Blue JackTar

This was a lovely stay. Only complaint is that the shower never got hot in the morning and the jacuzzi was closed. Lovely staff. Would come here again!

The beach and pool are convenient. Pool’s bar was not open.

This establishment is false, the pictures are false and it’s under renovations and construction . It’s unfortunate cause will and the staff we met were terrific and so nice but the establishment and rooms and amenities itself is all a lie . The room looks like project based rooms unless you ask to be in a villa the first night the drains didn’t work and the floors were brown in the room I complained due to the second night my toliet was flooded and I had to move to a villa in the middle of the night . The villa was nice and comfortable the tv only in Spanish and there no Netflix , or other media , but the WiFi still didn’t work in the villa the WiFi never worked it was horrible . The staff were accommodating but I had to complain in order to get the right services. The pictures you see are the condos that people brought and you can rent them out sometime on air b n b. As well as when you look on Til Tom those are the condos. The swim up bar doesn’t exist is out of service and will never work . There no convention ac center you eat breakfast outside as a buffet and no center air there is a fan . Cabana are nice but need to be renovated. This entire hotel is under construction and the gym you have to make reservation, its in a Construction site and looks like a hole in the wall. Beside the fraud of the establishment the workers have been helpful and was very nice and welcoming . When I complain I witness things being clean and stuff being done but it shouldn’t take that !

The facilities (room) was dated, but mostly worked fine. The restaurant was good/friendly/clean. The beach-side restaurant was under construction (being renovated).

If you’re going to stay here, request the newly renovated Villas (1 story building with 3 rooms). The other 2 story buildings are very outdated, the balcony faces onto a golf course and swap area. The bathroom is very old and upon check-in my bathroom wasn’t fully cleaned, with hairs on the floor and in the dated bathtub. Dining options are limited to 1 restaurant on site, that is quite pricey. The servers don’t speak much English, and such my order came out wrong 2 separate occasions. There are a couple other dinings options if you walk along the beach to another area. Uber is not allowed onto the property and Taxis take long to get there. Taxi charges 2-3x what Uber charge. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Property was lovely. Very quiet. Beach clean. Pool beautiful and refreshing( couldn’t figure out the hot tub jets.) Everyone was very helpful,

We give Blue Jack Tar a very good rating. It will be excellent in a year (March 2026) when the construction, which we did hear from our room, is finished. Mostly it's paradise, the beach, the pool, the surrounding area. One man got off a tour bus that was visiting Blue Jack Tar and said:" I think I died and went to heaven." The staff, Melanie, Daisy, Carlos, is excellent. The breakfast kitchen is fast; the restaurant kitchen of Green Jack Tar is slow, often waited an hour for our food. In terms of rooms, the golf course side is best to ask for, specifically the golf course side of Villas #1,3,5 and townhouses 66,67,68. Thanks for a great vacation.

The value for the beachfront property was incredible. Unfortunately the two drawbacks were the pool with lots of debris in it and the gym that was extemely lacking of good equipment.

There was a construction and no parking near room

La propiedad está bien, la playa muy bonita, pero le falta mantenimiento y un mayor control de plagas. Vi un ratón en el área del desayuno a las 5 PM. El día de nuestra salida no nos pudimos bañar, no salía agua de la regadera. Por último, en la playa, ningún mesero nos ofreció nada, si quieres algo lo tienes que ir a buscar porque jamás te ofrecen nada.

Lo que más mes gustó fue la limpieza de la habitación, la ropa de cama y toallas súper limpias y blancas.

Cleanliness is the most outstanding quality. I think the facilities need an upgrade.

First of all, the staff are rock stars!!!!! They all were very friendly, attentive and did a great job! Green Jack could improve by explaining some dishes. Overall, the rooms NEED updating!!!!! Not

The staff are very friendly and helpful! This hotel is older so one should expect to find an older pool, older sliding doors and bath tubs etc. I was not planning to need to spend the night in Puerto Plata but I am definitely thinking about planning a trip back to stay here again!

The quality of the man power at the hotel, they were kind, competent and ready to help. I have stayed there before many times and I have never being disappointed

The staff is moderately friendly- that's it. Don't expect them to go out of their way to help you with much. This resort is like a Jr. High girl getting all dressed up to go to the High School. It needs new management and to begin an overall of the existing spaces. Two positives-- it's a short walk to the beach, and the food is quite good. I won't stay again.

2nd time to the property. As with the first visit, nice rooms and the Green Jacktar restaurant is excellent. This visit however, the beach was overcrowded with people bussed in from cruise ships. There was a loud party at Jacks that went past midnight, so loud I couldn't sleep. And when I went to have a drink at Jacks during the day, I was just ignored because of all the cruise ship people. Unfortunately, I think I'll try another resort next time.

We loved the friendly and helpful staff -- ftom the front desk, to the maintenance staff, to the servers at thr restaurants. We also enjoyed the beautiful pool and easy access to the gorgeous beach.

A great overall stay. Clean, quite, safe. Food was good. Beach was great. Easy in and out of complex and close to the airport

The location is great. I loved that it wasn’t an all-inclusive because I didn’t feel obligated to eat on-site, however, we had dinner on site every night and the food and service was excellent.

Dirty and limited dining.

Hotel is really quiet and villa area is beautiful. In a old hotel and need renovations. Now, the food there is just spectacular.order the CHILLO SAN FELIPE AND THE MAHI MAHI CEVICHE. Food has 5 stars!

From check in to check out it was as a great experience. The beach is beautiful. Food and drinks were great. The place is clean and comfortable. This is the third time my husband and I stay here and we will definitely return.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Its a quiet place where you can relax with a nice beach. They serve good breakfast. The main restaurant Green Jack serves good food and drinks. The Tiki bar is nice, but not impressed with the food the tiki bar served me. This is the second time I stay there.

Older resort but it was nice. Great air conditioning in the rooms. On this island that’s not always the case. Beach was nice. Had the pool all to ourselves. Good breakfast a la carte. Thumbs up.
