We had a great stay at the Francis hotel in the city center. The standard of the hotel was fantastic, but no elevator made the return to the room 3rd floor a nightmare. Parts of the hotel were under construction but thatvdidn’t affect our stay.

Great Location, Staff brilliant, fantastic Hotel, food and service was spot on, Parking was easy in the hotel Car park, although as I guest the £20 was nothing, but would have thought as staying at the Hotel should have been free.

Not only the facilities were beautiful but the staff was helpful, professional, and always available. Not eat at the restaurant, however we did frequent the bar for drinks and desserts. Both were very good as was the bartender service.

1. Car parking not available. Booked this hotel in part because of its car park. Confusing diversion road signs and not being able to book a space ahead of time, meant that the car park was already full by the time we arrived and we ended up parking some distance away. Not warned of this at the time of booking. 2. Check-in time delayed and offered nowhere to store suitcase. The room was not still not ready by the check-in time of 3 pm and we were not offered anywhere to stow our suitcase while we waited. 3. WiFi terrible. WiFi signal was patchy and slow. 4. Staff were so-so and service was disappointing for a 4 star hotel. Overall was 'meh' and would not recommend.

Great reception and super helpful staff. They helped us get our luggage up to the room and very very communicative ahead of time about the lifts being temporarily out. Also gave us excellent advice for parking. Feels like we got an absolute steal staying here.

We’ve stayed here several times.p and always been very happy. Our room was recently updated and was very good, the building work was ongoing, but didn’t disturb us. It did mean the small car park was closed, but public parking is within a few minutes walk.

Our newly renovated room was amazing, but it was super difficult to come and go. The construction workers lectured us about walking down the hallway to our room. We had to arrive and exit through the back alley way through a construction zone. We even had to carry out our luggage through the back alley way when we left. The construction workers would wake us up at 6:00 a.m. banging right outside our room. It was awful. I understand and appreciate remodeling, but I don’t want to pay to be in the middle of it!

There was construction happening so the restaurant was closed but we were offered a complimentary breakfast from the continental in the morning. A great selection and fresh breakfast each morning. The room was very comfortable. The WiFi was not the strongest connection. Great location as its central and nearby to many of the attractions and restaurants.

Negatives: part of curtain in room hanging from rail, dodgy remote control/tv, stains on arm chair seats in room, stains in lounge area sofa. Overall, quite nice but..... finer detail in general appearance seems to have be neglected, lacks quality in relation to value for money.

My wife and I just stayed for one night. Lovely building and location in the city centre. We booked the superior double room (no. 130). It felt like a standard double, so I’m not sure what made it ‘superior’, but it was quite adequate for our needs. Comfy bed, although they had attached two mattresses together. Attractive room with some quirky features (I’m not sure about having the framed picture on the ceiling!?). The basic complementary minibar was appreciated. Lovely, quiet vibe. Very little disturbance, inside or outside the building. If I was being picky I would highlight things like the stains on the duvet (fake tan possibly?); marks on the wall; faulty shower head with water spraying out of the back where the hose joins the shower head; curtains didn’t close fully around the rail which meant there was light shining in early in the morning. None of these issues bothered us particularly, but the room could do with a little TLC. It wasn’t cheap, but given its location I wouldn’t expect it to be.

I love to travel and find the cute hotels and pictures if this hotel on all websites do make it look magical. One photo that is very deceiving on this website is the second photo of a steamy nice pool that overlooks the city. Instead of labeling this picture not at the hotel but at a paid bathhouse down the road it looks like it’s part of the hotel- one of the main attractions of the hotel when it’s not. The rooms are okay. They are very small- I was a solo traveler and I can’t imagine how two people would be in this room comfortably. The bathroom was nice however slightly dirty and some mildew in the corners of the shower with very little airflow as after a 5 minute hot shower the room was still foggy after two hours of me coming back into room. No fan. The view was overlooking a construction site and even without the construction it would be a not nice courtyard. The main thing that really put me off was that the WiFi didn’t work, causing me to use almost all my international data just to get around and therefor the tv didn’t work for anything but local stations even tho it says you can connect with your phone, when asking at the front desk the woman said sorry our WiFi signal is too week to accommodate- so why have the QR code and say you can steam tv? Why not have better WiFi? Its a giant hotel surely they can sort it out, especially when someone is paying over $350 a night for a room. Overall I wish I stayed somewhere else - it was close to the town but everything is

This place is still being refurbished so there was scaffolding around and we had to walk through part of the building works to get to our room. However, our room was beautiful! Large and modern with a Chromecast TV. The breakfast was great and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was also perfect for walking anywhere in the centre of Bath. I would definitely come back here in future.

Like it's character, different and unique. Dislike very unlevel floors, very poor sound insulation. Floors and ceilings shaking, loud impacts and creaking walls. Very hard to sleep unless exhausted.

Very nice hotel. We didn’t use much of the facilities as our activities had us around the city of Bath. However- the room was stuffy and warm. Found t change the thermostats. A fan and look hater xo forget would have been useful.

Room was really nice - we only booked a cosy room and I was not expected it to be as big. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud! Really nice hotel, excellent service - a free drink at the bar for all residents was a lovely touch. The hotel even smelled amazing!! Highly recommend

Was aware of the refurbishment but was not aware I’d be woken shortly after 7am by workmen shouting and climbing scaffolding outside my window. Door hinges in ‘refurbished’ block need a full review - lots of doors slamming at all times. No soundproofing between rooms. Rain shower disappointing.

Superb staff saved the day for this property The internal condition of the hotel and our room were lovely - but the external renovations are making the reception to room experience pretty horrible. Once these external works are completed all should be well I rate highly the door guys, bar staff and restaurant team (fantastic food) The reception staff fall short and are not helping at all with the issues arising from the renovation.

It was my wife's 60th and not only did they give us a front bedroom as requested, but they upgraded us with a complimentary bottle of fizz. the reception was lovely and helpful. Thanks to all.

Ideally located to walk around the beautiful historic city. Window in room needed replaced so was drafty. Some of the front desk staff were not that helpful. If they did not know the answer about parking and tours, they should have offered to find out. Great fish and chips though!

This was a same day/late booking, as the original accommodation for this stay had been double booked, which I only found out 20 mins before leaving home. I was happy to book the hotel as I had previously visited to attend an afternoon "Perfume Experience", so I did have an idea of what to expect. For this visit I was attending the "Perfume Experience" as part of a very special friend\'s 50th birthday present which als included overnight stay. Having had the stress & diappointment of dealing the alternative accommodation\'s double booking, I can honestly say that we were both more than happy to have stayed with you. From the moment we arrived, the staff were extremely welcoming and couldn\'t have done more for us, weren’t able to check in as we were too ealy, however we were able to leave our overnight bags at reception and after explaining the stress of the accommodation fiasco, we were given a voucher for a free bottle of prosecco to help the birthday celebrations. When we did actually check in, we were informed our bags had already been put in our room. The room as well as the rest of the hotel were extremely clean and provide us with all that we needed for our stay. The complimentary teas, hot chocolate, milk and biscuits were greatly appreciated. Although, I had booked on a "room only" basis we paid for breakfast, which we took full advantage of - there was a good choice of cereals, fruit, drinks, bread, pastries and of course cooked items, which were still hot at 9.45am

Doorman went over & beyond to assist us. As Seniors, we very much appreciated his service. Bartenders were friendly & professional. Gave us suggestions for dinner. When we arrived at the restaurant, they were closing. We asked & the young lady gave us another suggestion. Very good restaurant that should be added to Your Hotel suggestions. Beckford Canteen!! Fresh lamb, so delicious & tender, no need for a fork. Everyone gracious & accommodating. Fabulous experience.

Great reception and super helpful staff. They helped us get our luggage up to the room and very very communicative ahead of time about the lifts being temporarily out. Also gave us excellent advice for parking. Feels like we got an absolute steal staying here.

Arrived with friends who booked direct - we felt like 2nd class guests as we had booked through Expedia.Breakfast cost £19.95 pp although another guest was offered breakfast for £15 pp. £15 rate requested but refused. Our perceptions were compounded when our friends had vouchers for free drinks but were not offered to us. If you don’t book direct - you’re not valued. Aside from this it’s a very pleasant hotel in great location m.

It’s a beautiful hotel within walking distance to Roman Baths and Bath Abbey and lots of shopping and restaurants. We didn’t much care for the breakfast buffet and parking was a little tricky as they were working on the roads.

Beautiful hotel in perfect location for central Bath. We stayed in one of the new rooms which was fabulous. Everything was in the room that you might need including water in the fridge.

This was an excellent location to explore Bath. The hop on hop off bus had a stop near the hotel so I never had to use my car to get around. The staff members were all very nice and helpful. The car park was to the rear of the hotel and very convenient.

Enjoyed our stay. Really great location, with key attractions really close by, and in a fantastic walkable area. Hotel is also a beautiful building, inside and out. Not great for someone with mobility issues (we don’t, fortunately), though, as it wasn’t possible to get to our room without using multiple flights of stairs - so be careful if that’s an issue for you. Couldn’t open the window in our room either, which was a bummer, as it meant we needed to have the air con on at night. Not unusual in much of the world, but not necessary somewhere so cool - even when we were there in July. Finally, not that impressed with the staff or the breakfast. Won’t go into details, but staff seemed unable to solve basic billing issues. Breakfast also mediocre and expensive for what you got.

The Francis is beautifully located on Queen Square, within easy walking distance of Bath’s major tourist attractions. The room was clean and comfortable. Our evening meal in the restaurant was phenomenal. The restaurant is a hid gem. I can’t recommend it enough.

The hotel, rooms and hotel staff were GREAT. The restaurant staff left a lot to be desired. Every morning there was an issue - very poor service. We only dined at the restaurant for breakfast - that was enough/ Our lower overall rating of the hotel reflects the restaurant.

I would not recomend to reserve with breakfast, there are a lot of better options close by with better coffee and food. The days we went the expresso coffee machine was not working and they did not bring any other to make a good coffee in the morning. The options in the buffet are too basic and the service in the restaurant was not great. The check out time is not that flexible, they charge if you want late check out even if it is now that busy. Location is excellent!

We had a wonderful stay here at the Francis Hotel, all the staff were very friendly. Our room was gorgeous, we had lovely breakfastsand we cannot fault anything with our stay here. we will definitely be back.

There was construction happening so the restaurant was closed but we were offered a complimentary breakfast from the continental in the morning. A great selection and fresh breakfast each morning. The room was very comfortable. The WiFi was not the strongest connection. Great location as its central and nearby to many of the attractions and restaurants.

Great hotel in Bath. It has been recently refurbished (I believe in the last two years). Close to all the tourist attractions in downtown Bath. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were traveling with two small dogs and the staff provided a dog bed, bowls and a welcome kit for them.
