Be aware that the hotel has bizarre Chinese showers that require a PhD in shower management to operate. Also the breakfast staff has trouble communicating with the kitchen staff. Otherwise okay hotel

The pool was small and was untidy with discarded towels around the side. The shower in the pool area had a large clump of hair on the shampoo dispenser. At the time of our visit, there was a wedding party and the bar staff were more interested in serving the gentleman at the bar. After getting my order wrong, I was told my order would be brought to my table. It wasn't so I returned to the bar. I was told I would have to wait until the "other" people at the bar were served. The "hot" items from the breakfast buffet were luke warm and when requesting a pot of tea for two, we received tea for one, on both Mornings. The air conditioning in the room didn't work.

Nice room overlooking the garden towards the river, first floor with balcony and table and chairs, nice rain shower and products but we were v grateful for the toothpaste/kits at reception as we’d left ours and for the late checkout. Decent tea/coffee/biscuits in the room All the staff we spoke with at reception and breakfast were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent- great fresh fruits in particular and toast-/avocado. Some of the grounds need care and attention - I’m all for rewilding but the space isn’t being managed properly ;and a sign for the footpath to the river would have been useful! Front of the property is well maintained - beautiful roses. Didn’t have time to use the gym or pool unfortunately; seems dog and child friendly so would hope to visit again in future. We did have a nice walk along the Thames path to Iffley and watched the rowing.

Absolutely love this place. Second stay here and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Emily at front desk goes over and beyond to help with anything we ask. Rooms are clean, bed sleeps great, AC works great, rare find worth staying. Close to the bus stop for travel into the city. Spacious parking. Only regret is we didn’t stay longer.
