Parking is expensive-41$ per day. The fridge in our room was right next to the door and only opened half way. The pool was really chlorinated so you could not really swim and open your eyes. Not enough lounge chairs.

Hotel is in an old building but it well kept. Staff on hand 24 hours a day to assist with anything you need and they respond within minutes. Parking garage is extra but really convenient. Great location for just about everything. The only downside for our visit was a huge tour bus/trailer was parked in the very tight "parking lot" and they yelled at hotel guests as though we were the ones in their way. Otherwise we recommend this hotel.

The room connected to the courtyard to the pool which was great since we didn’t have to walk in our wet swimsuits inside the AC. The proximity to the visitor center was also great.

Property is easy to get to and located in a great, walkable area. Unfortunately, the hotel is expensive AND parking is a separate fee ($40 day!); breakfast bar was sub-par and there is no bar/lounge onsite if that's your thing. Pretty basic hotel for the price. It was clean though.

The parking lot does not belongs to the property so you have to pay for it daily. Also pet charge is also 75 dollars daily with a max of 250. Otherwise the hotel is nice well care and clean.

Pool was great, service pretty good too. Dogs are allowed though and next door neighbor's barking after midnight was really disturbing...parents were not home!! Rooms do need some updating. Strange centipede-looking bugs (×2) on the bathroom floor.

Hotel is in good walkable location near King street and we enjoyed Charleston very much! The hotel itself looks and smells like carpets should be updated a while ago. There was a stale smell in our room and no refrigerator to keep our drinks cold. Also breakfast, in comparison to other hotels, wasn’t great. Getting in and out from the hotel garage was confusing if you are handicapped, we have received three different informations and still got stuck at the gate. As a long time member of this hotel chain, this one was the worse.

I think this place is overpriced for what you get. Our room was ok, the bed clean but carpet very old and stained. Bathroom grout quite gross, stained wall paper . I’ll probably look elsewhere next time

Our room smells like Mold and musty. We tried to be transferred to a different room but was told no availability and front desk lady is not friendly at all. We stayed 3 nights but they were not able to even accommodate us to transfer to a different room the next day. My BF is highly allergic to mold and he had hard time breathing and we discussed that with them but they didn't seem to care.

The hotel was nice, and the bed was comfortable! The only complaints about the room, there was no refrigerator, and the shower was a little small! Other than that, it was great! The continental breakfast was good, the eggs on the first day we were there were not good at all, by the 3rd day, they got a little better, but not as good as they should be! Overall, I would stay there again, if they have refrigerators in the rooms!

Love the location. Friendly staff. Bed was comfortable. Only problem is that the HVAC system needed maintenance as it would not warm the room (61 degrees) when we first arrived. The maintenance man was prompt and in a few minutes fixed the problem. However, it seems the system is old as it took much longer than usual for the system to reach minor setting changes. Yet, we'll be back.

The hotel was a rather typical Hampton Inn but the location is superb if your intention is to be near King Street, the transit center, restaurants, sights, etc. Breakfast was good and there were plenty of items to choose from. The front desk personnel as well as the travel desk person(s) were all top notch. Where it fell down a little was in several areas. First, the hotel is a bit shopworn and in need of some sprucing up: carpeting, elevators, paint. Next the bed was okay but not great. Next, the HVAC in our room was of an older model and had to be switched to heat by Hampton staff. This is after a night of cooler room temperatures. And finally, there was no refrigerator in our room which was somewhat out of the ordinary for Hampton. This was an inconvenience but we managed because there was an ice maker just down the hall and we brought our own cooler. Still...

We stayed here one night while passing through Charleston. Location was perfect for exploring the city, walkable to restaurants, shops, and waterfront area. Family enjoyed the included breakfast. Air conditioning in room was not functioning properly, huge difference in temperature between hallways and room. No matter what we set the thermostat, it wouldn’t cool. Made for a miserable night’s sleep. Be aware this is a pet friendly hotel. I think because the room was so warm it made the dog smell in our room worse, we even considered going to a local store for air freshener. Overall OK spot for one night, couldn’t have stayed any more though.

Had an issue with a/c unit leaking from cieling onto the rug. We mentioned this every day. Everyday they send a tech guy to vacuum out tge exhaust tube as a temporary fix but it kept leaking. Then tech decides to turn off the a/c as a fix. Couldnt sleep the 2nd to final night and decided ti check out early rather than spens another night in a room with a faulty a/c unit

Excellent location. Staff were beyond welcoming! Lovely to be greeted with cool water, mocktails and snacks on a super hot afternoon. Breakfast was plentiful with plant-based options. First morning there our room was not cleaned. Somehow it was missed. That was our only complaint. Jacqueline was super helpful with touristy ideas. Lovely to chat with. Kudos to the entire team and management.

The staff were wonderful, the hotel is a gem in the historic district, rooms and amenities comparable to Inns costing hundreds more per night, great coffees all day, excellent concierge, parking with handicapped sticker is free ; I came solo last week and enjoyed it so much booked 2 more nights en rte home to Asheville NC.

Took my teen girls to Charleston for a few day getaway. Hotel was a great location, perfect for walking to shopping, dining and many historic sites. And right in the free trolley path, so easy to get around town. Hotel was clean and well appointed, we enjoyed free breakfast and the pool & outdoor seating area. The staff was amazingly helpful and friendly! Note- parking in Charleston is difficult but there is a garage adjacent to hotel for $41/night, even after checking out at 11am we left car all day while we saw sights.

The cleaning people were very considerate. The front desk people were very disappointing. I tried to call the front desk multiple times on Saturday evening and it was always busy like the receiver was taken off the hook. Very rude when I tried to ask for a later checkout Sunday morning. Shower curtain ripped, and there were small holes in the ceiling.

Hotel was right in the middle of the King Street entertainment district. Easily walkable to other areas of Charleston. Hotel was clean and comfortable. The pool area was a nice quiet area to just relax for a little bit before we went out for dinner.

It was PERFECT for a 3-night husband-wife getaway. Visitor center and buses were directly across the street. A great music venue is about 40 yards away. King Street is only about 100 yards away. Restaurants abound. Great lobby area. Breakfast more than adequate. It couldn’t have been any better.

Amazing stay! We came to Charleston for a concert that was being shown right next door at the Charleston Music Hall so the convenience was obviously the best feature for us! The accommodations were wonderful and the staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make you feel very welcome. We stay here again...thanks!
