When we booked specifically for the pool, just to arrive and see the pool is closed from a diaper being in there from a birthday party the day before is really upsetting. The hottub room was fine, the jet's don’t blow hard, and the water is only hot during certain times of the day. I ran the hottub water only hot water to fill it up and just to get in it felt like bath water.

I've stayed here twice now. 1st time in Aug of 2023 and 2nd time over New Year. Inside pool is the big draw while traveling with a kid. Price is very comparable to other locations in the area. 1st time room was very clean. 2nd trip our room was not cleaned to our liking but we were moved to a room cleaned by Ada G and it was great and clean. Breakfast is included and consistantly has make your own belgian waffles, sausage links, cold cereal, an assortment of bread and bagels, granola or cereal bars, yogurt and fresh hot coffee and juice. Beds are comfortable- bottom sheet/mattress cover is a little scratchy. Three pillows of different thicknesses on the bed to appeal to however you sleep.There is a vending machine and ice machine. There are two floors but no elevator, its a walk up. The lobby area is in great condition and nicely decorated. The rooms are older and and there are some carpet stains or cracks in the drywall but thats not a deal breaker for me. The pool area seemed relatively safe although it smelled very strongly of chlorine and probably could have used some professional care but did not seem overly dirty. I felt safe there traveling as a woman by myself. Place was quiet after about 9pm. Overall I have been greatly satisfied with the staff and our stays there.

This place has the potential to be great but at this point I've had a few bad experiences cleanliness and upkeep wise so I'm thinking about staying somewhere farther away. Pros: good friendly service, good breakfast, indoor pool, good water pressure, quiet/ safe location. Cons: rooms arent always cleaned properly, bugs in our room, pool deck/changing room often dirty, pool shut down on 3 separate days we were here ( needed parts or needed chemicals). Things that dont necessarily matter to me but could make a difference.... all the windows / doors had finger prints or streaks, trash cans often overflowing (although i saw them emptied several times) parking lot always had a lot of litter, vaccuming could be done more often in rooms/ halls and staircases.

Two floors and no elevator is not a normal situation as travellers often carry big suitcases. Carpets in rooms are not ideal and hopefully will be removed at next round of renovation. Way too expensive. It is taking advantage of little competition in the sector.

I really enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub along with the free breakfast.

Hotel was mostly clean. Ice machine, computers, juice machine were all out of order the entire time we were there. I understand this is a small hotel but I figured these things could have been fixed while we were there.

This was a very nice and friendly place to visit and stay The staff was very, very helpful and Pleasant the food was good. The pool in the Jacuzzi we enjoyed our little getaway.

Excellent stay. Clean room, heater works well, water runs hot, quality tv with many channels. Pool and hot tub was great, staff was friendly, check in was quick and easy. Appreciated they put me away from other guests so i didn't have to worry about noise. Even had a nice little continental breakfast.

Breakfast is gross. This hotel does NOT have a restaurant. Guest’s laundry was broken. The hot tub was dirty and ragged.

Mold on the bathroom ceiling. Hair in the bathroom floor left from previous guest. Phone in the room do not work also air conditioning seemed to be very dated . The young lady at the desk Hailey I believe when we checked in was great she was very sweet and polite helpful with everything I asked.

Stay was ok, room was relatively quiet, lobby was nice, staff helpful, but room had no towels, bedspread had a cigarette burn hole right in the middle. Mirror above sink had not been cleaned. Hall carpet had a huge wet area.

Only issue has at all was that it smelled like someone had been smoking pot in whole room and in am was worse in bathroom. Staff was all great. It needs be upgraded on tolit to ada heights

Two good things was that the towels were clean and white though small and thin. The other good thing was the weekend night shift desk clerk was very nice and helpful. Our room had no bath towels but she brought them to us and she offered to help carry our luggage upstairs. There is no elevator and it’s a 2 story hotel. The hotel is old and tired. It needs to be renovated desperately. The hallway upstairs had a bad odor the whole time we were there. It didn’t appear that the carpet in the hallway was ever vacuumed. The bed was hard. The wing chair in the room was stained and gross. We went to breakfast one day out of 3. It wasn’t appealing at all. I needed hot water for my tea. Airpots don’t keep water hot enough for tea to properly steep. I asked the attendant if I could have hot water directly from the coffee machine. She said no then told the manager who had come in what I asked for. The manager says we don’t have that. I saw it in the kitchen area. They did have the red hot water tap on the coffee machine but she apparently didn’t understand or didn’t want to accommodate me. We won’t stay here again.

There was trash left behind from the previous guest. I saw multiple types of bugs in the room. The room smelled. There were no restaurants on the premises as stated. The room was dusty. The towels were small and thread bear. $150.00 deposit. Horrible experience. Confederate flags everywhere!

The room was spotless and the man checking Us in was beyond polite. I would definitely recommend!

Hotel was okay but pretty old. Musty, heavy perfume smell, enough to have to change rooms. Rooms were okay, check in staff was great. Didn't use any amenities, so can't speak to those. Biggest problem was the lighting. It was so poor over the mirror, putting on makeup or anything else needing a reflection was poor. Couldn't see anything. Pretty major for a woman getting ready for an event.

Beautiful area, but not near anything. The staff is super helpful. There is no elevator, so be mindful of your luggage needs! Large, comfortable rooms, with fridge and microwave.

Had a great stay. The only thing I would change is the size of the tv. It was extremely small for the size of the room. TV's are cheap now so I would definitely upgrade to a larger size for that room (202). Other than that, I will be back.

It was a nice place that was well-kept. It was clean, and the rooms were big.

The stay was ok. I got what I paid for. The hotel was clean but really dated. The bed was REALLY firm. More firm than I was able to tolerate. I toss and turned all night, so I just got up around 6 and just checked out. Also since the hotel is dated the chair in the room had stains on it. I definitely didn't sit on it. Besides that the desk clerk was friendly.

All was great excpt the matteresses were aweful. I am sorry but all 3 of us complained about not being able to sleep because of the mattresses. Other than that everything was great.

Great hospitality at front desk

My 2 adult children and I drove to the Shelby area for a funeral. It was an 8 hour drive. The hotel staff was amazing and let us check into our room early. We arrived on Friday and left Sunday. The only issues we had were due to no fault of the hotel or staff. A guest apparently booked several rooms and had a child's birthday party in the indoor pool area. Due to the volume of parents and children, we were unable to enjoy the pool area which was disappointing. Friday was not the issue but the pool was completely full all day and into the night on Saturday. Also due to having a full hotel over the weekend, no breakfast was available.

Enjoyed my stay at this location. Staff extremely helpful meeting my business needs.

WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY. THE FRONT DESK STAFF WERE SUPER FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. IF WE ARE EVER IN THE AREA WE WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN.

Only reason to stay here is if visiting GWU. They take your CC for incidentals and there is no services offered at hotel. Hairdryer caught fire and they offered no apology when the manager came in. Night team did show some compassion. I took the hairdryer down stairs. I think it was already faulty because it was un plugged. Needed to sleep with windows open because of the fumes. No screens in windows so glad nothing flew in.

They started replacing the roof around 6:15am with no warning from the staff.

Staff was really welcoming and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay.

Nice quiet area Close to restaurants

The staff is always curteous and helpful. The property is older but clean and convenient for University activities. I wish there was a safe way to walk from the hotel into town and to Gardner-Webb.

Breakfast was a joke. They shouldn't even advertise that they offer it. The hallway smelled strongly like marijuana and they stuck me in a handicap room with an awkward shower. Nothing to rave about. No reason to return. And way over priced for the quality of room that i received.

2nd time I've stayed at this hotel now while visiting my daughter at GWU. Only a few minutes drive to the university and the centre of boiling springs. Easy check-in and the staff and super helpful and will assist you with any questions. Rooms are large and well equipped with microwave and fridge as well as iron and ironning board. The house keeping staff also do a great job of cleaning the rooms each day. The hotel is silent at night and the included breakfast i also found to be perfectly fine. There is also fresh coffee available 24hrs. Excellent value for money

Friendly staff. Clean. Breakfast had hot and cold options. A few things could have been better. Juice tasted like it was mixed with water and fresh fruit was over ripe. Overall a nice place to stay.

Hot tub was hot enough. Jets we not very strong. Breakfast options were very limited. We chose to go to the pancake house.

Breakfast was poor., selection maintenance.

It was nice and clean. Good breakfast. Highly recommend.
