Stayed 3 nights! It’s an older hotel but they have maintained it really well and has the aesthetic that is older southern class! Maybe short staffed? Valet was a bit of a struggle just because they were swamped. Hotel pool was very clean. Not much seating and people come and put stuff down to save seats then don’t use them which is frustrating if the pool is something you’re wanting to enjoy. All that to say we would definitely stay again! Staff was super friendly

Beautiful older hotel impeccably maintained. Housekeeping does a great job and includes turndown service. Nice rooftop bar is popular with both tourists & locals so gets a bit crowded. Nice valet staff, but the valet stopping area gets conjested & it takes a while for them to move the cars and even longer for them to retrieve your car. We had a lovely stay and intend to return!

Excellent location just across from the city market, a short walk to the carriage tours and surrounded by numerous restaurants. You can easily walk around old Charleston from here including along the waterfront. Staff is fantastic; very accommodating and extremely friendly. Hotel itself is beautiful and the rooftop pool/bar/restaurant has great views of the city and the waterfront.

The property was very nice. The one thing I didn't care for was the vallet parking. They only had 2-3 parking spots available. If you wanted to drop off your car sometimes you would have to circle around many times which was tough with traffic.We would have to wait for a spot to open.

We loved this hotel. It was beautiful, having a very old world feel. There was a pretty big disappointment for me, as the pool closed due to chemical problems. This was my primary reason for choosing this hotel. This was an anniversary trip without kids and the hope of enjoying swimming without kids being all over me was would have been amazing. I had hoped to enjoy swimming and cocktails on the rooftop. There is little shade up there and a pool is very needed to get that experience. I would have appreciated a back up alternative, as I was informed there are day passes available at other pools but at 2:00 on the day we tried to go to the pool, it was too late. We had allocated 2 afternoons to pool time. The hotel did provide $100 per day credit but when you are really expecting a book in a place as hot as Charleston for the poolside experience, this was pretty disappointing.

Great hotel in a perfect location to explore downtown area and especially Market and King streets. Walking distance to many great restaurants. Rooms are plush and clean. Staff putts out coffee and cookies on each floor. Very nice touches!

The Market Pavilion Hotel is in a prime location in downtown Charleston. The hotel is clean and updated, with a nice size room, and large bathroom with tub and separate shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The complimentary morning coffee, danish, and fruit on each floor, as well as afternoon cookies is a nice perk. They also offer daily housekeeping and turn down services. It was quiet and peaceful, even with our room being located near the elevator. I would recommend this hotel!

We had a lovely room on the third floor. The room was clean with comfortable beds. My favorite part of the hotel was the rooftop pool. Quiet, relaxing, and delicious lunch. Classy hotel. Convenient to all the great shops and restaurants.

They barely cleaned the room- left garbage and gross stuff was always on a floor- a contact and a ball of hair.. shower fixtures were all tarnished. Staff at desk a pool were very nice though. Also great location!

Conveniently located downtown. We walked everywhere. The food in Grill 225 was amazing! Jimmy is a great server with a fun personality. Our room was immaculate. We had a nice balcony. Can't go wrong with free pastries and coffee in the morning, cookies in the afternoon and little biscuits with turn down service. Love the noon check out time. It was a great experience.

The day of check in (scheduled as 4pm) a member of the front desk staff called me at 1:30pm and asked if I was still coming to stay at the hotel. It was very odd. I have never had a hotel call before check in time and ask if I was still planning to come. It was very off-putting. Also, there was a constant smell of weed in our hallway. The cleaning staff was very polite and friendly and did a great job.

The hotel is beautiful. Such character and charm! The bed was so comfy. The room was quiet with such dark window coverings for night that we slept like babies (and we usually cant in a hotel). Complimentary Coffee and fruit/pastries in the morning was a yummy start to the day. The rooftop pool was the perfect break during hot sightseeing days! All of the staff was so friendly (shout out to Devin and the other bartender). Everything is very walkable from the hotel. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely perfect location. Easy to walk to historic district, French quarter, popular restaurants and shopping. Charleston market right next door. Loved our double balcony luxury room. A little noisy as they opened to the market side. Room was a little rough looking for being recently renovated. Great shower/bath. Wished the balconies were large enough for chairs but they allowed for lots of fresh air and views. Rooftop bar/pool provided stunning city and sunset views. Staff were awesome and really took time to ensure you had all you needed. Very thoughtful. Enjoyed the coffee and daily fresh pastries on each floor at breakfast.

Location was great. The bed was comfortable. The rooftop bar was nice. The suite we were "upgraded" to had no windows, a fridge and kitchenette area but no paper towels, cutlery or supplies of any kind. There was nothing provided in all the kitchen cupboards and drawers. Very few outlets near the only other mirror for getting ready. The lighting wasn't great in the room.

The hotel was impeccably decorated for the holidays and it was beautiful! Everyone we encountered at the hotel was so polite and helpful. Our room was well appointed and had all the comforts you could think of, which included robes, slippers, umbrellas, bottled water, etc. The one drawback to the room was that it didn’t have a mini fridge. We loved having the pastries and coffee in the morning too! Bed and pillows were very comfortable!

The initial room they gave us had a window with an opaque white covering which TOTALLY prevented you being able to see out of the room. When we complained they gave us another room. We got to the 2nd room and they knocked on the door before we unpacked and said they needed to move us to a 3rd room because they were decorating on that floor. The 3rd room was fine.

I was really disappointed with my stay at this hotel. I paid close to $500/night and the only window in my room had a frosted film over it. It felt very dark and cave-like. It was also right next to the elevators so it was very noisy when the coffee was set out in the mornings. When I asked if I could switch rooms I was told that there was nothing available. They did absolutely nothing to try to make the situation better. A very expensive mistake to stay at this hotel.

The valet was a nightmare. One evening we waited 25 minutes for our vehicle before the manager came out to say there was a problem and our car wouldn’t start. My fiancé walked to the garage and found the valet trying to start the wrong car. With one press of our key fob, our car lit right up—by then we had missed our engagement dinner. Another day, after exploring Charleston, we returned to find housekeeping had left our room door wide open. The front desk associate was kind and the Director of Housekeeping personally apologized and checked in afterward, but when I later mentioned it to the on-site manager, Teresan, she denied it ever happened—which left a bad taste. The bar was equally disappointing. We sat at an empty bar for 10 minutes while the older bartender ignored us and focused on cutting fruit. When he finally looked up, he said he needed to get more fruit and never took our order. This was especially disheartening as we had just gotten engaged and wanted to celebrate with a bottle of Veuve. Thankfully, Elisha, another bartender, was fabulous and truly the highlight of the hotel. At checkout, after multiple failed attempts to reach the GM, Teresan waived our valet fees but also told me that Pavilion Market “is not a 5-star hotel.” At $500 a night, that statement summed up the gap between what they promise and what they deliver.

Everything about our visit to this hotel was amazing. From the minute, we stepped inside till the minute we left. The staff were friendly and courteous, they would go above and beyond to make sure your stay was perfect. The rooftop bar was fun and lively seats on the first come first serve basis. I would definitely stay here again. Location was perfect.

For $900.00 a night, I expected clean and well-maintained. Don't let the location and rooftop amenities trick you into paying this much for a mediocre stay. The service was also very unfriendly. The wallpaper was leaking brown glue down the walls and peeling in the bathroom. Plus you could tell the bathroom floor had not been swept or mopped. We had one interaction with a manager on duty, and that was pleasant but other employees not so much. The bartender was the worst!

From the staff to the amenities this was a great hotel. The staff was always friendly and smiling. The facilities were clean. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The Market Pavilion Hotel is in a prime location in downtown Charleston. The hotel is clean and updated, with a nice size room, and large bathroom with tub and separate shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The complimentary morning coffee, danish, and fruit on each floor, as well as afternoon cookies is a nice perk. They also offer daily housekeeping and turn down services. It was quiet and peaceful, even with our room being located near the elevator. I would recommend this hotel!

Excellent location just across from the city market, a short walk to the carriage tours and surrounded by numerous restaurants. You can easily walk around old Charleston from here including along the waterfront. Staff is fantastic; very accommodating and extremely friendly. Hotel itself is beautiful and the rooftop pool/bar/restaurant has great views of the city and the waterfront.

The location is absolutely amazing! You simply can't beat it if you're looking to dine and shop. I would highly recommend Market Pavillion to anyone who is planning to visit Charleston and have a truly authentic trip. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. The rooftop bar is a must and Grill 225 is an amazing restaurant!

Great hotel in a perfect location to explore downtown area and especially Market and King streets. Walking distance to many great restaurants. Rooms are plush and clean. Staff putts out coffee and cookies on each floor. Very nice touches!

Location was great. Charleston is very walkable. Receptionists and housekeeping were wonderful! The only thing was this hotel did not have a place for breakfast other than in your room and that was just coffee and a few pastries that were placed near the elevator. There also was no where to sit other than your room. No courtyard or lounge area. The rooftop was a bar and restaurant.

Great property! The grand decor was lovely and very clean. Each floor had coffee and muffins every morning, and fruit during the day. That was a very convenient touch. The roof top pool was excellent and food was great. The lobby was very cool and I wish I had had time to dine at the steak restaurant. Very convenient to lots of cool restaurants and coffee shops. I am already booking another trip and will stay there again.

Excellent staff, service location and facility. You need to have breakfast available more than just room service. You could hold dinner set up ( table clothes, etc) in the morning and do a light buffet or menu. All breakfast places are too far away.

This was a very relaxing weekend! From the ease of check-in to the amazing drinks at the bar (thanks, Aaron) to the outstanding housekeeping, Market Pavilion was even better than advertised! Location is convenient to everything, and the service is definitely 5 Star!! This hotel has become our go to spot for making sure our weekend getaways to Charleston are super relaxing.

Conveniently located downtown. We walked everywhere. The food in Grill 225 was amazing! Jimmy is a great server with a fun personality. Our room was immaculate. We had a nice balcony. Can't go wrong with free pastries and coffee in the morning, cookies in the afternoon and little biscuits with turn down service. Love the noon check out time. It was a great experience.

My wife and I really enjoyed our recent stay at the Market Pavilion Hotel in downtown Charleston, SC. This is an older, historic hotel in a great location within a short walking distance to lots of good restaurants, watering holes, retail stores, the large covered market whose vendors sell a wide variety of products, and several interesting places to visit. The hotel itself is clean, classic and well-maintained. Our room was beautiful! The only "downsides" associated with our stay was the rooftop bar closed at 10:00 pm the night we were there negating our plans to have a nightcap after we had gone out for a late dinner, and the main restaurant on the first floor adjacent to the lobby that was classy/traditional and looked like it came out of "Southern Living" magazine did not serve breakfast or lunch-only dinner. Even the very nice and long main bar on the first floor accessible as you walk through the main entrance was closed when we returned from dinner around 10:15 pm. The staff was excellent and they have valet parking! I would definitely stay there again!

We especially enjoyed the large room, comfortable bed & pillows and amenities in room as well as coffee & treats available. The rooftop pool area was nice but we were unable to secure a lounge because either they were all taken or people left towels on them. It would be nice if they offered mocktails

The rooftop pool and bar provided a breezy, cool respite after the days activities. The hotel is perfectly located in the French Quarter with fabulous restaurants and shopping options.
