Harbourview Inn

We had a great stay. The hotel was calm and quiet, and the service was wonderful. We enjoyed breakfast every morning in our room, and the "happy hour" and milk and cookies were an added bonus. The location was amazing for walking around the historic district and the French quarter. The only two negatives were the poor internet connection and the lack of a fitness center in the hotel.

Our stay was amazing! We went for a girls trip and our room had plenty of room for the 4 of us to stay together. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. Special touches like wine/cheese, milk/cookies, bikes available, and included room service breakfast delivered to your room really makes this property stand out

Great location with harbor views and within walking distance around the historic downtown district of Charleston. Although a little pricey, complimentary breakfast was served daily and brought to our room or the rooftop terrace-whichever our preference. It was not the typical continental breakfast, but a high quality assortment of our choice. We also received a bottle of wine on ice each day of our stay. At 5:00, there was live music and charcuterie foods and wine available-and lastly, cookies at 9:00 pm offered to guests. The hotel staff were all friendly and very attentive. Valet was always quick and helpful. We never even had to open doors when entering or leaving the building. The accommodations were awesome. The atrium had coffee, tea and other drink choices 24/7. The rooftop was wonderful. The cleanliness and condition of the Inn was outstanding. Every morning when we left for a few hours, our room was always cleaned and new towels and bed linens were replaced. We never even had to ask. We really enjoyed our stay. My only negative remark would be that I would have liked for there to be a full restaurant and bar.

We booked two rooms. Excellent hotel and the amenities were great. They had free chilled water bottles that was so great because you could grab them on way out in the morning and when coming back, free breakfast delivered to your room, or their rooftop terrace or hotel indoor seating area, coolers of tea, infused water and lemonade and bowls of fruit in hall that you could help yourself to at any time, umbrellas and bikes to borrow, complimentary wine, fruit and cheese reception every day from 5-6 and complimentary cookies and milk from 9-10. These things made our hotel stay one of the best we have ever had as a family of 7. Only negative was there was a seating area outside our doors and people would rudely sit there and conduct business while eating their breakfast and one day were woken at six AM by this.

Great location, very clean and accommodating staff. No fitness room on location but they provide options for an offsite gym nearby or a sister hotels fitness room nearby. We stayed in the historic wing with high ceilings and in 2nd floor which we loved. Highly recommend

Beautifully kept inn in beautiful area. Parking is bad.

We chose this location because we appreciate boutique hotels in walkable areas. We liked that breakfast and wine hour were included. Our king room was fairly typical. The noise level due to proximity to elevators and the noisy ventilation system was very distracting at all hours of day and night. We used the white noise machine, which helped a bit. Lobby was comfortable and the wine hour was very welcoming. it would have been nice to offer beer or soft drinks for those who don't like wine. The rooftop terrace was a nice option for breakfast and evenings, however the tables there were wobbly and the cleanliness throughout the area was an issue as well. A hotel with these prices needs to do a better job reflecting a consistent standard.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. My bed was extremely uncomfortable. Very soft on one side with a hump in the middle. There were bleach stains on a chair and on a blanket. The arms of one of the chairs was very badly soiled, and there was a smudge on my headboard. Water pressure was not good . We were also not aware of renovations that were going on on the first floor, and the elevator did not work for most of our stay. though I was offered another room, I declined as I was only staying 2 nights and it was a hassle to move. The valet and bus boys were extremely helpful and so nice though.

Everything from the decor and cleanliness to the accoutrements and the phenomenal staff, we will definitely be making this our place to stay in Charleston.

For the money spent on room with horrible view, was expecting better, not worth it. Found cookies candies under the dresser. Charleston itself is a great city, safe, clean, great food options. I'll be picking different hotel next time.

The staff was friendly and the property was very clean.

We really want to love this place but they make it difficult. The staff and service is great but their biggest issue is the condition and cleanliness of the bathrooms. We stayed here some years ago and were not pleased with this then but heard they did some updates so thought these issues would be addressed. Having mold all over the shower, disgusting silicone around a toilet and a beat up vanity just seems like easy things to fix. The fact that this is the second time we have received a room with these conditions shows that this must be acceptable by management. You would think it would be very easy for someone to check the rooms, have the staff use stronger products in the bathroom, replace silicone or even get some touch up paint to make things look presentable. We will no longer visit this hotel as long as management thinks that this is the way they should keep their bathrooms. Even though the bathroom needs some modernization, if it was clean it would be fine, it wouldn't make you feel gross when you go to use it. Very disappointing that this could be easily addressed but they obviously don't see an issue with leaving this for guests.

I was beyond surprised with the service at this property. The hotel is very nice with cute coastal aesthetics. The staff and hotel offerings regarding breakfast and happy hours which were included were beyond my expectations. Everyone is so kind and accommodating. The rooms are very clean and comfortable but wow what a pleasant weekend away.

Nice hotel, but unfortunately the “Harbor View” part of it has been obstructed by the new, huge, 5 star hotel being built across the street. Our room was fine, but so close to the elevator that we could hear it quite loudly every time it moved,which was frequently.

Everything was excellent except the following: HVAC very noisy. TV screen too small.

The hotels view and ambiance was amazing. The convenience to what we wanted to visit and see was perfect for us. Seems there were some hiccups with things promised, a constant vibration coming through the wall and a shower issue (which was resolved quick). Definitely worth the stay in my opinion

Outdated. Our room was near a service elevator that was so loud and impossible to tune out. Beds were like getting into a pit. Way past due for new beds.

Gorgeous, spacious corner room with a spectacular view of the harbor and fountain. Great service and lots of extra treats with breakfast in our room. An easy walk to restaurants, shopping and sights! .

Spectacular! An absolutely beautiful hotel with very large, luxurious rooms. Awesome complementary room service breakfast. And we loved the wine and cheese happy hour and the nighttime cookies and milk, both of which are also complementary! Our room had a waterfront view, which was also such a treat. It was an incredibly relaxing and luxurious place to stay!

Room was very clean. Staff was nice, although when we arrived the door was locked in the middle of the day. It took about 5 minutes for someone to come down which was unnerving. Only real complaint was the mattress was very old. Both sides of the bed had big holes in them resulting in a peak in the middle. Not ideal for sleeping with two people. As the sleep quality is the most important part of a hotel, I wouldn’t stay here again. Hopefully other mattresses are better.

One of the best hotels we stayed at in our 5.5 month 16000 mile tour of the USA. The wine and cheese plus a welcome bottle of wine just added the finishing touches to the lovely room overlooking the harbour. Only slight thing was the flacky WIFI. 80% of USA hotels we used suffer with this issue. With international travellers this is a key need due to roaming cost on mobiles.

We love the HarbourView Inn. Great location, beautiful rooms, kind staff and very nice wine reception and bedtime cookies and milk!

Customer service at every point was top notch. We loved wine and cheese hour AND milk and cookies at night. Location is awesome. Will definitely be back!! Highly recommend it!

Nice roof terrace. Service is very slow. Front desk staff not very friendly. The construction out front should be disclosed at time of booking. Much better places to stay in Charleston.

My daughter and I had the most wonderful trip to Charleston and fell in love with this hotel and city. We can’t wait to come back. Everything and everyone at this hotel was perfect!!

Wow! Look no further! This is absolutely the place to stay in downtown Charleston! Central location within walking distance of nearly every attraction, impeccable service from Tess who checks you in and pours your free wine with a smile every night, to the bellman Don who got our car valet parked each day and ran my water bottle upstairs to my room for me, to the lady who brings your free room service breakfast each morning, the service was outstanding! The free wine/ cheese reception nightly was awesome, and free margaritas to die for!! Also delicious free cookies, fruit infused water, super comfortable beds, and very clean and beautiful furnishings throughout the hotel really spoil you!! Totally worth every penny!!

The staff was impeccable. At the last minute, I realized that I had booked the wrong days and had no where to stay the first night. I called the hotel and was treated extremely well and they helped without overpricing for the last minute room. Even though I loved the property, I'd go back for the staff alone. Everyone was kind and helpful. They went above and beyond.

We had a wonderful stay. The customer service was amazing. The room and other areas were clean and nice. It is too bad that the view of the Charleston Harbor is now blocked by a huge and ugly hotel that is being built. The City of Charleston made a big zoning mistake with that one.

Wonderful stay at this lovely boutique hotel with comfortable gathering areas that we enjoyed. Very attentive staff providing excellent service and nice amenities, especially the wine hour each afternoon and breakfast in our room. It’s near a beautiful waterfront park providing harbor views and pleasant walks. We could easily walk to restaurants, shopping, and the historic neighborhood streets. With so many positives, it was easy to forget about the construction site across the street.

Nice hotel with great service and location! However, very few rooms have a view of the harbor, given the building that is going up in front of the hotel. Our room was very nice and spacious, but the shower wasn't as nice as might be expected. Amenities: 1. The hotel doesn't have a hotel, but does provide access to a large gym (very basic/no amenities, but gets the job done) about 0.5 mile away from the hotel. 2. There is a good amount of complimentary fare and drinks (breakfast, evening wine/cheese), but I would say everything tastes cheap and mass produced. For the price, I think they could upgrade the experience and offer less maybe. Free coffee/tea/water/wine is very nice though and convenient.

Wonderful hotel! Lovely room with many amenities- delicious breakfast with many options plus a cocktail hour each afternoon is included in your room price. Staff were helpful and friendly. We usually stay at a different hotel when we’re in Charleston but this will now be our go- to place.

The service at this lovely hotel is fantastic. Wine & cheese reception, cookies at night and a very delicious complimentary breakfast brought to your room! The rooms are very comfortable with good lighting and plenty of towels. This is our go to place in Charleston and the location cannot be beat.

What a beautiful property! The lobby and central sitting area of this hotel and our room could not have been decorated better. This truly felt like a boutique space versus a chain. The beds and linens felt luxurious and the service from every staff member we encountered was excellent. We enjoyed ordering our breakfast the night before and having it delivered to the room. My family enjoyed the quiches the most and there are options for cereals, yogurt, toast and muffins, fruit, and a big variety of beverages. I didn’t like the hard boiled eggs and they were the only egg option. They tasted like the ones you buy in a bag. Otherwise it was nice to have that as an easy meal before heading out to walk the town. We also enjoyed the free bottles of water in the lobby as well as lemonade, fruit infused water and bananas, apples and oranges. We timed arriving back at the hotel one of our two nights for the wine and cheese hour (5-6) and also the milk and cookies (9-10 pm). There are games in the main sitting area but we didn’t have time for them. Also know that there is valet parking for $40/night. We could have saved by parking in a nearby garage but the savings wasn’t enough to deal with that hassle. The hotel is perfectly located within easy walking distance of all of the attractions and restaurants and feet away from the water. I would highly recommend this hotel and would be excited to make a return trip.

The stay was incredible and the staff were great. The only thing that I did not like was the lack of variety in the room service breakfast items available but the breakfast was very very good.
