Great location, easy to access restaurants and the beaches. Our room was comfortable but the door/doorframe to the room was very old and not in good condition and so the door didn't actually close / seal completely letting in a lot of light at night and all the sounds from the hallways and other rooms - so not the most restful night of sleep. Also we didn't read reviews beforehand - they charge $20 night for parking in their garage but there is also parking on the street if you don't want to pay.

The rooms are large here. I stayed at 3 properties in the area and this was by far the best. There was so much room we could fit 5 piece of luggage, have space to work and not trip in our stuff. I loved the restaurants and Dust Bowl Brewery. Less tourist VS Cannery Row. Breakfast burritos everyday were perfect. The hot tub wasn’t working properly and that was the only downfall.

Seems a bit run down. The parking is absolutely terrible. When you pay 22 dolllars to park and a lot of the spaces are difficult to park in due to large beams or just really narrow spaces. If you leave and lose your spot for the night it is awful. It does not seem like there are enough spaces. The hotel could be a bit cleaner. Was grossed out because I found a bunch of hair on my bath towel before I going to try and use it. Would never stay here again.

I would’ve given a 5 star review but ….we were told to use a certain elevator, possibly the only elevator that takes us to our room on the third floor, but it was “out of service”. My husband is 73 and carried a lot of luggage up 3 flights of stairs. I feel more communication between staff and guests would be helpful. We’ve stayed there once before with no complaints.

I do not recommend this place! It used to be very nice and great customer service but not anymore and this was the second time it has been like this for us, so I know it wasn’t just this one stay. Beware of false advertising, they do not have any hot tubs, they haven’t for more than six months. They also do not clean your room, and they do not stock the shower with any soap or hair products to wash. This place was very much a disappointment and absolutely not worth the price.

The breakfast was good but there was a hair in our breakfast burrito. However this happens sometimes. The food was good tasted fresh. The breakfast space was very clean and kept up and filled consistently. Friendly staff. The room had a lot of various different hairs on the toilet on the floor on the bed. The bathroom was not very clean on the floor or on the glass table in the bathroom. The toilet had hairs on it and the bathroom overall smelled like a camping bathroom. All the staff was very nice. The outside areas did not look like they were being kept up and cleaned

In retrospect, I recall my previous stay at your establishment, which occurred quite some time ago. However, I must express my disappointment as the cleanliness of the hotel had significantly deteriorated. My wife aptly described it as…. “not aging well.” The carpet appeared visibly soiled, and there was an abundance of flies in the hallway. Furthermore, the sliding doors leading to the bathroom were heavily soiled, making them unappealing to touch. After my first night, I seriously considered checking out early and seeking an alternative room at a nearby competitor, even if it meant paying a higher rate. Regrettably, I must conclude that this may be the last time I choose to stay at your establishment. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause

The room we reserved was suppose to be luxury. It's a bit outdated, some maintenance needs to be done for sure, I forgot to take a picture of the room, but we stayed on the 3rd floor room 318; The shower has lots of mold growing so I was disgusted when showering. Make sure you travel with shower flip flops. The Tv was old and had a line going through it, bring your own Amazon stick or Roku to be able to use smart tv apps. They offer Xfinity cable. The fireplace is tricky to turn on there is a sign right next to it that states "Light at your own RISK" Lol . It's $22 for parking per night. Street parking is available but some spots are only for 2hrs. We had a small patio facing the wall. We might stay here again, but there are more cleaner options available. The staff was very nice and the morning breakfast provided was okay.

The hotel itself is nice. Our suite had used cups in the fridge. There were dead bugs in the bathtub and bathroom sink. The shower had a clump of hair on the wall. The patio furniture on the patio was dirty and there were a lot of spiderwebs so we weren't able to sit outside. We weren't fully comfortable since the room didn't feel as clean as it should.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness of this property has gone downhill quite a bit. I have stayed here numerous times and LOVE the location, the set-up of the rooms & proximity to the beach & walking path, but the rooms are not cleaned or maintained very well. The shower specifically was full of mold & mildew, and had small little worms crawling out of the cracks when the water was turned on. If we were staying longer I would have requested a room change, but it was late & we were already unpacked. In addition the mini-fridge was not very cold, & the knob was broken, so couldn’t turn it down & spider webs on the patio area. Otherwise, staff is very kind & helpful. I will stay here again, but def going to inspect room carefully before settling in. When booking thru Expedia, it seems most places give you the crappy rooms :(

Outdated and dingy. Room smelled very musty we had to leave the deck door open for a long time to air it out during both days. You had to keep messing with the TV connections to get it to work. It looks like they throw paint on top of paint. Could feel springs in sofa couch. Stayed on the 2nd floor and could hear walking. I wouldn’t stay here again. I’m not sure how others rated this 8/10, 9/10, or 10/10. I was really disappointed considering the price I paid. Great location, good breakfast and pet friendly.

The room is more than a bed and bathroom. With the fireplace, couch, dining table and balcony it’s very cozy and comfortable. The host was very pleasant. On site parking for a fee. Less than a 5 minute walk to Fishermans Wharf and maybe 15 to Cannery Row. Love the eclectic layout of the property and the outside seating areas with the fountains. Will definitely be returning.

Check in was a breeze and staff were friendly and helpful. Our suite was cute and spacious but the walls were thin and we could hear our neighbors and anyone walking down the hallways. My husband couldn’t sleep due to the loud noise. You could hear cars driving down the street and all.

Very friendly and efficient check-in staff. Room was clean and well supplied. Only bummer was that the room was hot and there was no air conditioner. We had to open the windows to cool the room down but that let in the noise from the traffic along Pacific Ave.

The room itself was very nice - spacious with a living room area, fireplace, big bathroom, and balcony. The bed was also comfortable. However, the walls are thin and you could hear people talking and people walking above. There was no air conditioner but if you opened the windows for air, the road noise made it impossible to sleep. To top it off, there was a very loud large drunk group out talking in front of the hotel and around hotel halls. Then the alarm went off because a water main burst in the early morning hours. The hotel couldn’t help the issue with the water main but each room should have an air conditioner. Between the stuffiness, the noise, and the fire alarm it was the worst night sleep I have had at a hotel in a long time - if ever. And that’s a shame because it’s a charming hotel with spacious rooms. Unfortunately, we won’t be staying again.

Great location. Needs to be updated and cleaned up but we would stay here again for the right price. We had upstairs room with balcony, super high ceiling, gas fireplace. We did not see what the ground floor rooms looked like. One block from downtown Monterey. 5 minute walk to wharf. 20 minute walk to Cannery Row.

It was me, my wife, and my 12 year old son who checked in at 3::15pm. The check in went smoothly, and the staff were ver kind and professional. Then, the power went out at 5:15 pm, and the outage was for the entire hotel. That meant our room was freezing, due to the rain and the weather outside. It is now 11:39pm and the power is still off. There has been no communication, no updates, nothing!!! My family had to sent in our car while it was running to get warm and to charge our phones. When then called the hotel manager by the name of Anna, and she was beyond unhelpful, and very unprofessional. She was not empathetic, and it’s terrible because her staff is much more professional than her. When we asked for a refund due to the unsatisfactory hotel stay, she stated that she could only give back $55.00. Parking alone was $22.00. She stated that we can go to Sand City to see if they had rooms available, and that it was not her fault that the weather caused the power to go out. She then refused to give me her name, but I believe that’s because she realized how unprofessional she was being. Anna then told me and my wife that we need to contact Expedia to get a refund since we are booked through Expedia, and because the hotel does not have our money. After the phone call with Anna, my wife and I were upset but more disappointed. We will not be coming back to this hotel, and will not recommend it to others either.

Great property and great location, had some people above us that were so loud with there music on until 3:30 in the morning. Me and my wife called the front desk several times and nothing got corrected or done, because I punched through Expedia they couldn’t even discount the room.

This is now my favorite spot to stay when visiting Monterey. The morning staff was wonderful I didn’t get the lady’s name that helped us Saturday morning but she was wonderful. My only complain is the afternoon and evening staff (2 females front desk) were not so nice or helpful they shouldn’t work the front desk if they don’t want to be there… but I would definitely recommend staying here you definitely won’t be disappointed💕

The property has a wonderful breakfast and a clean room. My stay was only given a negative rating because there was no night watch and our neighbors were quite noisy. No one came to warn them to stop yelling, arguing, slamming doors, etc. Their children were running around rattling doors, ours included. Our sleep time was limited until two in the morning.

Hotel Pacific is such a gem!! The rooms are spacious and perfectly decorated. I loved walking around Monterey and having our hotel conveniently located in the center of town to grab sunglasses, jackets, etc. in the middle of our activities. We couldn’t get the fireplace to light because a the cardboard matches were so flimsy and there were some minor updates to be done to the unit, but overall super quaint, adorable spot in town! I’ll be back :)

We had a junior suite. The room was very nice. The only complaint is we were right on the street. The street was very noisy!! Non stop cars, it kept us up most of the night. Breakfast was pretty decent. Love that it’s within walking distance of the wharf and shops.

The hotel is much better than what we expected. It is very close to Fisherman's Wharf, which has many dining options. You can walk along the coast to see tons of sea lions. The breakfast is compliment and taste. Sometimes it can run out when there are too many people.

I was a little scared to stay here based on review but honestly, I thought it was great. Amazing location. Walked to downtown, old wharf- and from the wharf to cannery row. There was also a free trolley (in summer) that runs from the wharf to cannery row with a stop right outside the hotel. It’s a little worn - older property - but rooms were large and clean- and the beds were comfy. Breakfast was great- full breakfast on weekend - continental on weekdays. Only one tiny hot tub for large property, and people always in it - so we weren’t able to use that… it is on a busy street, but I used earplugs :) So that didn’t bother me too much. Overall, for the price (compared to other options), the size of rooms, and location- we thought it was great. Most of the staff was super friendly too.
