Significant Service Failures - Not What You'd Expect from Marriott I booked multiple rooms to host out-of-town guests for the weekend. What followed was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I've had in years of global travel as a Marriott Lifetime Gold Elite member. Three significant failures: 1. Repeated key card failures - Guest room keys stopped working multiple times throughout the stay, leaving guests stranded outside their rooms for over an hour each time awaiting resolution. The most egregious instance: I had to personally drive to the hotel at 3am during a storm to physically let a guest into a room I had pre-paid and pre-authorized them on - because the front desk could not resolve it remotely. 2. Check-in delays - The check-in process was slow and disorganized, creating a poor first impression for my guests who had traveled specifically for this occasion. 3. Unclean room at arrival — After an extended wait to check in, one guest walked into their room to find leftover food from the previous occupant still present. Basic housekeeping standards were not met. When I raised issues with the front desk, I received no accountability, no apology, and no resolution just like a used car salesman. I have stayed at Marriott properties across the world and have never encountered this level of service failure. This property fell significantly short of the Marriott brand standard and more importantly, it let down guests I was personally responsible for hosting.
