Embassy Suites by Hilton Cleveland Beachwood

I was there in May and the 2nd elevator was not working and when I returned in August is was still out of order. The pool was also not accessible, which was a disappointment as well. In my room there were 2 light bulbs that were out and I did not have the standard suitcase rack in the room for my luggage. We called for housekeeping and no one was available.lastly, there was no light over my sink in the bedroom.

This property does not go the extra mile for its client. For rooms that are almost $200 per night I expect my suite to be spotless, no old trash behind the pullout and broken springs in couch along with not enough towels and washcloths. Furthermore the buffet was basic, no bacon, no french toast, no berries with fruit and the female cook to order lady could not speak and understand English well. Therefore, my scrambled eggs with peppers, cheese and spinach was an omelet. There is NO hottub at this location and the pool was closed early at 830pm as opposed to the 10pm time posted on the door. Lastly, the evening reception was trash, no complimentary cocktails, and the hors d'oeuvres consisted of a fruit bar, pretzels, chips and dip and cheese squares. This Embassy customer service, housekeeping and presentations need improvement bad. Saddest part is this is a very nice facility but the upkeep is not there and the service is going down hill. I had not been here in almost 5 years and was really disappointed at the change. They must have all new staff and management. Hilton HQ need to send a new staff to this location and get things cleaned up and running smoothly. I was so disappointed.

It appears this property is being renovated. The pool was closed (no big deal) but the gym was also closed and that was a problem. The property description mentioned no pool but said there was a gym. It looked like you could only get to the gym by going through the pool area. If I'd known the gym was closed, I would've chosen a different hotel.

It’s very worn down. It was clear the bathroom shower had not been cleaned in a while as there was mold and brown stains on the grout. The gym and pool are closed for construction but there was no mention of that when booking, check in nor when I called ahead of time and spoke to someone on two separate occasions to confirm and ask about early check in. The ceiling crumbled in the area where the ice machine was and the restaurant/bar is appalling. The staff was at least very friendly and accommodated and early check in/late check out but that was the only positive about the stay. I would not recommend staying at this location and suggest booking at another hotel nearby.

I rate this hotel as average. First, there were three elevators on the property with only one elevator was in operation for hotel guest to use. During my stay and no one was ever seen even servicing to get them operational for the guest. Second, there were quest with small children who wanted to use the swimming pool which was also inoperable. And last, the onsite restaurant was not appealing as the tables needed to be clean for any guest who may have wanted to sit at any of them.

Only issue was pool repair and no more hot tub

I booked because they had a pool. When I got there the pool was closed....until October. Hotels.com should put a notification on their website. It was a waste of a weekend with kids.

The room and stay was nice but the pool and fitness room was out of order. They should update that on the website

This hotel is so dirty! At breakfast on Saturday morning debris fell from the ceiling onto my omelette. I should have taken a picture. I showed it to someone at the front desk and was told that they are undergoing change in management. Go figure! Could not help myself to fruit covered with fruits flies. The oatmeal was so cold. The coach in our room was covered with stains and the mattress underneath still had sheets from the last guest. The worse Embassy suites I have ever stayed at beside the one in Myrtle beach.

Everything was broken. Lights in the room, doors to outside, an entire elevator. And worse the pool. When I was booking a hotel I put in specific criteria for one with a pool. When we checked in at 430, we walked up to our room, and there was someone in it cleaning it! Actually should use the term cleaning lightly, because the tub was dirty, and had hair in it. Two of the lamps in the room didn’t work, and it had an odd smell.

The property needs to be updated. My room was dirty with the bathroom floor not using been mopped, something was stuck to the living area table, i had several leaks in the room. The manager kept coming to my room throughout the night asking my name because the front desk person failed to register me in the room in the system. Horrible experience. I will never return to this location for a stay.

Very disappointing. Air conditioning didn’t work , room was not clean ! The whole hotel was not clean at all. A lot of people that stayed complained of it being dirty and in need of a lot of repairs and updates. The front desk girls were extremely nice, that was the only plus.

The room had a smell of rotten eggs coming from the sinks, the floor in the bedroom was gross as well as old cookies/ oatmeal balls under the bed.

The lobby was decent. My room was nasty, stains on the floors, walls dirty, under the couch bed was disgusting looked like it was never vaccumed. It smelt like mold in the room very unpleasant. The mini fridge/ freezer needed to be defrosted. It was so much wrong with the room. I called to complain but the lady at the front desk barely spoke English. We I expressed my concern I was told the were to booked to give me an another room. I was told to speak to a manager in the morning. I ended up stayed because I came to far to go home and I didn’t have enough for another room nearby for my family and I. When we went to the pool it was very warm in the closed space. Inside the pool the water clearly wasn’t not cleaned it was yellowish/green, the cleaning vents weren’t working. Hair was everywhere in the pool. I was over it at this point when I checked out the next day around 9 am. I turned my keys into the front desk and filed a complaint for a refund upon leaving I was told by the manager, that she had to speak to her manager but she’ll write a note for me to be contacted and call Expedia for a refund since that’s whom I booked through long story short. I’ll never return and it has changed so much from when I went 5 years ago. I’m still want on my refund I’m being spun into circles for my money back. Go at your own risk!

There was a used bar of soap in our shower meaning it wasn’t cleaned, there was also someone’s left overs left in the microwave so when we went to use it it smelled.

Our room was very dirty; garbage underneath our beds and underneath the curtains. Unsure if the tub was dirty or just permanently stained. There must have been a ceiling leak at one time or another bc the wallpaper was peeling and there were some black spots in the ceiling. I was only there for 1 night.. wouldn’t recommend or return.

Bathroom not very clean and nothing else seemed particularly clean either. Room sleeps 5 but there were only 4 bath towels. And the worst was having my granddaughter finding a used condom on the floor next to the bed she was sleeping in! I have never stayed in such a gross hotel! Will not be going back there and now rethinking about keeping my Hilton Honors status.

The check in process was smooth but they did give a room key card that did not unlock my door (a little inconvenient). Our room was clean (not updated) but missing essentials (coffe cups, coffee, creamer- there was sugar and decaf in room). I was told i had to come down to front desk and stock my own room because they couldnt leave the front desk. The shower was dingy and the shower head was not cleaned. The toilet paper holder was broken so the toilet paper was just sitting on back of toilet. The light in the kitchenette kept flickering then finally later that night went out. There were a ton of kids staying in hotel that night without their parents watching them, so they were running through the halls screaming. The free cocktails were a nice touch but the snacks that were served were terrible. There was tortilla chips with cold cheese sauce and salsa. There was some vegetables with ranch, but they were not refreshed and gone within the first 45 mins. Also there wasnt enough dishes/paper plates for us to put the snacks on, so we had to ask bartender. The older gentleman working at the bar Saturday night was amazing and such a nice guy! The girl working beside him, was not very nice and seemed extremely stressed with amount of people at the bar. The crew that was making and serving breakfast Sunday morning was incredible. They were very focused on making guests feel welcome and happy. I will probably not be staying at this location again.

Outdated. Same decor as it was 20 yrs ago when I came here. They were having satellite issues so 70% of the channels were unavailable.

The rooms and hotel itself were nice, but just felt tired. The staff felt very thin. The pool was overrun with kids acting rowdy and the water was cloudy and dirty. Overall, there was a lot of noise and seemed like people were propping exterior doors open and letting friends in for the pool and there wasn't enough staff to handle it.

The location was very good for shopping and restaurants. The rooms badly need updating, but they were clean. All the furniture needs to be replaced. The lobby/atrium is very spacious; however; handicap access is troublesome because of the lengthy carpeted ramp to get to elevator or to breakfast area. The complimentary happy hour cocktails are a nice touch, but Restaurant food is pub fare. Burger was good, but rib eye left a lot to be desired. Bar staff were very courteous as were the cleaning staff. Some of the front desk staff were less friendly.

No wifi, which was absolutely essential to work that I needed to do during my stay. Unacceptable.

The hotel & rooms are spacious. The hotel needs to be updated, it’s stuck in the 90’s. The furniture and beds look old, rusty fixtures in some areas, elevator was very slow. The area itself is nice but time for some major renovations.

The lobby area made me think this would be a nice hotel but my suite was not very sweet. The couch and chair had stains so I didn't sit on them, the bathroom had damaged ceiling and loose fixtures, and the full sized beds were not comfy. I didn't sleep any of the 3 nights even with melatonin. This place may work for some but it didn't work for me.

This is the second time in a month staying here. The first time the air in the room didnt work. This time a/c barely works, the phone in the room didnt work. The tv didnt work in either room, it said weak signal. I left the room at 6am , told the desk clerk he wrote it down, and said it would be fixed when i returned. I git back to the room at 5pm, the phone still doesnt wirk. The tv still doesnt work, and the room had never been cleaned. I told the desk clerk, she said she could try to get someone to fix the phone. And the tvs didnt work in almost all of the rooms. This is unbelievable. All the manager needs to do is have directtv boost the signal, simple fix, and phone didnt work when i left. I wint stay here again. And wouldnt recommend it. I got the room down to 71 by closing off the rooms. Setting the thermostat on 60, and had to put the fan on continuous high. Not comfortable.

Appreciated the staff for accommodating our special needs. The place needs a facelift but they try hard.

We called front desk twice. Once for more blankets and pillows. Then in morning for more towels since there was 4 people that checked in but room was only set up for 2. They answered the phone both times and said would bring up but nothing ever got delivered.

It took 45 minutes to check in and another 45 minutes to get my correct room. I was given a room that had a water leak of some kind which was not habitable. My next room was a king which I had not requested and I refused it even though I was told it was all that was left. Finally I got a smelly room that matched my reservation. Also I had my 85 year old aunt who has to walk with a cane going from room to room. Thanks to your security person who found a wheelchair and assisted her she didn’t collapse on the way to the third room. And by the way I’m also elderly. I’ll find another hotel for future visits.

We chose this hotel because we were traveling with our dog. About two hours after we’d checked in, we left the hotel and put the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door because the dog was staying. When we came back, housekeeping had been in the room and left towels on the ottoman in the living room where the dog was hanging out. I’m so glad, he didn’t panic and try to run out or worse, attack! Read the signs and respect your guests’ requests! You knew we were traveling with a dog. I won’t take a chance on Embassy Suites again.

Location was convenient for my needs. Easy check in and out. Pool was closed. No coffee in morning.

I went to the browns game and took RTA and it was very convenient to get to RTA station.

This was a large hotel with amenities like a pool and restaurant/bar that we didn't use on this trip. We chose it primarily due to its location near where we needed to be for doctor appointments. The rooms/bathroom appeared older, but it was fine for our needs. We did enjoy the complimentary breakfast.

It was fine, staff was pleasant. Spacious room/ furniture but a bit outdated and old. Sheets super scratchy. Coffee in the room was not very good. Definitely need a car to get around

The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was better than most hotels. The hotel is close to a lot of shopping, restaurants and the freeway. The free parking is a plus.

My stay Was going well too I got to the managers reception. I was going in there for over 25 years and never had a drink Maximum snack was not filled up. I had people there because I bragged about your services. Your manager reception as well as a buffet breakfast. I was embarrassed and I have friends come there. You only get two drinks. We had to leave there to go to another establishment to socializing beverages. Again, I’ve been going for years and never had that problem whatsoever. Very disappointed to know if this is how the service is going for now on please inform me so I’ll know ahead of time And I could tell my friends thank you

Good visit. Everything I expected from an Embassy Suites, good size room, comfortable bed, clean, good selection for breakfast, etc. Some negatives - congested front parking, only peach yogurt, shampoo & body gel empty. Would stay here again.

Like every business..there is lack of help…room lacked enough towels ,called twice, got this hotel for indoor pool,tried several times and were told pool was full,breakfast was good but one person making omelets..

I was very disappointed with my stay. The tub in my room was dirty, took 1 whole hour for my omelette to be cooked while standing line with staff coughing all over the buffet.

We were given a handicapped accessible room, and there must be a better way to meet the needs of those who require an accessible shower without making the entire bathroom a wet soaking mess. We tried very hard to keep the water contained. A rubber or plastic raised lip at the end by the sink at least, no wheelchair can go there. But without daily housekeeping the water pools and wet bathmat just sat there all weekend. The room otherwise was nice enough. The lobby and breakfast area were very poorly maintained, I took pictures. The breakfast situation was HORRIBLE and the main reason we will never be back. The staff (except the omelet guy) were very rude and there was far from enough food for a hotel with that number of guests. It was 40 minutes before breakfast was to close and they were out of flatware, cut fruit, orange juice, bacon and sausage and hash browns, and most pastries, and we were told there would be no replenishment. It was also a mess. We travel a lot and this was by far the worst Embassy Suites breakfast we had encountered. The company should be embarrassed.

Breakfast was great, the lady making the omelettes and sandwiches egg, bacon avocado was awesome and should be rewarded for her hard work customizing each order with patience and excellence. Truly old school and awesome. All other breakfast attendees were great as well, always on the move and vigilant. Great team.
