This was a fantastic place to stay for our family when we were in Newport. The rooms were spacious, the 2-rooms were king size instead of queen or double, the parking is included, and there is a shuttle (Paul was a great driver and tour guide) that takes you into town by the wharf so you don’t have to find a lot. We’re so glad to have chosen this hotel over the ones in town.

We loved this hotel! The staff was very friendly, big spacious clean rooms, great indoor pool. The big plus for us was the complimentary shuttle that takes you to downtown Newport so you don't have to drive and worry about finding a parking spot.

Nice place, but the wood floors allow sound to come under the doors. Also, there was insufficient lighting in the room. With everything on it was not very well lit. Also, I was shocked they charged for a cup of coffee in the morning in the lobby. Seems like they’re trying to act like a big city hotel. Not sure if they charged for parking. Ridiculous if they did.

Room as okay, gym was dirty and half of the machines didn’t work, no cleaning wipes but indicated to clean up after yourself. Laundry was disgustingly awful, mold in machines and only one washer worked. This property was not a grand experience. Beware and stay somewhere else! A lot to choose from in this area…

I thought the property was very easy to access. Loved how close it was to Newport and offered a shuttle service. Room was very clean and AC worked great. Pool area was clean as well. Loved the fire pit and areas to sit outside. Disappointed at the 17 dollars per day facility fee when you’re already paying for your stay.

Always a wonderful stay when we stay at this hotel. The comfort, value, location and convince of this hotel being close to all centrally located atteactions and downtown Newport. The onsite restaurant serves quality food, the pool has to be one of the best by far on the island, not to mention its a salt water pool. Also love the fact that they offer free shuttles to down town running through the day. Sunday nights they have live music/ jazz in the restaurant bar area. This is a geat hotel to stay for couples trip, a family trip or business trip.

The shuttle to downtown Newport every half hour was outstanding. We could get into Newport and back on a predictable schedule. The drivers were outstanding, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area.

Everything was fine until the first time we used the water and it came out a yellowish color..even after letting it run a while. You can probably imagine why we didn’t want to shower, drink coffee, or brush our teeth there in the morning so we just left.

Docked one star due to lack of espresso machine in their restaurant. Drip coffee is not coffee. Pls get an espresso machine. Otherwise, this hotel has the best staff, nice sized super clean rooms, comfy beds pillows and has zero musty smells in public areas. Kudos to their housekeeping!

The hotel was quiet and the room was spacious. There seemed to be some wear/tear on the room. It could do with a little refresh. Bathroom sink had to be run for about 20 minutes when we arrived to get "clear" water. My husband said it was probably pipe rust discoloring the water due to inactivity. Also the shower was difficult to use and took longer than normal to heat up. Staff was fine but did not go out of their way to make us feel welcome. All in all, fine hotel. Nothing special.

All in all, was a great stay. The only thing we did not care for was the fact that the bathroom door could not lock and was glass. In mixed company and with kids made it difficult to feel comfortable taking showers or using the toilet. Some of the furniture showed signs of wear, but beds were comfortable with quality sheets.

Upon checking in - it took about 8-10 minutes to complete the process but the lady didn’t provide a map of the area (I had to ask someone else the next day if they had one), she wouldn’t have told me about the shuttle service until I asked if I can take a copy of the schedule. She also didn’t even say where the pick up would be etc. The water pressure in the room is extremely weak and barely had warm water - we even kept the shower on for 10 minutes to try and it get warmer. That is unacceptable.

Overall it was acceptable. My main complaints are that the shower had no grab bars. It also had only half a glass partition and no door?! The water from the shower would make a mess on the floor. I wish I had taken a photo to illustrate the stupidity. As for grab bars, all hotel showers should have grab bars, not just special mobility/accessible rooms. My other complaint is regarding the HVAC system. The room has it's own ac/heating unit that you can control. Unfortunately it is loud and annoying! It works well to keep the room comfortable but will wake you up if you leave it on at night when it cycles on and off. These two issues will make me reconsider any future stays at a Wyndham and ask questions about those issues at other hotels.

King bed was California king on king platform. There was a hard wood floor but no area rugs. Bathroom door didn't close and had no lock. No dresser to store clothes. No blackout curtains. Shower had no pressure and no door. There was no hot water in the morning for showering. The TV took forever to change channels and was blurry. Checked out a day early.

Dislike: no furniture in rooms, just beds and a very small closet. You have to live out of your suitcases. I was told by the manager that all rooms are this way ..... STUPID!!

Title: Poor Service with a few notable exceptions. Stayed 4 days and left quite disappointed. Only a few staff were friendly; most made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Food service was slow, and the food itself was about a 3.5/10. The overall vibe was unwelcoming. Newport has plenty of better options—wouldn’t stay here again until standards improve.

Great stay at Wyndham Newport. I highly recommend this hotel is super clean and the staff were all so pleasant. Beds were also comfortable. In room fridge is always a plus too. I booked this hotel especially for the shuttle it made it easy to get into downtown Newport you didn't have to worry about finding parking, time constraints, or paying for parking. Making it a stress free vacation with shuttle from 9am -9:30pm most days. The drivers were all so nice and loved giving tips on what to see, where to eat, and answer any "tourist" questions. I'd definitely stay again. 😊

This was the second time we have stayed at the Wyndham. The property is nice, clean, quiet. There is a nice outdoor bar and dining area and the food is good. The housekeeping staff is terrific. They have a shuttle van to take you into Newport center which is convenient as parking can be tough in town. I found the front desk staff kind of flat. Not once did anyone say good morning or any sort of greeting as we came and went. Overall a nice facility.

First night was fine but second night had people yelling and screaming in the hall way from the wedding that was happening and this was at 1am so much for a relaxing stay. What upset me more was when checking out I mentioned it no sorry or compassion the desk response was you should have joined them, are you kidding me this is how your staff handles issues. I realize you make more money from wedding groups but I paid a good amount for comfort and utilized your restaurant a couple of times. Very disappointed with the staff reaction and the way you allow everyone to be affected by unruly wedding guests

Great location. Shuttle drivers were amazing- they went above and beyond to make sure everyone got to and from the hotel, even if it meant coming right back after dropping off passengers. Having a shuttle come every hour, every half hour in the evening/weekend, was so great. Rooms were clean- I saw the cleaning crew clean neighboring rooms and was so impressed with how well they were doing it. Amenities are great, restaurant is delicious, and staff was friendly. We booked on Expedia for two nights and then the hotel website for a night when Expedia sold out of rooms. The front desk made sure that was a seamless transition between the two reservations.The pool is in a great spot too. Will definitely be back again!!

This was an excellent location for us while we attended our son's wedding at Newport Vineyards, and the rehearsal dinner the night before at Diego's Middletown. The front desk staff was helpful in getting us checked in a little earlier that the 3:00 check-in time. The room was pleasant, and very clean throughout the hotel. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Dining Room manager, Jill, was exceptional. She was pleasant, friendly and helpful.

Hotel is right outside of the center of town (7-10 min by car). Easton beach is walkable from the hotel. You. Can access The 2nd and 3rd beach by bike if you wanted to. Cliff walk within walking distance. There are not that many options for places to eat but we tried Diego’s Barrio Cantina (Taco’s = very good) and Flo’s Clam Shack = very busy during lunch, seafood menu. Hotel has transportation to and from downtown, almost every hour on the hour. Overall we were pleasantly surprised with hotel an location.

We had a very comfortable stay here. It is a little outside of Newport proper, so it was more affordable than the hotels in the downtown area. However, considering downtown was only about 15 minutes away, it was a great location for our needs.

Perfect location for a Newport visit without being downtown. The shuttle service is a huge plus. Restaurants in the area are walkable (1/2 mile) as well the beach and Cliff walk. Room was good, bed comfortable and good water pressure in the shower. Would stay here again.

Excellent stay - will book here again. Perfect family vacation just outside of downtown Newport. Closer to the beaches, free shuttle to and from downtown, super friendly and accommodating staff, clean spacious rooms (2 kings!), good food on premises and overall great vibe.

Quiet, the food for lunch and dinner was very good; except, the breakfast. It was overpriced and horrible! As family of 5 spent 90 dlls plus tips. 2 of my children dis not eat except frosted flakes. The eggs were blah, pancakes chewy, bacon almost burned.

The shuttle is the best thing that this hotel invested in to accommodate its guests. Good was fair for breakfast. Coffee costs $4 downstairs. No free coffee other than what is in the room.
