Property was nice inside. Staff was nice. Rooms were nice but the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything even when the toilets flushed. Spa was kind of gross. Valet was expensive but worth it.

We came for the World's Toughest Row Event in Monterrey and stayed 3 days. The room was clean, correctly stocked and ready at 7 pm. The shower did leak as the washer in the shut off valve was worn down. We did not want to bother with the repair as it was never attended to do even by the staff who visited daily. The room set point had to be set at 60 F as the ventilation was a single register pointing to a wall at the far side of the room and was inadequate in design or performance. There was police activity on Friday night at 3 am with loud banging within the hotel. Doors at 5 am banging since there are no door retarders. The valet service was expensive (they park around the corner and down the road which we failed to recognize as we were tired for $3). The attendants scraped the vehicle and threw trash in the back of the car. I don't recommend the service. The restaurant staff were courteous and the head of the house on the Saturday night was very helpful when we were exhausted from the day at the dock by getting our food ready and calling us, unlike other Marriott residences e.g. Marriott in Baltimore Inner Harbor, when it was available for pickup. Overall, I would not stay here again. There are other properties in the vicinity that I would explore.

Awesome location, great family pool and hot tub. Nice in house restaurant and bar. My only complaint is that there was a bunch of black hair all over the shower. I asked for it to be cleaned and the trash taken out. Over 3 days no one ever cleaned our room even after I requested it at the front desk. The only convenient parking is valet for $40 a night. It ended up being about $400/nt. For that I think they should have cleaned our room once.

The hotel is in a centric area with easy access to the trolleys that can take you to the Monterey Bay Aquarium or Cannery Row for free. The centric area has its disadvantages with parking and with a busy hot tub and pool. The room was comfortable and clean as described.

NIce, modern property in the downtown of Monterey. Parking is Valet only, so plan ahead when checking out. I thought it was pretty noisy, especially because my room was above the pool.

The staff was nice and friendly. The windows were unclean, the property needs outdoor maintenance. The view from the room wasn't enjoyable because the windows were so dirty. Hair on the bathroom floor. Corridors and neighboring rooms were too noisy.

Room was not vacuumed and hallway had trash littered. Hotel front desk is nice and convenient location, but the dirtiness of the room was a turn off considering the price of the rooms. Also, valet service makes it difficult to take cars out in the morning due to influx of customers waiting to check out and leave the hotel.

Great property! Super friendly and helpful staff. My husband and I were traveling with our 11 month old and had a great time at this hotel. The best part is that it smells and looks clean, which is a huge plus when traveling with an infant that loves to put everything in his mouth.

Great location, 5 min walk to fisherman’s wharf. Nice hotel, clean, staff was great, very accommodating to kids for example free popcorn and cotton candy. But, the walls were very thin, our room was across the gym. We had a hard time sleeping because people who used the gym would slam the doors, drop the dumbbells or played their music really loud. Also it seems like everyone brought their dogs with them. I’m ok with that, but I didn’t appreciate being awaken by dogs barking throughout the night. Maybe have pet owners stay on the same floor?

For the price the room was noisy, slider didn’t keep noise out. I could hear neighboring room alarms going off all morning. Could hear next door guests talking, and they weren’t talking loud, simply no insulation between rooms. Room had been updated recently however.

Our stay began with the friendliest greeting by your registration desk. We were early and the room was not yet ready, but she gave us a map with options to walk around in the area and called us on the cell as soon as our room was ready and still ahead of check in time. THANK YOU for such a friendly atmosphere from beginning to end.

I was shocked to learn we had to request our room to be cleaned rather than it just being cleaned. We weren’t told about this until I complained when we checked out. I was also shocked to see that “room service” for food meant you had to go to the lobby to pick up your food. This is in Monterey, Ca. not some place out in the country. And this is a Marriott. I expect better.

I purchased two rooms, one was regular double beds the onther was an ADA room with no communication at checkout that they issued ua an ADA room. The beds were extremely low to the ground and uncomfortable, the counters and furtinure were as weel. This is not what I reserved or paid for. I was told there were no other rooms I could switch to. Bait and switch successfully implemented by Marriott to a rewards member. Great way to treat a loyal customer.

We got in early, And as expected there was no room ready. that wasn't a big deal. we were able to leave our bags at the front desk while we went and walked around the harbour. The girl at the front desk said she would put a rush on our room and it would be ready an hour or two, when we got back to the hotel four fours later our room still wasn't ready. they had it ready 20 minutes later. Not sure what they mean but put a rush on a room meansd to them, but when you tell a customer you will have a room ready in two hours, it needs to be done by then. Also the hot tub was hit or miss as to when it would work or not. that was a big bummer after walking around all day
