I had called the property in advance weeks before and also days before to make sure the property’s pool and spa were up and running for the season. I had the option up until the day before checking in to cancel my reservation. This property seemed perfect and I wanted to enjoy the pool and spa with my son. Well again I called the property weeks in advance and the day before asking both times if the pool was up and running and both times I was told yes. Well I check in and and a few hours after checking in discover the pool is off limits and wouldn’t be open until after memorial weekend. I would have booked somewhere else this being the reason for my stay was the outdoor area and pool. This put an extreme damper on my trip. I was lied to and feel like the hotel staff was being lazy and decided to close the pool just to not have to deal with people using the pool over the Memorial Day weekend. Not very professional to lie about the pool being open but then closing it out of laziness just for the weekend.

Room was mostly fine other than the bathroom floor being dirty. Noticed that after I put my towel down to dry my feet and it came up brown… There was a day that housekeeping came and did not make my bed, but didn’t replenish towels. One of the exterior doors was not operational from the outside with my hotel key card, and after arriving late one night. The main door was locked with a printed sign displayed that I had to go to the far side of the building from my room and parking to enter using a side door all while an employee sat at the desk at the main door. Oh let’s also not forget to mention that of my seven day stay the elevator was down for three.

It was close to TTU and I was able to walk there several times. It was also close to other events I was attending by car. I was disappointed that the pool was closed a couple of days before I arrived... No notice was given on the website. The bathroom sink was not draining well, the toilet valve in the tank was not sealing properly so it had to refill itself periodically (waste of water), the facility was dated but it was convenient and had what I needed. It was nice havng a kitchen.

A few physical issues while we were there (elevator was down, shower was lukewarm at best on one of the days, shower did not drain well, etc.). But the location was unbeatable for me, and every single staff member that I came in contact with provided great service and always with a smile. The staff was fantastic!

The front desk was more than helpful, very pleasant and made sure we were taken care of within their control. I reserved this hotel because they advertised a hot tub but was told it was closed down for winter, which was why I did not rate as excellent. The evening social was a surprise and a nice touch. Also had a continental breakfast which had the basics and was also good for quick meal.

It was a place to stay while son had basketball camp and I was doing some schooling, not worth the price I paid and room I received, but was tolerable. More like a $70 room. Pool was closed entire time and was one of the reasons we chose this place and its location. It got closed the day we arrived and was closed for good.

Pigeons nesting above entrance with a lot of pigeon poop on the ground around the entrance. Tile broken in the bathroom that kept moving when stepped on. Bathroom was dirty. Cockroach found dead inside room door on last day. They had us in the wrong room, then did not want to change us back to the intended room as I wanted.

The hotel was conveniently located to Texas Tech but it appeared the room was not serviced prior to our arrival. There were no hand towels or washcloths only 2 towels. The hand soap was empty and the bathroom did not appear to be cleaned. There was no linens for the DFW bed in the room and the comforter I was given after I asked was ripped and in need of repair. The room had a very unpleasant scent highly perfumed maybe covering up cigarette smoke. The elevator sounded like it might stall on each ride. The supply of food and drink in the little store was essentially nothing. In general a very old facility. The desk staff was nice and tried to accommodate, I am not likely to use this hotel which is a shame because the room design option was perfect just not in hood condition

Where do I start , we spend 2 nights with my husband and son . The room is terrible , old and dirty carpet , old furniture, the sofa bed is uncomfortable , the bathroom is not updated and the tub was with a yellow spots . The elevator had a scary noise like you are going to be stuck in there. My recommendation is not going there!

This place is old and smells stale. The bed sheets were ‘clean’ I dare not look at the mattress. Pulled out the couch to look at that as my daughter needed to sleep for 1 night - ewwwww full of stains of bodily fluid - gross!! The bath filled up when taking a shower, the grout looks like its never been cleaned. Its a poor Staybridge thats been forgotten about. Never again.

The property was the ideal location for a Texas Tech game. However, for $400 a night I would expect a much cleaner room. There was dust on all the furniture. The floor in the closet was filthy as was the bathroom floor. All the furniture and doors were spotted and dirty. The tub was stained and the toilet had a ring around it and the seat was loose. The bedding for the pull out couch had blood stains on it (the front desk changed it for me quickly). It appeared that the only housekeeping done was changing the sheets and towels and maybe wiping down the bathroom between guests.

The front desk staff was extremely friendly and kind. I was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. The floor and the shower were dirty so it made me wonder what was actually cleaned in the room. Very close to Texas Tech campus so that was a plus.

The staff is the only thing I can recommend about this place. We arrived for our reservation at 4:45 and were told we would have to wait 30 minutes for house keeping to clean the room. So we waited. We finally got our key and went up but they were still in our room. When we got into the room, it looked ok. The sheets were clean and the towels were freshly laundered, which was good. The tiles in the bathroom were loose when you walked on them, the grout was all broken and/or missing, the sink, shower and floor were not clean. There was zero water pressure and a terrible shower head. Again, we had clean sheets and towels so we had a place to sleep after our event. Would not stay there again unless we were desperate.

None of the outlets in our room worked, so we couldn't charge our phones. The dishwasher had a sign on it stating not to use it. They really need to update this hotel. There was a ton of outside noise all night and the beds weren't very comfortable. We really appreciated how close the hotel was to Texas Tech. Staff was very friendly and nice.

Stayed here for a Texas Tech game and had a great experience! The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the breakfast team was super friendly. The location was perfect, saved on parking with just a pleasant 1-mile walk to the stadium, plus plenty of food and drink spots along the way. The room felt a little dated, but the bed was very comfortable, and overall the stay was excellent. Would definitely stay again!

Had to ask to switch to smaller room. Window open in room and wouldn’t close when it was 29 degrees outside. Sofa bed was unusable because of springs stabbing you. Very rundown/dumpy hotel.

I didn’t like that I could not block out the light from the windows. The air conditioning was extremely noisy, along with facing a busy road was awful. The room was also missing a coffee maker and a dining table and chair, like the photos. So, lunch and dinner was eaten either sitting on the couch, or the bed. One other thing, the microwave was not where it should/would normally be and was out on a low shelf near the floor; weird.

Only a couple of negatives on my stay: The TV wouldn’t connect to cable so we had to have the front desk come help. We had to fix it like he did EVERY time we turned it off after that. Secondly, the bath tub had a low spot so we stood in a puddle during showers.

Room was nice. Beds should be replaced as you can feel the spring pressure through them. Tub was a bit dilapidated for the quality of hotel Staybridge is. Shower water pressure was awful. The interior of the building is dated and really showing its age. Additionally, enough of the low seated toilets where you have to bend your knees like a gymnast to sit on them.

The hotel is older but room and halls had rather new carpets throughout. Our room was large with small couch and kitchenette. It was clean and bed was comfortable. The downsides was the water pressure was low, traffic noise noticeable, and breakfast was a little subpar. But I would stay here again.

Horrible experience! I booked this hotel a month in advance. When i arrived was told the hotel was overbooked and they moved me to Embassy Suites. I wanted to stay at Staybridge as it was very near the university. I called twice to say I was going to check in late in evening but still did not have a room for me.

We had to be down sized to a queen bed, said hotels.com would have to fix it. Staff was more than excellent, very helpful, more than polite. Some of the best staff I have ever experienced. Brandon was more than exceptional, went out of his way to help and fix any problems. If he's not in management he more than for sure should be.

Stay somewhere else. The hotel is close to the United Arena and Texas Tech, but upon arriving at 3:00 we were told our rooms were not ready to come back in 30 mins. We left and came back 30 mins later to still receive the same message. They didn't have the King rooms ready (I had 2 rooms reserved), but could put us into a Queen. We took that option because we had plans to be somewhere. We were not offered any discount to downgrade our rooms. Then it took the man over 30 mins to check us in! He was alone and was trying his best to multitask, but he talked a lot which made the check in way to long. He also stated he would have to call 11 people and tell them they were over booked and they wouldn't have a room that they reserved. This was a concert night!!! How do you do that to people?! Our room's AC also didn't work like it should. It would be cold then hot, the water pressure was awful. I will never stay at this property again!

When i arrived carrying all my luggage in 100 degree temperature just to learn they were full telling me there was an maintenance problem with a room. Only reason i used this hotel was because it was close to texas tech. The hotel had booked me into a different hotel 12 minutes away, doesn't sound bad until you have to drive in bumper to bumper traffic. Not happy . They simply overbooked, i made my reservation 2 days ahead.

This property is badly in need of an update! I had to switch rooms 3 times. First room had stains all over the pillows that I did not find until the morning after I had slept on it! The next room had so much water damage in the shower ceiling, I couldn’t bring myself to get in the shower plus flies everywhere. The final room was adequate. The breakfast is terrible, limited variety and cold awful coffee.

As all other getaways,this stay was unforgettable. I loved all the Stay bridge team. They truly made us feel at home, all our requests were made with excellent care.This hotel is well worth your money spent, with breakfast and a perfect happy hour offered, you get every dollar spent well worth it. I'm definitely making any future accommodations with you this hotel in particular.

Not sure if there was staffing issues or what, but the same pizza box was smelling up the hallway the length of our stay. Our room smelled of stale cigarette smoke or the efforts to cover it up and our towels smelled the same. The couch looked unsanitary. Breakfast was already empty containers at 8:00 and coffee was scarce. The pool didn't work. The automated doors haven't worked in so long they have a laminated sign telling you to slide them. Staff was FRIENDLY! Upside! Aged hotel, in need of updates and some TLC. Trash in landscaping in front of hotel. It just seemed like it was older and neglected with too little staff.
