The room they put us in initially (Room 18) is terrible. It is in the basement and the air quality is poor. I couldn't breathe. they list it as a double-superior room. It is not. Frankly, it should not be used at all because of the poor ventilation and the dampness. They moved us to a better room (Room 3) the next day which was nice. However, there is no dresser or proper closet to store your clothes. Bathroom shower is the size of a phone booth. No lift, so be prepared to bring luggage up numerous steep flights of stairs. Breakfast was good. The hotel is very clean and the location is great.

It's a lovely building in a beautiful street. It was well done, the staff were superb and breakfast was very good. The room was small, we asked for a second chair as there was two of us. The ensuite was very smart, if slightly small, you had to squeeze around quite a bit. It was nice if not amazing. Good to have an early bar option and cosy lounge area.

The position for Bath City everything is just 400m away. Breakfast was a breadth of choice and service was quick and yet relaxed. It is unfortunate that they used to have parking with the B&B using permits but Bath City Council took those away!!?? A mistake of administration!!

We were on the second floor requiring 52 stairs, with no lift. It would be difficult if not fit, we struggled. Otherwise a great location walk to bath, restaurants attractions and train. The breakfast room is top shelf a real experience Big issues with parking though its very busy and metered at front of hotel. Parking areas away from motel.

Lovely place right in the heart of Bath with very friendly staff and superb breakfast choices. Very easy access to shops and some superb local restaurants. Only downside is lack of parking, but this is easily resolved with several options just 5-10 minute walk away.

A lovely B&B in a nice Georgian era property, located on the prestigious Great Pultney Street just a short 5 minute walk from the centre of everything. If you don't mind stairs this is a Great place to stay in Bath.

It is a small, boutique like hotel. We were in room 9, a twin attic room on the 5th floor. There is no lift but we were aware of that when booking. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Its compact but had everything we needed, including a good choice of hot drinks and a kettle. Breakfast was amazing, good choices and perfectly cooked and served by friendly staff. Its perfectly situated for walking into the city centre, and a 20min level walk to the train station. I would highly recommend

A very nice property with clean rooms and very friendly and professional staff. Breakfast had a variety of options, I had the full english. Only a 5 minute walk from Pulteney Bridge and the Holburne Museum, with the rest of the city within easy walking distance. The wifi is free although it did drop randomly from time to time. Fortunately there are several hotspots within the property so if this happens you can just connect to a different one. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay and would happily stay again.

Pleasant decor, good quality sheets and towels. We stayed in three different rooms over the course of one week. Rooms on the lower level have a distinct odor in the bathrooms. I don't know what it is. Smells like cats. All rooms have very slow shower drains. It is necessary to turn off water and wait for accumulated water to drain, or it will overflow.

Truly perfect location in central Bath. Solid English breakfast, though coffee could be improved. Our Room One seemed quite affordable given that it was peak Christmas season (140 quid/night). Also, we had a large suitcase and I only had to lug it up one flight of stairs. The downside: the room felt cramped, especially given that we had to dress for a black tie wedding. The adjoining bathroom was even smaller. So if you need a bit more space, make sure that you're not buying Room One. To the hosts: your shower stall handle was very loose. We managed to deal with it, but wanted to bring it to your attention.

The location is excellent. It is within easy walking distance of many Bath attractions. Breakfast is also excellent. I did not like the extreme difficulty in connecting to WIFI. It was available on the ground floor, but not in my room.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Edgar Townhouse! My room was clean, comfortable and had a a lovely view - it was perfect for a solo traveller. All of the staff were very helpful and made me feel very welcome there. It's in a great walking distance from the city centre, and even walking back quite late felt safe.

Great location, amazing to be staying on great pulteney street. Staff were all lovely, and breakfast was good. Only factor to note is it was quite cold in our room in the afternoon and morning, the heating didn't seem to be on, and there was no way of increasing how warm our room was. That being said, if you're planning to be out all day this wouldn't be an issue.

this is the second time here and a great place to stay close to most things but far away not to be to noisy. the one down side was I could hear everything going on in room 12. Breakfast was good. will be staying here again.

We had such a lovely stay at Edgar Townhouse! The staff there are incredibly friendly and accommodating. They kindly stored our luggage for us before and after our stay so that we didn't have to carry it around with us as we waited for our flights. They also went as far as to offer to prepare us snacks and drinks when we were leaving too early to attend breakfast - everyone was very sweet! The location is also very convenient, as it is super close to the downtown core of Bath - everything was very walkable. Would absolutely stay here again!

We couldn’t have been more happy staying at the Edgar Townhouse! Debbie greeted us, and she was ever so helpful, warm, and friendly. She was full of suggestions and recommendations as well…she gladly made dinner reservations for us that evening at a lovely restaurant upon our arrival. Our room was large, beautiful, and clean…our children were in heaven. We stayed seven nights, and we loved every minute. The breakfast each morning was lovely as well. We couldn’t have been more happy staying at the Edgar Townhouse! Debbie greeted us, and she was ever so helpful, warm, and friendly. She was full of suggestions and recommendations as well…she gladly made dinner reservations for us that evening at a lovely restaurant upon our arrival. Our room was large, beautiful, and clean…our children were in heaven. We stayed seven nights, and we loved every minute. The breakfast each morning was lovely as well. All of the staff were so nice and friendly. Of course, we couldn’t go wrong with its location. I highly recommend staying here if you are planning a visit to Bath!

Quite possibly the loveliest host I've ever met at a hotel. Debbie went above and beyond for me. If there was a book to be written about how to be the best host and hotel manager, then Debbie would be the main character in it. Welcoming, genuine, and warm - she anticipated our needs before we even knew we had any! The single room I'd booked was right at the top of the hotel - not sure how many flights of stairs, but it was a workout. Possibly not the best option if you are unfit or physically challenged, but it's a lovely compact and immaculately clean little nook with everything you could need. The thin galley bathroom is pretty tight but absolutely immaculate and the shower was pretty decent. The best part of the room? An AC unit directly over the bed. Since there was a heatwave at the time of my visit and the attic room in direct sunlight for some of the day, it was a Godsend and made the room pleasant and cool. A massive standout to note was the breakfast. Fresh ingredients, beautifully cooked, and presented with care. Juices, cereals, and toast were in plentiful supply as well as continental options, but the full English was so good that it kept me going until 9pm, even after a long day. There was never any feeling of being rushed in and out for breakfast, check in/out, or a problem leaving luggage with the hotel on checkout. The lounge room was relaxing and comfortable and it's beautifully decorated. Will DEFINITELY return!

The position for Bath City everything is just 400m away. Breakfast was a breadth of choice and service was quick and yet relaxed. It is unfortunate that they used to have parking with the B&B using permits but Bath City Council took those away!!?? A mistake of administration!!

A lovely B&B in a nice Georgian era property, located on the prestigious Great Pultney Street just a short 5 minute walk from the centre of everything. If you don't mind stairs this is a Great place to stay in Bath.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Edgar Townhouse! My room was clean, comfortable and had a a lovely view - it was perfect for a solo traveller. All of the staff were very helpful and made me feel very welcome there. It's in a great walking distance from the city centre, and even walking back quite late felt safe.

It is a small, boutique like hotel. We were in room 9, a twin attic room on the 5th floor. There is no lift but we were aware of that when booking. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Its compact but had everything we needed, including a good choice of hot drinks and a kettle. Breakfast was amazing, good choices and perfectly cooked and served by friendly staff. Its perfectly situated for walking into the city centre, and a 20min level walk to the train station. I would highly recommend

This was so convenient to walk to anything you might want to do in Bath without the noise that comes with being in a busy city centre!! The building is gorgeous and the staff were so helpful and knowledgeable about the city. Will definitely be coming back here next time I’m in Bath!

Truly perfect location in central Bath. Solid English breakfast, though coffee could be improved. Our Room One seemed quite affordable given that it was peak Christmas season (140 quid/night). Also, we had a large suitcase and I only had to lug it up one flight of stairs. The downside: the room felt cramped, especially given that we had to dress for a black tie wedding. The adjoining bathroom was even smaller. So if you need a bit more space, make sure that you're not buying Room One. To the hosts: your shower stall handle was very loose. We managed to deal with it, but wanted to bring it to your attention.

The location is excellent. It is within easy walking distance of many Bath attractions. Breakfast is also excellent. I did not like the extreme difficulty in connecting to WIFI. It was available on the ground floor, but not in my room.

Amazing place , staff are all so helpful, friendly and very thoughtful. Comfortable bed I have ever slept in . Breakfast was yummy , cater for gluten free and vegan you can preorder if you are short of time , appointments ect . Fully recommend anyone looking somewhere to stay in bath . You really will be looked after so very well. Theo and Debbie wow you are fantastic at your job , nothing was too much trouble for you at all . Thank you very much to all staff to makes us feel so welcome , during our stay .we stayed for 3 nights as our son was starting university at bath ,we will definitely be back and recommend it to everyone too . Never met the manager while staying, but can I say if your read this review, wow your staff are amazing you are very lucky to have such very friendly, hardworking staff . I only stayed one night. I liked the design using old and new very original, the lounge especially and yellow painted walls leading up to the bedrooms, with old brass bedpans. The lounge very cosy indeed. Breakfast was average. I think updating the bacon and egg with fresh fruit instead of canned and good fresh bakery items, local products jams marmalade honey for example. I travel a lot:)

Good breakfast (I had full English - too much mushroom, and the sausage too smoked and burned, perhaps Black pudding and/or baked beans should be options, but otherwise good). Room on top floor tiny and bath minuscule, but ok. Standard quality of soaps, I usually bring my own (organic) so no problem. Excellent location only 10-15 min from train station, and 1-2 excellent pubs for an evening ale nearby.
