When we arrived there were issues with the water, so it was turned off for a few hours but we didn’t mind cause we were going to be out all day anyways. Breakfast was pretty light, parking was good for the most part, kind of tight. We’d stay there again for sure.

This is an older property; however it is very clean and well maintained. The room was pretty spacious. There were good choices for a continental breakfast, even a cool self serve/touch less pancake maker. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My only dislike is the pool. I got different responses from (different) staff re: the pool’s heating ie no heating at all, broken igniter, it’s already been fixed but will take a week for it to work/get warm. Also, I don’t think it’s ever covered so there were a lot of bugs and other floaties in it; but it wasn’t too bad. Overall, we very satisfied with our stay and would stay here again.

The place was decent. Beds and couch were very uncomfortable. All the tvs were small (especially the one in the living room). The hot tub was more like a warm tub. The pool was dirty and the water was very cold but that didn't stop my young kids from jumping in. Overall, I don’t plan on coming back because I didn't sleep well.

The staff was awesome. Check in with Socorro was easy and quick. I would have gave it a 5-Star but they did not clean my room the first day. I went to inquire if they have daily housekeeping and they did. I spoke to Rachel and she said housekeeping was busy and didn’t get to my room. I said no problem if they can just clean it the next day. Well it was cleaned but very sloppy. There was some wrappers on the floor that were not picked up. There was trash in the entrance of my room. Housekeeping only left 2 towels and there were 3 of us. The body soap was not replaced. I forgot ours so was using the one there. I went to the front desk to get it. Not a big deal but they should have replaced it. That was my only complaint. Everything else was great. Good variety of breakfast items and the 24 coffee/tea/hot chocolate was a plus. Definitely staying again next time I go to Monterey.

1. It took 4 trips to the front desk to get a key that worked. 2. The bathtub had an enormous clump of hair & old, used soap (clearly not cleaned). 3. No AC (my fault for missing that), no fan (as promised in the listing). 4. The elevator was making loud noises & my firefighter husband thought it was unsafe. 5. The bed had an old mattress that had a huge crater in the middle. 6. As we were checking in we overheard a lady saying “RVing is looking better and better right now” which totally sums it up.

The workers were so helpful and kind! This is why I would stay here again… because of them! The sheets were kind of gross but they fixed the issue and everything was good! Great place!

Overall, the trip was OK. However, I have two things that made the rating just OK. The first, and major one, is soundproofing of the room. Our neighbors woke up at 5 am, and we could hear every word said! Then the alarm in their room went off at 6 am after they left. It was going off non-stop until I called the front deck. It was immediately taken care of, though. Also, this hotel is in the flight zone for planes going to/from the airport, but so is the Hampton Inn, where I also stayed. I have no complaints about the noise there but the cost is also higher. The second one is the breakfast. In the lobby, there is a board with what will be for breakfast the next day. For example, there were bacon and sausage listed for Friday. Guess what - no bacon, no sausages; they had Jimmy Dean pre-made sandwiches with egg, cheese and a patty of some meat instead in the warmer. It's not a big deal; it's food, regardless. Plus, they had bagels, cream cheese, yogurt, boiled eggs and some cereal. On the other hand, there are a couple of excellent places to eat nearby, for all budgets from small (Denny's) to quite expensive (Monterey Cookhouse)

The room was very clean but the mattress was worst I’ve ever slept on. It needs to be replaced. The walls were so thin that we could hear every thing the people were saying next door. The staff where very friendly and helpful.

The room I had was the family suite. It was very spacious - 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms. Beds were queen size. What I did not like is that the rooms advertised look nothing like the actual room. The room was very outdated: wallpaper, carpet, bathrooms, sofa, chairs, tables, etc. There is no A/C and the fans provided don’t blow that much. We were there 2 nights and it was hot. The tvs are new but limited cable channels and unable to connect to WiFi (unable to use Netflix or YouTube). The water smelled strong (chlorine smell). Limited parking and very tight spaces. Location is good, breakfast was ok and staff was very friendly. Other than that, I think it’s very overpriced. It definitely needs some renovations.

This is an older property that needs updates. Door locks are VERY hard to get to work, the heater in the room has hot and hotter settings only (as in turn the heater on and you are in a sauna), and the mattress needs to be replaced right away. On the plus side, the front desk people were very friendly and helpful, the property is clean, and the room was very spacious.

I am a best western club member. I was assigned a very poorly located room which I asked to change. The person in charge said they were full. I spent a very sleepless night because of the room location. When I asked the desk clerk the next day she told me they had 3-4 rooms vacant. Very poor service!!!

There was nothing good about this property at all. It is untidy, run down, with rude staff and should be avoided by anyone visiting Monterey. We booked our room several months in advance, and was put in a room that was next to the front door, foyer and breakfast area. We checked in at 3.00pm. When I asked if we could be moved, the young lady on the desk was dismissive and extremely rude in her tone, when I asked if I could speak to the manager, she simply replied he was not on the property at this time and that due to renovations in some rooms nothing could be done. Obviously the front desk did not tell the manager I was not satisfied, as we never heard from them. We could hear the humming of the juice machine through the wall all night and then the commotion created by staff setting up for the breakfast from around 5.30am, then the noise generated from other hotel guests having breakfast from 6.00am. As this is a pet friendly hotel, the room smelt of dog and the settee/lounge was a disgrace and should either be deep cleaned or thrown out. The mattress (king bed) was old and lumpy and had a pronounced dip in the middle, which made for an extremely uncomfortable night. We selected this hotel based on the Expedia ratings, however on this occasion they were way off. Do not take any notice of the photo's provided by the hotel for this property as they are not a true representation of what to expect. We paid a premium price for a below standard hotel.

Great spot. Clean, reasonably priced, super courteous, friendly and helpful staff. Rachael, front desk attendant, was super helpful and knowledgeable, she went above and beyond, showing us a room ahead of booking, and making us feel welcome.

They had a maintenance man walk in my room with out knocking and just stood there like a pervert and looked around before saying sorry and walking out smiling. It was almost 2 hours before checkout. Also I had to leave the windows closed for all 3 nights because each screen to the window was messed up and my 1 year old can easily climb over the window and fall. Completely unsafe and unprofessional.

We had a fantastic stay here in Monterey! The hotel was exceptionally clean, which made for a very comfortable experience. One of the highlights was the great breakfast—plenty of options, fresh, and a perfect way to start the day. The location was also a big plus. It was close enough to the freeway for easy access but still near all the fun attractions Monterey has to offer. Whether it was the aquarium, Cannery Row, or the scenic coastline, everything was just a short drive away. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely return. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Monterey! Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)

This place was perfect for us took the wife and kids and we enjoyed it. The breakfast was delicious and the bed was comfortable. Service was super friendly. Location was right next to a Denny’s so it was convenient for us. I would definitely stay here if I’m in the area again!

Its noisy on the grounds since its on a major street and under airport routes but with windows closed it hardly noticable. Planes aren't an issue at night as airport doesn't allow take off or landing after 10 pm or before 6AM.

Very quick and easy check in. Very friendly staff. Very clean room and grounds. Seemed like a newer property. Close to airport, fairgrounds and Del Monte Golf Course. However too far to walk to downtown Monterey or the beach areas. Would recommend

Our first stay at this hotel was nice. However, three months later on our second stay, we found it to be disappointing. We chose to come back because there was charging for EV in the carport, however, we were told that the manager decided to lock it up. WHY? Pancake machine was out of service because it was out of pancake mix. Why not refill it??! Parking was difficult and full so we had to park on the street unlike our last stay. Water pressure in bathroom sink was very low. Overall completely different from our last stay at this hotel.

At check-in, the gentleman at the desk told me that my room was ready but a repair needed to be made…I asked for—and received—a different room. The room was spacious and clean, but it was very cold in it. There was only a wall heater that would run for about 20-30 seconds before shutting off, and it would come back on for another cycle a short time later. It finally got warm by the next morning when we were about to leave. A single very slow elevator was available, but walking was quicker. Breakfast is heavy on carbs, with the proteins coming an a pre-packaged biscuit with bacon/sausage and egg.
