The view is amazing and so is the service. Love breakfast brought to the spacious room. Really appreciate the full closet so our bags can be put away for the stay. Hot tub on the roof is grand, but be sure to bring towels and robes from your room. Staff super friendly and helpful, and daily maid service was a treat

The location was fantastic and we had a front row seat to the sea lions that came in to breed. The breakfast is delivered to your room! And the two hot tubs were great.

The room was very nice. Beautiful view of the ocean. The staff was nice and helpful, however the amenities that are stated on the website are not on the premises. There is no restaurant and no spa. The building in rooms only.

No complaints about the room or the location. Most of the staff were great. A couple staff members weren't the nicest, but I don't mean the service was bad. It was just noticeable because other staff members outshined them. The only problem during my stay was the elevator broke, so we had to use the stairs. I was able to manage fine, but if someone was elderly or with a disability it probably wasn't ideal for them. They fixed the elevator rather quickly, but it was making too much noise for me to feel comfortable taking it. So I continued to take the stairs.

Great property at the edge of Cannery Row next to San Carlos Park. Relatively quiet area. Easy walking distance to most attractions. Free trolly will take you around town - stops about a block away. Great numbers of sea lions to watch on beach next to us as well as other marine wildlife. Staff was unfailingly courteous. Another delight: they bring a continental breakfast of your choosing directly to your room. Rooms are sufficiently large and very nicely appointed. Each room has a small balcony. We really enjoyed our stay here. I was a little unhappy about the $25 per day parking until I realized it was covered parking with full in and out privileges and close to so many attractions. If you were to drive in and pay for parking, you would probably pay more.

I was disappointed in my stay here. You have a beautiful view of the ocean. The room was nice. HOWEVER, the roof top jacuzzi area reeked like urine! We went to the 2nd floor jacuzzi reeked and bubbled from soap in it. Let front desk lady know we were grossed out. Told her we might check out early. She could care less. The. We t to shower and use a robe. It had black hair on it. Was it really clean. Went back down to tell front desk. Front desk guy did send up fresh robes and champagne and tried to make it right. The price is not worth stay.

The front desk staff seemed to think they were entitled and doing me a favor to allow me to stay in this hotel. They were less than accommodating for an early check in. I arrived earlier than the scheduled check in at 4pm. I requested an early check in and they stated they would call. No call. I came back at 3:30 as I watched them check other guests in. They offered all the guest ear plugs but not me. You need ear plugs due to the seals. The bathrooms are out dated, hair in the tub, comforter on bed old and dirty. When I asked for water was told it’s in the room.. it wasn’t so I had to call down to get some. I would not stay at this hotel again. BTW no air conditioning. Not a big deal per the front desk. however you can’t have your slider open because of the seals noise so yes. big deal!

Hotel is old and very much in need of an upgrade or repair. Paint in the shower was peeling and the decor is very dated as well as the furnishings and rug. For $500 a night, I expect much more. Not a pleasant stay at all.

The jacuzzi was lukewarm, cushions on lounge chairs are worn out, room #210 carpet by slider is shredded and the desk chair is badly stained and cushion is shredded so bad the foam is exposed. Not what you expect for the price we paid.

Service here is beyond fantastic! Very pleasant, super helpful and very accommodating. But the hotel itself is an absolute mess! For $900 we had a room with no ac, the screen door was broken and had holes in it. very thin walls and ceiling to the point where we could here every step the guest above us made, for the last two nights. Constant noises and movements, bed was hard but still better than some we’ve slept in. Stain on the wall, cracks in the ceiling in the restroom and the shower as well as the side of the bed. Water from the shower kept finding its way on the floor no matter how closed we put the curtain. Blow dryer looked like it was pulled out of the trash. No hand soap in the room, no ventilation in the bathroom. Room smelled musky. Highlight was the room came with binoculars to see the sealife. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Monterey or Cannery row for that matter. Pay the extra money and get a better room somewhere else.

Our stay was amazing and the staff was great! Dennis was specifically the one that helped us throughout our stay and he made us feel welcomed and comfortable! The location is amazing and the seals were sooo cute!!! It was an extra touch to an amazing weekend! My only suggestion is for the Hotel itself and that it needs some upgrades to building. For example, the doors to the balconies were old and we struggled to close. Also, there’s no A/C and our room kept getting hot so we used the “store bought” fan they kindly provided.

I approached the counter and the receptionist just looked at me without any greeting or even a how can I help you. Then when I said hi he just said “what’s up”. There was no wifi coverage in the room.

This place was amazing for the price. Breakfast, which came with the cost of the room, was delivered to our door each morning. The room and bathroom were very large, and there was a balcony with great views. I'm a pillow snob and was elated when I saw a placard on the desk with a "pillow menu." Located next to Cannery Row it was convenient for shopping and dining. I would definately stay again and recommend.

Good price for area. Although wish their breakfast was a little more filling. I would say it’s breakfast sides and beverages, missing the main dish for sure, so we went elsewhere for that. Also it is a little outdated, just some change in decor and new paint can really elevate the place.

Our trip was amazing. We were celebrating a big birthday and an anniversary trip and the girl with long blonde hair with glitter pieces in her hair was so nice and welcoming. She asked where we were eating and gave us a voucher for that restaurant. She really went above and beyond for our trip. We felt special.

The view is amazing and so is the service. Love breakfast brought to the spacious room. Really appreciate the full closet so our bags can be put away for the stay. Hot tub on the roof is grand, but be sure to bring towels and robes from your room. Staff super friendly and helpful, and daily maid service was a treat

What a fabulous place to stay in beautiful Monterey. Many helpful and friendly staff including; Dennis, Alex and Stacy. The views from our room were amazing! The continental breakfast was delivered at our requested time and was delicious! We can’t wait to come back.

Easy parking and check in right on Cannery Row. If you're a light sleeper it may not be the place for you because the sea lions bark down on the beach all night. But it was very convenient to walk to dinner, shops, and the Aquarium during our stay.

Excellent location with amazing ocean views! Loved hearing and seeing the barking seals and sea lions. Lots of otters as well. Room was extremely clean with a very comfortable well made bed and pillows. Beautiful spacious bathroom. Both hot tubs and fire pit are nice amenities. Front desk staff and housekeeping were so nice and friendly. Couldn’t ask for better, they do their job well. Breakfast was perfect. Whale watching, Fisherman’s wharf, Cannery Row and driving distance to some other cool towns. Loved my recent stay and hope to be back again someday.

Great property at the edge of Cannery Row next to San Carlos Park. Relatively quiet area. Easy walking distance to most attractions. Free trolly will take you around town - stops about a block away. Great numbers of sea lions to watch on beach next to us as well as other marine wildlife. Staff was unfailingly courteous. Another delight: they bring a continental breakfast of your choosing directly to your room. Rooms are sufficiently large and very nicely appointed. Each room has a small balcony. We really enjoyed our stay here. I was a little unhappy about the $25 per day parking until I realized it was covered parking with full in and out privileges and close to so many attractions. If you were to drive in and pay for parking, you would probably pay more.

Location was perfect. 15 min walk to Fisherman's Wharf and 15 min walk to the Aquarium. Many shops and restaurants in between. The stay was nice. I was little disappointed about the breakfast and no microwave in the room.

The only things that were good about the hotel were the view of the ocean (sea lions), the service, and the pillows. Otherwise, I think this hotel is very overpriced. You’re paying for the view and access to Cannery Row. The hotel is extremely outdated. I was nervous every time I got in the elevator. The parking is $25 a day, and you have to squeeze to get your car into the small garage. The carpet was stained, the chair in the room ripped. The towels are scratchy. The balcony doors struggled to stay on the hinges. The entire hotel needs updating. I think what I was most disappointed in was the breakfast. They make a big deal about serving it to your room every morning, but it’s 2 pieces of melon or pineapple and some grapes. The yogurt is a cup of Chobani. The “fresh baked” pastries are definitely not fresh baked. The coffee is awful. And that’s all you get. I’ve gotten better continental breakfasts at hotels that cost me less than half the price this one did. Maybe it’s California prices, but I won’t stay here again. If staying on the water is important to you, then go for it, but I’d rather spend my money on other parts of my trip.

The Monterey Bay Inn is a unique property. It sits right on the Bay on Cannery Row. It does not have a restaurant or bar, but the location is close to many fine dining options. The room includes a wonderful continental breakfast that has warm muffins, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled egg and coffee that is brought to your room. The service us friendly and professional. I upgraded my room to the ocean view balcony. Wow! Was that a great idea. The views were stunning. The room is very large and comfortable. The bathrooms were also large. There are rwo hit tubs on the property but i did not bring my bathing suit so was sad to have not tried it. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely oceanside hotel in a quiet and convenient location just 5 mins from Cannery Row and Downtown (on foot). Great array of coffee shops and restaurants nearby and parking on site (extra). Staff at the hotel are lovely. Polite and well informed, nothing appears to be too much trouble. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. A continental breakfast is served in your room.

Good price for area. Although wish their breakfast was a little more filling. I would say it’s breakfast sides and beverages, missing the main dish for sure, so we went elsewhere for that. Also it is a little outdated, just some change in decor and new paint can really elevate the place.

Loved our room on the top floor with amazing views of the sea otters in the kelp beds. Bed was very comfortable. Lots of towels were provided. It was close enough to walk everywhere to restaurants, fisherman's wharf, and the Aquarium.

This hotel was a great find in Monterey! Super comfortable beds and pillows, a great miniature continental breakfast with fresh baked pastries, and stellar views of sea otters right off our balcony. It’s very centrally located, so you can park your car and walk everywhere. The staff was really friendly and helpful as well.
