It was pleasant. Staff courteous and helpful. Check in was easy. They were accommodating to move us from the 2nd floor to the first floor for 2 of our party who had mobility issues climbing stairs due to no elevator. The breakfast was good. Surprised that they were no info literature available in the rooms for review. Overall we were happy and pleased to stay there.

The outside, hallways, etc. are a bit run down, but the room was updated, very clean, and the balcony was a nice plus. Also, the washer & dryer were a bonus!! Old, but functional.

Room was clean and spacious. The rooms are in a separate building from registration. I did not like that the door to the room building was just hanging open instead of locked. That is the only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5. Other than that it was a great stop on the pacific coast highway!

So dirty, unkept, just really bad on all accounts. Would not stay here again. Just no cares taken to take care of anything. Basic things like clean up hallways, vacuum. Repair the ice machine. Sad for the Comfort Inn brand. Often we find Comfort Inns across the US affordable basic and clean. This one is an absolute abomination for the Comfort Inn brand. Disgusting.

Basic and older hotel. The backdoor to our building did not lock and there was a spilling leading up the stairs that was not cleaned. This was our last hotel stay out of a week of traveling. This hotel has the most comfortable beds and the only hotel that the AC worked perfectly! We slept the best at this hotel. The free breakfast was the usually waffles, toast, cereal, etc. There was very limited space to eat so we took our food back to our room. The room was fine for one night. Nearby dining was limited. Check Yelp for recommendations!

The place is very nice, it has renovated rooms, they are comfortable and spacious, a coffee maker and a refrigerator, they leave you plenty of coffee for those of us who like coffee in the morning, they also give you breakfast, quite basic but at least they give you some, it is very close to the beach, and it has a small but complete gym with everything you need to start exercising in the morning.

We were looking forward to seeing the renovated motel. The Front desk clerk was pleasant. The room had plantation shutters and the mattress was comfortable. there was soap and a one time use shampoo/conditioner available. We were on the first floor and we had a small peek of the ocean which was nice. There is a gym with what looked like nice equipment,( we didnt use), hand towels and a water filling station ( which we used). The downside: The front door had a 2 inch gap on the bottom which we stuffed with a towel . There were coffee stains (?) on one side of the bottom sheet and possibly blood (?)splatter stains on the underside of the top coverlet. PLEASE throw these out, they should NOT be in use for guests. The microwave could be cleaner and the inside back had a burned plastic area. The walls are thin and the guests that checked in next door were loud. Turning on the air conditioning/heater muted the conversation so that we could sleep. We looked forward to having the breakfast, but, sadly, the eggs were tasteless and a funny texture, the potatoes looked grayish, and the very thin bacon slices were tasty but had a waxed paper texture. There were 3 tureens of gravy behind the eggs/bacon, and my husband hoped to put some on the biscuit, but the attendant said the gravy was not for today. We truly wanted to give a better review, but could not this time around.

Staff was great. Took care of me with a late check in. Room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Hotel is outdated which is the only complaint. Breakfast is basic waffle/cofee/toast style. Gym was better than most small hotels

This hotel was great very clean and spacious the only down side there’s no elevator. The beach was so close by very little people I can’t wait to return to this hotel in the future

Great value. Nice and clean with breakfast 😋 Don't forget to tip THE housekeeping lady. She is a sweetheart and working hard! Also, had a nice tall refrigerator instead of a little box. Little patio on the back with chairs too. Great stay. Thank you

The hotel is right off Rte 1. The rooms are upgraded and nicer than the outside. However, the stairs and corridors could use sweeping. There was trash lying around and spills that were not cleaned at all in the 3 nights we spent here. The breakfast comprises of bread, jam, yogurt, cereal, small egg patties and sausage patties. The problem however is that the owner will not refill anything unless one demands it. We arrived to breakfast on our first morning at 8:45 am. Breakfast is until 10am. The juice and milk was finished and not refilled. The white bread was finished and not refilled. We went in to ask for refills and the owner asked if we could manage with what was left. There was then an episode where an elderly lady (a guest at the hotel) spilled her juice. The owner came in and started yelling at her and telling her she needed to clean up the spill. We were left speechless at his outrageous behaviour.

The hotel is listed as a Best Western but I saw no indication it actually is a BW. Nothing on any signs at all. The place has lots of potential because it seems to have been updated but I don’t think they have any staff maintaining the property. The room was reasonably clean but the outside is sketchy. Overflowing trash, trash in the parking lot, weeds growing on steps and really dirty hallways. The ice machine appeared out of order with towels wadded up under it. The shower head had a leak and the new vinyl floor had popped up along a seam. I got a cup of coffee in the morning and it was super diluted. Honestly I wouldn’t eat anything there based on the level of cleanliness of the public spaces. Also one of my neighbors was smoking pot and I could smell it in my room. It really wouldn’t take much to make the place nice. A groundskeeper and more cleaning maybe.

Everything was great but first night we found a cockroach in our room. Bathtub was extremely slippery and need to have mats so it’s not slippery. Breakfast was great. Bed was super comfortable.

This hotel is old, needs lots of repairs and it is expensive for what they can offer. Main entrance door is making noise all night because the wind. Yellow ugly stains in the bathroom tub. Very cheap furniture. Dirty Carpets in the hallways. I do not recommend this place at all and I want my money back.

This motel is a great location for exploring the area. Not crowded at all - San Simeon is very different from other small beach towns. Just motels, a few restaurants and one liquor store. The registration was super quick and easy, staff was efficient. When we drove into parking lot, my “dirt alert” went up. People has thrown out cups, food, bags and old sodas, etc onto lot. Got out of car and entrance had spilled sodas, nasty towel by ice machine. Almost turned around to go somewhere else. But went to room and was SO surprised! It was spotless, bright and well furnished. The beds were very comfortable, TV worked without a glitch, small microwave and refrigerator ( although it was too cold - couldn’t really find right temp). Small little patio with 2 clean chairs. Bathroom clean and shower was fine with products present. Had a nice little breakfast room with an all right breakfast. All in all, I’d stay there again, but would certainly like it if they would clean up entryway and parking lot.

The Internet reception was terrible, but the property was very close to Hearst Castle! When I stayed the night, I was planning on doing many things if I had to do over again I would stay in Paso Robles because I felt that I was constantly driving there for the things that I wanted to do. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.

We liked the close access to the water. It made morning walks on the beach super simple. However, we were not able to get a good night’s sleep because of the pacing of someone in the room above. Plus, the bed was very high and made climbing into bed a real climb.

Nobody to check in, nobody at front desk. Waited for 2 hours and no one showed up. Room keys were taped to the front desk door. The keys don’t work. After a long day of driving for 10 hours, waiting to get into my room and nobody cares here.

I’m currently in a wheelchair so I called the front desk to ask for a room on the first floor because they don’t have elevators. The property manager Raj was extra rude and hung up on me. The walls are extremely thin, the ceiling was leaking so much water it even caved in the next morning. The breakfast was not restocked and it was 8:30am (breakfast is over at 10am). The floors throughout the whole building were so dirty and hair everywhere.

First - there was no one at registration during checkin. Keys were in an envelope, stuck to the door of the office - there were many keys. Someone could have taken the wrong key or stolen it. The hotel stairs were dirty with trash around. Bathtub didn’t work and there was no one to talk to to fix it. No one at breakfast, no one at checkout. Only staff I met was a cleaning lady.

Stayed for one night only. Everything was fine. Free breakfast has many choices. Free parking spots were plenty. The area felt safe and quiet. Convenient location for visiting the elephant seals view point.

We were very disappointed with the breakfast. There was only yogurt, apples, or carbs - no protein. There was a serving tray with a lid used for hot food, but it was only there for show. The hotel should also be embarrassed by its food portions. They cut a Costco muffin into at least 8ths and served the slivers on a tray. Needless to say, we will not be returning and will not recommend this hotel to any of our friends or colleagues.

This is the only hotel I have stayed in where you have to tell them you want your room cleaned. If you do not, then it doesn't get cleaned. The free hot breakfast was singularly inedible and disgusting.

The place was nice and spacious. However the bathtub was clogged up but was fixed when we brought it up. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was not good. They had expired milk out, when we broughr it up they put it back in the refrigerator.a lady tild us they told the the staff it was expired the day before, the tosster kept tripping ehrn using both toasters at the s time, the lady restocking the food grabbed the trash to put it out, did not wash her hands and restocked the bread with no gloves. No gloves were worn when handling the food.

Room was clean. Manager was responsive. Breakfast had potatoes, bacon, scrambled eggs, bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee. Not the freshest, but perfectly fine for a motel. Thank you!
