Extended Stay America Suites - Chantilly - Dulles

Felt like home. Staff are friendly. Place is clean. Good for kids. Parking was pretty tricky, i had to park outside on the street as there were no spots available, and many others had to do the same.

Everything was great except the limited parking. I had checked in around 3:30, then left to meet some friends. Came back around 11 and there were no parking spots left. Either there aren’t enough spots for the number of rooms or the plethora of work trucks taking up two spaces. Other than that, the front desk was pleasant at check in and the room was clean and relatively updated.

Elevator and front door did not work. Problems with key card. Upgrades coming hopefully to solve problems

It looked nice on the outside but inside it was really dirty, smelled, and one of our rooms was so bad we couldn’t sleep in it and all 3 of us slept in one room. I think that someone previously had smoked in the room and they treated the carpet with something and it was so bad it triggered my friend’s asthma. He literally could not stay in that room. This morning he went back in there to make sure he had all his stuff and he said it smelled like covered up smoke. Disgusting. In addition, NONE of the elevators on the property work. We really enjoyed schlepping our heavy suitcases up 3 floors at 3 am. Would never stay here again.

Barely found a parking spot. Elevator was not working and we were put on the third floor.

There was no included breakfast- though cheerfully advertised. There were no kitchen items (cups, utensils, plates, paper towels, etc.) which is unacceptable for extended/quasi residential facilities. You could request them, but the point is to HAVE them. ALL OF THE WASHERS in the building were out of order. A person on duty offered to fix them, but after paying $5 for watered down detergent and climbing the stairs to wash my jeans that oil had spilled on during my travel - I just didn't want to be bothered. The ice machine was also broken and we had no ice trays in our freezer/room. The manager happily advised that we SHOULD have ice trays and that we could get a bag from the convenience store. THANKS! And had there been ice an ice tray in our freezer, we would've had a horrible time filling and accessing it because the refund and freezer doors were hinged to the wrong side! We had to shimmy between the sink and the fridge to flatten ourselves against the wall to open the damn doors! Top all of that off with giant(s) LIVING (literally) in the room above us who all but stomped through their floor/our ceiling amd anyone will know to NOT stay at this facility!

The parking lot is small and we had to park on the street at our own risk of being towed. Great perk for customers. Tiny bar of soap. Tiny tiny bottle of shampoo. Room was decent. Toilet looked like a gorilla had beaten on it all night. Not worth what you pay at all.

Bring your own roach motels. The front desk doesn't provide them. We killed at least 5 roaches and trapped another couple in the week we stayed here. I have pictures if anyone is interested. This used to be our favorite place to stay in the DC area but it has gone to the dogs. The security door didn't work, the elevator didn't work, the ice machine didn't work. Two of the clerks gave me hateful looks for requesting simple things like towels and ice. One actually gave me a lecture for requesting clean towels after 3:00 p.m. Stay at your own risk.

Signage on side of building was not visible from the street at night, not lit, completely covered by tall trees. Good mattress but the sheer curtains were shredded. Room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Elevator was not working, sign on it stated it had not been inspected since 2018. Breakfast bar was coffee, hot water for tea and cocoa packets, muffins, and oatmeal packets.

Complete dump, the room stunk and in the hallway reeks of Marijuana usage

The lady at the front desk did not listen to what we were saying and charged the wrong card for the security deposit. It took us fifteen minutes to check in because someone kept having to be called to fix issues with how we were being checked in. This included the fact the receptionist had to check if our room was okay. I reserved the room months in advance. I specifically got a non smoking room because I have difficulty with strong smells. As soon as we entered the building where our room was we were struck by a strong smell of weed. I had trouble breathing. When we got into the room, it was clear someone had just sprayed the room with air freshner instead of opening the door. We opened the windows and turned on the ac. It took forty minutes for the room to become bearable. The utensiles that were promised in the suite were absent. This was ridiculous.

We found three roaches in our room. Two dead ones and a live one in the shower. I felt so grossed out I couldn’t even take a shower. The room seemed clean; but to find a dead roach near our bed was disgusting.

When we walked in the door and turned on the lights we saw cockroaches scatter. The door would not accept our room card and were told we had to walk to the opened of the bldg. and use the other door. Then front desk said the elevator did not work so at 68 years old we had to carry our bags up the stairs to the third floor.

The room was comfortable for a family, it was clean, however there was a strong smell of cigarettes and marijuana everywhere even though it was supposed to be a non smoking facility.

Terrible place. We were there a full week. Door to our building was broken. Never fixed. Stove burner was broken. No water pressure for showers. Not clean. Hallway smells. Carpet is filthy. COCKROACHES in the kitchen. No place to dump trash outside. We won’t be back.

Upon settling in on the first night. I killed 2 big roaches and the Bathroom floor had a huge hair on the floor. Then on the second day after Maintenance spraying insecticide. I killed 2 more roaches. Property Management only offered to refund my money having to wait for it to refund back to my payment method. It was a very unsettling stay there for 3 nights. Terrible experience.

When we checked in we were given a room number and keys . The building was across the lot and we literally had to step over someone sleeping on sidewalk . The building was not secure as there was a rock literally holding open the door for anyone to enter . But worst of all when we entered room it was filthy . There was Chinese food , wrappers , water bottles strewn everywhere . The bed was unmade . The room smelled . We requested a full refund and had to find another hotel at 10 pm

Did not have updated means to charge electronics. Had to go to desk in order to get hair dryer. Glad I noticed before morning. No hot water. Had to shower with cold water. Parking lot was very full and many large pickups made it difficult to park. Bed was comfortable.

Overall the hotel stay was very good. We had a 2 bedroom suite which was clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and responsive. We had some trouble with the air conditioning not cooling and the microwave stopped working. The maintenance person came right away and both were fixed. No other issues. Only other problem was the shower never really got hot just lukewarm.

The exit door was stuck. The toliet didnt flush properly. The wifi password didnt work. At 730 in the morning, housekeeping opened the door because they said the room was vacant. When i went to check out, they told me that they had the room listed as vacant. Also, the person at the desk called my wife my mother because of our age difference.

The reception staff were very friendly and courteous. The manager asked us if we would change our room type due to an overbooking problem and we were happy to comply. When we checked into our rooms they were a bit smelly from the cleaning service and our floors were still wet, but no big deal. Our room was next to the main entrance and every time a new guest came in the entrance door slammed like an earthquake, so sleeping was a little difficult.

I check-in around 8 PM for an overnight stay, was happy that there is microwave and fridge in room, but it did not last long as I found cockroaches in kitchen area. Shower was not working properly, there was no hot water in shower.

A large space for the price. The room is definitely dated, but it is comfortable. The hallway had a smell, the pillows were uncomfortable, but you really can’t beat the price for the space.

The location was good - it was near good food, gas, and a reasonable drive into DC for sightseeing. But it wasn't very comfortable. The bed was hard a a rock. The place felt overall a bit grimy. We couldn't get more towels unless we brought a wet towel to the desk to swap it out - even though they did not provide enough towels for the number of people in our party. The key card would not open hallway doors, so we had to go back to the desk to reprogram everytime we left our room. The kitchen suite had no cups/plates/utensils, etc. unless you went to the desk to ask for them. The room felt very dark and the five pieces of 'art' on the walls were all mismatched and did not look like they belonged together. This is minor, but it speaks to the quality and cohesiveness of the hotel overall. The furniture in the living space in our room was not comfortable at all and after a day of sightseeing, I dreaded coming back because I knew it wouldn't be restful. For a room that sleeps six, there was not adequate seating for six in the room. I don't usually choose ESA hotels because the morning food offerings are wholly inadequate. After this stay I was reminded why I should continue to avoid this chain of hotel. On the whole, we were provided safe shelter for the night, but I definitely did not sleep well for two nights and did not leave feeling refreshed.

Stay was comfortable. I like having a full size refrigerator in the kitchen when I have a stay of 3 days or more.

I needed an overnight stay due to my flight being delayed. The receptionist was rude and with an attitude of annoyance with any type of work she was to preform. This set the tone for my stay. I asked for another set of sheets, pillows and towels for 4 people, the room was only set up for 2 guests. I felt so unwelcome, any other questions asked was returned with hostile attitude.

We were told expedia overbooked and they don’t have any room to accommodate us. So we had to find another hotel at 9:30 pm and pay extra to stay for the night.

They suck. They will ignore your calls or hang up on you. It takes days to talk to someone if you need help with your reservation. Hate this location.

If You Expect Basic Respect, Stay Elsewhere Checked in at 6:30 p.m. to a non-smoking room that reeked of weed smoke. I reported it immediately. The front desk refused to offer another room and said I could leave for a refund — at 8:00 p.m., with no help and no apology. When I explained I couldn’t sleep in that environment for health reasons, they refused to inspect the room, then called management, who never spoke to me. Instead, I was gaslighted — told I was the issue for being “too sensitive.” No support, no respect, just “leave or stay.” I left, as instructed. The refund never came. I spent two months chasing it through Expedia and my credit card. The hotel ignored everything. This is a hotel that hides behind policy, refuses responsibility, and does not care what happens to you once you check in. If I had children or older relatives with me, being kicked out at night would’ve been even worse. Shameful treatment. My advice: Don’t risk it!

Front desk staff was wonderful

I booked hotel thru hotels.com and paid $115 but at the of checkin reception desk charged again $95 and mentioned that they did not recieve payment from hotels.com. when connected to hotels.com they asked recipt and bank statement but did not refund the amount by saying tha they could not connect to hotel. Its ridiculous that a hotel is listed in the hotels.com and they can't connect to it. I still did not get the refund.

Staff was rude and had zero people skills, especially for hospitality. Check in process is long

Very difficult to reach staff at Front Desk when I called regarding my refundable deposit that remained on my credit card. I called every day for 3-5 days after the time had passed for the deposit to be refunded and no one ever answered the phone or returned my call. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to get my $100 refundable deposit credited back to my card. I also had to keep asking for a sheet, pillow and blanket for the sofa bed for my son. I asked 3 times and kept being told that someone would come right away. Four hours later, I went down to the Front Desk and the gentleman told me the sheets were being washed! What?!? Then, he said someone would bring the sheets, blanket and pillows to my room. I told him I would wait because I had already been told that 4 hours ago. He walked into a back room and came back with a blanket, a sheet and a pillow. This was a poor experience and I would not stay here again nor would I recommend this location to anyone I know.

This was a horrible experience. I had booked 2 nights and hit some bad traffic. I was traveling all night, a 10 hour drive. At 9:45 PM, I had called the property and told them that I was stuck in traffic in NYC. I explained that my GPS said I would be there at 1:45 AM. I let the front desk know this and the person I spoke to told me that it was not a problem. They said as long as I called and told them, they would hold the room. I arrived at 2:15 am and the person that was there told me they had no rooms left. I explained that I called and showed my phone log to show that I had spoke to someone. He said that he had no rooms left and that they had received no money from me to refund. He kept saying that. I told him that I paid in full. He told me to sit down in a very cold way. I asked to speak to his manager and he called the manager and wouldn’t let me speak to her initially. I then told him I was going to issue a complaint against this place with Expedia and the Better Business Bureau. The manager must have agreed to speak to me at this point. She told me that they sold the room and there was nothing they could do. I demanded my money back and asked her to contact Expedia to authorize the refund. She said I had to do this. Then, someone else came out to the front desk and apologized to me for this. By this time, it was after 3:00 AM. I was exhausted. He told me he would take the phone call from Expedia and authorize the refund right away. Not good exp

Good location with alot of restaurants close by. The room was clean and hotel was always quiet.

The staff were very friendly but my room smelled like animal urine and I had to switch rooms, the new room didn't smell bad but the water pressure in the shower was horrible. The parking is extremely limited and not very well lit, I thought the hotel was closed when I arrived.

It's in a very convenient location with all different shops near by. Just rented a car from airport and everything within 5 mins drive.

This facility was adequate and was clean, but is clearly run down, no frills. The hallway smelled bad as did the living room furniture in our room. The bedding was a very thin duvet wrapped in two flat sheets and there were no additional blankets available. No bedding is provided for the fold out sofa bed. There is a kitchen but the cabinets are completely bare. You are meant to be able to request a dishes pack but we went to the front desk twice, and no one was there. Though there was meant to be a grab and go breakfast, there was only one pot of coffee and two packages of oatmeal, no hot water, and then a front desk person put some packaged muffins out. She was nice and said her housekeeper was not in. When we checked in, though the reservation was in my name, the person required that I go out to the car in the rain, to get my husbands photo id in order to check us both in and asked if the kids were older, in which case she would require photo id from them also. There is no ice machine and the water in the room was warm. The shower head, though we tried every setting, just dribbled out water barely enough to wash your hair. We tried to check out and turn in our key, but again there was no one any where to be found at the front desk. The people we interacted with were nice. The location is actually great as it is near the space museum and lots of restaurants. We felt safe and the rate was inexpensive so we’re changing this up to, you get what you pay for.

We enjoyed our stay. We did have a bit of a hard time locating the hotel because the sign was not visible from the road. Thank you.

Easy reach air port and shop

It was good for an over night stay from the airport. Convenient and clean.

Room was clean and in good condition, the doors are not very disabled people friendly though and they are heavy. The morning breakfast could be better wasn't that great. Coffee was good though, overall not bad for the price.

The property was specified as smoke free but it was not, also it was not clean as well as not provided proper breakfast (it was not breakfast, it was coffee and snacks). Hotel doesn't have vassels in kitchen, doesn't have paper towels, tissues etc. Overall very bed experience on the hotels till now.

cheap in price. everything in room was fine.kitchenette, but no dishes. shower could use more water pressure. Good breakfast next door at bob evans. But lets be real, since rooms the are $30-$40 less than others nearby, you can splurge for breakfast or lunch, and it doesnt matter its only light roast in the lobby.

Listing said breakfast ibcluded. Mini muffins, granola bars and instant oatmeal. Yhis was misleading and terrible. We arrived very late after driving all night to find ourvroom was canceled duevto no show. The did find us acroom but a phone call priorvto canceling would gave been nice.

Stop advertising breakfast if all you're offering is a cup of coffee and a muffin the size of a ping pong ball. And quit using the excuse of covid - that was a tired explanation perpetrated by the politicians then and it's even more tired now. Other than that, the stay was great and service was good too.
