We had a twin room with an ensuite, which was clean, but some features felt very dated, especially the wardrobe and carpet. The beds were comfortable, though. Unfortunately, we found it quite noisy. It wasn’t just the building work outside you could hear people walking past due to creaky floorboards, and the noise from the room above sounded like a herd of elephants, even with earplugs in. Breakfast was included, but we were told at check-in that it was only a continental breakfast, not a cooked one. That said, it was decent for what it was. The staff were very helpful and friendly, which was a definite plus. Overall, the building feels quite dated, but the location is excellent very close to the town centre and the new theatre, all within walking distance. There’s also a car park just a minute away, costing £12.50 per day.
