The hotel overall is ok. It is too high priced in comparison with others in the area for the quality they provide. The room smells incredibly bad. I read this in previous reviews but did not put much stock in them. But, this is like level 10 bad smell. The pool was dirty and smelled like pee. There were no locks or key entry so anyone could walk in. The staff are great. They would make great additions to a better quality hotel!!

Under construction was not aware of it before hand. AC made horrible noise the whole time made it hard to sleep. Beds were not comfortable. Only one elevator worked for entire hotel. Parking was not easy.

It was under construction which was fine, but hallways were dirty from debris. Breakfast room was probably not as usual but had to ask for water or juice today as only option was coffee. Also asked for an extra pillow the first night and it never came, had to ask again in the morning, at least I got it then!

Limited parking available due to heavy equipment taking up several spots. We were still charged $12 to park but there was nothing available. We had to park in a public garage and pay for that as well. I would not stay here until the renovation is completely finished.

Nice facility, refreshing pool, good service. In JAX for a book festival. Location was handy and nice little restaurant within easy walking distance (Southern Grill). The only negative was having to pay for parking.

Place was under renovation. Everything was dirty. Saturday afternoon there was hammer drilling on the floor above. When called the hotel. They denied there was renovations going on at that time. Can’t trust this chain or support of Expedia on this matter. Although, Expedia can only go by what’s told to them. I should have taken pictures and audio recordings. Quite an extent for a simple Stay that cost 300.00

Requested an ADA wheelchair room. If our room was considered accessible, the beds were too high and the placement of the toilet paper holder was terrible for both a walker or wheelchair. Also renovations were not complete in the room, and we were not told it would be under renovation while we were there.

The parking lot was full of construction equipment and there was not enough parking for all guests staying. People were parked everywhere around the building, including the grass in front of and on the side of the building. i then noticed that there was a sign chaging $12 for parking. We ended up parking over 3 blocks away after arriving back late after a concert. The parking fee was removed. Have to give a huge shoutout to the breakfast staff, they coul not have been any friendlier or helpful.

Housekeeper need to do better when you are changing the sheets. You should take extra precautions. I always check my sheets and bathroom when checking in. My sheets were dirty and it look like it was blood on the sheets! Very unsanitary!!!

I’m very disappointed in this hotel! The staff is incredibly nice but the actual hotel is not. The rooms are absolutely disgusting. I had to be changed into another room due to how awful the shower and toilet were! The room I went into was a little better but the shower didn’t drain, hair was all in the shower and the lounge in the room was stained all over and the carpets are stained with who knows what. For 150$ a night I expect more than red roof inn quality. Don’t stay here if you can help it. Very confused as the ratings are very good on Expedia.

There are signs everywhere reminding you the hotel is about to undergo renovations, but I still took issue with the overall cleanliness of the room. The bathroom had mold, the chaise was disgustingly stained, the carpet was grungy. Just not clean

We (myself and my 2 children) checked in around 4pm. Several people ahead of me but check-in process was fairly quick. I was surprised that there is no registration card to sign. Nothing acknowledging the rate or that the hotel is smoke free. Went to our room and immediately could tell that it had been smoked in. I admit, I should have said something and asked to move. We were in a hurry to change our clothes so we could get dinner and to a concert at a nearby arena. The bathtub was peeling and bathroom floor looked dirty, although I think it was just the age of the hotel. Left for dinner and the concert and got back to our room. Used the outlet behind the nightstand to plug my charger in. During the night I woke up several times because my the bed that my daughter slept on was so squeaky. The next morning as we packed up, I went to unplug my charger and noticed a cigarette butt and Doritos behind the nightstand! I said something to the front desk and they waived the parking fee of $10. Should I ever go back to the Jacksonville area, will NOT stay here again.

I was dissappointed with the service and room. The front staff person never made eye contact with me and seemed bothered by me for no reason at all. The bathroom was gross old and not kept up the cokin coming off, toilet and floor was stained, sheets were so wrinkled, the shelf where the towels were at was full of dust. I paid $200 for a night, didnt even sleep well due to feeling so disgusted. Never again!!

We paid $600.00 dollars for 2 nights, and our room was filthy. The bed was hard and sank in the middle. This was a very disappointing time The carpet in the hallways had stains and looked very dirty.

When we got to the hotel the front desk lady was not very nice to us. But the real issue started when we entered our room. The carpet had stains, the chair was ripped and also had stains on it, the bath tub had stains and the drain was broken, and the toilet was also stained. The room did not feel well cleaned at all. If we hadn't gotten to the hotel so late I probably would not have stayed there.

The air conditioner in our room did not work properly. When we notified front desk they said they’d have someone come look at it. It was not fixed and the only way we made it through the two nights was a fan we brought from home. Otherwise the hotel was fine. The staff at breakfast were friendly and accommodating.

We had no glasses in our room, only paper cups for coffee. We went to the front desk to ask for plastic cups and they informed us the paper ones are all they have. Also our TV picture in 519 was really fuzzy on all channels.

I always stay at Hampton Inn, from up north to Florida. Having decades of family from both areas, where I grew up. This Hampton was the first time I was minimally impressed. This was okay but I found every facet of my surroundings were old, worn & simply dated.

The hotel was nice and clean. Attendants were friendly. The one thing that that could use improvement is the mattress on the bed. It was not of the quality you find at other Hampton Inns we have stayed, it might need to be replaced.

I tried checking in around noon and was told there would be a $50 charge for early check in. I asked when I could check in to avoid this and was told around 1 pm (less than an hour from then). I indicated I could not wait that long for I needed to be at a meeting. She indicated I could leave my luggage there. So, I had to freshen up in the restroom behind the desk. Very inconvenient and I'm a Hilton Honor's Member. Also, at night when I got back to my room, there was loud music coming from across the parking lot. I called front desk and asked about it. They knew and indicated that the band will quit by 9:30 pm as required by ordinance. I had a long couple days of travel and was planning on sleeping 8:30 or so. I asked to change rooms and the other room available was first floor by the elevator. So, I stayed and suffered through the loud music.They did stop around 9:40 pm. I remember asking the clerk at the front desk that I needed a very quiet room and this is what she gave me. We be traveling to downtown Jacksonville at least monthly on business going forward and will never stay at this place again.

Bed itself was comfy, but the pillows were awful. Room was too cool and could not regulate thermostat. Called desk and she didn’t know howto either. States she called manager and he didn’t know how to help either. No one ever followed up. Hallways were extremely cold as well. Hotel is in great location with many restaurants within walking distance. Housekeeping staff was very friendly.

the bath room was falling apart correct tile pant pilling off tub because it had been painted toilet seat falling off old yellow light switches that were very loose and the bed was very old and worn out huge dips in the bed

The gentleman who checked us in on Sunday, Oct 6, 2025 at 3:30pm was very professional, courteous, and such a pleasure. We were going to the Chiefs vs Jaguars game and I asked for his recommendation on how to best get to and back from the game. I shared that we have our car, but did not know the parking guidelines, or perhaps we should Uber. With a genuine smile, he explained the St. John Water Taxi. With pen and paper, he wrote their site name and was detailed in describing 'the southend port' and boarding behind Doubletree. He then grabbed a map and stated to turn right out of Hampton Inn, marked the short 1.5 blocks down the street to the dock. His recommendation and detail enabled us to have a carefree and pleasurable time getting to and from the game. The staff Sunday morning greeted us with a smile as we entered the cafe for our continental breakfast. And, a member of the Cleaning Crew was so fun to chat with on the elevator.

I have to say that was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Everyone, from the gentleman who checked us in to the housekeeper who cleaned our room and the lady who was in charge of breakfast for the guest were all wonderful! Very friendly . I would 100% recommend this hotel!

Front desk worker Jeffrey is SO kind and welcoming. He truly made my experience feel wonderful. However… Christine at the front desk was condescending, rude, and spoke to me like a child. I was in town on very important business and was not treated with respect or kindness when interacting with her. The Hotel manager was respectful and apologetic regarding the situation.

We stayed here for new years and the location was spot on. The room was nice, basic but very clean. The free breakfast was amazing, my 3 sons loved it too. Hotel is a walking distance to a few restaurants, and the bay and fountain show. Would definitely come back

Checkin felt a little cold and unfriendly. Room was nice, comfy beds, though carpets felt damp/wet, some mould on tiles. Some attempts to be more eco friendly but sadly North America still has a long way to come. Breakfast was really good. Great location to Skyway (monorail).

Nice location to easily get around town. We were there for a graduation so there were events in various locations. Check in and out was a breeze. Breakfast was a good hotel complimentary buffet and tea/coffee station. Tina keeps everything freshly provided and does so with a positive an upbeat vibe. (Tip her well… she deserves it!). Parking is easy. The property and rooms are very clean with comfy beds and pillows.
