Very convenient parking across the street, room very well equipped for children, providing a cot a changing mat and a nappy bin! Breakfast included in booking which was also a good offering. Great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again

Just a one night stay at this hotel on this occasion. Pleased that the usual high standards are being maintained. Great location for the night life of Quayside and only a 1 mile walk to the shopping district. The adjacent car park is also excellent value.

Lovely hotel right on the Quayside. Ideal location with parking just behind. The rooms and were excellent, as you'd expect from a hotel of this kind. A lovely warm welcome on reception and a nice complimentary mojito. The bar was well decorated and drinks prices a little higher than the surrounding area, but to be expected in a hotel. Note they serve schooners (3/4 pint) not pints but had good draught beers and cocktails. Seats are oversized but comfy enough. Only minor bad point in the room was that the cold tap ran hot for about 1 minute before going cold, which was a pain for teeth brushing. But the beds were very comfy, TV large, USB chargers in the plugs and blackout curtains. The wifi was great and worked perfectly. All good! The service at breakfast was a little slow in spite of plenty of friendly staff, but you could get nice warm pastries while you waited. Very disappointed with the fried egg which wasn't runny and was overcooked. Almost sent it back! Otherwise o.k. food. Overall we had a superb stay and would definitely come back.

Booked as it said it had a gym which turned out to be a room on the 4th floor with a couple of machines. Parking was £10 a night on the top floor of the multi storey car park across the road. Staff were good and food was nice but over prìced for what it offers do not think i would go back

Lovely staff who went over and above.Room was very big ( twin 438) and facilities were really new. Bathroom and shower were great,beds comfortable and superb breakfast. Great location by millennium bridge. Parking was excellent -£10 including check-in day and check-out day.

A wonderful stay overall! I stayed in room 502 and had a river view, which was great! The service was excellent, the staff on the front desk were attentive and the staff in the bar and restaurant were fabulous both for evening meal and breakfast. The evening meal menu was quite lacking in my opinion. There is a room service option for both your evening meal, snacks and breakfast. There is car parking, in the multistorey car park directly across from the hotel. It’s £10 a night and served its purpose well. I did not use the spa on this occasion so can’t comment on the quality there. My only complaint, and this is a real nitpick, the toilet in the bathroom of my room, I didn’t have a great deal of space between the wall and the sink. I’m not a particularly large person but I struggled to fit in comfortably. Perhaps this was a design oversight, but it was a bit of a tight squeeze. Other than that, it’s excellent. Can’t wait to stay again!

Dated and dark interior. Back rooms are cold and noisy due to poor glazing. Top of rain shower head had about 20 years of accumulated grime. Never cleaned. Location good for quayside but it's not a luxury option.

Lovely overnight stay. Staff on reception were exceptionally helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay special. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. The double room was nice with a view, bed on the smaller side and it was hot overnight. Air conditioning didn’t appear to be working. Bathroom very clean with toiletries and a big bath. Hotel is lovely and plush, great atmosphere and very clean. Great stay will return.

Unfortunately the stay wasn’t great. The room wasn’t clean. There was a layer of dust on pretty much everything. It seems room hasn’t been cleaned for a long time. It was reported to the hotel front desk staff too, who did apologise for the unclean and dusty room. I am Not sure if I want to stay there again.

We stayed in a club deluxe bridge view room. View was stunning. Room was nice except the bathroom. It was so small you couldn’t even open the door all the way. Expected more from it considering this isn’t one of their standard rooms. The room service number they show on the TV actually puts you through to another room. When we managed to get the actual room service number to ring no one picked up and we had to go through reception.

Had a suite. Recently refurbished. It was OK. Three things though: The paint on the woodwork and doors wasn’t keyed right, so it scratched off very easily. It will look bad in no time. TV had Chromecast, which is dated and just doesn’t work. A complete waste of time. You can’t stream to the TV nor was Netflix / Prime available. Zero plug sockets in the living area. Impossible to plug an iPad or laptop in to watch streaming TV.

Good hotel, room was large and well appointed, however the curtains didn’t fit properly allowing early morning sun to get through, so no lay in. Also very early 3-4 bins getting emptied (bottles) meant a disturbed sleep.

Upgraded to a newly renovated jr suite. It was beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable with amazing views of the Tyne Bridge and castle. Staff were wonderful. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Good location with lots of nice restaurants and things to see nearby.

Nice stay in Newcastle Malmaison. Great building in a good location over looking Millennium Bridge. Standard Double room was good except for one complaint. I have stayed in many hotels but have never seen a toilet crammed into a space between a sink and bath like this. Unless a person is built like Rodney Trotter, certain daily toilet functions will be a struggle due to the lack of room !! Having spoken to reception, it seems the hotel is aware of this and certain other rooms also have the same issue.

The bar service and breakfast service were excellent however the receptionist on check-in was appalling. There was no indication that the usual car park for the hotel was unavailable and I spent a considerable amount of time trying to find the Malmaison floor (marked as level 4 on entry to the car park but this was cordoned off) so I parked in a general spot & went to check in only to be told by the receptionist that I was in the wrong car park & needed to move my car to a car park further up the road. When I pointed out that there was no signage to indicate this he said ‘it’s on the website’ I subsequently looked & couldn’t see it but am at a loss to know why I would look at the website expecting changes to the car park. I also overheard him telling another guest (very bluntly) that he was too late for his dinner booking and that the restaurant had closed. Room and bathroom were tired, water excessively hot in the shower (temperature could not be lowered)

Had an amazing stay at the Malmaison Newcastle as soon as we arrived we were greeted by Penny on reception who was very friendly. We were asked the purpose of our stay, as soon as we informed Penny it was for our 25th Wedding Anniversary she immediately upgraded our room and added breakfast to the room also. This made our stay more amazing and this was all thanks to the reception staff Penny At breakfast the staff were very attentative and Tiros also made us very welcome. Due to the staff and how they dealt with us during our stay I wouldnt hesitate to return

Staff were so friendly and accommodating here in both reception and the restaurant. The room was generously sized and comfortable. We had dinner at the hotel before our theatre trip which was excellent. Great views of the Millennium Bridge. Only negative comments - there was no conditioner in the bathroom. For somewhere which is offering free menstrual kits (bravo - this touch is amazing!) it would have been nice to have hair conditioner too. Also the check in process did seem to take quite a while and there was a big queue when we arrived around 4pm which took a while to get through. However it’s hard to balance quality service with speed hence why overall this still deserved 5 stars.

On Newcadtle historic quayside next to millennium bridge. Faboukouscsetting. Easy reach of neecadtle city carparkimg to rear of hotel. Good size rooms quit super comfortable. Modern themed bathroom with ovebath rain head shower. Nice and powerful. Tv ,ironing board, mini fridge,hairdryer modern themed bedroom subdued lighting everything is class. Breakfast room floor 1 overlooking River tyne and the bridges. Outstanding service from Tessie felt as though we had known her for years so attentive with personal touch. Faboulus cooked breakfast with continental buffet fresh teas and coffees Visit and you won't regret it

On the whole this one might stay was very good. We had a great view from the room over the Millenium Bridge. Check in was seemless. Room service for afternoon food was fast and great food. We had a night cap in the bar which didn’t break the bank. We had full English breakfast, which to be honest was a little cold and lacked the customary good quality seen in the room service food. The pastries and coffee made up for it.

I love the Malmaison and have been coming here for years. However, the rooms are in need of a some love and attention. The furniture is worn and the bathrooms have seen better days. Still a great hotel in an amazing location just needs some well deserved investment. Also the restaurant menu is a little restrictive which meant we had to eat out both nights. Staff fantastic as ever.

Bed was comfortable Had a meal and the burger was very nice. Handy parking available close to the hotel. Service in restaurant was a bit poor, waitress took drink order and suggested olives which we agreed to. After a while went searching as no drinks arrived. No olives came before the meal either. Never thought to check the bill to see if they were charged for. Hotel felt cool and was borderline uncomfortable. My husband left his coat on all throughout the meal. Just felt like staff going through the motions and were busy on something else rather than your service. The only friendly service was from the gentleman who brought our food to the table. Never once asked if everything was okay and had to get up more than once to ask for drink orders.

We often have an overnight stay when we have a something to celebrate. Yesterday was our Nephew's 30th birthday. The Malmaison in Newcastle never disappionts. Fabulous staff. Lovely rooms and a fabulous breakfast.

We stayed for two nights in a junior suite, the hotel was clean and tidy, staff were all friendly and welcoming. The bar and cocktails were lovely. Unfortunately the dinner menu was not great so we ate out both nights and luckily there are many options for food and drink close by. We did have a problem with breakfast on the second day (food was burnt) we returned the plate and then got the wrong replacement food and still burnt, after raising with the restaurant manager it was refunded so no significant impact on the rest of our stay.

Staff are super friendly, especially Rachel who had perfect customer service FOH. Evening meal was amongst the best I have tasted. The prawn and chicken starters and the blue cheese and caramelised burger was AMAZING! Would definately stay at this hotel again.
