Overall a good stay. THE GOOD: Service and employees are all amazing. Especially Maria at the EL PATIO restaurant and Elmer at the BARRACUDA main bar, they definitely went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Carlo at El Patio was also great. Food, drink selection is very good as well all around. They even have a coffee and pastry shop open all the time, which is also included. Location is great as well, walking distance to the main strip and the beach is one of the best. THE BAD: The main pool is in DESPERATE need of repairs. There are literally hundreds of small tiles missing on the pool floor, my 6 year old kid even got a small cut on his toe from stepping on one of them. There are 2 other pools next to the main one which are nicer and in much better shape, steer away from the main one. Also, they advice you to make reservations on their app for the HIMITSU teppanyaki tables every day at 3:15pm as they release them BUT we tried every single day of our stay at 3:15pm and they never had a table available, ended up eating at Gaucho Grill and El Patio instead, so plan on not getting into that restaurant ( even though it looked slow ). Rooms could use a little updating as well, they show the hotel’s age. Overall worth the money but could be better.

Things were falling apart and not fixed, for example pool was missing a lot of tiles. Food was actually very good in each restaurant. The only issue with the food was the limited time to eat. I would assume that I could eat when I wanted to. The alcohol selection was poor. I am trying to do low carbs and basically only drink beer. I was looking for a beer that tastes good like Busch light or Ultra and low in carbs but they had none. The staff for the most part was absolutely amazing. Always cleaning and taking care of the guests. The events were fun, some much better than others, but understandable when trying to please so many different types of people. The worst part was that when we arrived we were told that we qualified for a free upgrade. We did not need this but we said sure and thanks, however when we checked out we were charged an additional $500. Total scam and I have told everyone not to go to this resort due to this scam.

Normally love my Hyatt experiences but i think ill avoid the dreams sand resort. First off prefered doesnt really feel like prefered feels kinda standard second i wasnt too pleased with the elevator situation 2 elevators for i think 10 floors and kids punchijg the button and then running the stairs, i stepped into an elevator on two separate occasions and watched a kid push all the buttons so annoying. Then on our anniversary night room service was too busy to even answer the phone i had to go to the lobby to find out way to ruin the evening. I enjoyed the beaches food and other aspects but overall i was not impressed.

Best beach that’s calm, beautiful and safe for all ages. The staff are amazing. They really go all out to give you the best experience. The entertainment staff are the best and the shows and activities offered are fantastic. The resort itself needs some work. The main pool has sharp broken tiles in it. The preferred club pool is lovely but not heated. There are water leaks throughout the building including the buffet itself. It’s very difficult to get room service on the app. Very few rooms have balconies and if you want one it’s an upgrade. Food is average and buffet is small and limited. The bed in our preheated club room was like sleeping on a pullout couch for a week. The property location, beach and staff make up for what is lacking but I hope the hotel will get around to improving the other things because Dreams Sands has a lot of potential.

Beautiful beach and great service . Terrible condition of the pool , my kids got their toes cut several times because the pool needs to replace their tiles since they are all broken ! The Buffett ceiling is leaking on you , on the food , everywhere and has mold !

We were good we were given an upgrade but were moved to a room on a higher floor without w balcony. I booked balcony rooms because we love to sit outside in the morning. Additionally our room fridge didn’t work, the bathroom had a mold in the shower. Over all a very disappointing stay

I had an amazing time here! The guest service, in every area of this resort, was 10/10! You can tell that whoever runs this place believes 100% in perfect customer service! I enjoyed the hospitality all the way around as well as the food, also the cleanliness. I loved my room and the resort itself is BEAUTIFUL! The photos and videos I saw online didn’t do it any justice at all! I would definitely go back! There’s also events going on that are super cool too.

The hotel had a horrible smell like sewage, the room was not like pictured. room would be cleaned and they would not leave clean towels you had to call to get them or see if you seen someone from housekeeping to clean ones.

The food and facilities were excellent. But i doubt cleanliness of this property. Dead Cockroaches was seen couple of times in the room and the house keeping removed it after 4-5 hours even after reporting. Staffs were friendly but there is a huge language barrier. It is very difficult to explain things and what they are trying to convey as they are not good eith English. So international customers with no knowledge of other languages than English will face issues, I lost one valuable day of my vacation due to communication problems. Overall experience with this resort, i give one star rating due to my bad experience

This hotel is quite worn down and needs renovation. There were brown spots on the bed covers and hairs and dirty glasses in the room when I checked in. The rooms were smelly (moist). The food was good in some restaurants, and not so good in a few. Most of the staff were nice and service minded, but some were quite rude. One waitress even made my friend cry. Very Americanised tip culture where the staff expect tip for anything they serve or help you with, even if it’s an all inclusive resort (not what we’re used to in Europe, where we tip when the service has exceeded expectations and a good level of service is standard). Extremely loud party music outside and in the hotel lobby area most nights until late so I had to sleep with earplugs. Half the beach and pool chairs (and one of the pools) are in a “preferred” area which you have to pay 70 USD extra per night to use. We asked about this as some in our party had booked this option not knowing what it was, and some had not seen this on the booking sites used. We were told “all guests are treated the same, but some have paid for the preferred facilities”. All guests were NOT treated the same! Two days they used part of the beach for a private event, so we had to move midday and squeeze in with the other hotel guests. Despite the beach access being smaller we still weren’t allowed to use the “preferred” side of the beach.

Amazing food! The staff were always cleaning something, it was spotless! They were attentive to our every need, and went out of their way to help with any request! The rooms were the only downside as the beds were uncomfortable, the walls weren’t soundproof, and the shower was not a consistent temperature. Overall a really great experience though! Would recommend if you’re wanting a smaller resort with less crowds and great staff!

The resort was clean but is very outdated and has number of issues going all around. Our toilet was not flushing, someone came to look at it and it was somewhat working after that but still a problem. Showers are very outdated and barely any water flow going. The foset water had weird smell, like a soure, you could smell it on the hallways as well. One of the elevators was broken the entire time we were there and everyone was using other side elevator and it took a long time to make it to the 9th floor. One working elevator couldn’t fit lot of people and there was always a big line to go up. Breakfast/buffe room the floor had several licking spots that was dripping on the floors. The staff had buckets and towels laid on the floors to prevent from falling. Wouldn’t never go back to this resort. Sorry. *(Give credit to all staff members at this resort, specially to our server Ricardo, he was amazing, would recommend him to everyone).

The Beach Is Really Nice Clean Water Clear also Are Stay Was Good But Me and My Wife have been to a lot of dreams resorts and this one was on the bottom end if we had to compare to the rest Looks like it hasn’t been updated in a while. and Another Thing We didn’t like was all the restaurants don’t have restrooms in them you have to Leave the restaurant and Walk quite some ways to lobby just to use them and the food was Ok they have same thing everyday and There was no spoons in sight had to ask for them every time . The Rooms aren’t sealed that well felt like are room was in the hallway because every sound was so loud couldn’t sleep well at times.

Rooms are a little outdated but the view from our room was amazing. The hotel has access to a large portion of the beach and there were plenty of pools around without it being overly crowded. Plenty of bar areas with good drinks that are not too sugary. I don’t recommend room service as I noticed the food quality was lower than what you would get in the restaurants. There are also plenty of restaurants in the hotel with good service, drinks, and the food was better than I had expected. Is this the best hotel in the world? No, but with the price it was definitely worth the quality I received and this is a hotel I would come back to again.

Check-in was smooth. The lobby is open, spacious, and beautiful—definitely a strong first impression. We arrived around 3 PM and visited the Preferred Lounge, but the food was just leftover brunch items and not very fresh. If you book through Expedia, note that they place a hold and you pay in full at arrival. Our room on the 10th floor (Preferred King Premium) felt outdated. Rusted faucet knobs, poor shower pressure, dim lighting, an old TV, and broken outlets next to the bed made the stay less comfortable. The beach was the highlight—absolutely perfect. The pools, however, had an overwhelming chlorine smell that made them uninviting. Food was the biggest disappointment. Portofino served cold, rubbery calamari and a steak that felt mass-produced. At the Pan-Asian spot, the sushi was lukewarm, the fried rice was bland, and the miso soup was overly salty. The Mexican restaurant was a bit better with decent steak and molcajete, but even the guacamole missed the mark. The World Cafe buffet was fine, and the omelet station stood out. Once you leave the lobby, the restaurant decor lacks effort and style. Elevators were slow and inconvenient. We probably lost about 15 minutes total just waiting for them. The staff was consistently friendly and welcoming. Everyone greeted us, which helped maintain a positive vibe throughout the stay.

When I reserved this hotel it was rated an 8.8, I feel this rating is completely over-rated. The food is subpar (5.0) the entertainment was lacking (7.5), there was construction everywhere (3.0) and the rooms need major renovations (6.0). I would rate it a 7.0 at best.

It was my husband and my first time there and we enjoyed ourselves. The staff was friendly. The only downside was we had an ocean view suite but they don't have balconies and the shower was small. Overall the resort was nice.

When I arrived I was checked in by Concierge and upgraded to a balcany room with seaview, I did not anticipate the room to have an adjoining room with gaps around that door as well as gaps around the main door and balcony door. The room was NOT quiet at all, I did raise this with the team but the only solution was to move and after a long flight, unpacking and trying to settle for a holiday I didnt really want to pack and unpack again to move rooms. Just had to deal with the noise. Hotel itself is very clean and the common areas are very well decorated and furnished. I ate in all the alacarte restaurants and would highly reccomened Gaucho and the Japanese. All the staff were very warm and welcoming. The main thing for me was the ammount of sunbeds reserved for "privilage members" was almost double the amount than for regualar guests, also the accesible part of the beach was full cover with shades so the only area you could really sunbathe was around the pool and if you didnt have a towel on it by 7,30am good luck. I did find myself sunchasing with not a lot of success when I was around the hotel. I gave it 3 out of 5 but that is mainly due to the noise in the room and how the "privilage club" got much better preference for sunbathing even though the number of people over there was minimal.

Pros: (1) As soon as we entered we were greeted with a warm eucalyptus towel for our hands. (2)We were immediately attended and provided a tour of the premises after having lunch. (3) Food was amazing lots of options and no reservations ahead of time needed. ! (4) Free kayaking and paddle boarding. Cons:(1) Before the “tour” we had to sit thru a sales pitch for about 15 minutes which was annoying. (2) HALF of the beach is for preferred members only and the other half of the beach is full of rocks and very packed. I have never seen a resort make HALF of the beach for folks who pay more. (3) No standard evening entertainment that is expected at resorts. They had a Lilo and Stich movie night, 2 guys singing indoors another night (boring) and on Monday night they had a really good singer BUT in order to get close you had to buy bottles or pay for dinner. They only put 20 chairs for the general non- paying public. (4) No casinos, no clubs nothing to do at night but eat and walk around. (5) Premises are small not much to explore and it felt very divided if you did not pay extra for the preferred packages.

The service and staff are amazing!! Misael is our favorite person on the beach! He never lets our drinks run out!! Sandra over at the spa gives amazing massages! Pastor over at the restaurants was always so attentive making us delicious food!! Made me my favorite drink, agua de Chaya . They truly make us feel like family. We’ve been here like 6 times and will continue returning!

The customer service throughout our entire stay was excellent. Specifically our beach waiter Abraham. He was pleasant, very attentive, had great suggestions for different drink and food options, and seemed like genuinely kind person. We also had great service and attentiveness in the pool area from Sergio, Magaly and Gustavo who made sure to accommodate us and our belongings in the sitting area of the pool when asked. La pasamos increíble gracias a ustedes! Muchísimas gracias Abraham, Gustavo, Sergio y Magaly! I went to this resort with a college friend for a long weekend getaway. Upon arrival, we were told our rooms were not available, and the front desk staff handed us off to additional staff who tried to upsell us on spa packages, dinners on the beach, and a two-hour presentation at the property next-door similar to a timeshare presentation. We were hot and tired from traveling and did not want to be forced into activities before we even saw the property. The food was decent, but by day three, we noticed a lot of similarities on the buffet. The evening entertainment options were very limited and pretty basic. Several of the staff members were very kind and helpful and always said hello and offered help.

We loved this resort, the staff was amazing, Lorena oue concierge was very helpful and attentive to our needs specially with our elderly mothers. Its centrally located to shops and easy walkable. Luis and Jesus, the bartenders we amazing as well. I highly recommend this location.

2nd time here I love the beach. I been many times to Cancun nothing beats dream sands beach.. The water is so clear and beautiful. Shopping, restaurants and bars are close the hotel.

Staff was very friendly and engaging. Bartenders were awesome. Food was decent for all inclusive. Asian place was our favorite. They do need some maintenance on the elevators. One would stop at every floor for no reason, and we often waited several minutes for one to arrive or gave up and took the stairs. Everything else was incredible.

This is an outdated three star property at best. The towels are crusty. I picked up a clean towel and it literally had some foreign substance on it. There is limited shade on the beach. They don’t seem to encourage tipping, which seems to be the reason why the staff is standoffish. You can’t really make reservations in advance so you end up at the buffet a lot. The food is just OK but it’s never HOT. The hibachi place was great. The beach is beautiful there. The rooms are regular. We didn’t get to see the premium side if we did maybe we would have upgraded. The pool is literally missing tiles. The only staff that seemed happy was the rec staff. They did have lots of entertainment. But it seemed to move very quickly. The people at the coffee shop were nice. They could really use some type of actual little club spot. There’s also no real private transportation so you have to use a taxi. They could really use a whole makeover. Also, the air conditioning everywhere was leaking in the buffet in the main lobby. The first day we got there our air conditioner wouldn’t turn off high and we froze all night. The second day they came and fixed it and it wouldn’t turn off a certain degree and then it was hot every day. It was literal torture. The maintenance people only come a certain day. They also didn’t tell us about the app you can order food off the app. The best way to get hot food is room service. But nothing unsafe happened. Military was on the beach.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I thought this might help the next person. I stayed 5 nights with my family and upgraded to the Preferred Club. The upgrade does have its perks, you get access to an additional breakfast option, a private pool, and premium liquor. The Preferred pool itself is great, as is the bar right next to it. The downside is that we were never able to get loungers at that pool during our entire stay. I’m not sure if people were waking up at 5 a.m. to reserve them, but every day I ended up leaving my things in a corner just to be near the pool. On the positive side, the staff was wonderful, friendly, attentive, and truly made the stay enjoyable. The beach here is also one of the best in Cancun: very clean, with water that’s far more beautiful than at other hotels I’ve visited. That said, the food overall was mediocre, with the only standout being the hibachi restaurant. They also advertise the Preferred Club rooms as “renovated,” but I found mine to be quite dated and not renovated at all. If this was the upgraded option, I can only imagine what the regular rooms look like. Overall, I did make the best of it and had a good vacation, but between the outdated room and the food quality, I don’t think I would return.

Rooms are a little outdated but the view from our room was amazing. The hotel has access to a large portion of the beach and there were plenty of pools around without it being overly crowded. Plenty of bar areas with good drinks that are not too sugary. I don’t recommend room service as I noticed the food quality was lower than what you would get in the restaurants. There are also plenty of restaurants in the hotel with good service, drinks, and the food was better than I had expected. Is this the best hotel in the world? No, but with the price it was definitely worth the quality I received and this is a hotel I would come back to again.

Check-in was smooth. The lobby is open, spacious, and beautiful—definitely a strong first impression. We arrived around 3 PM and visited the Preferred Lounge, but the food was just leftover brunch items and not very fresh. If you book through Expedia, note that they place a hold and you pay in full at arrival. Our room on the 10th floor (Preferred King Premium) felt outdated. Rusted faucet knobs, poor shower pressure, dim lighting, an old TV, and broken outlets next to the bed made the stay less comfortable. The beach was the highlight—absolutely perfect. The pools, however, had an overwhelming chlorine smell that made them uninviting. Food was the biggest disappointment. Portofino served cold, rubbery calamari and a steak that felt mass-produced. At the Pan-Asian spot, the sushi was lukewarm, the fried rice was bland, and the miso soup was overly salty. The Mexican restaurant was a bit better with decent steak and molcajete, but even the guacamole missed the mark. The World Cafe buffet was fine, and the omelet station stood out. Once you leave the lobby, the restaurant decor lacks effort and style. Elevators were slow and inconvenient. We probably lost about 15 minutes total just waiting for them. Food was terrible. Even as preferred it was first come first serve for the restaurants. Service was impeccable. Angel, Miguel, Roberto deserve a special shout out for their amazing service. Only thing good about this resort was location, beach and service. Room service ran out of wings all the time. Also got our order wrong every time.

We’ve stayed in most of the resorts in Cancun, this one felt like a prison. The lifeguard yelled at my kids for “diving” in the pool…my kids don’t know how to dive and we’re not doing so. 2 minutes later he came back and accused my kids of jumping off the middle bar and told us it was “our last warning”…it was disgusting to think we paid to be someone that treated us like this and made my kids cry. I had to show the staff my video to prove they were just swimming and not doing anything they were accused of. The lifeguard was extremely vulgar and rude. My kids asked if we could leave which we ended up doing. In addition the facility is aging and in poor condition. A lot of the beach has been lost. It would be the last hotel I would recommend in Cancun. We stayed at the hotel beside instead, Fiesta Americana, and had a wonderful experience.
