We really enjoyed our 2 nights here! The main complaint is the parking lot. One night we came in and there was 1 spot left. It was very hard to get into the spot and was impossible to get out. Please work on your parking and maybe make the space at the pool compact car only and then encourage those cars to not park elsewhere....

The property is undergoing renovations and there were some noticeable issues with ongoing projects but the room was very nice and the staff were very accommodating. The pool was a nice escape from the ocean waves. Wish the pool had been open after dark. Overall a very nice escape and we plan on returning for another stay probably in the off-season as well as next year.

The rooms themselves were very nice - clean, roomy and pleasant to be in with good beds. Being right on the beach was great, and the place just next door has a terrific little restaurant. The breakfast wasn't special but there were nice choices. However, do know that the property is old enough to have no elevator, only stairs and laid out confusingly to get around. Also the heating/AC units are high on the wall, so I had to stand on a chair to see the controls, which was not something I can recommend for everyone! Also, the photos of 'suites' aren't really every room, so know what you are booking. A lot is nice, but just know there's a reason it's reasonably priced.

Perfect spot for a few nights at the beach. Right on the beach!!! The staff are excellent, very accommodating and friendly The rooms on one side are a little older but very clean and modern inside. Parking at times can be an issue but overall very safe and quiet. The pool was a nice bonus!! Will definitely stay again!

This place was fine, great location. Parking was a little tight. The cleanliness was only because it was so dang sandy. The hotel did provide a broom, which was used a lot!

The room was dirty and smelled horrible. It was very small and cramped with very few outlets. We had to clean it ourselves the whole time we were there as there was no housekeeping. We had to put out our dirty towels and bedding and ask the office for clean and do everything ourselves. Things were broken in the room with no intent to fix. Very noisy room neighbors, could hear everything including the stomping above us at all hours. Room was in a completely seperate building across the street from the main building. The breakfast was horrible reheated frozen eggs, pancakes and biscuits. The 'convenient door locks were horrible and couldnt get in half the time. The best part about this place was that we were across the street from the beach that we didnt even get to enjoy because of the weather. (The bad Weather obviously not their fault) The staff were friendly when we actually got to interact with them as they were mostly facetiming on a tablet that you had to talk to just inside the front lobby door.

It was close access to the beach but the room was dirty, the kitchenette was really gross with no clean pots or pans for to cook with. We had to go buy items to cook with, like knifes, cutting board, pans. The refrigerator was really dirty and there was rust and mold in the cabinets

Floor was dirty and sticky,dried urine under the toilet seat. We knew we were staying at an older cheap hotel but it doesn’t cost much for cleaners.Thankfully we didn’t see any bugs.

We have stayed at older motels that were much better cared for. While check in was a breeze, MUCH TLC is needed. windows were filthy, room smelled of mold, (it was clean) outside had catch basins under every air conditioner instead of better thought out system. Paint job needed. 😔

Good location, but the property needs an overhaul. The staff is friendly and helpful. Maybe bc the hotel is old, but everything felt dingy. The amount of sand on the floors is uncomfortable. I never felt safe walking around barefoot in my room. Bed was comfy. The bottom of the room door was decomposing and falling apart.

Pictures are terribly misleading and false advertising. This place should be condemned. The building was falling apart from the outside in. Water leaking and pooling all over the walkways and stairs. Dirty trays sitting under AC units and leaking all over. The beds were tiny and felt like laying on a cardboard box. The towels and sheets felt like sandpaper. Bugs in the rooms dirty laundry and trash littered outside the room. Sink cracked, shower had a bad spackle job, toilet barely flushed. No soap in dispensers, no Kleenex in container and 1 half used roll of toilet paper with brown stains on it. No batteries in remotes for tv and AC unit and tv left on upon checking in the room and AC was freezing. Forced to unplug everything from the wall. Everytime I turned around I found more issues with the stay. Would never stay here again and will be sure to let others know. They should be ashamed of themselves for the pictures they have advertising themselves it looks nothing like the accommodations we were sold.

This was not an ocean front room as advertised. I was in Room 142. It was a dune facing room however I couldn’t see the dune because the window was so dirty. Room needs to be thoroughly cleaned and refurbished. Almost every thing we touched had dirt on it. Very disappointed. Bring your own coffee and coffee maker. The cleaning staff started knocking on doors and looking in windows at 9 am. They need buy DND tags for the door. I do not recommend. I’d actually like a full refund. I would suggest hotel management training for the entire staff.

Room roof leaked, heater only worked one night, was advertised as “ocean view” but was no balcony just a giant window opening up to the main hallway so everyone could see into the bedroom when they walked past and a small view of the ocean over the pool buildings and parking lot.

We arrived near 11 PM (we had informed them of the late arrival in advance). When we got up to our room it looked like it had been cleaned, then used by someone(s) for hours after. The beds were a mess, there was trash in the trash cans, and thing were disheveled on the sink and common areas. The attached photos are how the room looked when we entered. When we went back to the front desk 10 mins later, there was no attendant and the office was locked. So we were forced to stay in the used room for $350 a night. The “ocean view” from the second floor isn’t really a view of the ocean. It’s a view of the parking lot. But you can hear the ocean.

The room and overall stay was good. But according to the pictures when I booked, you could see the ocean from your window. I couldn't see past the very high dunes. There was a pet fee that was not discussed when booking also.

The apartment was good and the beds were comfortable. The rooms are spacious but the bathroom is so small. They could’ve spaced it out better and the bathroom is right next to a bed which is not ideal. No privacy and no where to move in that bathroom. Very outdated. Breakfast was alright, not too many options. Staff were friendly.

The beds were extremely hard and the room could have been cleaner. But for the value, it is not a bad motel to stay at. The staff was willing to help in every way they could. The access to the pool and beach were very nice and easy. The only thing I wish is that their advertising advised you that there is no elevator steps only.

No hot water for the entire stay. Management had us use shower in another suite. Would not give us compensation for the inconvenience nor move us into another suite. Water blew overnight into the room from the entrance door. We had to use towels to clean up the water. No tv remote for bedroom. There was a hole in the wall where someone had apparently opened a door too hard. We did not eat the breakfast because we chose not to walk across the street during the bad weather.

It started really bad with a bad desk associate. Having to wait until 3 to check in someone else was there and he said she had only 2 days left to work. Others also told me she was rude to them. After that it went great. I had a problem with a snell of dope coming in our room and others also complained. The one girl moved us into a different room and had been aware of the situation earlier. She was wonderful. I would stay there again and it was all good towards the end. I can’t blame the place on 1 persons rudeness. Everyone else was very accommodating

When we went into the office to check in there were people waiting and only one desk clerk. She said here, check in with (whatever) which was an Ipad with a person that did not speak English. We had to ask the clerk questions anyways so kind of a waste of time. Then we got our room number and it was 504. We went outside and there were 2 buildings with 3 stories, no 5. We went back inside and were told we were in a building across the street! That would have been nice to know.

The people in the room above us were stomping around for hours well past midnight, scraping furniture around and had a child was running around. No one answered the phone when I called the hotel reception desk to see about changing rooms.

Decent experience- mostly because of the Atlantic ocean, no elevator though, but at least we were one of the few rooms that actually had an ocean view. Breakfast was sub-par - not sure what was in the "egg-things." Also the woman on duty would not let a service dog into the eating area - she had no clue as to the laws of the United States.

wow! RIGHT by the beach. to walk on the beach at sunset then be right back out before sunrise, both starting within a minute, absolutley invaluable. very, very kind lady at check-in. nice breakfast. very quiet with incredible beach access, yet be on main strip in a minute for restaurants and drive to other bank islands. this hotel has us wanting to come back to obx.

Overall it was a good stay. I like that the beach access is just steps away from the rooms. It’s also close to many shops and restaurants. Parking is tight so adding a larger parking area just pickup trucks and larger vehicles would be nice. Additionally, it would be nice to have clothing wracks/hooks outside each room to hang wet towels and bathing suits.

Got a king size room street view. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, slept great. Room had been been renovated had luxury vinyl flooring. Breakfast was great had biscuits and gravy, eggs, pancakes and link sausage. All staff was very friendly and efficient. Will definitely stay here again.

Liked that we were very close to the beach and restaurants. The breakfast was fine, had eggs, but pretty basic and repetitive. They arnt too good at refilling up syrup or certain other items. The room was okay but the bathroom had a lot of renovations that was not covered so it seemed off. Seemed clean by there were clothes in a drawer so not sure. Some of the Furnature was damaged. Cable tv annoying to use. In short wasn’t an amazing experience but good with a breakfast and convenient location. I’d probably try a different hotel in the future but not against coming back either for the right price. It was more affordable.

Less than a minute Quick easy access to the beach. Quiet area, everything was easy and convenient. Shops and restaurants are all close by. Our room was very clean. Enjoyed breakfast, they had eggs, sausage Pattie’s, sausage links, pancakes, biscuits sausage and gravy, English muffins, sliced bread to make toast, bagels, doughnuts, and cereal, and plenty of condiments along with coffee, tea, orange juice and milk. Only complaint would be parking, parking lot is pretty tight and doesn’t help that some people wanna park that don’t have a room. Would suggest parking passes and enforcing towing

It was a place to sleep for the night. The pool looked clean and it was right on the ocean with beach access. Breakfast was not good. Sausage was a pasty gray color and cold. The coffee came out of a machine the eggs were like rubber maybe like other hotels they were powder?? The roomed smelled musty and the floor was dirty. In much need of updates but if you need place to sleep it is just fine. We only needed one night.
