There were so many places on property to eat, enjoy drinks, entertainment for everyone & great service on the beach with umbrellas and chairs. Hotel is clean, fun, family or couple trips. And so many pools to choose from at both properties. We had a great time and would recommend and go back!

Lots of food choices between both sister resorts, but they do not stay open late. Bed were very comfortable. We would stay here again. Resort has lots to offer for activities. Parking lot flooded due to torrential rain.

Lots of construction. Room needs updated furniture. Elevator was wonky, didn’t always open on the floor you choose. Pools were clean, beach chair and umbrella included, live music and activities are fun. Excellent for kids and teens.

Elevator didn’t work, I was on 5th fl. air in room was down had to wait for maintenance, contractors still working on building so it was loud, water pressure in a drinking bubbler is stronger than pressure in shower, there is a 25 dollar fee per night to park there during your stay , smells moldy in rooms and I upgraded to ocean view balcony!! Not happy about my stay for 750. For 2 nights

Per Tradewinds policies as posted on their website and as advertised on Expedia, cabanas and beach chairs and umbrellas are included in the $55 per day resort fee. When we got to the beach, we were told chairs and umbrellas are $15 a day, but cabanas are free. That is a dishonest business practice and goes AGAINST what is advertised. Also, by our 4th day, all cabanas had been removed from the beach, so we were forced to get a chair and an umbrella. We got to the beach at 9 am, but the only "free" chairs and umbrellas were in the last 2 rows. like what? where do your policies state that??? It was windy that day, so they had to take their umbrellas away around 12:30 for safety reasons. So no umbrellas, and there were no cabanas even though next door resorts had cabanas. We were exposed to wind and sun all day long - no shade offered. This was terrible! The main reason why we picked this resort was that all beach accessories were included - I didn't want to pay extra, and I did not want to carry them to and from. It was clearly stated on Expedia, and they confirmed it over the phone when I called before making reservations. Deceiving and dishonest business!

It was a fun place to stay. The location was great and was easy to get a chair on the beach. They had most of the property back in great shape after last year's hurricanes. The only thing was that 2 of the 4 elevators were not working making long waits if you wanted to use them. Was not a huge deal since we used the stairs since we were only on the 4th floor.

The room was gross. My toilet didn't work for a majority of the stay. We came for my grandmas memorial was supposed to be a nice family stay. Instead we over paid for a POS hotel that barley had towels. The staff spoke no English . Our room was dirty. $400 deposit for a room that smelled like mold . Not a damn thing was worth $100 in that room.

Totally honest review here…. This is NOT a luxury resort! Not yet anyway. The entire first floor is still under renovations. The smells of old musty stale water (or mold) linger up through the vents as well as when you walk by the rooms with open doors. They are working daily. So the sounds of construction begin promptly each morning with earlier sounds of workers getting dropped off and assembling. The bathroom fixtures in our room were not good, the toilet had rings, not sure if stained or not cleaned before our arrival. The towel bar was falling off the wall and the floor divider was rusted. The floors were so dirty that my socks were black after 4 days. The positives: location, location, location! The beach was beautiful, once you walk past the construction workers stationed near the beach access. The restaurant was amazing and ability to use amenities was nice….however, not all available during our visit. Oh, not all elevators work, be sure to ask which ones work so you can park accordingly and same for ice machines!

The beach & pool area are the highlight of the property. The Bar/Restaurant are also great. Rooms are very dated, and cleanliness was disappointing. There were beard shaving around the sink when we first checked in and some kind of paw prints all over the bathroom floor and one of the comforters.

Our room was small- bathroom was extremely tiny- and although the main areas of the room were clean there was dust in the vents, corners and around the perimeter of each room. We noticed people without wrist bands and without room keys for the gates swimming in the pools, they talked about being locals, so it seemed they knew staff did not police the grounds to ensure only paying guests used the amenities. This was troubling because I even saw a guy ride up on a bike, walk throughout the parking lot and jump back on his bike; he looked nefarious because of this behavior

Room was okay; we had toilet issues and it took over 4 hours for someone to fix it due to issues aether other property. Every night it rained which is very typical in South Florida.. The property used satellite and could not watch tv because when it trains there is no satellite. Had a friend come visit for about 3 hours and it cost $25 to park. Had a fire emergency at 4 45 am and never saw a staff member during the hour we were standing in the garage parking lot. Just disappointed with the entire property. We were "compensated" with 2 free drink coupons for the plumbing issues. Probably will not retutn to this property.

This property is starting to show its age. A lot of things need attention that can’t be blamed on the hurricanes. The amenity fee plus parking fee makes staying here overpriced for what you get. The rooms are small and paper thin walls. We listened to a screaming kid every time the family next to us was in their room.

The resort itself was great for kids and fun night vibes for the kiddos around the pool area. Good dining options at hotel and beautiful calm beach. Good , fun restaurants nearby walking distance. Rooms are outdated . Our air conditioner worked off and on. Blew out cold air half the time and hot air the other half making the nights uncomfortable. We had no light on our bathroom mirror - which meant no light at all to get ready etc .. as that was the only light option for that area. Called 4 times to get that fixed. Finally someone came and said they needed to talk to the manager to get a new mirror…never heard back and never got resolved. Room service was just ok. Hardly made the beds. Never enough towels were left for us to shower. Bathroom was a shoebox .

Beautiful property, we had the gulf view twin queen. Small room, but functional with surprisingly outfitted galley kitchen. Site had been damaged from hurricanes, but is certainly an older resort. It could use a face lift, and elevators that move faster than snails on tranquilizers.

Staff was friendly. Room was adequate. We had a gulf front room which was nice, but there were a few big unattractive trees (not palm trees) between the pool area and the ocean. We could hear the music from the pool area when we had our balcony doors open which was awesome until we realized that it was the same exact songs every single day. Also, could not check out on the tv as stated. Had to go to the front desk to check out. Wifi worked well

It has a lot of fun activities for every age. The staff was very friendly and the Rum Fish Grill has awesome food with great atmosphere. The huge fish tanks are impressive. The gym and room could use some updates. Some areas were under construction from the last hurricane.

If you are thinking about staying at Rumfish/Tradewinds.....DON'T!! Starting with check-in, we were not able to get into our room until 5:30 pm even though check in is at 4:00. Once in the room, the "air conditioner" was extremely loud, the room was damp and it smelled musty. The AC was never able to keep up and the room always smelled. Day 2 revealed that the kitchenette sink leaks and the water trap is installed incorrectly so there is also a sewer smell. This is not a 4 star hotel, 2.5 stars, maybe. The pictures of the room on expedia must be at least 10 years old because the overall condition is not as expected. With a couple exceptions the staff is not friendly, informed or helpful. The bartender in the Rumfish Grille was more interested in washing glasses than mixing us overpriced drinks. I know this sounds like a lot of complaining, but this place is bad. Read the recent other negative reviews. We stay in St. Pete Beach every year. We have had great stays at The Beachcomber and Dolphin Beach. Unfortunately they are both under construction. We are praying for the Beachcomber to be open soon.

We stayed July 26-Aug 1. Without going in to to many details, Daniel at the front desk came through big for me and my family. 1st room we were sent to had no working AC. Over 100 in room! Needless to say, Daniel went above and beyond. We ended up absolutely loving our other room! That made our vacation so much better. We loved all the pools and things to do. We swam in 5 pools and went down the slide. Had smores a couple of times as well. All of the workers were so friendly! Bartenders at Gulfside were very helpful and friendly as well. Almost zero complaints. If i had 1 or 2 it would be menu choices need to be better. What is on the menu was all great. Just not many choices at Gulfside. 2nd would be size of the main pool beach front. Pretty small and all of them get very busy. Other than that, our stay was relaxing and we enjoyed everything about it. The grounds are beautiful too!!

Overall terrible experience. No one ever answers the front desk. Hotel smells, dirty, ongoing construction, unorganized. Changed rooms Booked the hotel with Expedia and got charged by the hotel as well. Now trying to figure this out with Expedia. Staff was extremely nice in person. That’s it.

The area was gorgeous with lots of activities during the week...really the only thing I had an issue with is that they didn't have wash clothes or very few. The staff that cleaned the rooms didn't speak very much English so it was hard to communicate what you needed. Also there was so many things included in ur stay but nothing was explained to you. Pretty much had to figure it out yourself. I figured it out by my last 2 days there because of other visitors. Other than that, my family and I had a great time!

The staff was amazing throughout the property. Reagan who works at the pool for breakfast as a server is efficient and very nice. Grounds of the property were kept clean every day in the morning when I would walk through the hallway someone was always cleaning. When you check in when you arrive, you get a glass of Prosecco upon arrival. What an awesome stay!

Beautiful location on a baby powder white sand beach. Rumfish resort is intimate and quaint while the sister island grand resort has better pools, giant slide and facilities. There were some buildings and restaurants closed due to recovery from recent hurricane damage but what was open was nice and having no crowds there more than made up for it as everything was easy to do with no crowds.

Room was upgraded since I am a travel agent to nice oceanfront room. Staff was excellent, accommodating and very personable and welcoming. Only bad experience was dinner at Gulfside Kitchen. Both food and staff was subpar. Horrible experience, definitely would not recommend

It was a nice place to stay. Our room was clean. The service at the restaurant outside was very slow but the eaitress on the beach helped us once. Most of the time we had to go order ourselves. The piol area could havr been bigger and unless you went at 7am and claimed your chair with a towel, you couldn't get one. I didn't like that half of the pool loungers were empty most of the day but cla I med with people's towels.The chairs and umbrellas on the beach were nice.

Restaurant service the first night was not great. It was about an hour before closing so they didn't seem to want us there. The beach was great. The pools were fine. The bar near the pool was fun. The cleaning staff worked hard. It appears they are still recovering from the hurricane. We would stay there again.

Staff was very friendly and helpful; enjoyed getting to know some of them! Gorgeous beach and nice amenities. Rooms were average but the wet bar/mini kitchen was wonderful. Appreciated Sun Runner and Freebee ride options so rental car was not necessary. Gulfside had wonderful breakfasts; RumFish Grille dinner was a bit disappointing but there are SO many wonderful local dining options! Overall very happy with our week at RumFish Beach at TradeWinds - even though we had cooler than average temps.

The staff is very nice, helpful and usually in a good mood. The facilities are a bit rundown in some parts (not all) but nothing major. The beach is right in front, there are cabanas to use, clean towels every day... It is fine for a beach holiday. The pool-side restaurant would benefit from having a slightly wider choice and use less salt :)
