Laundry, patio, pool, and gym were all closed with no opening date posted. My unit had a broken window on the ground floor. Renovations were tasteful and the kitchen was in working order. Kitchen had NO utensils, plates, pots/pans, etc. If you are looking for a basic hotel and are not going to use the amenities, this is a good location with great staff.

The rooms and hotel itself are clean, beds were comfortable, staff friendly, and the price was right. There are lots of restaurant options nearby which was on of the reasons I selected this hotel. This is a budget hotel, so don't expect lots of extras. There is no longer an exercise room and the pool has been filled in. So disregard old photos showing those amenities.

Laundry and ice machines didn’t work in the entire hotel. Wanted to check in 30 minutes early, figured I would ask but was told no because I would have to be charged extra. Ok cool, I understand. Checked in later and a worker told me that what the real deal was the previous lady just didn’t want to check us in because she was about to leave for her other job. The new lady said she would have done it but she wasn’t checked in and didn’t want to unless she was paid for it. I could have gone without knowing all of that. When we were checking out, the same lady who actually checked is in was complaining about how her replacement hasn’t come in yet. Again, I understand, but do I really need to know that? Found bugs in the tub/shower, loose tile on the bathroom floor. Beds were comfy though, and so were the pillows

The bed was super comfortable & the staff were very nice too. Sadly though I could hear the shower in the next room and certain louder cars driving by at night as well. The black out curtain shade didn't do its job really well. Its been remodeled which is nice but the paint job was not professional. Sadly the pool is filled in and the fitness center was closed. Overall is was okay.

The room reeked of mold and mildew. Everyone woke up with headaches and congestion. The breakfast was very poor. We ate a 7:00 and barely anything left and no sign of refilling. Eggs were rubbery. No water for guests.

The beds were fine and the staff at the front desk was nice and friendly. However, the cleanliness was lacking. There was a dirty sock beside one of the beds. There was nail polish on the closet door. Paint was peeling in several places. The worst part was that one of the pillows had something orange all over it. It actually looked like blood. So we started looking at all the linens, and one of the comforters had a red stain on it. We called the front desk, and she replaced everything, but it still just felt gross to know that the cleaning staff was that negligent.

The pool is filled in with concrete. The countertops and the door in the bathroom are coming apart. All the lights and outlets do work, but the housekeeping clearly did not pay attention to detail cleaning the room. There were hairballs everywhere, a dirty comb on the floor, and the shower had not been cleaned. We also found a couple bugs (not beg bugs) on the bed. They advertised free breakfast, but did not actually offer any breakfast besides coffee.

Overall the appearance was nice but numerous carpet stains noticeable throughout the hallways and room. The beds had fresh clean linens, and there were multiple clean towels available in the bathroom. The television remote would not change channels, it would only turn the TV on and off.

They were all so welcoming. The manager that works in the morning (I’m sorry can’t remember his name) was quite lovely as well. It’s rare to find a group of people that really care about their jobs!!! Oh and the cleaning staff were amazing also!!! Very helpful and always saying good morning. The owner sure is lucky!!! If I could poach them I would!! I will be back! Thanks again!!

The room was very nice, however, it needed some attention. The door jamb from the hallway to the bathroom was missing half of the floor jam. The bathroom door was screwed together because somebody had broken into it while somebody was in there. And the security device to keep the door to the room shut and protect the occupants was broken off. For an individual traveling by themselves I cannot imagine them feeling very safe in this room. Overall everything was absolutely beautiful, but I feel that attention to details needed especially in our room, 318, to make this stay an incredible one.

Room was run down and no WiFi. Not told about it. When I called to ask what was up, she told me that I signed a paper stating so. This was the make of car, license plate form you sign. I told her that was very sneaky and underhanded. Also, you could barely hear the tv on max volume. Room 303.

The staff was friendly but there were a few things wrong with the property/room. The mini fridge didn’t work, the elevator didn’t work from the ground floor to go up, the A/C didn’t work past 9pm, and the carpet underneath the Ac Unit was soaked so it felt ugly to walk on

Your privacy and safety will be in jeopardy at this hotel. At 8am Saturday morning we got a knock on our door, mind you the privacy sign was up, this was our first morning there and we were tired from traveling the night before. Before I even had adequate time to open the door the door was opened from the outside by an older gentleman. He asked me if we needed anything which I thought was strange considering the time and the fact that our sign was up. I also was with my husband who is a veteran with rated combat PTSD so this was a triggering situation for him. I took my concerns to the man working the front desk and basically he told me it’s routine for them to knock on all doors regardless of the privacy signs on the doors, called it a “win-lose” situation. Well I’ll never again stay at a hotel where I, the guest, will be put in any “lose” situation. Ruined what should have been a relaxing trip visiting our Air Force son.

I have made a reservation for this property via Expedia that I needed to move one night up. Mid week, hotel half empty. The hotel front desk refused to accommodate my travel date change both in person as well as through Expedia customer service desk and is trying to keep the money that I paid for both nights. This hotel is happy to take your money for service they did not provide, despite the fact that we actually did stay with them. They are in business to provide travel service with no regard for unforced travel plan changes and do not value you. Stay away & choose a property that understands the word hospitality.

No staff support, they weren't even present. Waited over half an hour to check in and to check out and then no one to attend the phone there was no one. They charged be an extra $25 on top of all other fees they had. But those they didn't want to refund it telling me that it was a part of their fees. Not right.

All three workers I dealt with were wonderful. I had an issue with the manager more than anything. I had tried shortening my trip by one day off the end and was asking for clarification on pricing. Understandably the manager had a family obligation come up. Although in the mean time that pushed me out of the 'change window'. When booking there was only a cancellation window so that's confusing. After talking multiple times with the front desk and them taking down messages for the manager to call me, no response was ever received. I had paid at the hotel and not online. When I was checking in and out(early) I had even asked to shorten the trip by a day off the end. I was told it would require manager approval and such. Overall the stay was fine, the regular front desk were helpful, manager was a problem.

My husband and I stayed at Big Country Hotel & Suites in Abilene for a week while visiting our grandchildren! The front desk staff (Debbie and Kelly) were very friendly, kind and made us feel sooo welcome! After checking into our room there was a problem and as soon as we called Debbie she immediately put us in another room....we were thrilled and extremely grateful that she upgraded our room!! I inquired with Kelly if there were more hangers and the next day she brought me a bag full of hangers from her house! The housekeeping staff ladies were gracious and accommodating. The location was very accessible to stores and restaurants. The property is close to the road, however the noise was hardly noticeable. The renovations are very tasteful and nearly complete. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room décor and furnishings are lovely. It will be wonderful to have the breakfast area up and running. We look forward to our next stay here!

I inquired with Kelly if there were more hangers and the next day she brought me a bag full of hangers from her house! The housekeeping staff ladies were gracious and accommodating. The location was very accessible to stores and restaurants. The property is close to the road, however the noise was hardly noticeable. The renovations are very tasteful and nearly complete. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room décor and furnishings are lovely. It will be wonderful to have the breakfast area up and running. We look forward to our next stay here!

Our stay was very good. Even the building is in construction and we knew that. Place was quiet. People at the desk were very nice. Many stores around that was great for us to eat and shop during our stay. We definitely we could stay there again. Thank you.

The hotel advertised a pool and fitness center, but a lot of the hotel is in construction. The room was nice, no coffee makers in the rooms the entry door to the room needed adjusting, hard to open and close. Breakfast was out fruit and no breakfast sausage or bacon??? Pricing is okay with no pool or fitness center.

The staff were great! The property is a little outdated you can tell they remodeled and paint job is not great. But beds were comfy and clean. Get to breakfast early because they ran out of sausage by the time I got there.

Our stay was overall okay. The price was excellent compared to other listings in same area. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. TV volume was very low at the highest setting so inconvenient for my husband who is has a hearing loss. The ice machine was not working on msin level or on floor 3-only on floor 2. Room did not have a coffee maker, but machines by foyer on main floor at breakfast bar area. Breakfast however was really poor. They ran out of eggs and there was not other options like other experienced hotel stays like waffles, hashbrowns, biscuits, gravy, brown sugar for oatmeal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, breakfast bars, etc. We were left with only cereal and toast option. Staff was very friendly and apologetic. They had a pool, but it was filled in with concrete; fitness room closed; guest laundry closed as well. Perhaps new ownership? Or they are working on getting the facility up and going better so may want to call to inquire about updates before booking.

I chose this hotel partly because it had a breakfast. Friday morning the dining room was crowded with lots of people that I don't think were staying there and there was no food left. On Saturday I got down there before 8:30 and again -- no eggs or sausage left and the help will not put out more.

The bed was super comfortable & the staff were very nice too. Sadly though I could hear the shower in the next room and certain louder cars driving by at night as well. The black out curtain shade didn't do its job really well. Its been remodeled which is nice but the paint job was not professional. Sadly the pool is filled in and the fitness center was closed. Overall is was okay.

There were AC issues during our entire stay, with broken ceiling tiles and leaking pipes on the first floor. The breakfast was very limited.
