Great week spent at this resort. Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurants were good but very busy so long waits at time to eat. We were never able to eat a the Italian restaurant because what times were too long. Other than that, an amazing week at the resort. We stayed in a three bedroom penthouse which was perfect for our family. Gym was well equipped, 24 hours.

The property is beautiful and staff are great. The restaurants are small and don’t take reservations. Dinner every night was chaotic. The infinity pool was the most active but seating there was limited. They have put Bibb Eads everywhere in charge you an absorbent fee to be able to use them. So seating at the main pool is extremely limited and a real pain to get they charged you money for ice cream and special coffees instead of having it as part of the all inclusive. They just nickel and dime you wherever they could. I would not go back.

We had an excellent stay this week even with the terrible weather. The staff was amazing from the time we arrived. They were so polite and helpful. The new villas and the pool area were amazing. Our kids didn’t want to leave. Thank you for a great week and allowing us to unwind.

The Bad: The transportation to and from the airport isn’t included in stay. The children’s food options are not great. It’s not all inclusive they like to offer you things not included so they can charge you. Some restaurants are not included and some bars are not included so be mindful. You have to make restaurant reservations ahead of time and are rude about walkins. There seems to be a lot of weddings and they close parts of the resort for them. including access to the only store in the resort. At the restaurants it’s hard to get good service getting refills are hard. The Good: The resort is beautiful and well kept. The staff is friendly. All areas are kept clean! The rooms are spacious (we had a 2br suite). The resort is kid friendly! Great for families. They do have several activities and things to do. The beach is well kept and gorgeous!

Despite being all inclusive, this place loves to upsell you extra charge for amenities that make the stay inconvenient. For example, they take up half the space surrounding the pool for beds that they make you pay a ridiculous amount for, and you can’t find space to lay for free bc space is limited, so people are always waking up early and reserving the free seats, if you’re up to the pool after 10am good luck finding a spot. Our ambassador never talked to us so we missed out on some of the things that were included in our reservation simply because no one told us about. Beach was all rocky with no place to swim in it. If you’re going for the beach don’t stay at this resort.

The property was very clean and kept. We enjoyed the entertainment that was convenient to guest in the evening. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. However, it would be nice to see more available seating for all evening events, as it was on the Sunday (5/25/25) and more stops for trolley to pick up for guest to get around/tour the property. Also, the late night places to serve or have access to finger foods from bars verses only room service being when guest are having drinks simple finger food is available. Nonetheless, we enjoyed The Fives Beach Hotel.

Giving the resort a 5 because of its rating based on being a 4.5 star hotel! The food choices were AWESOME! There were maybe a few items I didn’t LOVE, but overall I loved most of the food. There’s tons of food options (they make fresh tacos and pizza right in front of you by the pool as well) and the resturaunts and the service and staff are excellent which made our stay the best and the drinks were good as well! What influences my rating most is how much there is to do! The hotel always has events and fun things planned so you never get bored (silent disco, pool foam parties, big fiesta brunches, casino nights etc) and it’s super lively day and night and family friendly. We went as a childless young couple and still had an amazing time. The negatives: the beach isn’t the BEST beach, they did an amazing job cleaning up the seaweed during seaweed season and the water was gorgeous, but it’s not the best beach in my opinion but the infinity pool overlooking it made up for that. The resturaunts sometimes had long wait times but at an all inclusive, makes sense. Overall, we will be returning to the fives!

AVOID! NOT AS ADVERTISED I typically don’t write reviews but I’m so upset I want to make sure no one else makes the mistake of going here. I came for my bachelorette with 3 other girls and this was our experience: - None of the food was on ice and 3/4 of us got food poisoning the first night - At 3am on our last night there our room filled with sewage and the resort didn’t help we had to mop it up with towels while sitting in an inch of sewage water - There are zero activities to do here and half of the restaurants that are featured on their website don’t exist - The staff are beyond rude. We wanted to do the tequila tasting but didn’t want to drink full shots we just wanted to taste the tequila. They kicked us out of the tasting because we couldn’t do 4 shots in a row each. Overall the resort is filthy. I’m not sure what happened maybe it’s a result of COVID but please look elsewhere. DO NOT stay here.

The staff was great they were always around to help. The food choices were good other than they only had the Buffet in the morning. As an all inclusive, they did not have coffee available all day. The rooms were clean. The only complaint I have is we didn’t have hot water for a few days I notified the front desk and never heard anything back. The door that separates the bed room from the sitting room fell off its track and was extremely heavy trapped us in our room. We had to have her daughter come rescue us. We called the front desk to have them fix it and hadn’t fixed it after two days. I think the front desk had very poor communication.

The property was beautiful with reference to the outdoor environment, nature, the natural habitat and maintenance of it you can tell they are very clean. However the overall experience was poor, the lack of communication, the food is horrible, the process for scheduling for reservation a total mess everything has to be done through the ambassador who messed up on two occasions, restaurant assume we were lying and wouldn’t service us stating that they couldn’t accommodate 2 people when clearly that restaurant was not even half full. The communication with reception who directed us back to the ambassador for our concerns because it was out of their hands what kind of customer service is that and the food it’s not cooked by no chef the best is breakfast and those cooks that make those yummy scrambled eggs and the pizza makers by the beach and pool but everything else is like vague and general. They should have a Mexican section at all times in the restaurant we are in Mexico and not these simple everyday vegetables and fruits. I believe they had tacos but in the morning so it’s a bit confusing at least I don’t like tacos in the morning and the rooms step it up a notch barely any decorations the signs look like a child painted blocks on a canvas and the room view totally blocked by the huge trees they should touch it up in a way that we can see something but it’s nothing but branches and trees.

I rented two rooms and both rooms has very strong mold smell. I had seven months baby and 13 Years old daughter. My daughter has food allergy and they only had one lunch open place after she eats for lunch. We had to go to the emergency because of her flex reaction. Their food was contaminated and you don’t have any other options. Only one restaurant open at lunch and food was very limited. That night, my daughter lizards in the room and she refused to get it in the room and we had to end up staying outside the entire night. When we ask cancellation, no one able to contact us or to reach us to help. He was terrible and terrified we had when we stay in this hotel. I had to leave the next day and find another hotel. They have very poor customer service and you cannot reach them when you need them Emergency. Some of the rooms the car cannot get in and you have to walk to the lobby. I do not recommend in this hotel to anyone

I like the Pilates class and the bistro restaurant food and staff. I disliked that it took them 90’ to give us the rooms, even though we arrived at 3pm (the check in time) and forced us to walk to the beach so they “buy” time to get the rooms ready; they walked to the beach )16’ away) not considering we were tired of the trip, just to send us to the further restaurant to eat a hamburger; we didn’t like the amenities, the beds on the double room were stiff, the rooms are outdated and untidy, the elevator in building 15 didn’t work during the length of the stay. We needed to use the stairs but they never wiped the water off them . I didn’t like the fact that most of the property is far from the beach except some small area for resident owners which gives the feeling that the resort is not at the beach; we didn’t like the drinks )all watery down even the non alcoholic drinks, when I order sprite they gave me soda!) we decided to just order straight drinks such as tequila or champagne, so I recommend against the mixed drinks; we didn’t like that the cabanas obstruct all the views so unless paying extra for them, the beach is mostly far away … we didn’t like that the resort restaurants take up to 1 hour to be seated. We had to book there because we went to a wedding but I wouldn’t recommend it at all!! The night of the wedding they sent some strawberries with champagne but they left everything outside the fridge, just to find a pile of ants inside the room and a hot champagn

I did not get the room I was promised, and I was 15 mins away from the group of friends that I booked the trip with. The toilet quit working every morning and had to be reset by maintenance, the air conditioning was no working well.

The staff was great. Everyone was pleasant and welcoming all around the property (Im not joking). We were upgraded to the penthouse for our anniversary which was a nice incentive since we had our 5 month old. My only critique is the water is not hot enough in the rooms, the restaurant hours does not match what was on the site once you use the QR code, and the hype about the food... It was good but the exaggeration from other reviewers with past stays had my hopes too high lol. But overall we had a really good trip! We'd stay again.

Property was great. Loved the resort and people were friendly. Room wasn't as expected as booked 2 bedroom penthouse suite and received 2 seperate rooms instead. 1, 1 bedroom suite, and another unconnected room with 2 queen beds. If had young children, wouldn't be ok. Our suite had a lot of issues. Jacuzzi on roof leaked, didn't stay full and Jerry's didn't work. Reported and maintenance came 3 times but didn't fix. Later in stay air conditioner started leaking in our room so water dropping from ceiling. Reported but fix was only to shut off ac unit which still leaked. Staff was very friendly everywhere except for one front desk employee named Alma who was very rude. Loved the Thai restaurant and the beach and the atmosphere of the resort. Had a lot of fun other than the water in the room. Overall a great stay, but maintenance needed in our room.

I booked double beds because I was traveling with my Son. I chose this property instead of new The Fives Beachfront because they dont have doubles as it is adults only. During pre check in I also requested doubles but still given a king instead and was told it was an upgrade. It was not an upgrade to me because its not what I wanted or booked. I didnt need a kitchenette as we took full advantage of the all inclusive restaurants and because Ive already stayed at this resort if I would have known id only have one bed I would have stayed at the newer one

My group checked in to 2 rooms on Wednesday and it felt like a smooth experience but we then realized we didn't get (apparently very important) towel cards and our Ambassador didn't visit us which, as it turns out, is important to getting dinner reservations so my group of 6 had a difficult time getting tables at the restaurants we were really excited about. Thursday, I called to request the Ambassador and she booked us into what few restaurants were available - one of these was for a 9:30 PM dinner reservation and when we arrived (early) the waiter told us we had 10 minutes to order everything we wanted for the meal because the kitchen was closing. We also never got a good explanation about how to be aware of the various daily activities that were taking place. We had pre-booked a spa service and a boat day but none of the staff had information about these. It would have been a nice touch if they had. A minor thing but housekeeping didnt replenish our water in the morning so we tried to find our own bottles to take up to the room but apparently you can't! They said they would have room service bring them but that's a $4 charge. Eventually we got them but it took several requests and that seems excessive for something as simple and important as water It was strange that the coffee shop wasnt included in our all-inclusive rate. Other resorts typically include it Overall, the property was beautiful, comfortable, and clean but we weren't wowed by the service

We had a lot of fun once we sorted out the accommodations. We were put in a different room than what we booked and when we asked about it the receptionist was rude and tried to blame it on us until we showed her the actual reservation. I didn’t appreciate that at all so beware but after they fixed it all was good! The food wasn’t amazing but the resort overall was what we were looking for. It was affordable and we went for a quick trip. I would go back.

The Hotel and the staff on the actual property that helped with food and cleanliness was good this was my second time back to this hotel since the first time wen great as well . The main problem I had with this last visit was my transportation that was supposed to be provided by the hotel since I paid for the package of transportation for arrival and departure to the hotel with the lady of the name Sarahi Camargo, I was provided with the arrival transportation but when it came the time to leave they never provided transportation for the departure to the airport and since she never provided for the time I gave her I had to pay again even more for a taxi last minute to take me to the airport. Then once I contacted her after my trip was over for atleast a refund of the transportation, she sent me a fake refund receipt and I never received my refund. Therefore since I was very disappointed in how I was treated by her me and my fiancée don’t think we will be returning in May for our honeymoon

We enjoyed our six-night stay at The Fives Beach & Residences. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite as we are a family of six. We appreciated that the suite had balconies. We liked the location of our suite (villa nine) -- next time I think I'd ask for a ground level suite facing a pool and I might ask for one of the newer buildings as the original villas are a bit dated now. We really enjoyed the pools at the resort and also our time on the beach. It's fun to walk along the sand and check out the beachfront of other hotels -- I like that the beach is very open. The hotel restaurants are mostly good, with, very importantly, attention to food safety -- nobody in our party got sick (and you do hear a lot of food sickness stories from Mexico lately). We did a snorkel express excursion to the nearby reef and were treated so well by the guides. I would recommend this resort to families with a range of ages -- it was good for our children and teens. Pluses: lots of pool/beach towels available, friendly staff, beautiful pools.

The reason I am so upset is because the staff would each tell us different things contradicting each other. I asked about my benefits and the lady said that wasn’t something they offered I showed her my booking confirmation and what it said she said she they didn’t do that. I expressed at the hotel how unhappy we were and there was minimal to no effort to make it better. I was also so disappointed that there wasn’t more authentic food I couldn’t even find TAKIS which are literally Mexican chips what they did have were Lays and Doritos. The food did not taste good at all. I think the best restaurant that they had was the sushi one. Luckily, I have an aunt that lives in Mexico and she dropped off some actual Mexican food for us and that was the best meal we had. I don’t know. I just think it’s funny how you’re in Mexico and the food is all American nice like I did not feel like I was in a Mexican resort. I felt like I was at a fancy hotel in America so that was kind of sad because I felt like it robbed me from my Mexican experience.

We spent a week here for our honeymoon, and it was nothing short of amazing! The staff truly made our stay unforgettable—everyone was incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. The food exceeded our expectations, with Arezzo quickly becoming our favorite dining spot. This resort is beautiful. A lot of walking. Could use a few more smoking sections. All in all my family had a blast staying. We would definitely recommend this resort to any looking to visit Playa. The Mexican restaurant had very bad service. My son ordered a soda 3 times and never received one. They seated us, poured some water, took our order, once our food arrived, they never came back to the table. And it was NOT busy. Flavors, a restaurant, was awesome. Great service great food. Their fruit is so fresh!

Large beautiful resort with a very friendly staff. The Italian restaurant ,Arezzo, was our favorite upscale restaurant but the best food all around was the Natura Day Club by the adult only pool. For us, the buffet was very lackluster. There was no daily offerings of ceviche or guacamole which the other resorts we’ve stayed at seemed to offer and it’s one of our favorite parts of visiting in Mexican influenced countries. The only other thing we disliked is that anytime you wanted to go to another area of the town to shop or explore, it was an expensive cab ride. It would be great if there were shuttles to take guests to shopping areas etc.

We had a great stay at The Fives! Food was delicious, lots of options to choose from. Staff was very attentive with us and treated us well. My only two comments are: 1) beach was rocky to get into, i prefer more sandy beaches; 2) more of a family resort, limited nightlife options and everything is closed by 11pm

Like the options in room types and the staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. Did not like that it was far from the beach and usually used the shuttle also there were too many day beds blocking the view of the beach or pool. Also, seemed to be a lot on construction noise during the day

Stayed in building 8 and had short walk to nearby restaurant, Lizzards, and was less than 3 minute walk to plaza where the shops, spa, and other dining options were. Walk to beach was longer, probably 7-8 minutes, so getting a shuttle ride was best. Shuttles were supposed to be on a 10 minute rotation but a lot of times the carts were full and we ended up having to walk anyways. Food options were good but it is important to be an epic/vip member to be able to make reservations. If you don’t make reservations you should arrive at the restaurant you want to eat at by 5:30 pm. Showing up between 6-8 would result in hour plus wait times. Overall, the resort was beautiful, staff were wonderful and helpful, beach was gorgeous. We had a wonderful time and would do it again.

Good resort overall. There are no ocean view room options and you might be walking up to 10 minutes to the beach from the furthest buildings. I don't believe it's a true 5 star resort. We got rooms that were about 3.5 star resort type and went to speak to the front after which we got a much better room for a small fee. Food options and restaurants were good with good service, but we waiting few times up to an hour to get a table. Buffet is fair and shorter wait. Prices in the local convenience store are ridicolus. Spray sun screen was $32 USD lol, about 4x mark-up, bring your own. There were 4 weddings during our 7 day stay. So, if you are not a picky eater, ok to wait here and there and ok to get around 10k steps a day you will enjoy this resort. It's 4 star for me comparing to other 5 stars I've been to like Bahia.

Wonderful resort with excellent services. Many dining options. Pools everywhere. The natural setting is fantastic, your can observe monkeys and other animals in their natural habitat. A trip to paradise!!!

We met friends of ours from Italy here this is a great option for families with kids of different ages. There’s lots to do and it’s a nice break from the typical on the beach all inclusive because you have the jungle shaded area that you get to walk through so there’s always choices and a break from the sun.

Really enjoyed staying 15nights at the fives, the 16 resteraunts were all good, evening entertainment was a bit disappointing, it even ended early one night because of rain, buy other than that we haf a fantastic time at the fives

I have to say this property is absolutely beautiful. We went Monday - Friday and it wasn't too crowded. The staff was amazing and the rooms were clean, modern, and comfy. Then there is the serious restaurant situation at this resort. You can't get in most places without extreme wait times. The restaurant information on the website is inaccurate. Club members can make reservations so tables sit empty in every restaurant for dinner. The first night we walked into the Sea Olive early and luckily managed to get a table. The food was excellent. The second night we waited 2 hours for a table at Mestizo even though there were many empty tables. The food was excellent but not worth the wait. The third night we arrived late after an excursion and situation was the same - 2 to 2.5 hour waits. So we ate street tacos in the plaza while sitting on the wet ground. There is very limited seating. The fourth night we didn't risk it so, at 5:00 pm, so we sat by the door of Arezzo - which opens at 5:30 pm. Truly excellent food. Recommendations: Either eat brunch or have an early breakfast and a light lunch. (By the beach there are street tacos, burgers, and Meulle Ocho for excellent ceviche.) Then wait by the door of the restaurant you've chosen for dinner at 5:00 pm. My husband got sick and need something easy to eat mid-afternoon. All the restaurants were closed and room service had a 1.5 hour wait. Luckily the shop had crackers and electrolyte solution. We won't be returning.

Great resort, friendly staff and great food options. Because it was low season, not every restaurant was open every night and they don’t take reservations so you have to wait a bit. But otherwise it was a great vacation

I hated that reservations were REQUIRED in order to dine. Almost everyday we were there dinner times were booked until at least 930pm. There was always the buffet as an option but as the worst dining outlet there, we choose to dine offsite. I would have stayed at a non All Inclusive Hotel had I known that dining options were so limited.

The property is beautiful and staff are great. The restaurants are small and don’t take reservations. Dinner every night was chaotic. The infinity pool was the most active but seating there was limited. They have put Bibb Eads everywhere in charge you an absorbent fee to be able to use them. So seating at the main pool is extremely limited and a real pain to get they charged you money for ice cream and special coffees instead of having it as part of the all inclusive. They just nickel and dime you wherever they could. I would not go back.

Nice resort, well maintained but they have a serious issue with the restaurants at night. Either you have to line up at 4:30 to join the waiting list at one of the restaurants, or wait 2hours to get a table. Either of which I dont want to do on a vacation. And the members jump ahead of you on the queue. Ended up going to Playa del Carmen for dinner on the last night as couldnt face the stress of another 2hour wait with 3 kids

Five Beaches did not disappoint in cleanliness, layout, amenities, and over all service. My family and I loved the ability to get to the beach, swim in the pools, and yes we did All Inclusive with drinks a plenty which makes it easy for all. However, only rated 4* because they were rated as having "Vegan Options" but that was not the case at all. It was truly unfortunate with how challenging it was to find food outside of fries, potatoes, and fruit. I wish this was advertised better. I know that is unique to my families health & food choices as everyone else was raving about the food options, just Vegans you do have to go through the normal challenges due to our diet selections.

The reason I am so upset is because the staff would each tell us different things contradicting each other. I asked about my benefits and the lady said that wasn’t something they offered I showed her my booking confirmation and what it said she said she they didn’t do that. I expressed at the hotel how unhappy we were and there was minimal to no effort to make it better. I was also so disappointed that there wasn’t more authentic food I couldn’t even find TAKIS which are literally Mexican chips what they did have were Lays and Doritos. The food did not taste good at all. I think the best restaurant that they had was the sushi one. Luckily, I have an aunt that lives in Mexico and she dropped off some actual Mexican food for us and that was the best meal we had. I don’t know. I just think it’s funny how you’re in Mexico and the food is all American nice like I did not feel like I was in a Mexican resort. I felt like I was at a fancy hotel in America so that was kind of sad because I felt like it robbed me from my Mexican experience.

The property is nice and kept clean. It's a lot bigger then you think. Pools are nice on site and everyone is friendly. The food we had was very good. The only negative is they don't take reservations. People lined up early for specific restaurants.
