The guy at the desk was nice enough but disappeared for further assistance. The sheets/bed were clean, there was only 1 towel , 1 hand towel and 2 wash cloths, there were no working ice machines on site. Coffee machine in room did not function coffee in lobby was available and fairly fresh.

The stay is not bad, but it's not the best either. Exterior needs improvement, such as the driveway. More towels on hand would be nice so i don't have to wait for clean ones. Upon arrival, we only had a few minor issues such as the TV channels and bedding. Overall, the stay isn't as bad as some make it out to be. The place just needs some extra TLC and perhaps a continental breakfast bar.

No iron in room. Asked multiple times. Eventually waited at front desk and they found a spare. Then back at room the ironing board was broken. Fitness center locked with padlock - manager said doing repairs. No coffee made in reception area in morning - the help said they were "running behind" on coffee. Dialing 0 didn't from room didn't seem to go anywhere - had to call front desk with personal phone.

What a dump! There are signs all around the property saying it is "A Police Friendly" property. Our Lyft driver said it was known for Prostitutes, drug users and dealers. The only coffee was in the check in area where an old Bunn coffee machine waz sitting. The "dining area" was a vending machine. The room reasonably clean although the tv remote did not have a back on it so the batteries were exposed. The hot and cold sink plumbing could be rocked back forth more than inch. It was literalky the last rooms available in town due to Syr. U. parents' weekend. Will never stay again.

Parking was fine. Room was freezing heater was broke. The sofabed has all kinda of dirt food and crumbs inside so we obviously couldnt use it. The toilet spun around on tje floor. There was old food under the beds. The shower was disgusting so we disnt use that either

Parking was easy. The front staff was unfriendly. The room was filthy and smelled like an old ash tray. The sheets looked clean but the shower was gross. The towels had a weird smell to them. You heard plenty of activity from your neighbors and outside your door all night. Couldn’t get out of there faster.

Do yourself a favor and filter through all the fake 10/10 reviews and read some of the real ones before even considering staying here. The place is filthy. Trash everywhere. Inside, outside, in hallways, in the rooms. The walls are disgusting. The floors felt unclean. I don’t even know how to describe the smell. There are plenty of reasonably priced properties in the area that won’t leave you fearing for your safety or feeling like you need an acid bath to cleanse the filth off your body. The ONLY positive thing I have to say is that the bed in my room had clean sheets and was comfortable enough for a quick overnight. If I were staying longer, I would have left and found another room elsewhere. Don’t believe the photos on the website. You can’t even convince me that they were actually taken at this location. I will include a few photos I took while there but they do no justice to the filth you will find here.

I have never paid for a hotel and walked away without staying there, and thus, walking away from the money I spent. This is a first, which shows how bad it is. As soon as I entered the room, I smelled urine. I started cleaning the floor, and the wipe was filthy afterwards. The room, especially the bathroom, was covered in fruit flies. It was not sanitary enough to stay, so we left. There's also a weird sign displayed that warns against drug trafficking. We told the clerk at our new hotel that we had fled our previous one. She specifically asked if it was this hotel. It was her first guess. That says a lot.

The hotel was very very dirty. The bed broke by my husband rolling over, the lobby was very dirty. Hallway and elevator were very dirty. Not at all like the photos! Very strong smoke and damp smell throughout. Toilet and tub was filthy and had hair on it. Floor had gum and was dirty. Comforter on the one bed had blood on it. Very unpleasant experience.

I'm really unhappy with my hotel stay. The non-smoking room smells like cigarettes, the room and bathroom are dirty, and my key card stopped working after just 2 days, even though I paid for 3 nights. And to make matters worse, it stopped working again 10 minutes before check-out time.

Basic room, was quiet, we slept ok, a/c worked. The walls were dirty and damaged, bathroom is tiny, sheets were somewhat crusty, floor was dirty, only a couple channels to watch. It’s not awful for 130 bucks a night.

Arrived to find a non-smoking room that smelled of cigarette smoke. The television did not work either. I notified the front desk and they apologized about the smell and then ended up having to unplug the refrigerator to plug the tv in. Apparently one of the outlets doesnt work, but the hotel feels this room is still acceptable to be rented out.

Called the hotel to let them know that we would be arriving late with an ETA of 1AM. Told by front desk that it would not be a problem. Finally get to the hotel and start the check in process - clerk asks for name and confirms that we were staying for one night - then with a snarky smile says "well we are overbooked and no longer have a room". Refuses to help find another room and says it not his problem we don't have a place to stay after driving for 5 hours. Went to use the lobby bathroom after the long trip and it was filthy!!

I asked immediately upon arriving if I could extend the check out till 2pm as I would be working 6-2 and could not leave the did alone in the vehicle. I even agreed to pay extra but was denied so I cancelled my reservation and was told I could get a refund from booking agency. I tried that today and was told the hotel had me as a no show. I was on the phone with my grandson when he attempted to check in and heard every word he was told. I called there myself to say it was not a no show and they agreed to The cancellation but they lied to me and to the booking agency - these people need to Be vetted better if you’re going to represent them because we are your clients too and expect you to represent reliable hotels

Multi stays and each time pleased with the room overall. Clean, neat, tidy, up to date, & relatively comfortable for a low-budget room. Even the cheap beds are tolerable. The room was as expected. However, we definitely had some adverse experiences that will send us elsewhere next time we work in Syracuse. 1. we returned from picking up dinner on our second evening about 6:30pm & our key card didn't work. Went to the desk & no one was there to fix it (and no heat in the lobby.) I called the local phone # which sent me to Red Roof's AI booking line and into a loop w/no human available. Stood there ringing the bell, calling every # we could find for the hotel and chain while freezing in the 9° temp trying to gain access to the hotel room that had everything inside. We weren't the only ones with this problem. A gentleman was also waiting w/ 2 small children to have his key card reactivated. A man looking to check in waited but finally left when no one came. Finally, after 45 minutes, in waltzed the attendant asking if we'd been waiting long. 2. no bath towels. 2 small hand towels & bath mat. No one around to get towels from 3. the walkways were not shoveled or salted. Super slick, icy & dangerous. If you are booking for the cheap decent room, be aware that it is also some sort of halfway house and has some "characters" hanging around While none made us concerned, if I had been traveling without my husband, it probably would NOT have been a wise choice for feeling secure.

We arrived at 4:15, our check in time was 3:00 and our room was still not ready. We waited 20 minutes for our room to be cleaned and when we got to it, the sheets were dirty, the room smelled disgusting and there was no soap in the bathroom. Our housekeeper did not speak english so it was difficult to advise what the issue was. The room had a sign indicating check out was at 12 PM, but at 11:05 a staff member asked us to leave.

I arrived early asked for early check they said no room will be ready at 3 instead it was 4. The only thimg that makes that place ok is the young lady that works the desk poor thing deals woth wveeyones problems all by herself. The overnight guy very rude and bo skills.

Horrible experiencie, we arrived and the room we prepaid for was taken. So they give us another for less people. They didn't have extra rollaways bed to save the mistake. The room smells disgusting, horrible, but we arrived at midnight so we didn’t have other option but take the room. (You can’t book a room in hotels.com after midnight)

Hotel was in awful condition. It had people all around the property watching you and yelling out there windows. The room had broken furniture, smelled of smoke and the sheets, bed and bathroom were disgusting. We walked into the room and left for another hotel asap. Do not stay here!!

This property must be taken off Expedia's listing of hotels. When we arrived at 11:55 PM, there were people smoking crack in the parking lot, a transient was roaming the area peeking into parked cars, the grounds were totally unkept, the building had a different name on it than advertised on your site and was in disrepair with screens torn out of windows, dirty windows, beat-up doors, and there were signs on the building every 30 feet that said "Police-friendly hotel..." When we were brave enough to open the door to the lobby, the stench of unwashed humanity and drugs hit us like a wall. I triple-checked the address to be sure the GPS didn't take us to the wrong address, but it was a positive match. We did not stay at this location, and I want my money back. Will be calling Expedia about this.

I liked out stay at HomeTown Inn by Red Roof East Syracuse. I was there with my Ukranian friend who was surprised there were also hotels in America with same quality as in hes country. I really liked the reception because there was Egyptian workers who gave the hotel international feeling since it is near the airport. There was also many locals staying at the hotel and especially there were very friendly american hiphop style singers hanging out at the front of the elevators. First they looked scary because I have seen many rap music videos, but after I talk to them they were extremely friendly. Room was also decent quality. There was hot water, internet, beds with bed linen and towels which were ok for me, I also liked because there was a cockroach in the room which my friend tried to catch and it was funny to see him being afraid of the little bugs, television also had good channels and we were happy because most of the wall electric outlets did work, also free coffee in the room.

First of all at check in worker did not get off phone while waiting on me or to greet me but instead continued their conversation in another language. No eye contact. Lawn/ landscape not maintained, very unkept. Carpet in main hall on 3rd floor with large stains. Handle on entry door to 3rd floor hall was broken. Toilet seat needed tightening. Room itself was adequate. In the morning, 9am, “hot water” was room temp for tea. Upon ringing the tap bell a worker, same one as at check in, did boil water upon complaint. Another customer barely got 1/2 cup of coffee and had to microwave it. Felt like the bare minimum was provided. Glad my stay was only one night.
