Centrally located Hotel from which you can visit every place you want in Milano with an idyllic garden (courtyard). Tram station/Bus Station etc. are nearby. Staff is nice and helpful. Rooms are clean and big enough, air conditioned. The furniture in the rooms are dated but for staying few days, it is good enough. Do not expect to much from the breakfast. It is good but not varied (would say typical italian breakfast). parking in the street is not possible and hotel does not have own parking spaces. if you come with car, you have to us the parking house "Machiavelli Parking" (costs round about 30€/day) and is near to the hotel.

Friendly staff, got an upgrade to a room that fits four people which was gigantic. However I do feel some parts of the hotel are dated. The bathtub didn't hold the water, so was useless. There was no air circulation in the room, only in the bathroom. I found out too late that there was an extra panel outside of the window to hold the light, so woke up very early because the curtains didnt hold the light. And the gym was also dated in a basement with old equipment..No proper dumbells or a bench. I didn't use the cardio machines. For me breakfast wasn't worth it. Better options in the area. Overall I would stay again for the price, but then with different expectations.

Staff was great. We had no place to leave the car for check-in, but the staff was very responsive and helpful with that. Very much appreciated. Room was a good size but dark, and the lighting was not great.

All in all: gute Lage des Hotels nahe Metro Porta Venezia, Personal nett und umsichtig, Unser Zimmer 5. Etage allerdings keine 4 Sterne, bräuchte ein neues Outfit. Fitnessraum: etwas düster im Keller, das Licht geht alle paar Minuten aus, nur bei Bewegung wieder an. Sollte man ändern. Ausserdem knallt ständig eine Tür zu, wenn die Angestellten runterliefen.

The property had caracter. Unfortunately the gym was in disrepair, with brocken machines. If you need a gym in your stay that is not the place to stay. If you are looking for a clean place with some caracter and close to the center you can have a pleasant stay.

Conveniently located, the staff here are exceptional. Breakfast was excellent and the garden area is a nice place to relax any time of the day. The only complaint I have is the pillows on the bed are very hard but as I’ve discovered, that’s the norm in Italy. I would definitely stay here again.

Great little property with a lovely courtyard bar - 10 mins walk to the main train station and 30 minute walk to Duomo, with lots of small bars and restaurants close by too. I’m a solo female traveller and didn’t feel unsafe walking to and from the hotel after dinner, would definitely recommend!

We loved everything about staying at Hotel Sanpi! This location is very convenient and walkable to the train, attractions, shopping and a great food district, yet the hotel also provides a quiet haven with its garden on premises. The staff take pride and have commitment to excellent service. We selected this hotel based on the great reviews on Expedia. Thank you. It was perfect.

We booked 2 family rooms and were assigned 2 Maisonette rooms. I did not complain to the staff at the time because we had a full schedule and no time to change hotels and I did not want to ruin my vacation with a verbal back and forth. Facts: 1. there were ants on the floor, bed and pillow- I have video. 2. black mold on the shower head and shower walls and glass - have photos. 3. One of my guests stayed in a top loft where the fabric back board was stained and there was garbage under the bed. She changed beds and her room because she was not comfortable. 4. The bidet drain was broken. 5. We sat on our first day on the cafe chairs which were inviting and had coffee and croissants from a local vegan bakery. We were quickly told that we couldn’t sit there by a male staff member. And that it was reserved for the restaurant. We were embarrassed because he was quite upset and we picked up our breakfast and went to our room. Unfortunately we did not have a terrace (like other rooms) to have our breakfast. Perhaps a classier way to handle the situation would have been to say “I am so sorry but the garden is reserved for the restaurant and we frown upon outside food, please finish your meal but I just wanted to let you know. Is there anything I can bring you? Again my apologies” BTW there were no signs, menus or any indication that the outdoor area was part of the restaurant and there were many people outside with no food smoking and reading books.

Das Zimmer war klamm. Unsere Sachen waren alle feucht und muffelig. Das Bett hat bei jeder Bewegung geknarzt. Der Vorhang an dem einen Fenster zum Innenhof war defekt. Im Flur eine Baustelle. Ansonsten war das Zimmer Recht groß und die Klimaanlage Recht leise.

Convenient for the central station. Our 3 person family room was a good size but dark as the ground floor windows were shuttered. Breakfast was ok. One point was one of our fresh towels was stained with what looked like fake tan. This was remedied immediately when I notified the reception.

We stayed in room 121. Convenient location to tram stop we used several times. Lots of Asian cuisine options nearby. Room carpet had not been vacuumed. Safe was broken. Old urine on floor around toilet which stunk. This room was ground level so people walking on street and loitering were loud while sleeping. Also the shutters could be opened from outside by people on street to peer in your room. There was a lockable window and a sheer curtain, but didn’t like that at all.We could see out. I have a picture, but not sure I can upload.

Maybe our expectations were unrealistic having just come from Florence and Siena, recognizing Milan is an expensive city, but I hope I never have to stay in this hotel again. The staff were fantastic throughout, and when my wife found a bunch of bugs crawling around our original room, they immediately moved us into another part of the hotel (though the maid did give her some attitude that she was “only” killing 5-6 per minute… which still feels like a lot??). The new room was larger, but clearly overdue for a reno. Very spacious bathroom, much larger than anywhere else we’ve been in Italy, but there was significant amount of mold, mildew and rust all around the shower, grouting. Even the towel stand (that had all the clean towels on it) had significant levels of rust. Turning on the AC resulting in a strong mildew smell in the room and developed a strong cough after 4 nights. Also, the wifi is unreliable in the rooms - I could only get one wifi bar in the bathroom so not great if you have any work to do, nevertheless streaming or anything else data intensive. You will need a good roaming/e sim plan. The garden bar is nice and we always enjoyed a spritz or Prosecco down there, but we’re happy to finally leave the hotel.

I had to switch rooms three times throughout my stay. The rooms are overall very small and old with facilities often not working. The elevator wait was also very long. I also didn't like how the hotel leak information about me and allowing people to visit rooms when other people are still staying in. My friend easily found my room through the front desk and got a card without the hotel informing me. I think this is a very big liability issue.

El hotel me parece que esta mas cerca de ser tres estrellas que 4. Es un hotel viejo con cierto encanto por sus areas comunes, patio, bar y restaurante. Las habitaciones remodeladas, todas distintas en tamaño y mobiliario pueden parecer un poco improvisadas en su decoración. también un poco oscuras y ruidosas. El bar y quien lo atiende hace que el lugar sea agradable y se antoje utilizar las areas comunes del patio.

The room is very outdated which wood be fine look wise but the beds were rock hard. It was so uncomfortable sleeping on the beds for a whole week but the worst thing for me was there was no insolation on the windows so you can hear the street noise like you have the window completely open even though it’s closed. I had to sleep with noise cancelling headphones the whole time and the street noise people yelling, revving engines were every night, it did not matter what day it was weekend or weekday everynight I would have to try to sleep through it.

Very spacious bathroom, much larger than anywhere else we’ve been in Italy, but there was significant amount of mold, mildew and rust all around the shower, grouting. Even the towel stand (that had all the clean towels on it) had significant levels of rust. Turning on the AC resulting in a strong mildew smell in the room and developed a strong cough after 4 nights. Also, the wifi is unreliable in the rooms - I could only get one wifi bar in the bathroom so not great if you have any work to do, nevertheless streaming or anything else data intensive. You will need a good roaming/e sim plan. The garden bar is nice and we always enjoyed a spritz or Prosecco down there, but we’re happy to finally leave the hotel.
Maybe our expectations were unrealistic having just come from Florence and Siena, recognizing Milan is an expensive city, but I hope I never have to stay in this hotel again. The staff were fantastic throughout, and when my wife found a bunch of bugs crawling around our original room, they immediately moved us into another part of the hotel (though the maid did give her some attitude that she was “only” killing 5-6 per minute… which still feels like a lot??). The new room was larger, but clearly overdue for a reno. The manager/ host on reception in the evenings was very inhospitable. Whilst he did what was required, he ignored me at times whilst I was there, didn't greet me warmly, gave rude instructions to his staff, and generally was in a bad mood every time I engaged with him. We loved everything about staying at Hotel Sanpi! No lo recomendaría… Vine a pasar unos días antes de navidad, llegamos el día 20 al rededor de las 4pm nos chequeamos y nos dieron la habitación. Luego de entrar an ella notamos que la cama hacía un ruido bastante fuerte al sentarse, moverse, etc. Notificamos a recepción y nos ofrecían “la única disponible” que se encontraba al otro lado del edificio, no pasó mucho tiempo hasta que nos percatamos de que el aire no servía, llamando a recepción a ver si podían mirarlo. Al cabo de un tiempo subieron y se dieron cuenta de que no servía, cambiándonos nuevamente a la habitación anterior y prometiéndonos que a la mañana siguiente nos cambiarían a otra. Obviamente esto no sucedió, nos quedamos impactados al ver que ninguna de las personas de recepción fueron amables y más al hacer el check out cuando informamos de cómo fue nuestra estadía el hombre nos trató de una manera terrible… Sobretodo es un hotel muy antiguo, paredes sucias, camas que suenan y un personal no muy agradable

The Hotel was marvelous! Rooms clean and kept cool. Staff was always courteous and helpful. Breakfast was great! Everything was great about the hotel, but the location. It little out of way with a 10 min. walk to the nearest Metro. And there really wasn't many restaurants near.

The staff is very warm and friendly. Breakfast options are pretty decent. The proximity of this hotel is pretty central as you can walk to the train station 5mins away to get the train. Duomo is 15mins away by train. Very wide range of restaurants/cuisines on the same street as the hotel. It was a very pleasant stay. No issues. We didn’t try to park as it seemed kinda hard.

Great little property with a lovely courtyard bar - 10 mins walk to the main train station and 30 minute walk to Duomo, with lots of small bars and restaurants close by too. I’m a solo female traveller and didn’t feel unsafe walking to and from the hotel after dinner, would definitely recommend!

Good location but the beds and pillows weren’t the best. The breakfast was ok. The protein eggs and ham would run out quick and they wouldn’t refill them so you were stuck with crossaints and yogurt mainly. For some reason at certain parts of the day the room would smell horrible I think the smell came from the toilets. Not nice at all. I would rate this Hotel pretty average only. From the train station it’s like a 15 min walk but with luggage it’s a struggle. I don’t think I would book this hotel again.

The Hotel had everything we needed. The train station is just around the corner, and Porta Venezia is easily reachable by foot. The Central Station is also nearby. The breakfast was excellent, we really appreciated the many clearly marked vegan options and Ms. Maria and staff were always friendly and helpful. This hotel is a good choice in Milan. We will definitely come back!

The bar and dining area of this hotel was very nice with all the plants and the bartender was very friendly. The reception staff were very helpful and accommodating and appreciated their help when my aircon wasn’t working. The hotel is only a short walk to Milano Centrale Station. The restaurants across the road and around the corner were very good for dinner.

I love the decor of the hotel inside and outside on the courtyard. I also loved the breakfast buffet, the many options and great service as well as the staff at the front desk. They were very nice and attentive, so much that the day we were leaving, we needed to leave very early to catch a train and they requested for breakfast to be packed for us to eat on the train. That was above and beyond hospitality at plus. I will definitely recommend this hotel.
