Our stay at this hotel was overall a good experience, especially considering the price. For a budget-friendly option, it definitely met most of our expectations. The location was a bit out of the way, but still manageable—not too inconvenient if you don’t mind a short drive to nearby attractions or restaurants. The room we ended up with was clean and comfortable, though the furniture felt a little outdated. Still, for the price, it was acceptable and functional. We did have a minor hiccup when we first arrived—they initially gave us a room that was already occupied. Fortunately, the front desk staff acted quickly and professionally, and we were promptly given a different room without any further issues. As for the amenities, the pool wasn’t the best, and the hot tub in particular was disappointing. It looked dirty and worn out, and it didn’t seem to be working properly. That said, we weren’t expecting luxury, so it wasn’t a dealbreaker. Overall, if you’re looking for a decent place to stay on a budget, this hotel isn’t a bad choice. Just keep your expectations reasonable, and you’ll likely have a pleasant stay.

Hottub...pool tech says cant turn temp past 95...i have a back injury and chose to stay here for hot tub.. turn it up to 102

The indoor pool was super loud and HOT. The air temp in the pool bldg had to have been muggy and humid 85-90 degrees. There was no air circulation. I tried to sit in front of emergency exit to get a breeze from outside but was told by mgr that it needed to be closed.

You pool area is very unsafe the floor is so bad 3 people slip and fell to the ground me as someone over 60yr slipped lucky i did not fall told the person at the front deck she said i it is not safe..

The room was great, but the hot tub was just slightly warm.

In the car for four hours with grandchildren who were waiting to jump in the pool. Pool area was closed and we were not permitted to cancel reservation and stay elsewhere

Hotel was fine. Room comfortable. Workout room was very run down. No weights, treadmill felt insecure, bike insecure too. Breakfast cold but staff polite.

Hot tub was dirty and not hot at all. We had to ask the staff to turn it up. Many people talking loudly in the hotel after 11:00 pm. Hard to sleep. Bed was super hard. Sheets were dirty. 3/5 overall. Not terrible but not the best we've visited.

While our room was clean, although carpet old and stained, the property was not clean. All Windows filthy, outside trays and over flowing with trash, the hallways had bad smell, one of the rooms (we had 2) did not have the light blocking roll down shade. No USB ports in the rooms for charging. We paid 3 times more than normal rate due to TTU game price gouging, and will go elsewhere next visit.

When we walked in the air conditioning was off and it was 82° in the room. Then we tried to use the bathroom, they have one of those stupid new barn doors and it wouldn’t close so you had no privacy in the bathroom. Also, somebody thought it would be a good idea to have the toilet right next to the door so you were completely exposed to everybody else in the room. The beds were as hard as a rock and everything was really dirty especially the bathroom. The hall outside our room had not been vacuumed in a long time. We had three people staying in the room and they only gave us two towels.

Room was excessively hot when we arrived and the AC took a long time to catch up. Bathroom counter had not been cleaned since last guest. Handrails in bathroom were dirty and the Bathroom floor had footprint tracks as well, giving overall impression the entire bathroom was not cleaned between guests. Fitted Sheet on bed was either the wrong size or was put on incorrectly as it would not stay on the bed, making an uncomfortable night of sleep.

There was trash piled outside every trash can inside, and along the hallways outside doors. The room itself was filthy, hair EVERYWHERE, stains on the sheets, what bothered me most was they gave us one key upon check in and when we got to our room it was OPEN! The deadbolt was extended so the door would Not close. I understand they explained housekeeping leaves these open by accident sometimes and it was “human error” but I found so many unsettling things wrong with this. A. Train your housekeeping staff better B. Do they have some sort of system worked out where they are letting people “use” rooms prior to guests checking in? C. Someone could have been in the room waiting for us to come in? People are too crazy nowadays you just never know. The room looked like it hadn’t actually been deep cleaned since it opened, everything was filthy and there were multiple peoples hairs everywhere and stains on the linens and bedskirts. I will never stay at this chain again and will opt for my our normal chains.

This place has gone down hill! The room was so gross. There was a dried booger on one of the beds and the other bed had blood on the comforter. The hallways were dirty, un mopped and un vacuumed. Management or whoever seemed like they really could have cared less. The housekeeping needs to be put in check, you would think that with the lack of cleanliness that maybe they’re short handed but on the day of departure there was plenty of housekeeping. Definitely NOT worth the money!!

I stayed at the Wyndham hotel on January 24, 2025, for a track event. The carpet was dirty in the first room. Moved to another room. One bed had someone else's hair and the other had pee stains. I was promised that I would be refunded for one of my nights because I checked out a day early because I was told that they didn't have any rooms available. I have yet to receive a refund.

We were placed in TWO dirty rooms the first room had hair on the floor and dead bugs as well as large stains on the sheets and mattress. We were then moved to another room that had food on the floor along with hair and other objects in the bed. The rooms were gross!!

Hotel was clean for the most part, our tub was clogged and the water would not drain which was terrible and nasty, they didn’t have another room to move us and the front desk said they would contact maintenance but we never heard back. I was double charged for a room and advised at check that I would not sign bc the booking site was contacting the hotel directly. The rude man told me I needed to sign otherwise he would put as a mo show and the manager would tell me the same. I didn’t sign and spoke to a manager who advised that he misinformed me, and there was not a male manager as he referenced the night before. She apologized for everything and was her nice

Just average room was noisy

Everything was prefect and amazing. Only issue was beds were really stiff and a little uncomfortable.

Temperature in room upon arrival at 8pm was 79 degrees. It was a 92 degree day. Air conditioner never cooled down. Front desk had zero concern when contacted.

We had a room by the elevator plus rooms are not very soundproofed. Glad I wasn’t there much! Always seemed to be a lot going on in the hall. The lady running the breakfast cleanup was very rude to another client in front of me, VERY. It was clean, good location and close parking. I probably won’t be back. I need quiet to sleep and there’s no such thing there, unfortunately.

Walls are thin

Hotel overall was clean. Room was clean. The shower had poor water pressure and the beds felt like you were sleeping on a hard floor or concrete. Pillows were about the same. Won’t be staying there again.

We dont like sliding doors for the bathroom, they not closes completely and there is no lock, they have open space in both sides We like the colors the hotel has, in the descriptions says is soud proof, that's not true Beds are confortable Easy check in, check out

Good deal for the price, but it was kind of noisy for a largely empty hotel. We heard every door close near us, every step people in the room above took.

It was great until time for bed. The mattress was so hard I could barely walk when I got up

Vivian called police because she was bothered that family was calling us and property phones were not working so calls could not be transferred to room came to my door spoke to me with an attitude I told her phone situation should have been disclosed she told me if i was not happy why didn't i go somewhere else and I said ok give me a refund and I will and she said no. So i looked at her name tag and told her you are not the manager I will handle this with corporate office and closed my door. She banged on my door and said leave I am calling the cops. So indeed she came back with the cops said owner of property approved her kicking us out and she refused to give me a name and phone number to who I could direct myself to.

Convenient location, safe area, fair price, kind staff, spacious room - Wingate’s taken over as my favorite hotel in Lubbock.

Very unhelpful staff I booked 2 rooms and when we got there they only had 1 and made me pay for another - my expedia shows I had 2 rooms and we still have no resolution or refund

Didn't like how many times I was charged when I checked in first day 630.00, then the next day was charged 378.00 and 294.30. I wasn't even staying in a 3 star hotel. When I asked at the front desk the lady said we didn't charge you anything call you're bank and I did , they had all the charges. Hopefully I won't stay with y'all again. Also the beds look like someone had lay on them . Bad all around!!

Just want to thank Rudy our check-in clerk. He made sure to explain everything and settled the teens down in the pool.

I really liked the staff when I first arrived she was very helpful and was able to get me situated into a new room … I didn’t like my first room wasn’t properly cleaned and smelled absolutely terrible … I also didn’t like the staff member the next day I had to work and needed to get on the road but I needed the room another night and he was no where to be found I called back to back even, to get the phone at the front desk to ring and it was about 45 minutes it took him and I was late for work and then I’m not sure if he didn’t understand me or if he just didn’t know what he was doing but he wasn’t very much help … also the side door wasn’t working properly it wouldn’t unlock completely after using a card key… and it was pretty pricey all things considered

Christina B. (Manager) …was rude and impolite. She marched into the breakfast area at 9:00 and behaved as though the five guests that were quietly finishing their breakfasts were going to grab one more sausage. She was barking orders to staff and quickly grabbing all hot items and taking them away. Just have never seen this type of behavior, the dire urgency to get the food out of the breakfast area immediately! Then as I checked out, she didn’t offer a receipt so I asked for one. She rudely said to me, “You didn’t choose to pay me to stay here, you booked with an outside option”. Well, I chose to stay there?! Why such an attitude? I was polite, we weren’t a bother, we kept our room clean, I don’t get it? Lastly, the tile grout is missing in many places in the bathroom and in one place the tile is loose and raised which is a tripping hazard. The carpet could also be cleaned. Wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. Christina didn’t appreciate our business.

Everyone at the front desk was friendly and quick to respond! Highly recommend!

I booked a two night stay for my daughter who is a college student. The first night a stranger walked into her room at 2AM. A mistake from the front desk. The next morning room service was banging at her door asking “weren’t you supposed to check out at 9AM? (Another mistake from the front desk). These are the only two incidents my daughter would tell me about because she did not want me to cause a scene. I care about my daughters safety and if you care about your safety, do not stay here.

Convenient location, safe area, fair price, kind staff, spacious room - Wingate’s taken over as my favorite hotel in Lubbock.

I try to always stay here since it has the best access to the Lubbock Airport. This trip the a/c fan in the room had a rumble to it that made it hard to get to sleep for awhile. Overall, it’s a great property at a great price

It’s close to the highway

Great area to stop for the night! The rooms were great and staff were always around to assist!

Food was horrible! Biscuits all on the floor! One half pan of eggs….. no meat; one biscuit; it was 7:05! Worker was sitting around the corner on her phone. Asked when checked in about a later check out and was told 1; but to tel them the next morning so at 7 when I went down she told me 12 was all they could offer.

If you're looking for the average hotel stay, with little frills, and ok service, this is your hotel. Check in, front desk, and the amenities are standard fare but efficient. The staff courteous and welcoming. Internet access was decent, but only after finding out the hotel was only half full. Breakfast is lackluster "continental", although eggs and sausage are the hot items. Why the average rating? Because this was a Texas Tech graduation week, this gives them the excuse to double the per night rate. For that price, no, it's not "worth" the value you get. Everybody does it, so that makes it ok. Any other time of the year, expect to pay half the rate. If you're going to charge more, give more. Start with a better breakfast, maybe a mint on the pillow for that price.

The breakfast provided was lacking. Cereal was provided, but no milk, toast and bagels, but no butter or cream cheese. No juice or water.

Eggs were dry. Shower was cracked needing repair & slick raising a potential fall hazard for seniors. Avoid football weekends! Our rate for Tuesday through Thursday was from $69 to $81. But, Friday night jumped to $285 with no change in service! I know, supply & demand. But let’s be reasonable.

We had a good stay. The staff was first class, constantly helping and cleaning. Good value for the money. The breakfast was better than most hotels.
