La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Cleveland Independence

Elevator out of service , no pop vending working, no WIFI, floors weren’t swept in our room. I will make a real effort to let people I work with and know about this chain. I’ll stay with Holiday Express,, no concerns never an issie.

Refrigerator and microwave didnt work

For what I paid I had hoped for a mini fridge in my room. I stayed 3 nights. So I could not bring back any leftovers. Also I had to keep going to the 3rd floor for ice since the ice machine on my floor did not work. Hugh inconvenience.

The hotel is old and needs carpet replaced. The TV did not work in our room, along with outlets on the same wall. Staff put us in another room and was very nice about it. Rooms could have been cleaner.

Good location. But elevator was broke shower head needs replaced in 231 and toilet doesnt stop running. Bed was super comfy and ac worked great. Overall good stay just a few things need touched up

No power

We had signed up for King size bed with all the amenities. Except there was no refrigerator, elevator was not able to be used, and ice machine was out of order. The linen was available only for one person when there was two of us. The bathroom had it separate sink and it was located in the hall as you opened the door. However the morning breakfast was quite satisfactory.

Decent hotel, nice staff, easy on/ off highway, Good coffee. Unfortunately, if you are traveling with a dog..they have NO GREEN SPACE WHATSOEVER...none!

Bed was filled with, what I hope was crumbs. Bathtub was absolutely filthy. The ice machine was broken.

This hotel is very run down. The elevator is dirty and the door closes almost immediately, making it unsafe. Amenities are misleading — there is no gym despite being advertised. The rooms are in poor condition and need much better cleaning. My bathroom had visible mold, and the extractor fan was both filthy and extremely noisy. Parking is also a problem since spaces are taken up by people from a nearby bar, leaving little availability for guests. One of the worselt breakfast ever seen. Had to get something outside. Overall, very disappointing stay.

Cigarette smoke smell in room. Changed rooms, same smell. Avoid.

My room wasn’t clean. My sheets had blood on them. When I called the front desk I was told there wasn’t anymore sheets and the rooms were all sold out. I wasn’t offered a penny back.

This was the worse experience I have had at this line of hotels The room was filthy, the smell in the hallways and room was unbearable We left and ended up booking down the road when I brought this to the attention of the front desk I was told they had no other rooms and since I booked through a 3rd party there was nothing they could do DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER

Beds are extremely comfortable but the place is a pigsty!! They do not clean or vacuum their rooms very well at all. Not to mention how outdated and nasty the bathroom was.

Upon entering the lobby appeared to be neat. The check in process was lengthy. Once into our room there was a dirty tissue in the floor. A pair of sunglasses, not ours, laying in the desk chair. The doors were dirty and the air was very humid and the room smelled moldy. The bathroom was in desperate need of updating, with the tub having rust spots in it and the caulking was moldy. Whoever is in charge of housekeeping needs retrained. The hotel is pet friendly which I love, however,I do not want to sleep with dog hair. The comforter and decorative topper was full of dog hair. We did not check in until almost 2 am so we did stay but I would never recommend.

The bed was comfortable. The room was not cleaned properly. The tub had mold that easily could be washed off. The toilet seat was slid to the side. The hairdryer was covered with dust and blood marks. The bottom of the bathtub was rounded which made it dangerous to stand in for a shower. In our view all these things were not what we would expect from a Wyndham property.

Many families were facing the same issues, staff was rude and argumentative and not resolving anything. Will never stay here again.

The bed linens were clean and the staff was very nice, but I would not stay again. The bathroom had mildew in the shower. One of the bath towels had a huge hole in it. The room had a very musty smell, or as if they had tried to use cleaner to hide a smell. The breakfast was very limited, not like pictures showed. Overall it was just ok. I was by myself for work, but I would not have stayed if I had come with my family.

The bathroom toilet seat was damaged and dirty. Sheets appeared dirty.

Staff & Front desk were pleasant & helpful. Rooms were okay furniture is worn & dated. Needs more lighting in main area. The bathtub was not level, water never drained properly & was very slippery, almost broke my neck getting out of the tub after showering. Would like to see some fresh fruit besides oranges for breakfast. The elevator had some sort of weird odor, like auto oil, urine, & pine cleaner. May want to replace floor in elevator?

It could use a makeover. Everything outdated.

Could use some updating. Room had a lot of areas to charge phones and electric outlets! Needs a better shower head.

The walls were paper, thin and we heard people above us and below us all night long. Not the cleanest room either.

The hotel was just average. Wasn't super clean, but also not unbearably dirty. We were there for 7 days and nobody serviced our room at all. We had to go down and keep asking for fresh towels and toilet paper. Only paid $550 for our time there, so you get what you pay for. The bed was comfortable though and the rooms seemed to have updated features as well.

Portions of the hotel are deteriorating. The carpet outside our room's door was loose to the point of being a trip hazard and was dirty. The walls in the hallway outside our room had multiple dents and dings which need to be repaired and touched up with paint. We also noted spots in our room similar to this. The door to the bathroom was in poor condition, appeared beat up and was a pocket door design. The latch was missing screws and the door would not slide fully closed. It remained open approximately an inch. The hand towel rack was broken. One part of the bracket was still attached to the wall and the rest was missing. The carpet in the room was frayed and becoming a trip hazard at the point where it met up with the tile. Some of the baseboard molding near the sink was missing. Our room was immediately next to the elevator and it made loud mechanical noises that constantly disturbed us the entire stay. Overall this property needs some work to bring it up to good condition.The Hotels.com reviews that we read said nothing about any of these issues. It was disappointing to arrive and find out that the condition of the hotel did not match the reviews we read prior to booking this site.

Tired, dated facility. Hallway carpeting poorly layed, like walking on rolling foam. Soap dispensers in shower mounted in the middle of the side of the narrow stall, making it an obstacle.

The sink was stopped up after you brush your teeth! The water wouldn’t go down completely until you turned it off! The refrigerator need an update and the microwave need to be replaced with a newer one.

Non-smoking room smelled like smoke-like it had been smoked in for years. The toilet didn’t flush properly. The tub drain needed to be cleaned-it filled with water as we showered. When the door to the room was closed, you could see light all around the perimeter. There was a flood light for the parking lot that made the room look bright at midnight-and the blackout shades didn’t block the light well.

The service desk are excellent but the room service need some work I ask to do my room and never was done in the 3 days there, thank to the personal at the Desk I can get clean towels

Front desk guy was very hospitable and helped me with my bags and too room being to knee injury

Friendly staff. Clean room. Quiet property and most importantly "No bugs".

We did not have 5-star expectations, as we have stayed at several of La Quinta properties in the past. This particular location did not live up to its 6.8 out of 10 rating from Expedia reviews. Check-in was smooth, & although we noticed poor craftsmanship and dirty walls on the 1st night, we chose to overlook these issues. On the morning of our 2nd day, we reported a non-functioning toilet to the front desk before 9:00 a.m. When we returned at 4:00 p.m., it had still not been repaired, and our room had not received any housekeeping service. We were given a new room key to “use for the night” & told the toilet would be repaired the following day, as maintenance had already left. However, we were not instructed to move rooms. The next morning, we found ourselves locked out of our original room. When we spoke to the front desk, we were informed that we would be charged for an additional room since we had “occupied” two rooms overnight. The lack of customer service and the confrontational attitude of the front desk clerk were extremely disappointing. Due to the holiday weekend and the limited availability of nearby accommodations, we had no choice but to remain at the hotel. We were eventually moved to another room, which, unfortunately, was just as dirty as the first. Housekeeping services were never provided during our stay. The continental breakfast was subpar. After discovering black flecks in the apple juice dispenser, we had serious concerns about cleanliness & sanitation.

The front desk staff are amazing especially rishi and nit!! Rooms are cozy and not spotless clean but clean the housekeeping could step it out with the cleaning! But I love staying here!

We got into our room really late and exhausted only to find the sheets were not the cleanest looking. Being we were so tired, we placed towels down to sleep. Then we discovered the air unit was so loud, we needed noise canceling head phones to sleep. When we wanted to shower in the morning, we needed to give them our 2 dirty towels in order to get clean one for our shower, even though I said we need to use them to sleep on since the sheets were not the cleanest. Upon checking out, the desk clerk was not interested on hearing our problem with our room.

Problems at check in. We were given a room, went in and set the A/C, came back with our luggage and people were in our room and our keys no longer worked. Front desk gave us a different room. Beds had HUGE dips in mattresses. Room felt grimy and unclean. Door handle came off. Side door was open and anyone could come in without key. Door needs to be pushed closed if it’s unsecured. General appearance of property unmaintained and unclean. Trash full in common areas. Cigarette butts around parking lot. Six hotels on our road trip and this was the worst but cost the most.

Staff was not helpful. Nobody was ever at the desk. Nobody answered the phone. I was double charged and charged incorrectly

It was a great time, very easy to check in and out. Vending machines are available (take card only) , then there is an ice machine, and and the vending machine for pop only takes cash (just fyi)... Great location, and nice clean place. The workers are extremely nice, especially Risha, Risha is super nice and easy to talk to.

It was less than a mile from several restaurants ans a shopping center. Also, it was a 10-15 mins drive to downtown Cleveland with lots to do (restaurants, bars, casino, etc).

During our stay quite a few exits and roads were closed down so took a lot longer with detours and reroutes to get anywhere. Only complaint about the room was tub cap would not stay up so while showering the tub would fill with water. Our room was very spacious and clean. All employees we encountered were friendly. Breakfast was a bit lacking, but as advertised with basic breads, waffles, yogurt and fruit.

Room was clean and comfortable. Needed a place to stay for the night while in Cleveland for the Rolling Stones concert, and this location worked out just fine for what I needed. Grabbed a bite to eat before checking out and got on the road in the morning.

Convenient and closer to the Cuyahoga National Park

Ok place to stay. Very convenient to restaurants and Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

Needed a quiet place to stay outside of the city. This was the place. Lot's of restaurants within walking distance.

More attention to the small cleanliness details. Tub, white doors, vents, bathroom floors, etc. Service was good. Breakfast was adequate.

This hotel is in dire need of a remodel. It wasn't very clean. The breakfast was short on choices and I'm pretty sure the waffle irons weren't working properly. After putting syrup on the waffle, it was like eating batter.
