Excellent hotel to explore the downtown area! Close to shops, restaurants, and fun bars. The only downside was no private parking, that said there's fairly close paid parking at the Laugavegur parking garage.

Parking was a little hard to find and understand. Hotel Von is in a very busy area so during daytime, parking can be hard to find and managing the go arounds of the streets with people walking everywhere. The staff was amazing at helping us understand and know the parking hours well. We are so grateful for that.

Amazing location. Great price. Lobby being redone would have been nice to offer a voucher for coffee - could easily be a self service check in. Would recommend! Should note no parking we used garage.

Picked this hotel because of its location and the fact that it advertised having a restaurant and bar and daily breakfast - it had none of the above - all of that was under construction and not even built yet - so we were very disappointed - parking is hard to find On the other hand, staff was friendly, rooms were clean, location great, but people on the street partying will keep you awake

This hotel is in a fantastic location right in the heart of the city. It was great to be there for NYE. The hotel itself is simple and clean. Comfortable beds and good shower with nice products. Small details are missing, like it would have been good to have a boot tray to put your boots on instead of the floor getting wet from melting snow. We found the service ok, not particularly amazing. We arrived morning of New Year’s Eve and were told the hotel bar was booked out for a private event in the afternoon and then fully booked for the whole evening. I thought it was a bit odd that no bar seats or anything were left for hotel guests to just have a drink. On New Years Day the bar was completely closed. I would recommend this hotel purely for the location and to use as a base but not if you’re looking for a hotel with a few more frills.

Hotel Von is a beautiful hotel in such a central location. The architecture and design was stunning. We found parking fairly close by as well. The main concern we had was cleanliness. There was something beige smeared on the wall in the shower which makes me believe that the bathroom was not cleaned and we also found used contact lenses on the nightside table.

I arrived around 9am following a red-eye flight and was pleasantly suprised to find my room ready. Hotel staff were gracious. There is a restaurant on site serving a nice breakfast and upscale dinner. It is near shops, dining, and bars, and about a 30 minute walk to the Perlan museum. Room was clean except for mildew in shower stall. While I generally prefer a colder room for sleeping, the window did not fully close, so I did hear some street noise fom bar patrons.

Tolles Team, super hilfsbereit und freundlich! Auch die Lage ist wunderbar. Daher möchte ich das eigentlich nicht schlechtreden. Doch manche Menschen legen ja Wert auf folgendes: Sauberkeit, gerade im Bad (Thema Haare) hätte besser sein können. Bettwäsche mit Löchern auf der Sichtseite sind auch nicht gerade ansprechend. Zudem war der Wasserkocher außen undefinierbar schmutzig. Auch wenn dies sicher harmlos war, ist es nicht vertrauenserweckend. Doch ganz klar: wir würden wiederkommen! Daher bitte jeder für sich bewerten...

I thoroughly enjoyed my five night stay at Hotel Von and if and when I return to Reykjavik, I would most likely stay here again. The staff was excellent--from the front desk, to the restaurant staff (excellent food and service) and housekeeping. While basic, my room was modern (as is the rest of the hotel), comfortable (except for poor ventilation), and very clean. The hotel is extremely well situated. It is on a main, mostly pedestrian, street lined with shops, restaurants and bars, close to a vital bus stop (#9) and within walking distance of virtually all sites in Reykjavik. There's a handy market right next door. Street noise can occasionally be a bit of a challenge late at night in a street-facing room, especially on weekends. I very much recommend this hotel. P.S. While there's an electric kettle in the room, travelers should bring along their own tea, coffee, etc.

Loved this hotel for his prime location on the main street. Room was surprisingly very quiet. We always slept well. My only small criticism is that the pillows were very flat. Otherwise the room was wonderful - small but well appointed. Front desk staff was polite and helpful. Bar and cafe out front were very cute but we didn’t have time to enjoy them. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved everything about this property, except the bed was pretty hard and the shower was super stressful. There was no door on it, so water got all over the bathroom everytime you tried to shower. Didn't matter what we did, there was no way to stop the water from getting everywhere. The room was also very hot. Very clean though, great location and staff were friendly.

Great location- in the middle of the city and close to lots of restaurant options. Staff were fantastic, really friendly and helpful. Lost a star as the bed was a bit too hard and the pillows were really flat so not a great night sleep

The hotel was nice, clean rooms, not as much space as we are used to, but perfectly adequate. The staff was friendly, helpful and polite. Our only complaint was that even though the temp was moderate there were no fans to keep air moving and one half thin window opens for air, but it’s a trade off for the 24 hours of light if you leave the black out curtains open. We were certainly able to sleep so not a huge problem, but an option we would have liked. The only uncomfortable thing was the thin, hard pillows. Overall, nice accommodations. Thanks!

+ Bra, trevligt hotell, bra läge mitt på gågatan. - simpelt rum, enkelt. Dåligt belyst. ———— var gång någon stängde en dörr ute i gången så lät de som att någon detonerade en handgranat. Hela rummet skakade, väldigt dåligt. Det sitter till och med en doorman dörrstängare men de verkar som att de inte är korrekt inställda. Svårt att sova pga detta sprängande hela tiden.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. It is on Laugaveur Street, so there is noise from outside if you have a front facing room. It didn’t bother me and was what you would expect to hear in a busy area. There are great shops and dining options and Bus stop #9 is a 5 minute walk. Something to note is that once you enter your room, you have to put your key card in a slot next to the door to get electricity to work. As long as it is in the slot, the lights work!

Boom boom boom -- there is a speakeasy in basement (you wouldn't know about it) and they had a dance party going full blast until 2am in the morning. The bass was so intense elevator walls were vibrating. One night with less sleep. Otherwise good location in walk streets and center of town, close to church and bakeries.

Staff not overly friendly, but Hótel was in a great location and was comfortable. It was right next to a grocery store and in the middle of everything to walk to. Room was small and lighting was dim, but beds were very comfortable and we were only really there to sleep. We loved having a cafe/restaurant built in to the hotel. We got our coffee there every morning before leaving for excursions. We would highly recommend this hotel. They let us check in early and store luggage there too at the end of our trip. November stay.

This was our first visit to Reynkavik and I had no idea where to stay. I picked Hotel Von because it was close to the Sundholl pool. I’m so happy I did! Hotel Von was very conveniently located and allowed us to walk easily to all of our tours, both in the city and to bus stop 9. Our visit began with us arriving early in the morning, very tired from an overnight flight from the US. Thankfully, we were able to check into our room right away, allowing us to take a much needed nap, and we even got an upgraded room. The room was perfect for our needs. The entire staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The options for breakfast were just right and we took advantage of it every morning. My only disappointment was that while there was coffee and tea in the room, there was no creamer or sugar. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our stay and will be sure to book with you again if/when we return.

Friendly and helpful staff. I arrived on an eary morning flight and made my way to the hotel in the hope of leaving my luggage there until my 3pm check in. The room was obviously not ready at this time but they took my number and texted me when it was ready and allowed me to check in at 10.45 at no extra charge. Excellent personal service.

Hotel Von was perfectly located near everything we wanted to see and do in Reykjavik. The staff was wonderful and allowed us to check in early and even upgraded our room free of charge. Would absolutely recommend to those coming to stay in Reykjavik.

I thoroughly enjoyed my five night stay at Hotel Von and if and when I return to Reykjavik, I would most likely stay here again. The staff was excellent--from the front desk, to the restaurant staff (excellent food and service) and housekeeping. While basic, my room was modern (as is the rest of the hotel), comfortable (except for poor ventilation), and very clean. The hotel is extremely well situated. It is on a main, mostly pedestrian, street lined with shops, restaurants and bars, close to a vital bus stop (#9) and within walking distance of virtually all sites in Reykjavik. There's a handy market right next door. Street noise can occasionally be a bit of a challenge late at night in a street-facing room, especially on weekends. I very much recommend this hotel. P.S. While there's an electric kettle in the room, travelers should bring along their own tea, coffee, etc.

Perfect location to walk around Reykjavík. Lots of food options, shops and bars on the same street. The hotel staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Everyone on-site spoke English and gave advice. It is street parking which you have to pay for, it is free after 6PM though.

We absolutely loved our stay at this boutique hotel! The location couldn’t have been more perfect, with many stores, coffee shops and restaurants nearby, as well as a grocery store next door, and bus stop 9 a block away. The location made it easy to get out to see Reykjavik and Iceland's natural beauty. The hotel has a cozy, quiet, welcoming atmosphere — stylish but comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit small but cozy. No gym on the property, but close to the seawall to walk, run, and explore. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful hotel in Reykjavik with great food, shopping and sightseeing options nearby. Can’t wait to come back someday!

Hotel Von is right in the middle of everything. The bus stops for most tours is a short walk away. There are tons of places to eat within walking distance. The street is lined with shops. This was my 3rd visit to Reyand my 3rd stay at Von.

We really enjoyed this hotel! The location is excellent (right in the middle of everything and walkable to most anything in Reykjavik). The staff are friendly, kind and knowledgeable. The bed is comfortable and the restaurant is reasonable and tasty. We would highly recommend this property!!

This hotel is in a fantastic location right in the heart of the city. It was great to be there for NYE. The hotel itself is simple and clean. Comfortable beds and good shower with nice products. Small details are missing, like it would have been good to have a boot tray to put your boots on instead of the floor getting wet from melting snow. We found the service ok, not particularly amazing. We arrived morning of New Year’s Eve and were told the hotel bar was booked out for a private event in the afternoon and then fully booked for the whole evening. I thought it was a bit odd that no bar seats or anything were left for hotel guests to just have a drink. On New Years Day the bar was completely closed. I would recommend this hotel purely for the location and to use as a base but not if you’re looking for a hotel with a few more frills.

We picked Hotel Von, in part, to eat at their restaurant but it was closed both nights. One was a private function.
