Great location, good hotel. Clean and relatively new condition. Parking os not ideal.. A public multi storey which is right next door. But most spaces reserved for members so I had to park on the 12th floor. Courtyard outside is shared and has no road markings and there was at least one near miss while I was there

Parking in front of the hotel for the luggage has beenpossible. Late check out has been possible. Parkhouse with additional payment nearby. An aircondition for a house nearby makes a lot of noise.

Nice comfy hotel handy for seeing and enjoying Newcastle. Welcoming and professional Geordie staff. Nice place to stay. Parking right next door, plenty of safe space for the car. Would happily come back.

Staff were great. Hotel is a standard holiday inn with a silly overpriced cost. Parking is a multi story adjacent with the usual minute spaces & ridiculous navigation issues. Relatively expensive too. £13 overnight. Hotel is well situated for most of the city centre stuff

Although i'm a local booked Valentines night to avoid late night taxi queues (i needn't have bothered Newcastle was very quiet). The hotel is close enough to the city centre but in a slightly quieter area. The staff were very friendly and our hotel room 419 was great, no bath but nice shower, clean and tidy. We tried the bar, still serving around midnight, again friendly staff. The breakfast was fine and nowhere near as busy as i expected. Would use the hotel again

Usually choose HI express when in Newcastle. Easy to drive to , car park next door , everything we need (pubs and gigs) in easy walking distance. Staff always locals so helpful and friendly

Just awful won't stay there again dirty room. Guest that tried to get in our room very drunk at 6.30am. So no sleep bed uncomfortable. Got a stiff shoulder. Complaint going into head office. Breakfast was awful like rubber couldn't eat it not worth what we paid. However staff were lovely

Our room was very clean and had everything we needed, tea/coffee makings, hair drier and iron with ironing board. The beds were comfortable and the shower was powerful, we were only staying one night but would happily book again. Great location in Newcastle.

We took our grandson in family room ,he loved it! Shower was lovely ,room was spotless, breakfast had lots choice. We were visiting Life Centre which was round the corner. We were able to leave our luggage at hotel while visiting Life Centre. Price for family room with breakfast was excellent ,even tho school holidays . Will definatly return .

A return stay after visiting the Northumbria Coast. I don't think this stay was as good as the first one. The shower gel had run out on the day of arrival and although this was reported it remained empty over the two night stay. Despite this, it was a comfortable stay with good facilities and a good choice at breakfast.

Very random room cleaning, sometimes beds were made, other days not. Four in the room and each day we were given less and less towels? Sofa bed was very poor quality, and in disrepair. Bathroom was old and tired. Positive was breakfast and location

Good location and all fine, except after a night on the “Too.,” Got back to find the Air Con would not work. Opened the window, but even on the 5th floor, the noise from revellers, emergency services sirens and various office alarms in the early hours meant for a poor nights sleep. To be fair on checking out the person on the desk was polite and said they would have fixed it, had we bought it to there attention.

A lovely stay. Fantastic location, very helpful staff and a good breakfast. Secure parking next door so we could forget about car during our stay. Rooms are very small with sofa bed folded down for a family of 4. The sofa bed mattress had definitely seen better days it was very uncomfortable.

The hotel is quite close to the station and the city centre and easily accessible. The friendly staff who checked us in were very helpful and efficient. The room was clean and had a good TV and drinks availability. As we were going out the cleaning team were working on the room upkeep and seemed very happy. Excellent quality breakfast, plenty of options and freshly cooked. Only slight criticism would be no tea or coffee in the bar area when we got back in the afternoon, but offered extra tea bags for the room. Would be happy to stay here again.

Room was fine check in Man was rude critical of our choice of food that evening so rude ! Breakfast we went down at 08.15 queued to get a table then there was no hot food other than beans and tomatoes . They had run out of bacon has browns sausages eggs no croissant no pancakes or pastries and then no bread for toast !!! Ended up with a bowl of cereal and some beans. ! How can a. Hotel serving breakfast run out an hour before end of service . Certainly won’t stay there again £13 to park car and insulted at checking in then not getting any decent breakfast had to go to local Greggs for a bacon roll . Never been so disappointed in a holiday inn express if they knew they were just surely they should ensure there was ample food . No apology they just expect you To accept only choice is cereal left at 08.30 and hot drinks . Even fruit was only oranges no banana or apples. No yoghurts total shambles what on earth did I pay for ?? Wish we had stayed at a competitor now . Absolutely won’t use this hotel again. Only good thing was comfy bed but the pillows were hard heating was noisy kept coming in randomly disturbing out sleep . Really think I’d have been better off sleeping in car as didn’t get what I paid for ! Unhappy customer.

Just returned from a weekend break in Newcastle. Hotel was spotless and had a central location, convenient for the station, shopping, restaurants and pubs. Decent breakfast.There was a bit of external noise from the inevitable police/ambulance sirens and the usual stag and hen parties returning in the early hours, which is typical of many city centres. Service was good, barring one member of the bar staff who thought their priority was to replenish the fridges rather than serve their only customer (me). "I'll be with you in a minute" after ignoring me for a couple on mins while filling the first fridge, then going onto start filling a second one, before I decided not to bother buying a drink there. I wonder if they would consider saying the same thing to a fridge, "I'll be with you in a minute, while I serve this customer"? No, I thought not. I'd hope it was a one-off.

Perfect location in heart of Newcastle, a five minute walk from the train and metro. An outstanding staff (special nod to Mickey) who were unfailingly helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast and dining area. Rooms were comfortable and very quiet. Stayed for two weeks while visiting our daughter and was the perfect base for day trips and for exploring Newcastle. We will absolutely return and highly recommend.

We were 4 mature Rugby supporters from Newport staying in Newcastle for a European Cup rugby match. We were looking for a hotel near the centre and this fitted the bill perfectly. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and perfectly adequate for 3 nights stay. Breakfast was very good and well stocked with the usual food from the continental menu or the English choice and you could have as much as you wanted. Location was easy to walk around city centre and 5 mins to central station.

Reception staff could not have done anymore. Was disappointed with the choices for breakfast, we normally stay at a premier inn and much prefer the breakfast there. Also coffee machine was out of service the whole time we were here. I must admit a nice bean coffee is a must to set you up for the day ahead. Instant coffee in the rooms doesn’t have the same effect.

Chaotic hotel! breakfast was a complete disaster, no eggs available (we are waiting for delivery) no more yoghurt ( sorry out) coffee machine didn’t work well, staff fully overstrained and unorganised. Check out difficult, invoice was not able to be printed, announced email never received….

The first thing thing to hit you is the reception staff , so polite helpful and friendly ! The reception area , clean and had a welcome feeling. The room we had must have been refurbished as it had in place the things you needed , like somewhere to hang your coats and my wife said a shower with a folding door . The man at the reception was so helpful in giving advice on the places to see and how to get there . Breakfast was great! My wife and I (we are in our early eighties)decided on a whim to spend a few days in Newcastle and we loved the city and the hotel made it great

The only thing I found lacking was the quality of the breakfast, good options but only just passable for eating, cold beans, claggy eggs, over-stood ‘hard’ hash browns & ultra cheap sausage Otherwise everything was great 👍
