The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spa Cancun

The registration staff (Oscar D & Dennise T) were awesome. Oscar was able to change our room from one that was next to noisy air conditioning next door hotel to a beautiful 3rd floor room that was quiet and had a nice view of the beach and ocean. The baggage handlers were efficient and very friendly! The property was extremely beautiful especially the 2 endless pools. I would definitely rate this resort a 9.5, and hope to return soon! The only negative was upon arrival, I had to sit with concierge to hear about timeshare purchase interest. I was on vacation and didn’t want to talk about purchasing anything other than food and drinks and excursions.

Gorgeous property, pools were stunning. Heated pools open 7:00 AM-10:00 PM, multiple hot tubs that stayed open 24/7. Breakfast buffet was small but tons of fresh fruit and bakery and you could order stuff not on buffet but also included. Dinner food not great but tons of restaurants within 2 minutes walking. Drinks were good, staff amazing and friendly and our 1 BR suite was very nice and offered some separation from the kids at night. Overall great vacation and would stay again. Not all inclusive but not terrible bring a tumbler and buy a bottle from duty free on the way in! Drinks by pool were $9-$14 not terrible. Affordable lunch served poolside or right to your cabana on the beach.

Loved this property. Amazing beach and the pool was awesome. Beautiful views from the Infiniti edge and my kids enjoyed the slide. Directly across the street is a huge shopping mall that has a ton of shopping and a boardwalk on the lagoon with a bunch of restaurants, just walk across the street . Highly recommend.

Everything as expected. Very big pool to rest and where you can get drinks directly in the water. Beach was full of sargasses expect in the morning. All good with the amnesties.

We really enjoyed this resort as a family. The studio might be a little small sized (stated 4), but it was really well equiped with a small stove, fridge, microwave oven, dish washing machine and even a washer-dryer combo machine for our cloths. We even went shopping to a near supermarket (Soriana) for breakfast basics we we had our own snacks, water and cooked bkfst fot the kids. We did not use the hotel restaurants to meet our budget, so I cannot speak about them. The bathroom was clean and spacious, included a hidrojet bathtub and a separate shower. Very nice sea view from.the room balcony, the pools were really large, well maintained and nice. Usef the pool side bar a couple times... happy hour from 3 to 4 pm 😀 Beach areas very nice as well, the sea draft was a little high but we could still get in and enjoy it... breath taking sea view and water color... so beatiful... "La isla" is a large open mall, just across the avenue from the hotel (2 min walk) with a bunch of options to eat and buy other stuff if that is your thing. Personnel from the hotel was great, every request we had was solved quiclky and efficiently (even a washing machine quick repair was done within 1 hour). Our elevator was out of order a couple of times, but was it. No big deal. We took the stairs. Great place to stay, will definitely come back in the future if we are lucky enough to go to Cancun again... regards!

Great place to stay, staff is super friendly and helpful. The pools stay open till 10pm, they have 3 large pools, including one with a slide. Daily activities for guests to enjoy.

This resort is one of a kind in hotel zone due to convenient location, wonderful staff, transportation and value for the money. The major mall La Isla is across the street with lots of chic restaurants, ice cream, Mc Donald's and shopping. Also, ferris wheel is located in the mall. The resort has beautiful gigantic pools with infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Our studio was quite comfortable with a large bathroom and jacuzzi tub. The staff was very helpful and Kary provided some great information about the area, weather and getting around on arrival. The list of pluses is going on and on. Will 100% stay in the resort if I return to Cancun next time.

The property and staff were great. Very clean and easy to get around. The beach is one of the best we have experienced in Cancun. The downfall was access to loungers. During our 5 day stay, we never got a chair poolside and the latest we went down to the pool was 9:30 am. It was very disappointing. We did get chairs on the sand on the beach, but there were a few very windy days that made it uncomfortable to sit on the beach.

The property is not clean and very humid inside the room. We had to change the room becuase of the smell in it.

Very nice, very convenient and very clean. The suite was very much up to date and very roomy. Nice selection of restaurants and a convenience store on site. Also close to shopping areas.

En pésimas condiciones estaba infestado de cucarachas, nada que ver a lo que te ofrecen en la app, que vista al mar es una ventana grande y no se alcanza ver nada, luego el personal no te demuestran ningún tipo de educación, pésima experiencia, no nos permitían el acceso al hotel, ademas te retienen el depósito, pero no lo regresan.

The hotel is nicely located. The personnel is very responsive but not always sofisticate. My bathroom was full of cockroaches and it took two days to have it sprayed with disinfectants

The hotel and grounds are beautiful but the walls are SO THIN. Heard everything outside and in the room next to me. Had a hard time sleeping until late due to the noise

hotel is as it is described, fairly new in feel. We booked two rooms that were adjoining and it was plenty of room for five people. The kitchen is well stocked and has a large refrigerator. Service was very good, although I think they need another person or two at each pool as the cycle times seemed long in the chair service. It was not too difficult to get a chair. Unlike many other resorts I have stayed at, which was nice. Both pool areas were large. All the food we had was good or very good, although somewhat expensive, but maybe what you should expect in Cancun. Property is located across the street from a large mall with multiple outdoor restaurants. The only negative is the room they put us in. We booked an ocean view and I would say at best it would be called a partial view on the third floor, there were enormous trees, blocking 3/4 of the ocean view. What was worse is that we were directly next to the hotel next-door and their three very large, enormous rooftop air conditioners that were extremely loud and running 24 hours a day. We simply could not go on the balcony because we could not hear each other talk. The building we were in is 1300 and you should avoid at all costs. It is the worst location of all. I was disappointed because as a VIP member of Hotels.com, I expect that they would put us in a better location. They said they could not do anything to change the room.

Beautiful place on the beach. Big swimming pools although not deep, max 120cms. Rooms are well equipped and really comfortable. Washer and dryer work really well. Kitchen is wonderful, fridge/freezer are very big. No complaints

Quasiment aucune animation. Prix des Restaurants (incluant celui de la piscine) assez chers. Si vous voulez boire un café ailleurs que dans votre chambre, vous devez aller l’acheter dans le starbuks situé dans le mini market de l’hotel pas possible d’avoir un café autour de la piscine ou la plage)

I did not like that I booked a ocean view and they gave me a dumpster view and I had to spend hours for them to change me rooms, in the new room I got a statin blank with white gloomy

The rooms are fine, air con tends to be freezing cold but they’re perfectly comfortable and well supplied with towels and toiletries. The room attendants are good. The hotel feels a little tired and the restaurants and bars aren’t great. Staff are really friendly and service is good. They’re slightly aggressive on trying to get you to buy a timeshare which can get a little annoying

Everything is great except for the beds. Way to soft. Had to sleep on sofa bed. Ended up flipping the mattress over and it was much better. Staff are awesome, pool is great, food decent but expensive. Nice to have washer and dryer in the room.

We lost our first day and we're continually bothered throughout our stay by staff for sales. Our concierge even went so far as to say please, this is her livelyhood. I don't go on vacation, spend my hard earned money so you can try to make me feel guilty. This place didn't make you feel like you were on vacation. It was over the top. On our last night there, they even shoved brochures under our door. We were happy to leave.

From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Every team member we encountered — from the front desk to housekeeping and the concierge — was friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. They were always ready with a smile, quick to offer assistance, and full of helpful recommendations. It’s clear that customer service is a top priority here, and it truly made a difference in our stay. Looking forward to coming back soon !!!!!!!

Incredible resort with the most breathtaking pool, however…don’t expect to check in on time. You won’t get your room for a couple hours after their already late check-in time (we and many others were stuck in the lobby til 6), and yet you have to check out at 10AM. Furthermore, when they check you in, they pass you off to a “special concierge”…you feel special, right? Wrong. They’re just there to pepper you with up-sales, hectoring you to do this weird cult meeting with their sales people. It’s really off-putting, and throughout your stay, that “concierge” will haunt you if you walk through the lobby, badgering you to go to the cult sales meeting. It’s really bizarre. Hotel does a decent job of preventing the old folks from claiming pool chairs at 6AM with a book and not coming back til 2…after 45 mins, they’ll clear your stuff. However, there aren’t nearly as many loungers as there are guests, so if you don’t claim your spot by 9AM, you’re relegated to pool purgatory. Rooms are great, pool is great, food is very mediocre, beach area is great, grocery mart is great with an in-house Starbucks, gym is small, but good. Definitely a great place, all of the staff except the creepy concierges are great.

Took my adult children for a Nov 25 week trip to Cancun - their first Resort experience. The Westin was making repairs to the front portico when we arrived, so missed the big WOW on entry. Inside the place was amazing. The staff top notch. We had a small hickup with a shower gel falling off the wall and tearing off a fingernail on our first day, but other than that, great experience. My daughter talked to the Oceania staff about Green Chorizo (what is it, where can they taste some) on the second day, and the sourced it from Tulum to make for her for breakfast! Amazing service, listening and remembering each person. Just fabulous. Daniel, our personal concierge, worked with me in the weeks before we arrived to ensure my requested food and welcome gifts were in the rooms for the kids when we arrived. Again, amazing service. Definately going back!

When you think of a vacation in Cancun the Westin is the spot. Friendly staff. Easily accessible to public transport if you want to go explore the city and if you’re not into that, hang out by the pool with poolside service.

Staff was very friendly and there’s dining options across the street in the high end mall.

Reservation was compromised due to protest, and their management was unwilling to accommodate our request for a refund or credit to use at a later date. Their inflexibility for unforeseen circumstances that could compromise their guests stay reflects poor leadership of the hotel.

Check in is too slow. Check out is also too slow. Concierge used to be so pushy offering you different promos and also they made room calls for that. The housekeeper open my room even when the “do not disturb signal” was at the door.. totally a disaster.

Conveniently located across the street from La Isla shopping area.

Directly across the street from a beautiful shopping mall with premium shopping and lots of nice restaurants, walked a few blocks after sundown and felt perfectly safe. Would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at The Westin Lagunamar. Its close to several restaurants and the shopping mall across the street was convenient with several options for entertainment

We loved our stay. The hotel’s location was premium with La Isla mall right across with various quality shopping and dining alternatives. It was also about 20 minutes from the airport. The gorgeous Cancun sandy beach was just a step outside the hotel. The pools (with the exact right temperature) especially the infinity pool was one of a kind. The pool and the blue hues of ocean view from our room was dreamy both in daylight and at night. The staff were all so kind and helpful and always had beautiful smiles on their face. We arrived early in the morning and the conceirge was very kind to provide us with an early check-in. The room had everything you could possibly ask for during your stay from Ensuite washer and dryer to a fully furnished kitchen with all sorts of appliances. The bed could be a little bit more enhanced to be more comfortable maybe. There was a sofa bed in the room with built-in outlets. The buffet breakfast was really good with beautiful seats facing open shutters into the hotel outdoor nature. Ordering food to your lounger both by the pool and on the beach was very convenient and great. Our MTS shuttle from and to the airport was just great too. All in all it was a very unique experience as it proves nothing can reset your mind and broaden your horizon as much as travelling.

Location is so convenient. Amenities are amazing and the people are so friendly. I would definitely recommend this resort. Perfect for a family vacation.

Everything was excellent! Room was fantastic. Pools were amazing. Food and drinks at any restaurant on-site were good. The only reason for a good and not excellent was the fact it is a timeshare resort that we booked through Expedia, but are not interested in buying a timeshare and felt a few times like we had to listen to a speal about the timeshare because we were staying there.

Make drinks cheaper by the pool

We loved the pool and beach area. The swim up bar was great but the drinks were very sugary with little alcohol. Loved happy hour. We went to the buffet breakfast at Oceano and sat outside. No waiter approached us for 5-10 mins and we had to ask for silverware. Then we were given any instructions about where the food and drinks were located. Did not like the slow service at Oceano. The concierge was a little aggressive. We didn't want to sit through the presentation and they contacted me every day. Loved the walking distance to La Isla. Room service was great and the market store and Starbucks.

We had a good stay. I will say that it was disappointing that there were no nice restaurants. For a property this size it was incredibly surprising that there was no place to eat dinner that served other than hamburgers and fast food types of cuisine. The property is absolutely beautiful And the people that work there are nice and helpful. I wish I had known before we went that there would be a push, although not a huge one, to purchase a timeshare there. We were actually afraid to meet with the concierge, because it was clear that she was really a sales person for their timeshare business. That said, it was a delightful stay and there are wonderful restaurants within walking distance. The valet’s were incredibly helpful.

We're waiting for more than 10 minutes for server no one's asking for drinks so we decide to find other restaurants across from there this happens in dunas restaurant
