Well located hotel very close to Tyneside Metro and easy walk into City Centre Plenty of parking, including EV charging. Had room on the back which was quiet and had everything for our needs. All the staff we spoke to were lovely. We thought the price was very reasonable.

The heating/AC unit was not working in our room and the ceiling vents caused a draught which made the room feel even colder, so we used the plug-in radiator which was adequate enough to heat the room after roughly an hour. Because the room was cold, it made the bed feel cold too, so bedding down wasn't a cosy experience and I'm glad i took my pyjama's otherwise it would have been difficult to get to sleep. The lift broke down on Friday night and it was very difficult to navigate through the corridors to find our way around. We made reception aware of this, for health & safety reasons and suggested they sign post the exit for guests. We were told it would be done but the next morning, nothing had changed and we found ourselves again, roaming aimlessly around the building, trying to get out of the building, which we did by stumbling across the fire exit door to the car park. I was disappointed that we had to pay £10 per night for parking as last time we stayed here, there wasn't a charge.

Great stay - lovely and clean. Breakfast was excellent- staff super helpful. Parking at extra charge adds up over a few days. Would stay again and great for visiting the university.

The location is good. Hotel reception and dining room is very modern. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Hotel Room needs updating especially the bathroom. Found a jumper under a chair which meant the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. Staff very friendly. Car parking is limited.

Nice place near the metro. On site parking. The hotel is a bit of a maze. Rooms are spacious. No hair dryer wife was annoyed with that!! Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was spot on. Nice layout of food as you would expect. Over all good stay.

A convenient location for arriving by car. Car park part of the hotel building. Publuc rooms nicely decorated with lots of comfy seating. A Starbucks in the foyer gave another option for breakfast or snack..Our room was large and very clean. Lots of choice at buffet breakfast. The hot food was about the best cooked Ive had in a hotel. Friendly helpful staff too.

Comfy and clean as usual as i am a regular here, great breakfast and great restaurant for an evening meal, the bar also comes in handy. Friendly and helpful staff The only negative for me is the onsite parking, not a great car park , small and tight especially if the hotel is busy , dont like it but there is nowhere else available

Car park is an additional cost and there is no alternative but to use it - no street parking. It’s also inadequate - there were no spaces when I tried to park and the receptionist just said there was nothing she could do as they don’t own the car park. If that’s the only option for guests, I don’t think that’s good enough.

The hotel is well located with parking for the city, short metro journey or cab ride also a lot of local bars and restaurants in jesmond close by. The hotel is well appointed with an italian style and and american style restaurant. There is a coffee bar serving starbucks in the reception. We didnt have breakfast as there a number of places nearby but it seemed busy whilst we were there. The rooms are simple but well appointed, staff are very helpful and friendly. For the price point this is an all round good place to stay for a weekend in Jesmond

Convenient position, but the Holiday Inn is now looking a little run down. Our curtains were torn, drinking glasses were dirty, under the bed was very dusty, restaurant staff were not very welcoming. Front of House Manager, who I think was new, was very helpful and seemed to be doing everything. The king bed was very comfortable!

The only bad thing about the stay was the bathroom had not been cleaned. There was feaces in the toilet, green and yellow liquid on the shower curtain and the bathroom sink’s plug was broken on arrival as it was pushed down and when trying to open up the plug it would not so the sink was full of water when used. Staff were extremely friendly and polite

Fantastic stay. Location is excellent, 2 minute walk to the metro station. Staff very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is spotless. Didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food but the menu in the room seems to cater for everyone toiletries supplied. Normally in hotels it’s shampoo/ body wash. This one has separate shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is a fridge in the room with bottled water, an iron and ironing board and a safe. Bed is comfortable. Absolutely no complaints

Very dated rooms, very drafty windows (109) especially the bathroom as the window does not close fully and blows open. Shower curtain in bathroom was damp on arrival and the bathroom blind was mouldy. Very noisy fans throughout night.

Our stay was fabulous from start to finish.... Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and well appointed...clean and comfy too (house keeping were very attentive) . Breakfast was very nice and the staff in the restaurant really friendly and attentive too.... The hotel was clean too.... we thought it was really good and would stay again if we were here again. Stayed one night only - visiting great niece at Uni. Common parts of hotel are very good but our room was a little warn & in need of a refurb. Whilst we got used to it in the end the room had a mild malodor but not sure what it was. Plenty of hot water, good breakfast & on site parking. Overall ideal for short stay but rooms do need upgrading.

I stay here a lot and the staff are always friendly and efficient so that’s the good part. However, the rooms at the front of the hotel overlooking a major road are far too noisy with the existing glazing. I wore earplugs and could still clearly hear the traffic throughout most of the night, keeping me awake for all but three hours. Not acceptable if you’re looking for a good nights sleep. Buyer beware.

Room was great , however bed was very sunken in the middle. Only issue was we were above the reception room of a wedding taking place , luckily we were out most of the evening but it was very loud in our room. Additionally we were close to car park and could hear cars going over ramps repeatedly. Staff were lovely and breakfast was great.

Staff were great, breakfast was excellent, shower was very good, amenities were terrific. The location is on a busy road so there was some noise and the room felt a bit neglected in that there were a few bits of wear and tear, the extractor fan rattled loudly, the tv tended to freeze and the usb charge point was dead.

I would like to congratulate all the staff at holiday inn Jesmond for their willingness to help , excellent service , caring attitude and smiling faces !!! I had a most enjoyable stay and was very comfortable . staff went out their way to help specially dining room staff and chefs Mark and Paulo who looked after my friend who had lactose and gluten intolerances . nothing was a problem to all staff . thank you very much .

A two night stopover while dropping our daughter at uni. Staff were fantastic, all of those we spoke with were very helpful and just nice to chat with. The room was fine. Breakfast decent and dinner in the restaurant was good too. The price was very reasonable.

Such warm and welcoming staff at reception who helped us with local knowledge, restaurant recommendations and information about student life in Newcastle! Very friendly - would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying over to look at universities.

Stayed for 2 nights,and used the car park £10 charge per night.We enjoyed our stay ,the hotel is within 200 metres of Jesmond Meto Station ,for the centre of the city exit at Monument station ,everything of interest is within easy reach from there.( best value ticket = Day Saver £ 4-80 p .Breakfat was good .

I always stay here when I am in Newcastle. A welcoming, clean, friendly, comfortable home from home. Great staff. Reasonably priced in a lovely location: Jesmond's quiet streets, parks and cafes. It's a student-centred neighbourhood but also full of families. Easy to get to the centre of the city walking or by Metro.

We had an issue with our room which was quickly sorted by the team. The rooms are good; quite considering it’s on the main road; bathrooms are quite small but absolutely do the job. A bit annoying having to pay for parking but decent location very close to the metro. Overall, a great location just outside of town.

Lovely staff. Fantastic breakfast. Great location, three minutes walk from the metro and approx 12 mins walk to the Haymarket. One problem was the road noise, we were in a room overlooking the road and needed ear plugs as it's a busy road. Overall though I would stay here again

Good place for exploring Newcastle and the North East. Clean, big spacious rooms, good breakfast, just 250 meters to Jesmond Metro Station. Great staff, all very friendly and helpful.

I have stayed in IHG hotels around the world and this I can safely say was the worst. The bed was unfit for purpose and the mattress was ready to be thrown away. The dining room was expensive but the food was cold. Breakfast was the same. The staff could not heat a pancake up and the coffee was near undrinkable. I made a complaint to the front desk but the duty manager Oscar wasnt due in until the afternoon. As an IHG hotel I expected better and at the very least a bed that one could fall asleep in. Which we didnt. Why should I pay for a room With a bed that is unsleepable in. I made my feelings known but they were unable to do anything.
