Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Chicago Naperville

Check in was super easy. The desk clerk & the manager were both very kind & helpful & friendly. The rooms were clean & the breakfast was good. The only thing that sucked was the pool which was too cold to swim in but other than that, it was a great stay. The hotel was quiet & there were computers available to use.

Small pool and workout room. Appreciated the water in the lobby and easy parking.

We enjoyed the property and staff very much. We were very much letdown to find out the pool was not working. That was one of the main reasons we picked this hotel. It would’ve been very nice to have been told that prior to us getting there. We were there for three days and the pool was not working any of those days.

While my stay wasnt “bad” the hotel needs some upgrading. The walls had patches of wallpaper throughout the hallways, the room reeked of cigarette smoke. There wasn’t a microwave, but we did have a refrigerator. The pool wasn’t available for use. The room felt dark and more like a motel. The front desk staff was nice. Overall, I would not rebook for those reasons alone.

The property was in a great location to what was needed. The only downside was that the Market inside the hotel was very understocked. The only drink that was available was Frost Gatorade and Sprite and no other options for drinks and no snacks at all. Also, there were no vending machines on the property and no ice machine on any of the floors. Please do better, being that it was the Fairfield, I thought the experience would have been much better instead it felt like a stay at Motel 6.

We stayed from July 24 to July 29 and they only serviced our room on July 28 after many requests. The pool was closed and the gym had 2 working machines plus some dumbbells. Even the breakfast was strange. Bacon sausages and no eggs and one day they didn’t put out the toaster. Location was great but hopefully this place can figure itself out…

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The beds were large and comfortable. The breakfast choices were good and plentiful. Having the use of the pool was a lovely addition. It was well placed to access Naperville and not too far from Chicago itself. We would stay again!

Disappointed. We stayed here before and the pool was down. It was down again this time also. In the room we found a fork on the floor so the cleaning was not up to par. Also there was no shower gel or soap, only 2 towels and 3 washcloths (the room was for 4). There are other hotels close so would expect better with competition so close. Didn’t seem up to organizational standards. The front desk staff was great tho.

Excellent housekeeping staff. Front desk staff had little to no knowledge of area. Business center computers never worked, in spite of numerous requests.

I was in town for my pool training and so of course I wanted to check out the “heated” pool. When we checked in around 7pm the lights in the pool were off. Staff said it was open so I dipped my foot in and it was ice cold. Three days and no one was in the pool. The staff was hanging out in the lobby with either friends or other employees. Using all seating in the lobby. The room we had had a very strong odor of cat urine. I was just in hopes they newly installed carpet. Until we both started sneezing. Yuck. Towels in room had stains of old makeup and we did not receive any soaps to wash our hands. That was strange. Our mattress seemed to need replacing, rolling into the middle of the bed. Positive-close to NIU. Within walking distance, also very close to quick eats.

The front desk staff was kind and courteous. He even gave me a goody bag. Room was perfect and clean. I would definitely go back.

Floors were dirty, we found dirty laundry in the drawers, toilet ran all night long. Rooms smaller than they appear in photos.

Room was dirty and smelled horrible. Toilet paper was leftover from whoever had stayed there previously. Called and asked for the bathroom to be cleaned only for the towels to be picked up. Toilet paper wasn’t restocked until we went down and picked it up ourselves at the front desk. Also the whole hotel smelled awful with whatever cleaning agent they were using in the hallways.

The bed linen was stained with what appeared to be urine. Very unsanitary and I questioned the overall cleanliness of the hotel. Also, the refrigerator needed to be defrosted which limited the ability to store leftovers.

Considering I paid over two hundred dollars, I expected more than town carpets in the room, unclean linens and toilet paper on the floor!

The pictures on this hotel must be at least 10 years old. The hotel overall was constantly dirty. The staff made us go into their store room to get our own toilet paper. Our room smelled like old dirty clothes. The carpet was destroyed and shredded at the door like an animal was tramped and the furniture was chewed on. The cups that sat on the bathroom counter has nibble marks on the plastic packaging making them no longer sealed as well as had claw marks on the inside of the cups. Counter top looked like it had never been cleaned. Bathroom exhaust fan/light sounded like a crop plane starting up and was as loud as a lawn mower when on. Bath tub didn’t drain, so showering was difficult. Toilet also sprayed you every time you flush. Bedding had stains and burn marks. And a used Q-tip was found on the bed. So was our room really cleaned prior to our stay…. The pool should not have been opened. The plaster and cement around the pool was crumbling and chunks of debris was all over the bottom. Breakfast: No one attended it, so nothing was ever refreshed or cleaned. Hallways always dirty and trash cans over flowing. Stay in one of the other hotels near by…it’s worth the extra!

The room was great in all the areas I care about. Comfortable bed, pillows and linens, plus the large room matched the photos when I booked it. We are likely to stay here again.

Everything good except one of the days the WiFi was not working and the people on the top level was jumping. Other than that perfect. Good breakfast.

This is an older Fairfield Inn and it’s definitely showing its age. Shopworn carpet, sagging light fixtures and a lumpy king bed. Most concerning was the water leaking from the ceiling into the shower, leaving the ceiling drywall sagging very ominously. When I told the front desk person when I was checking out, he acknowledged that they were aware of the issue (which didn’t prevent the night guy the evening before assigning us that room). Not sure if Marriott or a franchisee owns this property, but it needs a complete renewal ASAP.

The room is very damped, smell wet. The carpet, wall, bathroom, overall looks really outdated. Probably not going to stay here again anytime soon. Great breakfast though.

An ok place to stay. Room needed some work, thermostat didn't work, toilet had issues. Breakfast was bland. Check out wasn't nowhere to be found, then he had an attitude and didn't email my receipt.

The outdoor landscaping is poor...so many weeds and thistles next to sidewalks and other common areas. Can't help but mention poor bathroom and shower lighting. Very difficult to shave or apply make-up in dull lighting.

Close to NIU campus. Convenient location. Did not like smelly room,like B.O., moldy windows, loud AC, cracked ceiling in bathroom, toilet wouldn't flush.

This was the worst stay I’ve had at a hotel in years. Arrived after 10 pm. I travel often and choose a suite for the bed and extra room with sofa bed. We got to room and no sheets, blankets, pillows for the sofa. I was told they don’t keep anything extra in rooms by the rude woman at front desk. Door broke next morning and would not close. Had a meeting I was late for and same rude desk woman suggested I leave my room standing open until maintenance got there. She was zero help and acted like I was putting her out by suggesting I needed help so I could leave the hotel with my room door closed. No thank you. I had personal belongings that were safer in room than in my car, but not leaving my room standing wide open. This is an ongoing issue according to maintenance and was told how to fix myself so I wouldn’t have to call back. Had to fix every tine we left room again. Toilet broken. Flushed 1/10 times used. No spout on sink faucet. When you turn on water it sprays all over you and everything on counter. Floors stained. Overall very bad experience. Will not stay here again. I typically love to stay at Fairfield’s, but would choose the Embassy next door for the price I had to pay here and the problems it caused me. Do not recommend .

I had a great experience at this hotel! Firstly the entire staff is extremely helpful and friendly and made my stay very enjoyable. Special shoutout to Thomas and Michelle for going above and beyond to make me feel welcome during my stay! The hotel room was also spacious, and clean, with housekeeping doing a great job of keeping the entire building and rooms tidy. The complimentary breakfast is also a nice addition. Nothing special, but the yogurt + banana combo served me well in the mornings.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and they never (not once) cleaned the room, never took out the trash, never made the bed, never gave us fresh towels (except when I walked down to the front desk and got some one day). We voiced our concerns on day 2, and every day thereafter; and every day the front desk said "sorry" and promised to get the room cleaned ASAP, but it never happened. We eventually put the trash in a bag outside our door (in the hallway), and the trash stayed there for three days. It just kept piling up as we added to it. The front desk acknowledged their lack of service in writing when I checked out (I have a hard copy with their signature) but offered no explanation. I deserve, and hereby request, a refund!

Great location, was expecting it to have better service than it did. Twice while in room in the afternoon, an employee entered the room for no reason, which was weird and unexpected. Requested room service , and our room wasn’t on the list. The housekeeper was very unfriendly. Stayed for 8 nights. Probably a better experience if it was a shorter stay.

Stayed here for a extended business trip for 8 days. I was told housekeeping was on alternate days but room was not cleaned for 5 days in a row even after mentioning to front desk. Room was comfortable and hotel was decent but unacceptable for sevice

Front desk wasn’t prepared at check in time. Had to call housekeeping to see what rooms were cleaned and able to be checked in to. Also came back from event around midnight and no one was sitting at the front desk…didn’t seem safe to me. Room was clean. Breakfast didn’t offer a lot of choices. Stay was ok but don’t plan on staying again

They gave away my room and I was left stranded with no accommodations at 1:30am even though I had called earlier in the day and notified them that I would be arriving late due to flight delays.

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast offerings were nicely varied. The air conditioning was meh. There was an obvious water damage repair in the bathroom but that did not affect our comfort or cleanliness. We were in town for a funeral and for all intents and purposes the room fit our needs affordable. Great location with highway very close by and lots of restaurants and even fine dining very nearby

Great value - nice accommodations, plenty of places to eat within walking distance, close to highway to go into downtown Chicago and easy see the rest of Naperville Free parking was great

Most importantly, it was clean. Management reached out to me and addressed the following issues: lighting was bad in the bathroom area. Breakfast was awful. Sausage overcooked, bad eggs. Bad coffee (and I was the first person down for breakfast that morning). Toilet wouldn’t always flush. I appreciated the manager reaching out to me and he addressed my concerns. Would I stay here again? Yes. It was clean and reasonably priced.

The included breakfast was not restocked, no coffee available and the staff was rude when we asked if we could have the coffee refilled. We saw guests come down at 9:00 and they couldn’t eat.

Great water pressure. Breakfast could use improvement. Everyday, either egg sandwich or scrambbled eggs with bacon. No other meat. One morning- no paper plates, had to use cereal bowls. But that was fine because if you wanted oatmeal or cereal there was no white milk, only chocolate. Hard to eat that on oatmeal or cereal if you dont care for chocolate. Computer room, never could access because they had no internet working on it the entire time we were there. Went to do a load of wash, did not have laundry soap- they did tell us where stores were to buy. If you want a quiet experience, forget it, young children running down halls screaming. Luckily they did not stay up late

For breakfast they might write Sorry, we don't have eggs. Do whatever you want. An old room with torn curtains.

Breakfast is good, dinning room is comfortable and clean, employes are outstanding, to guest needs.

I loved the morning breakfast, it was actually very very good unlike other hotels. The staff was excellent, and always there when you needed them. I stayed for 5 days and it was wonderful. Lots of amazing restaurants options within walking distance.. just a minute or two away! Highly recommended
