Our room was great. The first room they put us in the ac wasn't working well, but they moved us to another room. Parking was a little tricky but they let us park in valet when there weren't any parking spaces left. The only let down was they were remodeling and the gym and pool were closed. So when you first go inside it makes you think twice about your booking since it's got so much plastic and construction going on. But like I said we were happy with our room.

Absolutely no insulation / sound proofing between rooms or door to hall. Neighbor turned on TV at about 230 AM and woke us up and kept us awake. Not sure if same, but others were in hall about same time and they were loud and we could hear them quite clearly. while upgrading rooms it would be nice if you could work on how much noise transfers to room. Take and go breakfast is a joke- mini sausage biscuit thing, prepackage muffin, prepackaged small bagels, granola bar, one type of yogurt, apple juice and a small cream cheese in a fridge on a counter that looked like it was well used. no toaster for bagels.

Construction under way on the hotel. No lobby the area around the construction a mess. I’d wait till it was done before going. Room was clean. Plastic cups were left to use on the in room coffee pot which were useless.

This property was not clean. I was charged over $200 a night and I was not able to force myself to get in bed. I'm sure my room was not cleaned after the last person left. There was hair in the bed, on top the covers, in the shower, and on the counter top. The pictures look okay online but believe me, you will regret spending your money to stay there. There is absolutely no water pressure. I recommend spending the extra money and going someplace else. Two stars for the property condition because the airconditioner and the elevator worked.

We were not informed the property was undergoing a renovation. The lobby was nonexistent, just a check-in desk. The elevators, also looked like a construction zone. The construction noise began at 8am and continued all day. Our room had not yet been renovated, and although it was clean, it was old. Water pressure in the shower was very low, window curtains had mold. BUT, the staff was GREAT! Always smiling, professional, and helpful to do what they could to help us.

The lobby smelled bad, musty, dirty and cigarette smoke. There was a used bath towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door when we checked in. The room smelled bad. The carpet felt damp. The air conditioner never cooled the room so we did not sleep well.

Unfortunately, my room was right across the hall from laundry services and the ice machine. Lots of people wanted ice and it was loud. The bed is borderline ready for replacement. I could hear the coils. It was good enough to sleep on for a few days. Location was good for where I needed to be, and staff was friendly.

They’re doing a lot of construction, which I understand, the staff was not very friendly when I asked about getting a disabled veterans discount. She said we had already received a discount and that all it explanation she gave also the beds were not very good. The mattress kept sliding!!! we were gone all day to citadel and no one checked our room for trash or towels!

We had a lot of extra room with the pullout couch. The beds weren't that comfortable and they were doubles vs queens so sleeping was tight for 2 people. Otherwise it was fine for being downtown Charleston.

The place is undergoing some major interior renovations while remaining open for business right now so don't expect too much, but my room was just fine, fully upgraded, clean, tidy with all the latest mod cons and they put me on the 7th floor away from all the construction noise. The price was a steal for the location. If you are on a budget but still want to stay in a decent place this was perfect for me. I hope will be for you... Fred. Simpsonville, SC.

It would’ve been nice to be notified that this property was under EXTREME renovations prior to coming. Our rooms looked like they were “renovated” but the shower door in my room didn’t close, there was a massive space between the floor and the door leading to the hallway that if someone laid on the floor they could look out into the hall. The bed frames had no stoppers for the mattress so the mattress was slipping off the base of the bed frame. Random pieces of wet cardboard and nails on the floor, one of my guests almost slipped and fell on a wet piece of cardboard coming out of the elevator. Overall super disappointed and pretty shocked you are charging guests regular price to stay at this hotel. Would’ve appreciated some type of discount.

Was given a room with a single bed when I reserved and 2 doubles a sofa bed. No big deal. Fixed that. Next day I have a whole family randomly walk into my room as I was resting from my Childs heart surgery. The manager, Mike. Had zero comprehension as this is ridiculously beyond a safety concern, giving a very nonchalant "sorry" like it’s no big deal. Fast forward to later when I’ve called 4 times for towels an a backed up toilet and again, zero sense of urgency, a nonchalant sorry again, and when I asked for a corporate number he refused and said I could “look up Choice” because he doesn’t know what I expect. Plunger just arrived. I have to clear the clog myself.

The guy at the front desk was SO nice! Showed us how to use the free shuttle to get every where we needed to go. Stop is literally next to the hotel. You do have to ask for ask for housekeeping each day if you want it but that was no big deal.

This Comfort Inn— transitioning into a Fairfield Inn, Mariott is just fine. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, and by far the best thing about it, a friendly, welcoming staff. No complaints—but if you are there to see downtown and the French Quarter, you’ll have to walk. Not much more than a mile, but just so you know. For the price, no doubt I would stay again. But I am partying elsewhere!

We had our stay during construction (which we had not been informed of prior) and it was a bad experience. Very loud, which comes with construction. I spoke with the front desk about moving and we were fully accommodated! We moved 2 floors down and it was a wonderful stay. We have stayed here several times over the past year due to the proximity of the VA Hospital, and each time we had a wonderful stay. The staff were great, friendly and very accommodating. This just happened to be “one of those times “. We will continue to stay in the future as our needs require. Kudos for the entire staff.

The property was under major renovation. This was not conveyed before booking. No lobby or dining for the free breakfast which was only a grab and go prepackaged muffin. Front desk staff occasionally would look up from their cell phone as you walked by. Attitude was as though you were a bother to them.

Located in major medical district and inexpensive. Dash-Carta is next door for access to free bus transportation to and through major French Quarter, Historic District and don’t miss tours (e.g. Fort Sumter or Aquarium). Just not walking distance to any restaurants or stores.

I chose to be close to MUSC. I didn't pay for a "grab and go" breakfast that consisted of a rubbery bagel that was gross. The place was being renovated. That would have been nice to have known when selecting along with the breakfast. Absolutely ridiculous.

The overall experience was great. The rooms were clean and accommodating. We were very disappointed however, when we arrived to find the lobby under renovation. We were told there was no sit down breakfast due to the renovation. This was not noted when I booked the room. That was one of the main reasons we selected this hotel for our trip. I feel that there should have been a mention about the renovations on the website.
