Courtyard Florence South Carolina

Did not receive the room I booked. Pool was closed.

Interior construction with flooring unsafe and easy to trip. Indoor Pool was not heated. Rooms were just okay. Not exciting

easy to find. Under construction made parking difficult

Staff is always a plus. Staff was very courteous and kind. Gym, pool, bistro, lobby, everything, everywhere was spotless. The beds were comfortable, amazing! Glad we chose our stay here...

Property was under renovation, this was not in the orbits description. No breakfast offered due to construction. No coffee, tea or beverages offered at night or in morning. Very disappointed in level of service. Staff was nice, but couldn’t overcome property shortcomings. Amount paid was not worth value provided. Marriott corp needs to get this fixed.

Hot tub has been filled in with cement and pool is not functioning.

No free breakfast, smokers congregating at front door, empty pool, dirty carpets throughout, musty oder in hallways and room, no one at front desk 4 different times

Hotel was located very close to our entertainment venue. Appeared clean and well maintained for the most part. My issue was with our room. Upon entering, it had a musty smell. Once we turned the a/c down, we lesrned that it was draining into the room so 1/3 of the carpet was wet!

Not a clean hotel

Unfortunately this hotel was a disappointment. Not only did the hotel staff not ask for ID, they said “I don’t care” when I tired to give them my ID at check-in. The rooms were disgusting - moldy carpet, cracked and holes in sink and tub, mosquitos, smelled awful. Standards even for pet friendly should be high especially for a Marriott. The staff perked up when they saw my dog, which gave me some peace of mind. The parking lot was well lit but there were some questionable loitering and activity going on in the parking lot late at night.

This property was nicely kept my room was exceptionally clean and neat what one would expect from Marriott.

Overall stay was ok but the bathroom/shower area smelt like mold.

Bathroom was dirty. Walking inside the hotel floors are dirty. Service wasn’t the best.

Very clean, updated, excellent staff.

The staff seemed like they would rather be anywhere other than there. We asked to switch rooms because it was still dirty - the sink and toilet weren’t cleaned and there was garbage around the room. Our second room was only a bit better

Trash can underneath tv had trash in it. Soap holders in bathtub where not cleaned correctly, there where 2 soap holders. Bottom one was filthy and full of mold and rust. Bathroom floor had dirt with foot prints. Complimentary coffee was ready by 0730. Most people traveling wake up early to get on the road to avoid traffic. My opinion 0530 to 0600 would be a better time.

The hotel looked disheveled. Elevators were messy. Room only had 2 towels and one was damp. The room needs a deep clean.

This hotel is one of very few in Florence which has a balcony. This is the reason we chose to stay at Courtyard this time. It just happened to snow the first night there so it was kind of awesome standing on the balcony enjoying the snow. The room was nice although, not quite as sound proof as one might expect as we heard the people beside our room talking.

There was no hot water and terrible water pressure. Our smoke detector was hanging out of the wall. And elevator was dirty and our blankets looked dingy. And no breakfast.

The room was next to the elevator engine room , could not sleep loud noise and vibration coming from there it was so loud all night , the balcony is full cigarettes buds

This is a great hotel. The rooms are clean and up to date. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the food was good. I liked the way the room was arranged with sofa and side table with lots of room. We will stay here again ❤️

I paid for a balcony but was place in a first floor room. Moved to third floor balcony and it smelled like cigarette smoke. The smell was so strong I could hardly sleep. I couldnt wait to check out!

Property is old. Air conditioner by window was noisy - too loud to sleep when it was on so had to turn it off. This was my least favorite Marriott hotel that we stayed at on this vacation.

The water pressure was not up to Marriott standards. I live in Florence and got the room because the plumbing at my residence was being worked. Imagine my surprise when there was very little water pressure to take a shower.

Outside of building is updated and lobby, but nothing else. Rooms need major updates. Hallway smelled like cleaner and staff was not very friendly. Spend the extra $20 a night to stay at the hilton across the wekk.

Beds were comfortable. Coffee was good.

Wish they had continental breakfast but really liked the balcony and the bed was comfortable! Bathroom tub could be updated. Overall great, convenient place to stay.

You overbooked and had no room available for me. Moved me to nearby Hilton.

I'm sure who the gentlemen was that checked us in yesterday but he was very polite, patient, friendly, his customer service was out of this world I'm gonna find his name and call his manager

The staff were wonderful. The facilities were not so great. I had to be moved to another room because of the overwhelming mildew smell in the bathroom. I did not have towels or toilet paper in the first room. The phone did not work and the clock was not on. The room was not ready for anyone to stay in. Also, the Bistro was out of lots of food items that were on the menu, and they were understaffed. Thank you for Martin and the young lady who took over the Bistro and worked miracles with a short staff.

A lot of issues and no response from management

Single worst hotel experience of my life. Arrived tired at apx. 9 after a long drive, told hotel was "overbooked" and my reservation was gone - no room for me. Bonus - the hotel would not reimburse me or offer any compensation whatsoever. I made reservation and prepaid several weeks prior - I asked how it was that my property - the room I already paid for - was taken and given to someone else. I was told there were "priorities" and third-party reservations werent a priority. I waited and watched as three people arriving after me were greeted and given rooms. I asked the clerk and she told me maybe they were Marriott points members. I told her I was a member but made my booking through Orbitz since it was cheaper and easier. Inexplicably she said she had a room that needed to be cleaned but I could have it. I looked - large puddle on the floor that had soaked the carpet, the cabinet door was torn off the microwave, none of the floor/desk lamps worked, someone had already taken a shower in the room and the beds were dirty. Given I am 65 years old and was tired, I agreed. She then said I would need to pay for this wreck of a "room". I left. 4 more hours of driving tired. Note- during this ordeal several guests came to complain about dirty rooms. This place gives Courtyard a bad name. Suggest management reshuffle. Note also - clerk was very nice and courteous, just passing along what the manager told her over the phone.

Quick service

Do not book here if you plan on arriving after 4pm check in!!! Booked a one night stay, I called them around 2pm to let them know we would be arriving later in the evening… called again around 10pm to make sure our room was ready and they tell me they overbooked and gave our room away. It somehow never occurred to them to call the guests they couldn’t accommodate to let them know to find other accommodations… Don’t even waste your time here! You’re better off at the Residence Inn down the street :)

My stay…didn’t happen because they overbooked and gave my room to someone else. I called 6 hours before arrival to say it wouldn’t let me virtually check in. They said the room would still be there. When I arrived with 3 kids at 11:15 pm…there was no room. Then I was told they had a room but the lock needed fixing. Waited an hour to the. He told it only had one bed for five of us! This place was a disaster!!!!

The clerk at check In didn’t have a clue. We asked for extra towels never got them. The young girl working the night shift was amazing and made our stay great.

Some staff were very helpful. Check-in was quick. Clean, pleasant hotel.

Great place to stay the night while traveling through. The price was reasonable and the rooms were comfortable and quiet. Added benefit is having a Chilis restaurant in walking distance.

Fantastic. We stayed just for one night but the room was clean, beds were comfortable and the staff was amazing. Great walking distance to a few restaurants. No free breakfast however very reasonable prices.

The property was fine. Clean and staff was friendly and helpful. No quick fixes for the problems. The property is dated and the rooms have a slight musty odor to them. Plenty of places very close for food light shopping and gas. Also a minute off I95 so good enough for a night's rest on a long drive.

The hotel was great. The whole area around it is congested and very busy.

Very clean although the tub is old and has seen better days, modern room furnishings, new carpet; breakfast was not available when staff did not show up for work, yikes, but will stay here again because of the Marriott high grade for cleanliness.

The overall appearance of the property is clean and new. However, the room furnishings are heavily worn and need updating. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room, that was a plus but there was only decaf coffee in the room and no complimentary coffee in the lobby only a Starbucks that you had to pay for. I think at Courtyard by Marriott prices complimentary coffee should be given.

Breakfast was an expensive disappointment. About a year ago, I had the French Toast at the same hotel and it was terrific with nice thick pieces if toast, perfectly prepared. This time, the toast was just thin grocery store bread and it was overcooked -- too hard for the plastic utensils. I ate it with my hands. The coffee was good. With the tip, breakfast was $19.50 -- way too much.

We had a nice stay and enjoyed our time there. The room was nice, staff friendly. Only downside was the adult beverages were very expensive.

Clean and firm comfortable bed. Excellent flatbread from the restaurant and a good size menu of options.

No food at the bistro

The employees were great. The woman who makes the coffee in the Starbucks is the best. So kind and friendly. The front of the property is rather unappealing with old furniture and dirty old pillows.
