This hotel is an historic building dating from the 1400's. It has served in many capacities over the centuries but has been beautifully updated for modern use. There is no nearby parking, however. If you park on the street it is very expensive; there are with more reasonable lots with a daily rate about an 8-12 minute walk away.

It’s a beautiful location right off the canal and they have an interior garden - you can order drinks from the hotel bar and enjoy them in the garden. Lastly, the breakfast is amazing and varies daily!

Good location hotel. 7 jins walk to main square but in a quiet residential quarter. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has lots of character and is itself a historic building. Excellent breakfast. Easiest way to teavel vetween the train station and the hotel is taxi (around 15 Euros) but you can do it by bus. A free shuttle bus is operated by the city between the station and the city centre. Then about 5 min walk over cobbled streets. We'd be very happy to stay here again.

Great little stay in Bruges. The hotel is very old, so everything has amazing character to it, but there's no elevator, so be prepared to drag all of your luggage up some rickety stairs multiple flights. The staff were super friendly and amazing, offering lots of tips and suggestions for experiencing Bruges. There's no stand-up showers in the rooms, either, so you will need to use a little handheld head in the tub. The walk to the Main Square of Bruges is only about 10 minutes and is a beatiful walk to take with lots of shopping and eating options along the way and even more once you get to the amazing square. Overall, we loved our stay at Hotel Ter Brughe and will definately be back!

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Ter Brughe. It is in a quiet area but still close to the center. Our room had a canal view. We chose a room on the 3rd floor, which was fine for us, but there is no elevator, so anyone with issues with stairs should request a lower floor.

Wonderfully located property within easy walk to the historic centre. Staff helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was great. Good size room for three people which was clean but perhaps decor and fixtures could be updated. Bed mattress and pillows could be firmer for our liking. Overall loved our stay.

Overall a nice hotel, however the rooms have paper thin walls and you can hear people in other rooms using the bathroom, talking or walking. Noise from outside woke us up early in the morning with the hotel’s delivery drivers playing loud heavy metal music outside our window. Room was very clean however the bathroom could have been cleaned better.

Fint Hotell från utsidan, charmigt. Tyvärr vårt sovrum var inte städad när vi var där. I badrummet gick vi på typ sand eller något sedan då kändes inte så bra. På golvet hittade jag någon lik våtservetter. De hade inte städat rummet tyvärr. Annars rummet var väldigt fint men de har ingen A/C o det var för varmt för att sova.

Great stay and great and helpfull staff, breakfast was also good. A very minor comment on our room the shower was in the bath and you are not able to stand up to have a shower, it would be better to have a showerhead mount higher up to have this option. Otherwise all good, would stay again

Charmant bâtiment parfaitement situé pour visiter Bruges, avec jolie vue sur le canal. Par contre très bruyant. Nous avons eu l'impression de partager notre chamre avec le voisin. Nous l entendions parler, bouger, prendre sa douche, aller aux toilettes. De plus c est un simple vitrage donc le bruit des voitures et camions sur les pavés fait que les bouchons d oreilles sont Obligatoires. Impossible de vraiment se reposer. Dommage

Amazing little hotel in an old building by the canal. Location was excellent, close to the bus stop and just a short walk from the center of town. Staff were super friendly. Room was very cute. Plenty of room, comfy beds, handy Nespresso machine. Only challenge was the sit down shower in the tub. Would have been nice to have a place to hang the shower head.

Probably one of our very favourite hotels ever. The property was amazing. Our room(s) had a beautiful view of the canal and was well appointed. Beds were comfortable with excellent bedding. Staff were kind and helpful. We spent some time in the courtyard which was nice as well. Super quaint and lovely!

Beautiful old building. But that means some "old building" problems. The rooms are NOT sound insulated, despite efforts by "the owners"(?). Stayed two nights, was awakened both mornings by the neighbouring room's 5:30 wake-up call. =D

We wouldn’t stay anywhere else than the Ter Brugge in Brugge, we have stayed quite a few times now and we are regulars to the hotel. This hotel is one of a kind that is why we always chose to go back. The staff are so lovely and welcoming and will do anything for you, the bed is world class and so comfy, the location is perfect and with it being by the side of the canal is so picturesque, the hotel just has so much Brugge charm that we love. We couldn’t recommend the Ter Brugge enough for how amazing it is. Until next time Ter Brugge !!!

My wife and I ( both in our 70's) stayed there for four nights, and it was a wonderful experience. This is a fabulous hotel. Located on a canal, it is far away from the central part of the historic district to avoid noise and crowds, but still in easy walking distance. The staff immediately respond to every request, and also are very helpful with restaurant suggestions. My wife and I ( both in our 70's) stayed there for four nights, and it was a wonderful experience. This is a fabulous hotel. Located on a canal, it is far away from the central part of the historic district to avoid noise and crowds, but still in easy walking distance. The staff immediately respond to every request, and also are very helpful with restaurant suggestions. It was a strange experience, with two stays in as many weekends (both legs of a Germany holiday), for three nights in total. The first thing: there is no lift, and it astonishes me that in 2025 there are hotel rooms on the third floor (fourth if you are American) without a lift, and the hotel is classed as "four Stars". The last thing I would like to mention is that, of the three receptionists, one (the blonde young woman) seemed to hate life, and me in it. The other two were very fine and helpful. The second room, which was bigger, on the canal, and one floor below, was a much better experience and a much better value for money. The first room (last floor) was below expectation and below par. The location is glorious, though, and the place, whilst tired, does have its charme. I will stay again in the hotel only if I get a suitably low price for one of the finer rooms. To make a comparison, the Hotel Casselbergh, also a four star, is a world apart as far as luxury and experience are concerned, and I booked my room there two years ago at less than here, on the same day of the week as the canal room (Sunday to Monday).

My wife and I spent a quick night here on our way from Paris to Amsterdam, and we both wished we could have stayed longer. We decided to walk from the train station and it was a very manageable 25 minute walk right through the heart of Bruges. The location is just outside of the city center, so it made it very convenient to get to shopping and dining, but felt so quiet and quaint. Very cool old hotel with lots of history and we absolutely loved it. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive and the bar and breakfast were outstanding. Highly recommend!

The view from the room was lovely. The breakfast was delicious .The location was stunning. The part of town straight out of a picture book. The staff were not very friendly and with the exception of the manager Ellen, who genuinely tried to help, were in fact inappropriate, condescending and difficult to deal with. There was difficulty and unhelpfulness from the off, ie upon our arrival. Also I could not believe it when on the morning of check out , I was given an answer which contradicted the printed material about check out. Whilst the staff did try, we felt uncomfortable mainly from the reception staff.

Our room was perfect, great location and the staff were incredibly helpful. We had some issues with our rental car from France after checkout and the staff were able to help us get it sorted, saving us a lot of time and hassle.

Good location hotel. 7 jins walk to main square but in a quiet residential quarter. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has lots of character and is itself a historic building. Excellent breakfast. Easiest way to teavel vetween the train station and the hotel is taxi (around 15 Euros) but you can do it by bus. A free shuttle bus is operated by the city between the station and the city centre. Then about 5 min walk over cobbled streets. We'd be very happy to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Ter Brughe. It is in a quiet area but still close to the center. Our room had a canal view. We chose a room on the 3rd floor, which was fine for us, but there is no elevator, so anyone with issues with stairs should request a lower floor.

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel with my family. The staff were incredible, and the hotel is stunning. Great location - easy to get to all the sites, a grocery shop and a nice bakery are nearby. We found the price of breakfast ridiculously expensive though.

Love this hotel. It’s a short walk from everything you want to see in Bruges. Quiet neighborhood, charming building and rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is outstanding and the bar is open as late as you wish. I wish we could have stayed longer!

This is a historic property so it is not allowed to change certain things, thus the building has no elevator. Inside is dated. Bathroom has deep tub and hand held shower. Best part is the canal view from the breakfast room and a great breakfast. The hotel is not located in the tourist area near the canal boat rides and other fancy hotels.

Really lacked of enclosed showering, Not used to shower in an open bath. Guests in the room above you could literally hear every step and move. 3rd floor and no lift does not help but since its historic building we can let this go. 2 windows overlooking the canal had beds at them so €330 a night with canal view wasnt quite with canal view unless you open window and peak out while sitting on the bed.
