The Bath Priory - A Relais & Chateaux Hotel

Beautiful property and very attentive staff. The Garden Spa was a nice addition to my visit.

We had a lovely one night stay for our anniversary. The staff were so kind and friendly throughout. The room was to a very high standard. The spa was amazing. Both indoor and outdoor pools were slightly salted and really clean. Nice to go for a swim before breakfast! The chef was very accommodating with meal preferences for dinner and breakfast. The garden was really pretty and peaceful. We liked that quite a few of the fruit and veg in the restaurant were grown in the kitchen garden. The only thing was the ventilation fan from the hotel kitchen that could be heard quite loud in our bathroom but it wasn't on overnight. The bed was really comfortable so we had a good sleep. Thank you for a very special stay.

Was a lovely stay. Just expected more from the Spa facilities…

Stunning location & surroundings. Very Professional staff, Kitty was our first contact at reception. She made us feel very welcome. Really enjoyed the pool, sauna & steam room. Robe & slippers provided. A discreet staircase to the Spa & Pool area was very convenient. Very relaxing atmosphere. Gorgeous decor to start with, plenty of social areas to enjoy. Our room was perfect. Attention to detail, with everything you need. An entrance hall with hanging & luggage space. Main bedroom included ample-spaced wardrobe & ambient music from the radio. Amazing views from our room, overlooking the stunning gardens along with a mini balcony. Love the L'Occitane toiletries, shampoo etc. Although no body-wash was included. Clever touches that each room was named after a flower. We were in the rooom named "Heather" Lovely & quiet at night. However, we were woken in the early morning by a drone/noise or aircon/extractor fan which was slightly annoying. This was the only negative to our stay. The bed was very comfortable. Portable Aircon unit & fan provided in room also. Staff were very attentive. When checking-out we were welcomed to enjoy the garden or pool for the remainder of the day. You were treated like a Celebrity. Superb service all around. Option to have breakfast delivered to your room, was also a nice touch. Great breakfast menu. Also able to pre-order your breakfast, the night before. A morning newspaper was delivered to your room. Excellent.

My daughter and I had a fabulous two night stay there. We loved the gardens, the room was immaculate and the spa was perfect!

The service from the staff was fantastic. Particularly the lovely lady on reception. The spa was also nice, very clean and well maintained. The food, drinks etc were all very good! Our only issue was that the room was very hot with no air con and the windows are fixed so they can’t be opened very far. We were so hot we hardly slept.

A lovely relaxing hotel and the pool and spa were very nice the breakfast in the morning had a wise choice, the only fault was the service was a bit on the slow side.

Excellent service from very attentive staff. Room was very well presented and the pool was pleasant too. Unfortunately the steam room was not working during our visit.

The Priory was smaller than expected, and it felt quiet which was nice. We had a basic double room overlooking the courtyard. The room was warm, but had a fan. The traffic was noisey, but not too bad overnight with the windows shut. The spa area was nice, and not too busy. There is a sauna, and a steam room, but the steam room was out of order. The spa area could be accessed easily, and without going through reception. The breakfast was good, and the staff friendly. Its a fair walk to the town, but Taxi's are really quick to arrive if it's raining or you don't want to walk.

All the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. The spa area was very convenient and well maintained. We ate in the Pantry several times and the food was delicious. A variety of cocktails and mocktails were also on offer. The garden area is beautiful and has lots of available lawn games. Overall, the hotel provides a wonderfully relaxing experience.

Rooms were really dated, no air conditioning, floors were really creaky everytime you walked. Didn't have enough robes - I had to walk to the pool wearing a kids robe!! Didn't refill any toiletries, which meant I was wearing a soggy shower cap.

This was a stunning building, very expensively decorated some years ago, but beautifully kept. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive or helpful and the food was divine. A terrace over looking beautiful gardens too. Very peaceful for a reasonably central location. Highly recommend.

I took my Mum away for a couple of nights mid week and we both absolutely loved the hotel. We were both made to feel really welcome straight away. We enjoyed a lunch on the terrace, coffee and pastries in the drawing room & evening drinks in the hotel. We didn’t get to use the spa facilities or eat in the hotel restaurant (definitely will on our next visit). Our room was comfortable and clean and with a garden view at the back of the hotel, so lovely and quiet, and a really good nights sleep. We would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for looking after us, we will be back.

Nice stay. Kitty on reception was lovely, welcoming and very helpful and accommodating. She remembered it was my partners birthday the next morning and before she left for the night she must have passed on the message to the kitchen as when we ordered breakfast as room service there was a birthday card and a freshly baked banana chocolate chip muffin on our tray with a happy birthday chocolate. Lovely touch. Comfortable bed. Complementary upgrade appreciated. Nice breakfast. Room wasn’t super clean. Bath had streaky stains so didn’t want to have a bath. Some dust and debris on the carpets. Swimming pool was small but a nice temp. Was expecting more from a spa to be honest. Gardens lovely. Outdoor pool quite small and looked a little old. Couldn’t book a spa treatment due to staffing issues.

Nice luxury hotel. Enjoyable pool and living room. Room had this lovely old school luxury charm. Only one usable plug in the room though (all the others were this dated format that was unusable).

I loved the older building. Our room was very nice and it had a nice view over looking the garden in the back. We had scheduled 4 nights there but our visit was cut short a day because of a cancelled flight. So we never had a day to sit back and enjoy the lovely facility. We had scheduled long day trips for our 2nd, 3rd and last day there.

We were greeted by a friendly receptionist who was kind enough to upgrade us from a standard room for free!!! The room was absolutely beautiful with a great view of the gardens.

The hotel welcome here was outstanding. I stupidly arrived having booked the wrong date and the reception staff couldn’t do enough to help me sort it out. The rooms are so cosy and I really look forward to coming here again. The staff here understand hospitality. Outstanding and thank you for looking after us!

We had a wonderful time at the priory the staff were very attentive and responded very promptly to our requests (which were numerous as we have an 11pm the old baby). The quality of the room service food was exceptional. Would definitely stay again

Beautiful hotel and gardens. Lovely, well-appointed room. The service was however slow - we had to call 3 time to have drinks delivered to our room. And the breakfast service was slow and the breakfast front of house manager/waitress was off-hand. We waited 30 minutes for a cup of coffee.

An amazing hotel. The only minor complaint is that service was slow - but when the food arrived it was worth waiting for. Otherwise the staff were fantastic.

We went to have dinner at the fine dining side. It was incredibly long, to eat a appetiser and main it took 3 hours and we gave up on desert. Something wrong in the organisation .

Brilliant and friendly staff nothing was to much trouble, the staff are a credit to the hotel.

We had the best weekend away (without our kids). Perfect hotel for us - lots of character, attentive service, with luxury feel. Even with the bad weather we enjoyed walking around the beautiful grounds. Breakfast was delicious! Thank you for a lovely stay

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to be told that we had been upgraded to a Suite. We were then shown around the hotel (nice touch). The suite was big and amazing. The breakfast was first class, all served by smiling, friendly staff. We also used the Spa and would recommend it. The hotel is an easy 8 min drive into Bath central. Lovely gardens at the hotel to walk around. Plenty of free parking in the grounds as well. We would definitely stay again 👍

Lovely property about a 30 minute walk to the center of Bath. Dining room was closed for dinner during our stay but we ate lunch in the Pantry which was excellent, and the breakfasts were delicious too. Nice walk to the city center where there is lots to do and many fine and casual restaurants.

Wonderful quiet property in Bath. Good location for walking around and the gardens in the back are a wonderful area for exploring or picnics depending on the weather.!

Easy parking

Friendly polite and helpful staff made our stay special. The hotel is a pleasant 25 minute walk to the city centre. The small spa allowed for relaxing after walking around Bath for the day. Sunday Lunch was a lovely start to our two night break.

Really lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and nicely decorated. The spa is very good. Surrounding area is gorgeous, as is the hotel garden. Only a 15min walk into the centre of Bath via Victoria Park / Royal Cresent.

We first stayed her 30 years ago so was interested in seeing if it held up. It did. Rooms are a bit hot but they provided fans. Dinner was outstanding. The best the 5 days we were in Bath. Breakfast was not quite up to par but the staff was excellent in all ways.
