It was a good stay! We had 2 rooms and both were clean and everything was working, tv, microwave, and the refrigerator! And the pool was very clean and had extra pools towels! The receptionists were really nice and fast with our check in!

Room was clean. Draw back property was close to the airport and could be noisy at times. Property was also close to the fairgrounds which is good if you’re going to the fair. Property was also an older property. Pool was not usable. And had a sign on the gate. I’m guessing it needed some repairs. All in all. If you’re looking for a cheaper hotel in decent shape. This is for you. Believe me I’ve seen worse.

Good for cheap hotel, good pillows, had upper floor room. Door opening to the broken rotten balcony wouldn’t close all of the way. There was a piece of plywood so you couldn’t fall out. Staff were nice. Stayed one night no a/c but had fans still hot in the room

Friendly staff. Extreme $150 deposit to prevent pets and smoking. That's great! They advertise a pool through photo and written description available from April to October. I try to swim every day, so that's why I chose their hotel. But their pool is broke and shut. So not available when advertised. Everything else was good.

Good parking, quick check in check out. Rooms were decent, some wear on furniture like the chair but nothing bad. Rooms seem partially renovated (being there’s new flooring but semi older furniture.) Bathroom was fine with decent water pressure too. Very spacious in the actual room though which was nice. Good for the price being. Only complaint i could see other people having but didn’t bother me, was you can hear planes landing and taking off overhead once in a while. But otherwise, I would definitely stay again!

Friendly staff but that was the only positive, room was dirty obviously in need of a deep clean. The floor was actually sticky and the bathroom needs updating. Noisy in the morning as they seemed to have shift workers staying as cars would start leaving around 6am and the guy in the room next door would start his car then sit in for 10 minutes before driving off. Also its a bit away from Monterey and Carmel so you do need a car.

The staff was friendly. Check-in was easy. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. TV, refrigerator, lights, etc. all worked. Note there is no A/C which was fine for my stay as it was nice and cool. Desk chair worked which was nice.

Pros: Check in was easy, room was ready. Found parking near our room. Room layout was good, had a refrigerator and microwave. No carpet! Neutral: Beds a little firm but not bad. Cons: Found dirty diaper in room. Mold all over the bathroom. No air conditioning, woke up with moisture all over windows. It’s an older facility that probably has deferred maintenance. Front desk unable to give discount or credit since I booked through a third party site.

The room was clean and provided a mini fridge, microwave, a hair dryer, mini soaps, towels, heater and a tv with a coffee and tea setup as well. All were working well. With clear instructions to prevent power outage. Decent neighborhood and no disturbances whatsoever. Will be coming here again for our next trip in the area! We didn’t utilize the pool. Love the quiet hours curfew too , but there were no loud noises during our entire stay anyways. Lots of desk area and a couch was in the room as well. Be mindful with the water , turns very hot very fast for both the shower and sink. Great place and area!

The base boards of the wall were dirty, the ac / heater was so old it didn’t turned on when I tried to use it. The restroom tiles were broken, had cracks. The thermostat to work the ac had no on or off or numbers. There were 2 fans that didn’t blow air and it was old n dirty. There were roaches. The floors needed to be mopped. The beds were terrible, it was so hard.

Basic but pleasant room, plenty of space for my buddy and I. Nice shower. Portable AC unit was noisy but functional. Coffee machine was very old and basic but worked fine. Check in procedure was via text message, which as an overseas resident was a little annoying as it costs a fortune to send texts to foreign numbers, but it worked. Didn't see any of the staff during my 3 day stay, but I'm ok with that. WiFi was slow but did the job. Nice seating area outside in the garden. Busy neighbourhood, surrounded by other hotels and motels, walking distance to center of town, and a short stagger from the nearest bar.

The two bedroom room we stayed in was spacious. It was a two queen, two tvs, one of the queens was in its own room. It was nice and tidy. The beds were comfy. There is no smoking allowed in the rooms which is a great rule! The negatives about the stay would be the laggy WiFi. We were watching a few movies and it kept going off. As well as the power going out twice but just for a partial side of the room. People in the upstairs unit being too loud as well at 6am. No respect for other people. The swimming pool was dirty. My daughter was excited to see the pool and disappointed when she saw the filth. Price for one night is a little high. This place would be more inviting if the rooms had art that had to do with Scotland, historical artifacts from Scotland. Just more of a Scotland feel since that’s what the name of the Hotel represents.

I enjoyed the split bedrooms. We struggled with the shower water knob. It was either too hot or cold. The bathroom vent was not working. No AC. Thankfully it wasn't too warm. There was only one regular coffee.

We stayed at Scottish Fairway Inn during Monterey Car Week. It was great to find any rooms available in Seaside at all! That being said, every property of course upcharges because of the demand, so we paid about $500 for 1 night in a double queen room. PROS: The property is in a great location, about 10 minutes drive to Cannery Row. The surrounding area seemed safe, and the property is in good condition. Slightly outdated but well kept. The beds were comfortable and most importantly, the room was CLEAN. Staff was friendly and we got checked in quickly. If I needed a budget motel in a pinch, I would stay here again. CONS: Given that it was Monterey Car Week, I understand the room rates and we were happy to pay for the convenience and overall stay. However, to pay $500 for a room without air conditioner or a heater, in my opinion, was not great. It was about 72 degrees in Monterey that day, which is pretty warm for that area. Our room had no AC (or heater). It did have a ceiling fan, and the property provided a box fan which was appreciated. The only other option was to sleep with the windows wide open, but since we were on the first floor and it’s a motel with external hallways, we opted out. It also is a pretty busy Main Street, so there is street noise. Between the hot room and the noise it wasn’t the most comfortable night of sleep. Overall, it was a good stay for 1 night for just needing a place to shower and sleep.

The room was clean. Bed was firm and springy and could feel the springs while trying to get comfortable. Airport takeoff and landing went right over the building, but you wouldn't know it while in the room. Coffee that was provided was atrocious.

The room was listed as a queen suite with a pull out. The pull out wouldn’t even comfortably sleep a child. I am 5’2” and wouldn’t fit on this “bed”. We needed two beds so I went to the office and they couldn’t speak English. They called someone and the person on the phone told me they would cancel our reservation so we could go somewhere else because they don’t have rooms that will accommodate 3 adults. They then still charged me for the room. So I ended up paying for a room we could not use. Don’t book this place if you need someone to speak English or if you need more than one bed. I should have know because when we were going to check in the guy leaving said to run. I booked the room on Expedia so I called them and they said they couldn’t cancel the room until the hotel gave them permission. Expedia emailed the hotel twice and the hotel didn’t respond back to tell them that they approved us cancelling the room, therefore I had to pay for a room we didn’t even use to the tune of $285. Do NOT book this room!!!

They called someone and the person on the phone told me they would cancel our reservation so we could go somewhere else because they don’t have rooms that will accommodate 3 adults. They then still charged me for the room. So I ended up paying for a room we could not use. Don’t book this place if you need someone to speak English or if you need more than one bed. I should have know because when we were going to check in the guy leaving said to run. I booked the room on Expedia so I called them and they said they couldn’t cancel the room until the hotel gave them permission. Expedia emailed the hotel twice and the hotel didn’t respond back to tell them that they approved us cancelling the room, therefore I had to pay for a room we didn’t even use to the tune of $285. Do NOT book this room!!!

Housekeeper was extremely difficult and unfriendly for no reason. The front desk crew were nice and accomodating. Beware! This hotel charges arando q50 dollar deposit on top of all the rates and fees. You will get it back only upon checkout and then it will take almost a week for it to show back up in your account. This deposit is Non Negotiable and you will not be allowed to check in unless you add that to your register. It was a bit extreme and there are many other hotels that do not charge any kind of deposit, so choose wisely. The room was okay but it was not very clean. The freezer in the fridge didnt work at all and there were a bunch of teens on some group excursion yelling and screaming and running from room to rooms with doors open all night. Curtains had to be clipped closed with my hair clips or everything is able to be seen from anywhere outside Window locks were broken and had to put a fan in the window to cool down very humid room (temps were in the 60s so no reason room should be so humid and warm). Place is ok, but deposit and angry housekeeper will likely have us choosing a better hotel in the future. Average review. 3 stars.

The gentleman at the front desk, Victor, was very polite and informative. The housekeepers were friendly and checked in on us to see if we needed anything. Our room had a king size bed along with a couch and an adjustable TV which was amazing. The room was clean and organized for the most part, the coffee maker was dirty unfortunately. The hotel is located near a Valero, Denny’s, CVS, and a Chinese restaurant. To get to the aquarium , Pacific Grove, Old Fisherman’s Warf, etc. it was approximately a 12-15min drive. Overall the neighborhood was quiet and felt safe, the hotel was comfortable and nice. Based on our positive experience, I do recommend staying at this hotel!

One of the best stays in Monterey I’ve had - checked in late and was greeted by one of the nicest, most courteous, professional young men, Micheal, there was a minor issue with my reservation and he helped me straighten it out for over 1/2 hour - and in the morning there was another wonderful manager working that was kind, courteous and very welcoming. I love this little Gem of a hotel- Monterey is kindof known for mean cold front desk staff’s and mediocre rooms but its a whole different story at the Scottish Fairays A rare and brilliant find! Thanks again for a great experience!

We stayed at Scottish Fairway Inn during Monterey Car Week. It was great to find any rooms available in Seaside at all! That being said, every property of course upcharges because of the demand, so we paid about $500 for 1 night in a double queen room. PROS: The property is in a great location, about 10 minutes drive to Cannery Row. The surrounding area seemed safe, and the property is in good condition. Slightly outdated but well kept. The beds were comfortable and most importantly, the room was CLEAN. Staff was friendly and we got checked in quickly. If I needed a budget motel in a pinch, I would stay here again. CONS: Given that it was Monterey Car Week, I understand the room rates and we were happy to pay for the convenience and overall stay. However, to pay $500 for a room without air conditioner or a heater, in my opinion, was not great. It was about 72 degrees in Monterey that day, which is pretty warm for that area. Our room had no AC (or heater). It did have a ceiling fan, and the property provided a box fan which was appreciated. The only other option was to sleep with the windows wide open, but since we were on the first floor and it’s a motel with external hallways, we opted out. It also is a pretty busy Main Street, so there is street noise. Between the hot room and the noise it wasn’t the most comfortable night of sleep. Overall, it was a good stay for 1 night for just needing a place to shower and sleep.

Very nice and easily accessible motor inn hotel. My room was fully renovated and updated with the standard amenities. The close proximity to /within the Monterey Peninsula and visitor interests was also a plus. Well worth the nightly rental fee. Would stay at this motel again!

My steak was just fine. I was a little disappointed in the breakfast offered. I feel like there should’ve been more fresh fruit. I was only there two nights, and only one day was their fruit put out and it was only apples. Also, there were no breakfast bars or granola bars, which I was a little surprised about.

It was “fine,” however I didn’t have more than about one or two minutes of warm-ish (not hot) water in the shower. Then it went cold. Also I find it very unwelcoming that the breakfast door is kept locked even during breakfast hours so guests have to go get the front desk’s attention to be let in.

When booking the place was shown as breakfast available. But the place did not have breakfast. I think expedia needs to do better as it was a very poor experience. Actually I would like to rate expedia experience poor for cheating customer through the wring messaging on their booking information.

Firstly when I booked, it shows complementary breakfast. At the property they said it's stopped. Hotel.com didn't show the update properly. Next, the room was not satisfying. There microwave oven makes too much of noise. The washbasin took too much time to drain water. Looks the room needs proper maintenance. I should check properly next time before booking. Lesson learned
