Rooms are not sound proof, you will hear all the city noise. Front desk and restaurant staff are friendly but day parking staff are obnoxious and unprofessional, rude. The second shift parking staff were pleasant and friendly. The pool water was extremely cold, I would suggest having controlled heating. In mid of downtown expect a lot of activities and business, there were marathons and several games going on during our stay… and on top of that we were mins from university atmosphere so another area of busy congestion with markets, games, activities and lots of business- parking is pretty hard to find.

Elevators were down and it took 30 plus minute check in. Tried to order room service and they weren’t offering it due to the elevator problem. The app to request my car was down. The guy at the window lied and said my car was on its way and then another guy said he would go get it because I was waiting too long. Everything about the place was inconvenient ans they didn’t compensate the price for the inconvenience.

This was one of the worst hotel stays. The elevators went down on Friday, and we had to walk up and down 4 flights of stairs for our room. Nothing was communicated to us about the issue. One elevator was eventually running by the staff but the wait was 10 minutes so it was quicker to take the stairs. We were offered nothing for the inconvenience. There was issues with the hot water, that the building knew about, but didn’t communicate to anyone. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone.

Very close to free public transportation (subway entrance was right across the street). Heated pool was very nice, but no hot tub. Rooms were dated and not recently refurbished compared to other DoubleTrees I have stayed at recently. Restaurant had a good breakfast buffet, but was a little expensive at $22 / person. Other DoubleTrees I have been to had breakast buffet for $18, but with more options to chosse from. Dinner time at the restaurant needed more wait staff. The restaurant was half empty, but long waits for drinks and food, and the food order was not correct. They forgot my appetizer and when I reminded them, it was brought out after my meal was served.

The property is in a wonderful location especially if you are going to an event or game at PPG paints. I wish we had known the parking was valet only so we could've parked somewhere cheaper nearby. The lobby was beautiful and clean, and the front desk staff were generally super nice. The rooms are pretty worn down and definitely could use some updates and cleaning. My main complaint was the elevator situation. They have 4 elevators and only 1 was operational for the duration of our stay. With so many sports teams staying here there was a constant wait for the elevator. We didn't go to the restaurant but it seemed very nice. We enjoyed the pool but it was quite old and the ceiling kept dripping on our heads. It wasn't horrible but there's better options in the area for sure.

The only downfall is the valet parking only option for $33.00 a night. If you do not utilize this option you have to find parking in the limited battery area surrounding the hotel.

Older property. Staff were super helpful an and friendly. I had a suite for my family and it wasn’t very clean. Stains on cushions. We opened the pullout coach and found hair in the sheets and they was no bedding in the room. Layout was good overall

This hotel is disgusting. It’s not just that it is terribly run down, it’s DIRTY!!! There was stuff all over the walls and doors- food, drinks, unknown substances?! The carpet had huge areas in our room that were wet with who knows what?! The tub didn’t drain. It was just so gross:(

The rooms were awful. I took pictures of how dirty they were. There was writing on the walls, the shower was covered in mold and the wall were damaged everywhere. The pictures on the website are definitely false advertisements. We spent almost $400 for one night and it was absolutely not worth it. I wish I could post real pictures to show everyone who’s interested in staying there so they could save their money!

There were dirty towels on the floor of our room when we checked in. And a lipstick stain on the one glass that had a piece of paper over it to show it was supposedly clean. The toilet barely flushed. The bathtub and sink were dirty. The beds were comfortable. But the front desk and valet staff were pleasant and nice.

The two beds in our room were so, so small. Full-sized. I assumed that a room for 4 people with 2 beds would be queen beds. Have you ever slept in a full sized bed with two adults? That is ROUGH.

Hotel was great. Staff was excellent and very helpful. The only negative thing I would have to say is that they need more mirrors in the rooms. As a family of 4 with myself and 2 teenage girls… one small over the sink mirror in the already small bathroom was not enough for us.

We were on the 10th floor and it was SO noisy. I heard people above us, to the side of us, even under us. Not sure if it was just a crazy few nights or the walls are so thin that it doesn’t matter. Besides that, it was an alright stay.

Sore back after three days of sleep on a mattress shaped like a taco. Toilet had us terrified of backing-up the whole time. Most of all, the only reason this could possibly be called a suite is because the bedroom was separate. Nothing else about it special in the least bit. Not the dirtiest hotel room I’ve seen, but not what I expected for the money. Not sure what’s up with the huge empty corner, seemed like maybe there was a kitchenette there at one point?

We stayed at the Double Tree on a weekend when the Steelers were playing at home to the Ravens. As a result the room was priced at more than twice the standard rate. Our stay was ok, but light sleepers should note a significant design flaw. The smoke detectors are positioned on the ceiling at the foot of the bed. You will not notice the bright flashing light that pulses every ten seconds during the day time. However, at night the light illuminates the room like a stroboscope! If you have a sleep mask, ensure that you bring it, when you stay at this hotel! The onsite valet parking is efficient, but also expensive, at $36 per day.

I booked 2 rooms. My 2nd room was booked for Kimberly Burkhart. We checked in, left our room for a bit to then find out that they also assigned this room to another couple giving them keys to Kimberlys room. This other couple went into Kimberlys room with out her knowledge or approval. VERY UNEXCEPTABLE. The front desk acted like it was our fault and offered nothing for having to spend another 45 minutes at the desk to get it straightened around. NOT HAPPY

overall, it was a great experience. Curtis was exceptional – he provided top-notch customer service and made me feel very welcome throughout my stay. The room was comfortable, and the amenities were solid. However, the parking situation was a bit inconvenient. Late at night, the valet area closes, forcing guests to park elsewhere, which wasn’t ideal. The dining area was okay – the food was decent but nothing to write home about. Despite these minor issues, I would definitely consider booking again for the excellent service and comfortable stay.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and have had no issues until this last stay. We stayed 2 nights and on the second night, after my wife had surgery, a family of 5 or 6 were booked into a nearby room. Around 11 p.m. their children were running up and down the halls, knocking on doors, screaming and yelling. Several of the other customers staying on the floor attempted to get the kids to quiet down, but the kids just cursed at the customers and kept being loud and obnoxious. The kids eventually went back to their room but were so extremely loud, it was impossible to go back to sleep. Finally around 11:30 p.m. I called the front desk to complain and they stated they would send up security. Security never went to that room. Around 12:30 a.m. the kids finally quieted down enough to allow us to go to sleep.

Spacious rooms which were cleaned on the daily, our towels were never replaced though despite making it clear that they had been used. Staff on front desk could be more friendly & welcoming. However, the bar staff at the restaurant/bar area were very hospital, welcoming and kind. The pool facility was okay, but our time in there was limited due to the heat of the room overall. My son also came out in a rash but that could just be from the change of water as our visit was from outside of the U.S. Overall, I think the area was very convenient location wise situated just over the road from the tube service and in the heart of downtown. We had a 7/11 next door for basic amenities, ensuring we didn’t have to travel far for anything we needed. The restaurant and bar was reasonably priced. The rooms were bigger than most and beds were comfortable. However, not the best Hilton hotel experience I’ve had, I think the property is a bit dated and lacked the overall expectation we anticipated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Doubletree. It was a convenient 5 minute walk to PPG arena. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was convenient as well. The staff were all very professional and helpful. We look forward to staying again in the future.

Our stay was nice. Good location. Friendly helpful staff. One major negative was the view from our room. Numerous less fortunate folks living in the park across the street. Most distressing was the viciously loud screaming argument at 6:00 am.

We were given a sheet at check in with what time breakfast was and the bar was open. Breakfast was until 11 am on Saturday. We went down at 10:20 am and were turned away. Why say it is until 11 if you really aren't?! The same thing happened with the bar that night. If you stop serving early, at least note that. Wouldn't go back for this reason. Otherwise, was a convenient location to the arena.

Great staff and delicious warm cookie. Best deal in the city. But there were so many issues. Everything on the first floor and the hallways are chic and modern. The room was clean and average with a really itsy-bitsy, tiny bathroom. Valet parking means you drive around the block to their parking garage, then they park it. $36 overnight. Dinner in the Bigelow Grille was very good. Large selection and reasonable. Understaffed but super nice people. Returned from a show about 11:15 on Friday night. After walking 6 blocks from the Benedum, we were hoping for a night cap. The bar was closed even though they were supposed to be open until 12:00. We were told they closed early because it was slow. It was suggested we could walk 3 or 4 blocks to a bar. Breakfast the next morning looked promising, Menu posted in the elevators show an extensive selection. Unfortunately they only have a $22 buffet on weekends, drinks extra. No ala carte. (We went to Eat N Park)

The only thing I had a real issue with was the fact that I was charged $47 for the breakfast buffet, that I assumed was free, for 2 people. The quality of the buffet was not any better than hotels I’ve stayed at with free breakfast buffets. As a matter of fact, it was the same food and, to be honest, some of the other hotels had better buffets. In fact, I stayed at a hotel, in Pittsburgh, and they had a free omelet station. If you’re going to charge something, it doesn’t need to in upwards of $23 for something that I came no where near eating that much, and it needs to be clearly stated how much you’re paying for subpar food. That was totally ridiculous. We could have eaten at a restaurant, gotten better food, and it would have been cheaper.

Do not eat at the restaurant. Understaffed, cold food and bland for dinner. The breakfast buffet was awful and $22/head. Only the yogurt, coffee and orange juice were edible and those are prepackaged. The room was clean but dated, especially the bathroom. Definitely not worth $350/night plus parking.
