Location was great. Building is old. I hate elevators, there is only one. It was out of order on our way out so we had to carry our luggage down the stairs. Grateful it didn’t break while we were in it. Parking was great! Staff was friendly and our room was very clean!

Our room and the entire property was very clean. The bed was comfortable. There were plenty of nice amenities. There were a few options for breakfast and all were delicious. The best part was sitting in the rockers on the expansive front porch! We had coffee on the porch in the morning and wine in the evening. I would definitely come back to this hotel.

This location is clean and quiet. We stayed on the second floor which is a walk up so if you can’t do stairs this place may not be for you. The ai staff service was a nice touch. The hotel is also conveniently located to most of the sights and attractions. I would definitely stay here again

Sparkling gem of a place! Staff is above and beyond. Safe. Quiet. ALL the personal touches! Walkable - on site self service laundry- 24/7 Coffee, tea, hot coco etc. Breakfast is amazing with a really wide and delicious variety. Already booked for next May!

Loved the convenient location of this property in Bar Harbor - we were able to walk easily to restaurants and the waterfront. Staff were super friendly and our room was spotless, and very quiet. My son enjoyed a dip in the pool at the end of each day after exploring Acadia. The hotel had umbrellas for use, which came in handy one rainy morning. They also set up a make your own trail mix station one morning which my son loved. Breakfast was outstanding with lots of options which rotated and staff kept it well stocked and clean throughout the morning. Highly recommend!

The property is in a great location and is walking distance to a variety of shops and dining. Loved the coffee shop across the street. Rooms were nice and beds very comfortable. My only complaint is that the building we were in did not have an elevator and we had to carry our large, heavy bags up a flight of stairs. If you were in the main building there was an elevator and you could also access our building on the 3rd floor through a breezeway.

Fantastic hotel - within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Staff were superb- very helpful. Organised our pass to Arcadia National park. Free parking, laundry facilities and a great breakfast including lots of gluten free choices ( also a seperate toaster for GF items showing they understand the health issues coeliacs face if food is cross contaminated- the only hotel I’ve seen this level of care on our travels !) The room was spotless and spacious with a very comfortable bed. We loved Bar Harbor - lots of great restaurants-especially Geddys and Gaylins - definitely not Blaze !!! The only thing I didn’t like was the plastic cups plates and cutlery for breakfast - I understand this was needed post Covid but it feels like it’s not very eco friendly and the knives tended to snap as we were using them to butter toast etc ! Overall we loved this hotel and Bar Harbor and will definitely return- highly recommended.

My section of hotel didn’t have elevator and the door from outside was always open….. anyone from street could enter the hotel. Yikes. Aside from that the bed wasn’t as comfortable for me, but it was clean for the most part. I think the cleaning lady need to have her hair up because she left A LOT of hair everywhere. I don’t have dark brown hair.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. We would stay here anytime. Friendly staff, very clean hotel, large and very comfortable room in a fantastic location. A short walk to the waterfront, surrounded by restaurants, shopping and activities. Very close to several Acadia entrances. Coffee 24/7 and an outstanding included breakfast. We were able to utilize laundry facilities half way through our 2.5 week travels while staying here. We really cannot say enough!

The hotel is well located in Bar Harbor with lots of restaurants and shops around. It is easy to explore Acadia National Park from there. The hotel looks old but well maintained and comfortable. There was an odd small in the room but other than that, everything was fine.

Beautiful, clean, fantastic front desk service. Flavored water and amazing cookies available in lobby all day! Room was super comfortable and spotlessly clean. Conveniently located right in the middle of Main Street shops. Wish we could stay here for a week, LOVE this place!

We were looking for a nice, convenient hotel in the heart of Bar Harbor for our one night stay before heading to Nova Scotia on the ferry. From The Bar Harbor Grand, everything is walkable which is so convenient during the busy summer months. The rooms are large, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast in the AM is an added bonus. It is a nice treat to stay here and will do so again in the future.

This hotel was a great surprise! We stayed at several hotels/inns on our trip down the Maine Coast, and this was by far the best one. Great location so we could walk to everything in Bar Harbor. The room was spacious and felt updated. The beds were very comfortable, and it was really quiet, even with the hotel being fully booked. Never heard our neighbors. My husband also appreciated the ceiling fan in the room. We used the laundry room once during our stay. It’s $4.00 per load (washer + dryer), and the front desk can exchange cash for quarters. Just plan on doing small loads because we did a larger load and the clothes were not dry after one dryer cycle. We only ate the free breakfast once, and it was just ok. Nice that it’s offered at all, so I’m not complaining. Would absolutely recommend this hotel!

Check in was seamless. Neil was very friendly, knowledgeable about the local attractions, and was really nice to my young traveler. Alecia was kind during checkout. Room was classically styled and fit the esthetics of the area. Only issue was the bathroom. I believe it was handicap accessible. The shower continuously leaked water into the floor. Had to use excessive towels to prevent the leak.

Staff were helpful and the front desk had great information. The breakfast was always good with many options. I loved the 24 hr coffee with all of my favorite fixings. Our stay was very comfortable and the location cannot be beat. I recommend this great hotel.

Bar Harbor Grand Hotel had such an inviting but also regal feel to it. The breakfast was outstanding. The gentleman running the breakfast hours went above and beyond and you could tell how hard of a worker he is. Definitely takes pride in his work and cannot say enough how wonderful he was. The only hiccup we had was upon check-in. The lady checking us in tried to pawn our check in process onto a gentleman. The room we were given was lovely, but someone smoked in it. The front desk was quick to arrange another room but denied that anyone smoked in the original one (it was extremely strong, and the room under it didn't smell at all). Bar Harbor Grand Hotel had such an inviting but also regal feel to it. The breakfast was outstanding. The gentleman running the breakfast hours went above and beyond and you could tell how hard of a worker he is. Definitely takes pride in his work and cannot say enough how wonderful he was. The only hiccup we had was upon check-in. The lady checking us in tried to pawn our check in process onto a gentleman. The room we were given was lovely, but someone smoked in it. The front desk was quick to arrange another room but denied that anyone smoked in the original one (it was extremely strong, and the room under it didn't smell at all). This property was so beautiful and the staff are just amazing. Neil check this in and was so polite and pleasant and just a joy to meet. The other little girl who was at the front desk was just so pleasant as well. I didn't catch her name. Joshua who was at breakfast each morning is absolutely an asset. He is so friendly and so professional and so courteous. We love him! Anytime we spoke to someone at the front desk they were nice to us. Very clean rooms. Very nice breakfast. Very nice staff.

The Bar Harbor Grand was the perfect place for our stay. I was traveling with my sister and both of our husbands (kid-free trip), but there were a few families there with children who seemed to be enjoying themselves as well. The free breakfast in the morning was lively with the wait staff being very bubbly and attentive and we had fun conversations with other guests too. Eggs were served every morning along with biscuits, fruit, oatmeal, sourdough bread (my favorite) and all the juice, tea and coffee you could want (coffee and tea being available 24/7). The people behind the counter when we checked in, and then every morning after, were welcoming and always asking us how our stay was going, quick to answer any questions and offered travel and food suggestions. It felt more personal than staying at a big chain hotel, but had all the amenities of a big chain hotel. Parking was really easy and the hotel is walkable to just about most things in Bar Harbor: shops, restaurants, sightseeing. It's just a few minutes drive to get into Acadia and we also loved how close it was to the sandbar which is walkable during low tide and not to be missed! Oddly the only strange thing we could say about the hotel is that there seemed to be a female manager, tall and thin wearing a blazer, who occasionally zipped in and out of the eating area or stairwell and she was the least friendly person there. Everyone else was absolutely warm and welcoming the whole time! Luckily we only saw her twice.

The check-in was a great experience and they let us know everything we could need. Each kid was given a stuffed animal when we got there. Breakfast each day was exactly what we needed to get the day started. The rooms were quiet and clean. Literally everything was fantastic.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. We would stay here anytime. Friendly staff, very clean hotel, large and very comfortable room in a fantastic location. A short walk to the waterfront, surrounded by restaurants, shopping and activities. Very close to several Acadia entrances. Coffee 24/7 and an outstanding included breakfast. We were able to utilize laundry facilities half way through our 2.5 week travels while staying here. We really cannot say enough!

This hotel is conveniently located on the main street of Bar Harbor. Breakfast was good with hot entrees, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee cakes, hot and cold cereals, juices, coffee and teas. Our king bed was comfortable, but the side chair was uncomfortable. Each day we received chocolates. Please note that many businesses, museums and locations in town and Acadia didn't open until 5/15 or later. There was free parking in town until that date.

Liked its close proximity to Bar Harbour stores, restaurants and the obvious Acadia National Park! No in room microwave. The buffet area was a bit small. We were all basically shoulder to shoulder which made breakfast not very enjoyable… Create to areas or expand to have more space to enjoy breakfast..These are minor issues that can be adjusted.. 4.34 our of 5 ..

This hotel was a great surprise! We stayed at several hotels/inns on our trip down the Maine Coast, and this was by far the best one. Great location so we could walk to everything in Bar Harbor. The room was spacious and felt updated. The beds were very comfortable, and it was really quiet, even with the hotel being fully booked. Never heard our neighbors. My husband also appreciated the ceiling fan in the room. We used the laundry room once during our stay. It’s $4.00 per load (washer + dryer), and the front desk can exchange cash for quarters. Just plan on doing small loads because we did a larger load and the clothes were not dry after one dryer cycle. We only ate the free breakfast once, and it was just ok. Nice that it’s offered at all, so I’m not complaining. Would absolutely recommend this hotel!

Check-in was a very pleasant experience. The lady was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. All areas of the hotel were immaculate and the decor was very inviting. Our room was huge, and tastefully decorated. The hotel was very quiet. The breakfast was very good with many options. There was plenty of parking. The hotel was in a very safe area. I would definitely stay here again. I would also highly recommend Bar Harbor Grand Hotel to everyone.

Fantastic hotel - within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Staff were superb- very helpful. Organised our pass to Arcadia National park. Free parking, laundry facilities and a great breakfast including lots of gluten free choices ( also a seperate toaster for GF items showing they understand the health issues coeliacs face if food is cross contaminated- the only hotel I’ve seen this level of care on our travels !) The room was spotless and spacious with a very comfortable bed. We loved Bar Harbor - lots of great restaurants-especially Geddys and Gaylins - definitely not Blaze !!! The only thing I didn’t like was the plastic cups plates and cutlery for breakfast - I understand this was needed post Covid but it feels like it’s not very eco friendly and the knives tended to snap as we were using them to butter toast etc ! The hotel is very clean and the breakfast was good. The location is good in that it is right in the middle of the downtown area, which means you really don’t have to drive your car if you don’t want to. Parking is great. I wouldn’t call the hotel charming… it was completely fine. We wish we had paid a bit more attention and stayed where there was some view of the ocean. Our view was of the parking lot.
