Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort

The property was very clean and safe. The food was 8/10 but most of the time 10. The pool situation for getting a lounger was terrible and had to be there at 6am to get a sun bed,it was spring break so maybe thats why. But overall it’s a great place and Jesus the waiter was great for breakfast

Property is remodeled but not completely, so you still see some things that are super old and others that are new. If you get a room with the door to the main hall the noise will be pretty significant, past 11pm. Cleanliness of main areas is good, but restrooms were ok, some bad (by pool). Really big negatives: 1) slides, lazy river and kids water area are not heated, water is much colder than pool and on top of it the whole area is in the shade aside from mornings. We were there for a week and saw maybe 5 different people in the area, zero kids in the kids area. Keep in mind if you have kids. 2) food is bad, I’d say 2/5. 3 people out of our party of 5 got sick. I have a very strong stomach and I was out of commission for a day. By the 3rd day you realize every meal besides breakfast is going to be subpar, even for all inclusive standards. If you normally live off hot pockets, reheated wings and Fanta maybe you’ll be delighted in the food. Only respectably good place was the Japanese restaurant where the chef prepares it in front of you. 3) no kids area/playground. What’s advertised is actually a babysitting service, so if you’re not dropping your kids off they can’t actually play there, major bust. 4) Nothing to do in the evenings, sure they have some singer or musician in the grand hall some days so you can sit and enjoy for a bit but that’s it. The arcade “sports bar” has 3 video games from 2005 and some hoops games that weren’t working.

The food quality is good, but the restaurants are small, especially during the morning breakfast rush. There also is no buffet options for diner. Beach is nice, and the sea weed is being cleaned up every morning, but there are large rocks right at the shore, which make it difficult do walk into the ocean and once the waves get a little larger, it is impossible to get into the water. The pool is ok, but again the area around the pool is small, and you have to get up really, really early to reserve a spot to sit. The evening entertainment in comparison to some of our other vacations is poor, and if someone is looking to do dancing in the evening, there is no option for that either.

Nice property overall, best suited for families. Staff excellent! Food good. Rooms overall very good. Room fridge has only beer/soda. Beach is very narrow, seemed to be narrowest part of beach as we walked up and down. Overall a 4/5

The kids water park with slides is also small, but very nice is you have small kids. Pool area is very small with only one main pool and a smaller adults only pool which are close to each other. No options if you prefer a quiet pool. The floor in the pool area is also pale and there are not many trees around. Sunglasses are essential. The fitness room is nice, but very few weight machines. If you like the beach, the hotel does not have a beach area to speak of. The beach chairs are instead placed on a deck close to the pool area. However, the beach is public and you can walk up and down to find a better area. Room is spacious and clean. However, I do not care for a shower where there is no door to close. It gets very messy. Overall, I would consider staying here again.

The staff is amazing. It's a great place to go with kids. The kids' camp is wonderful.

Checkin process was a bit slow. But the place is great for families, great entertainment, and lots of food options. The only other thing is the pool gets crowded. We were at about 60% and it seemed to be full.

The resort was great, kids loved the Camp Club, they wanted to stay there all day everyday.

The Marriott was nice but for the price it was lacking in a few areas. Absence of evening entertainment was notable, after dinner there was nothing to do. The pool smelled bad, too many people peeing in the pool while drinking I suspect. The games in the game room were 'ALL' broken which was a big letdown for the kids. Food was just ok.

We reserved an ocean view. While checking in a woman was complaining about not getting a room with an ocean view. I asked twice about our rooms. Both times I received an answer that we were getting an especial room. We did not get an ocean view. This would be considered by most a partial ocean view at best. No refund and No responses from Expedia or Marriott. But, that’s not unusual. The room had pink and yellow mold in the shower. The carpet had not been vacuumed (sand and what looked like nail clippings). One of the rinsing cups looked like it had been used as a toothbrush holder and still had residue. The balcony had food crumbs and sticky spots where someone may have spilled food or drink.

I took my daughter and her friend here for her 18th bday/grad present (April 2025). The hotel itself is gorgeous. The food is the best I've have at an all-inclusive, so many options, but buffet only available in the morning. With the exception of the check-in staff who were incredibly slow, the rest of the staff was super amazing, friendly and helpful. We had an oceanfront suite and it was perfect. Only a couple complaints: 1. the beach area had a lot of trash that was not cleaned up daily, it was disappointing (never experienced this). 2. the drinks are incredibly watered down - if you want a normal amount of alcohol (or stronger) you should go to the bar yourself and watch it be made - I was lazy and enjoyed the staff bringing my drinks and food to my lounge chair. 3. there is not a lot of lounge areas on the beach with shade so people really cram in on you if you're early enough to get the shady spots near the beach bar (not the hotels fault but be out there early if you want one of those spots). I would definitely return.

Nice/newish infrastructure, rooms, etc. As soon as we arrived our first stop was to eat a pizza slice each by the beach. To our horror, the person attending the pizza kitchen grabbed it with his bare hands to put it on a plate. That should have been a sign. Pool service is atrocious. Not Marriot level, but a below average all inclusive. We waited almost one hour to get an order entered into the kitchen after speaking to a handful of the servers who always tell you “immediatemente caballero” (immediately, sir). Beachfront is nice (it is Cancun after all), but the facilities not. Chairs are far from everything (including any hope of service) and rundown as if they survived a nuclear attach. Then, the cherry on top. My older son and I got severely food poisoned. One full day of lots of sitting – in pain. Had to take an immodium to stop it and be able to take a plane back. Today is day 5 after our return. I am writing this from a doctor’s office since it has not stopped and clearly I must have ingested a back bacteria or parasite. So, yes, for facilities they get a 4/5. For Service, a 2/5 (yes, it is way below average, specially if you are paying Marriot rates). For “food”, well, they get a 0/5. This is a run of the mill all-inclusive (diluted / undrinkable beer), with well below average service. No, I will not return - and no, despite the glowing reviews that enticed us to book it in the first place, avoid it like the plague.

The resort is very clean and the staff is genuinely friendly and attentive, which made the overall experience enjoyable. The only downside for me was that they didn’t offer a lunch or dinner buffet. Aside from that, it’s a solid spot with great service.

The hotel has two elevators, but only one was working during a busy weekend which made wait times frustrating. Additionally, my room was skipped during cleaning on one of the days. I had to call five times and only received housekeeping at 8 p.m. the following day. Disappointing service overall. The hotel is old and outdated. They need a renovation.

We had a beautiful room which was an ocean facing room. The view was incredible. However, it was very small with oddly no where to sit. It consisted of one very small round table pushed into a corner accompanied by 1 small chair giving us nowhere to eat or utilize as a desktop. If it weren't fr the magnificent view I wouldn't have much else good to say. The restaurants were terrible. I would not recommend unfortunately.

The hotel is good, food is very good with lots of options. Staff are friendly and helpful and provide good service. Some people do tip but many don't tip the staff as it is considered all inclusive. We had an ocean view room which was very good except all of the ocean view rooms at the hotel have a door to the next room. You can hear the occupants of the other room very well...no sound insulation. So if your sleep and activities don't mach with the other room's occupants, you are in for some disruptions.

Overall it was a good stay. Food options were good and the room was clean. We had the 1 bedrooms suite with a king bed and convertible sofa. Was good to have the separation as the kids are a little bit older and bigger. We liked this property over some of the larger resorts because access to the pool and beach was easier. Alberto, our waiter at Hana Polynesian is the only complaint. My boys ordered the pork chop. After putting in the order he came back to say they were out. He suggested a different option but when I asked to see the menu again he just walked away rolling his eyes at me. Then he came out with the original order and didn’t answer me when I asked what happened. He also tried to clear the table before we were even finished. I left really agitated - as you can probably tell but didn’t make much of a deal as it was our last night. Other staff was great but it only takes one person to ruin it which is why the one star.

Not Impressed with Marriott Cancun While our stay at Marriott Cancun had a few positives, overall, it fell short of our expectations. Pros: • The hotel’s smaller size makes it convenient to access the beach and pools. • Our ocean-view room was a highlight — spacious and comfortable for 2 adults and 1 child. Cons: • Noisy Rooms: The design resembles Embassy Suites, where room entrances face an open atrium. As a result, noise carries into the rooms late into the night, making it hard to relax. • Disappointing Food: The food was below average, with limited restaurant options and a repetitive menu. Even during Christmas, the special menu failed to impress. • Lack of Entertainment Options: The hotel offered very few entertainment activities, making the overall experience dull, especially for families or those looking for engaging experiences. • Towel Bar Issues: The towel service at the pool was the worst part of our stay. They were almost always out of towels, which was frustrating and inconvenient. This hotel has potential, but it needs better management to improve the guest experience.

The food is good and the rooms are very clean. I didn't have a good experience In : *Check-in took forever, 45 minutes. *It only has one outdoor bathroom (central pool, adult pool, and beach). It needs more bathrooms. * They didn't honor my reservation for a king-size room and gave me one with a double bed. It was a very awkward moment on my wedding anniversary.

Nice and convenient property with good food. Neighbors were grumpy who complained about our talking. Rooms and bathroom are small.

This is my 9th trip to the Cancun hotel zone in the last 13 years, and unfortunately, this has been the most disappointing room view I’ve ever received. We booked a “resort view” room, but ended up facing a construction site. We weren’t expecting anything exceptional—we live by the water back home—but we did ask the front desk for a well-located room if possible. Instead, we were given one of the least appealing views on the property. The staff have been kind and helpful, but based on our first day, the food and drinks are just average. In fact, the food across the restaurants is just average, and the drinks are standard options with no premium selections included. This makes the overall experience feel like just another generic Cancun hotel, far from what you would expect from the Marriott brand. Several operational issues affected our stay. They frequently ran out of large bottles of water, especially on weekends, which they call “transfer days.” It’s also extremely difficult to secure reservations at the better restaurants, particularly on weekends. Overall, everything feels like a struggle rather than a relaxing vacation. While the rooms appear recently renovated, the hotel as a whole still feels outdated. Considering the Marriott name, this stay has been a kind of disappointment. Unfortunately, we’re not planning to return, and we won’t be recommending this property to any of our friends.

Gym most of equipment was damaged and not available to use. I was assigned a wrong room setup for my first day of stay.

The hotel staff were so kind and pleasant! The hotel itself was very clean and spotless. The food selections were delicious at Case Madre and rhe Japanese Restaurant were delicious. The resort is very enjoyable and we will definitely be back. We stayed for 5 nights, 6 days and did not want to leave.A much needed time away and Marriott made us feel at home!

I made a reservation at 8:15pm on 12/26 at the Ono restaurant but were kept waiting for a whole hour. We were seated with the next shift until 9:15pm. This happened only to us and I felt so disappointed and discriminated. My mood was ruined by this and this is the worst experience I ever had!

My mom and I went for a week getaway and everything was absolutely perfect!! Highly recommend for all ages. The food was spectacular at all restaurants - I wish I had a whole more week to try other menu items. The staff was the absolute best and the whole experience was stellar!! Will definitely be back!

The check in was supposed to be at 3 PM but they were not ready until 4 PM. They gave the band and said it would be ready in another 20 minutes. When we went to the room the room was open and we unpacked and went to the beach and came back to see they reported a security breach incident on me. The front desk rep said there was a misunderstanding on their side but no regret or remorse. Hate it when they don’t own their mistake. Don’t recommend anyone to book this place

We had a wonderful family vacation from start to finish. The staff really make the experience- they are welcoming, fun and accommodating. We brought 4 young adults with us and we felt very safe letting them explore the property. Lots of dining options- you just have to plan ahead for dinners by making a reservation.

Wonderful stay!! The door men Fidel, Manuel, Jose were amazing! The food and room service food were great! Service is the best I have experienced at a resort or cruise ship. Just a very comfortable and top not. The coffee house and breakfast was amazing. Maria kept our room clean 6015! Best ceviche and grill tacos by the beach

Very nice property that has everything you need on location. It is also very conveniently located if you want to venture off the property via the local shuttle (R Buses) at a cost of only 12 pesos or around .60 cents per passenger.

Absolutely fantastic experience. I’ve been to Cancun numerous times and this was the best so far. Staff at every turn, were very friendly and helpful. The rooms and overall facility is very modern ands updated. ( love that you never need to worry about your room key as the bracelet works.) The view even with a partial ocean was wonderful. Bed, pillows, internet TV all part of a very comfortable stay. The food was great and there is a lovely sunrise breakfast spot (Hanna’s) as well as a sunset dinner spot at Casa Madres. Not to mention the perfect lunch location right on the beach . The resort is not huge which is nice for getting around and popping back to your room if needed. The only warning I would say is is you need to be aware there is lots of rock on the beach and if you want to swim, you’ll need to got to the far right to avoid those toe breakers. Getting to town costs a dollar on the R1 or R2 buses and they run non stop. Hang on as this can be an adventurous ride with the way they drive here! We didn’t bring kids but could see there is a great kids club with lots of activities. Definitely would recommend this place. UPDATE- it was super easy to book a rental car through the concierge so we could drive down to TULUM - $75 per day with complete insurance coverage and they had a car ready at the hotel within an hour. ALSO of note per Airport transfer we used For $35 each way and they were super easy to communicate with https://www.cancunairportransportations.com

food options and great location

The staff was amazing, the hotel is positioned perfectly on the strip to catch the centered sunrise . The beach was perfect. The place was clean. We had to go to jw Marriott for spa and gym amenities. I was in the presidential suite, furniture seemed old, the spa on the front balcony leaked when full. Most faucets leaked in some way. The bathroom shower door didn’t contain shower water from splashing on the floor. But the memories I made here were priceless. I’m a bit of a stickler about construction so my eye catches everything. They are renovating for a whole year beginning in April to 2024 so I assume all issues will be addressed. Nonetheless I would do it all over again.

I would stay again; excellent service and beautiful property. Great location and excellent beach.

LIKE: the property was located in the middle of the hotel zone and was a bus ride to everywhere. there was not enough affordable restuarants within walking distance. most of the restaurants were "fancier" DISLIKE: concierge was not knowlegeable about the location of the hotel in reference to our excursions (e.g. they didn\'t know how to get 13.5KM on the hotel zone and suggested we take a taxi which cost 20 US dollars when we could have walked a KM and/or bus for one US dollar)

I stayed over for an international conference. To start with, the hotel’s shuttle service failed at the airport substantially since the baggages came out 50 minutes after the landing (which was not my problem). The hotel staff was not friendly in arranging for the next shuttle. I was looking for their shuttle at a very scammy area at the airport. The transportation system is bad and you better find another way to get to the hotel. Other than that the area is super enclosed so that there is no way to walk to nearby places. You must eat at the hotel, and to me, there are not much options available. The room and cleaning people were good. Finding a regular taxi is a trouble since there is no meter in the taxi. Your taxi is arranged by the hotel staff and most of the time they double charge you. Going back to the hotel from downtown is possible by Uber but not from the hotel to downtown since the staff does not allow the Uber drivers in. Overall, it was not a good stay. Marriot is not doing good there. I will try another hotel next time.

Restaurants at dinner time were terrible.

Breakfast choices were limited. The fact that you have to make reservations for dinner even though non of the restaurants are full but they tell you otherwise. There is absolutely no buffet and it was really challenging when you’re vacationing with small children. Resort it self is beautiful but would not recommend to families with small children due to food access.

Not for a foodie. The Mexican was barely acceptable. The Hani was good The diner good The pizza good crust not good sauce It was a challenge to find good food. Coffee place had good drinks and pastries

below average food. service was good for the most part but some of servers had attitudes. I didnt understand what they said but the look and tone of voice made it very obvious. Make all of us very uncomfortable from time to time. Stay away from Japanese restaurant. everything is salty. rice has no flavor, and Hibachi............... well....... for beginner I guess. You are only allow to order 1 item, which is chicken, steak or seafood. Yes you heard me right. all inclusive but you only allow to get 1! Oh wait! Let me remind you, 1 chef running 2 table so your rice and (1 item) will be eating separtely 30 minutes apart. Hana everything is over cook. yes including steak. Marriott didnt meet my expectation on this property.

Had a great stay, all staff were really friendly and welcoming. Just wished they had more vegetarian options at the restaurants.

Second stay and no disappointment. We traveled to celebrate a friends 50th birthday. Last year it was 5 of us, this year 17. We returned because the food and the service was exceptional. It was nice to see that Leonardo from Casa Madre remembered us. Ask for him when you go, he’s so nice & helpful. Adro in Entertainment is amazing, he’s so fun & energetic. Sebastian at the pool bar makes great drinks. Everyone that works there is so professional and nice. The food was absolutely delicious we had no complaints. The service was great, I can’t wait to return.

Every detail had been thought of, anticipated, and planned for. This was a very expensive family reunion of 14 people and well worth every penny. As someone with celiac disease, traveling can often be stressful, and dining out is one of the most difficult aspects. Cross-contamination is a serious issue for people with celiac and most places, especially other Marriott properties have not been nearly as equipped or trained to handle it properly. But this stay was completely different. Your Chef Angel, Chef Albert, and the entire culinary team went above and beyond in every possible way. Their knowledge about CD, their commitment to safe preparation, and their overall attitude of kindness and inclusion completely blew me away. Furthermore, they didn’t just make me feel safe, they made me feel seen. I was given direct access to them to discuss my needs, and they never once made me feel like I was being difficult, a burden or inconvenient. They showed me genuine care and compassion, treating my dietary restrictions not as a burden, but as something they were happy to accommodate with excellence. They even made special gluten free baked goods just for me-something that I rarely get to enjoy. They prepared meals to-go when I had to leave the hotel, fully understanding that eating safely outside would be nearly impossible. Property was beautiful.
