Very clean room in good repair, comfortable bed, friendly front desk staff, very good price. The lobby is really cool with lots of Lego models and the rooms are all retro themed with old fashion looking microwaves and refrigerators. There is a free and nice continental-style breakfast and an indoor pool and hot tub (though the hot tub was closed when we were there.)

Excellent stay. The hotel is newly remodeled and very clean with comfortable memory foam beds, smart tv, fridge, micro, hair dryer, usb ports, indoor pool, hot tub, close to beach, free parking, ev charger, nice owners. We told our friends who paid double for a hotel across the street. Thanks for the great stay!

Door heated pool, hot tub, games, literally steps from the beach, just cross the street. You can see and hear the beach. The owner, Joe, is amazing. Best hotel ever for a simple, relaxing, vacation. Wish we could stay longer! Dolphin and whale tours close by, restaurants a short walk, man. You cannot get here on Hwy 1 from San Francisco. You have to go around. As of 8.30.25, highway 1 is closed.

We had a great stay at Coast Riders Inn. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff was super friendly. They gave my daughter three toy cars and a chocolate cookie, which she loved! The rooms look newly renovated, clean, and comfortable. There’s free parking and Wi-Fi, plus they offer coffee, pastries, and fresh fruit in the morning. The indoor pool is a big plus too. It’s a calm, family-friendly place — we’d definitely stay here again!

The husband and wife owners were lovely and gracious. They had just installed a Tesla charger and let me try it for free as a test case. They gave us cookies and a little toy car when we arrived and had fresh free croissants and other types of bread, fruit, oatmeal and coffee in the morning. The stay was super stress free and easy. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the really poor water pressure in the shower. But I'm California there isn't a ton they can do about that.

A completely refurbished property, better than expected and the staff were amazing, friendly, and very helpful. Amenities included microwave, fridge with freezer and even a large screen Roku TV so we could stream our own subscribed channels! The complimentary breakfast was good and food could be taken to our room or dine in in the pool area. Plenty of tables and chairs and the area also had very nice plants. The heated indoor poor and jacuzzi were added benefits and there were several restaurants within short walking distance and a small mini-mart also. All in all can say enough about our very comfortable room and guest services. Much better than several other motels in the area where we had staying during prior visits.

The Coast Rider is conveniently located just to the southeast of the Hearst Castle off highway 1. With a straight view of San Simeon beach, it make a for an easy location to choose if you plan on sightseeing. The rooms themselves have bee recently renovated and included a smart tv, refrigerator and mini microwave. The bedding was update and comfortable. The only downside aesthetically was that the bathroom was not update and was a different color than the rest of the room. The fixtures were newer but the shower/tub stall had mold in the ceiling and there was not ventilation to air out the bathroom after a hot shower. Other than that, the Inn offers an indoor heated pool and light free breakfast for early risers.

Coast Riders Inn is the older property, but has been renovated and remodels few years ago with comfortable bed. The room was super clean, probably one of the best cleaned model rooms that I've stayed in my life. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back in the future.

Owners and staff always available and incredibly personable. Dining and pool area are very comfortable and well maintained. Rooms are newly renovated with a delightful retro theme. 4 stars for for cleanliness because the floors in the room turned our feet black with instantly.

Whilst staff were extremely polite and helpful, the room sadly was a little dirty and the bathtub required a further scrub before I was happy to give my son a bath. Breakfast was served in the swimming pool area which felt very strange; a large drop of condensation from the pool ceiling fell straight into my breakfast. I was disappointed to see that the hotel had no high-chair or booster seat, I guess they are not interested in catering to families.

Really good little basic hotel, I was impressed! They have fixed up an older hotel, so it's not brand new, but it was very clean and in good shape. Large comfortable bed and good sized room and bathroom area. Bed linens/blanket was warm, so I was fine even though it was a chilly night. The added touches impressed me. Retro style fridge and microwave that fit into the overall retro car theme. They give you locally made cookies at check-in, which is such a nice touch, and two little toy cars I can bring for my friends kid. Very polite workers at the front desk too. I was worried about noise as a motorcycle guy parked right in front of my room (the place seems like it attracts motorcyclists with the theme too), but he was very nice/respectful, and when I left at 7am he had already left - and literally didn't even wake me up, so no obnoxious engine revving or whatnot! I didn't hear any highway noise either in my room. Very convenient location for my Hearst Castle Day. I had dinner in Cambria, about 10 mins away, as it has more choices to eat, but San Simeon is a better location. One issue I did notice is that the bathroom tub had mildew, where water gets stuck above the tub - the property owners should just scrape out the old caulking/sealant and put new one, its an easy fix for a common problem. Otherwise the place was very clean, I'd happily stay there again.

Best sleep I’ve had away from home in a long time. Their beds were very comfy. They have put a lot of effort in updates to an older motel. New flooring, tvs, fridge, microwave and air conditioner/ heater. The indoor pool is needing a little paint but it’s clean and warm. A very pleasant stay.

It was nice and quiet place to stay.The first time we came in the room we were surprised to see cookies and little toy cars to welcome us. Everything in the room is clean especially the bedding and linens. They have smart Tv and cute fridge and microwave. Aircon is working which is good but I would like the room had a window that I could open to feel the sea breeze in the room. The people managing at the front desk are kind and friendly.

Comfortable, spacious room, beautiful location right off the beach. Close to Hearst Castle, elephant seal viewing, and Cambria shops/dining. Super nice folks who run the place, room and lobby had a lot of thoughtful little touches. Pastries and coffee for breakfast.

This was NOT an ocean view. The view is of the road and of a hotel across the street that has an ocean view. The blinds to look outside at the street were broken so the view was actual of the blinds only. The tv reception was poor so it would shut off for 10 mins and then come back on later. I spent a significant amount of money for the view. I was disappointed and felt a bit scammed.

Good hotel. Obviously a bit on the older side but they keep it updated nicely. The room was big and the bed was comfortable. Room and bathroom were clean. Plenty of outlets and USB ports for devices. Across the road from beach access.

This is the second time I've stayed. Not disappointed. Check in was quick and pleasant despite several guests checking in at same time. Gifts were a pleasant surprise. Room was inviting. I love the retro refrigerator and microwave. Two bottles of water available for coffee maker or personal use. You can open window. Overall quiet and comfortable.

The room was exactly as described, and was warm and welcoming. We loved the waters and cookies that were set out for us, and the temp was set for a cool night. The staff were AMAZING- good people to talk with. When we're back in San Simeon, we will definitely book our stay with Coast Rider's Inn.

They were awesome great service all around!!! Jane and Ron and another gentleman!!! Free cookies once we arrived. Room was real nice and clean. Also a side note they went over and above helping us our Car key fob went dead no way to move it from across the street at Ocean view we went to the local stores no batteries. Took a chance and asked Jane if she knows any stores in Cambria that would have batteries so I can take a Uber to Cambria she said don't worry about it I have batteries wow so cool didn't even charge us !!! What a life saver👍 this hotel is my go too hotel going forward.

My stay was great. Clean room, friendly staff, quick response with concern. The bed frame was making loud popping noises when I moved on the bed. I reported it, they fixed the problem right away. I slept great with no noise from the bed.

As someone who travels extensively and spends well over a hundred nights in a hotel annually, I find the Coast Riders Inn to be among the best places I have stayed in. The rooms are immaculate, the staff is very friendly and the owner goes out of his way to ensure that the guest are treated well and taken care of. This is a very well maintained and clean hotel. I have now stayed there a few times and when I come to San Simeon in the future, I know exactly where I will be staying.

Perfectly accommodating, especially since I had a late arrival and early departure. Had everything I needed and very comfortable. I was there for work so I didn’t get to enjoy it, but it’s directly across the street from the ocean, so close I could hear the waves crashing. If I’m in the area again, I would definitely stay!

This is a great place. The location was perfect for visiting Hearst Castle and the Elephant Seals. Good restaurants were within walking distance.

Property is very nice The rooms are clean and the staff is excellent. Hotel is across the street from beach access. Hearst Castle is within 5 minutes having a great time. Really appreciate the hotel. There are several restaurants close by also.

We had a great stay at Coast Riders Inn. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff was super friendly. They gave my daughter three toy cars and a chocolate cookie, which she loved! The rooms look newly renovated, clean, and comfortable. There’s free parking and Wi-Fi, plus they offer coffee, pastries, and fresh fruit in the morning. The indoor pool is a big plus too. It’s a calm, family-friendly place — we’d definitely stay here again!

The room we stayed in was very nice and clean, freshly updated. On the other hand breakfast or should I say a snack was extremely limited to a few items. For instance there was instant oatmeal but the water offered was not hot. Had some fresh fruit, bananas, and apples, had a container of croissants and there was also some small packaged pastries, and fresh coffee. We stayed here a few years ago and not much has changed. Room was great just don’t count on eating much at the free breakfast.

The staff was AMAZING! So friendly and welcoming and gave us great restaurant recommendations and gave us cookies when we checked in and everyday there was a free continental breakfast with pastries, instant oatmeal, toast and jam and some surprisingly tasty brewed coffee...the only reason I am not giving them a 5 is because my son was really looking forward to keeping up his workout routine while on vacation by swimming laps and sadly the pool was very green and he did not feel comfortable using it.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and greeted us with some cookies and small gifts which were very much appreciated. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable which gave us an excellent nights sleep after a long drive. Breakfast was continental and included some delicious croissants
