Family and I had a great stay. We attended a wedding at monterey beach station and it was super convenient walking distance. Pool was heated. Parking felt a bit like a tight squeeze but overall everything was great!

I stayed here with my 5 year old daughter and it was absolutely perfect! It is so clean and quaint with beautiful foliage. It has a beautiful heated pool with a fountain and a hot tub with lots of seating and tables around the pool and a sitting area under trees and lights fire pits. The rooms don’t have AC but they do provide a fan. They also have a microwave and fridge. The absolute best part of all by far though was the location. I parked my car and never got back in the enter trip. It’s a short distance to old fisherman’s wharf and not much further to fisherman’s wharf and then if you follow the path along the water you’ll end up at cannery row! We also loved that the beach was right across the street and enjoyed kayaking there. And best of all my daughter loved that it was just across the street from Dennis the menace park, which is an absolute must if you’re traveling with kids. Lastly, the staff were all very friendly. We will definitely be staying here again for our future Monterey trips!

Liked that our room had a designated parking space right in front of our room and a patio with seating out the back slider door. Also liked that they had fire pit areas with outdoor patio furniture, but didn't like that we couldn't use the fire pits after 10pm. We were still able to sit out there, but it was cold.

Room was clean and decent. Property details said Heated Pool, but somewhere in fine print that I only saw later was a stmt that Pool is closed. There was a cheaper property avail w/ a pool, but not heated, so I jad picked this one. Pricy for what is offered with no heated pool.

My family arrived in the evening for a two night stay at the Monterey Bay Lodge for my daughters birthday. Pros: - Economical - Pool is clean and enjoyable for kids - Close to the beach, local park and coffee shops - Patio/Balcony is a nice add Cons: - Close to the local airport, extremely loud - Parking lot closes to the gas station is too small, very hard to get in and out. - Rooms are small - Floors very dirty, we had to clean it when we arrived. - Bathroom paint was chipping - TV is mounted way too high - Desk chair does not tuck under the desk and sticks out into the room. - No public bathroom for the pool - No cushions on the outdoor furniture during the month of November.

The room standard is not much higher than cheaper motels, but it is okay. What makes the difference is a swimming pool with heated water and a hot tub, as well as great location - close to the beach, a lake, and a playground. My family spent a nice time there.

Our 2nd trip to this hotel and we will probably be back. Close to the beach and the wharf. Super comfy bed and pillows. Friendly staff. Pool and hot tub were under repair, but the hotel let us know ahead of time. One of the fire pits stopped working while we were there, staff did their best to fix. Really liked the sugars and creamers for the coffee service instead of those wasteful packets. 3 suggestions, get rid of the individual shampoo bottles to be more eco friendly, refill coffee and creamers daily, and be sure to clean behind the bathroom door…

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was very clean and quiet. We enjoyed being just steps from the beach and easy access to Monterey Bay aquarium, old fisherman‘s wharf, Carmel, etc. The swimming pool and spa area were very nice, and we also enjoyed the fire pit area as well. There was no air-conditioning that I know of, so I especially enjoyed the sliding glass door that provided great fresh air, opened up the space and lead out to a veranda with seating that overlooked the pool/spa area. whenever we had request, the staff were very obliging and quick to respond. Overall, we had a great time!

Their cable service was out from the 22-27th, we weren’t told about this when we reserved the room, so no TV. Hair all over the bathroom. And hair all over the blow dryer. Both nights people were fighting in the next room until 3 am. No A/C with 2 fans in the room. Two creamers were empty but put back where the coffee pot was.

My room when first entering had bugs on the comforter, little gnats. The room smelled like death and was so stuffy and also smelled like mold. Toilet didn’t flush right when I arrived. The tv wouldn’t connect to the internet network so couldn’t watch tv. The tub had rust stains that looked like vomit/poo stain. The worker Susan was so rude and kept pressuring me to stay even though I refused. Worst hotel experience ever and so nasty!

Cafe was being remodeled, so it was closed. This wasn\'t advertised. Room was clean but bed was lopsided/uncomfortable. The shower pressure was very poor, which made washing hair of any length near impossible. Also, the "balcony" is a common balcony in back of the rooms. Zero privacy. That and noise from the pool makes it highly unenjoyable for sitting and relaxing. Also did not see that advertised.

Conveniently located to the Aquarium, but next to a gas station and a busy road. Also, there is no air conditioning, and your sliding door opens onto the building's walkway, so you can't sleep with the door open.

Dated hotel but in an excellent location for a reasonable cost with excellent service. So if you don’t want to spend a bundle and don’t mind dated accommodations to be close to Fisherman’s Wharf, this Lodge is for you.

Fantastic stay! I was very happy with the location - walkable to attractions (including a great walking path, park, and beach access), convenient, and safe. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Parking was easy. Not too noisy. The courtyard along with pool and hot tub was charming. Microwave, refrigerator, and coffee & tea in room were a nice perk. Very happy with this budget friendly property, and will return next time I'm in town.

I had several issues with my stay that could have been resolved if the front office staff was on top of their game. To start off, I called and requested a non-pet friendly room due to my allergies. My accommodation request fell through the cracks as we were given the wrong room. On the last day of our stay, two other guests entered our room while we were sleeping. My initial reaction was fear and then confusion set in. After this happened we got up, walked to the front desk and learned that our room had showed as "vacant" so the front desk people issued additional keys to our room to the other guests. Mind you, the other guests already had issues with their previous room which is why they requested a room change to begin with. Those guests checked out immediately after the incident, and we did too.

The older lady from the front desk was very rude. I did not understand why she was so upset that my husband did not wait in the driveway for instructions before he went to park. Her facial expression was so rude, shaking her head and all that. I confronted her right then there. Asked her why does she have to be so upset about it because my husband can just easily park to the right parking area. She did not even apologize and just rushed giving us the keycards. We loved the place and enjoyed the pool. But with that type of service, we cant go back. That lady shoul be trained proper customer service because if she continues doing that, its bad for your business.

The water pressure for the shower is good, but the faucet pressure is weak. They will nickel and dime you on the charges. Check in time is 4pm and we got there at 3pm. The still charged us $30. for early check-in. They are pet friendly, but they charge $40. per pet. These charges add up. Overall, nice lodge, and would stay here again.

It was an amazing stay. I loved the hotel. They have nice outdoor seating and have a small pool to hang out by. I thought the hotel rooms were nice and clean and really enjoyed my stay here. Front desk lady was super nice!

Location was excellent. Right across from the beach. Super accessible and away from the pier and wharf. Right next to a gas station so it's not your destination if you're looking for a view, but it was impeccably clean and convenient. Would definitely stay there again.

I stayed here with my 5 year old daughter and it was absolutely perfect! It is so clean and quaint with beautiful foliage. It has a beautiful heated pool with a fountain and a hot tub with lots of seating and tables around the pool and a sitting area under trees and lights fire pits. The rooms don’t have AC but they do provide a fan. They also have a microwave and fridge. The absolute best part of all by far though was the location. I parked my car and never got back in the enter trip. It’s a short distance to old fisherman’s wharf and not much further to fisherman’s wharf and then if you follow the path along the water you’ll end up at cannery row! We also loved that the beach was right across the street and enjoyed kayaking there. And best of all my daughter loved that it was just across the street from Dennis the menace park, which is an absolute must if you’re traveling with kids. Lastly, the staff were all very friendly. We will definitely be staying here again for our future Monterey trips!

Very quaint, clean and quiet. We loved the fireplace outside in the courtyard by the pool. Loved the tree in the courtyard and all the hanging lanterns as well. Walking distance to several resturants. It was a gem we stumbled upon at the last minute while traveling the coast. We would definitely come back.

Room was clean, staff were professional. Location is close to wharf and a very nice park. However, when I initially booked room the website said they had a heated pool and breakfast was included. When we checked in we noticed pool was empty, staff said it was temporarily closed. We asked where breakfast was to be set-up and was told they no longer had breakfast. We informed them the website was misleading. Website has since been updated.

The location was great for sightseeing Cannery Row and the wharf. The room was clean and bed comfortable and had descent amenities. However...the bathroom door stuck to the point I thought I might have to spend my stay in there! There was no cafe or food available due to remodeling though our booking site did not mention it. Both the beverage and snack machines were out of order. I would only consider going back if certain all these problems were fixed.

The grounds are great. Pool kept in the 90 degree range, hot tub open till late, heated seating areas in the evening. Nearest food place is MacDonalds, alas, but one can always drive. Location - an easy walk to fishermen's wharf.

Wish I had more time at this lodge. Found this last minute while booking on our PCH drive. Super cute. Friendly staff. Didn’t get to take advantage of the pool and fire pit…we were super tired but did walk from lodge to restaurants and beach.

Cafe was being remodeled, so it was closed. This wasn\'t advertised. Room was clean but bed was lopsided/uncomfortable. The shower pressure was very poor, which made washing hair of any length near impossible. Also, the "balcony" is a common balcony in back of the rooms. Zero privacy. That and noise from the pool makes it highly unenjoyable for sitting and relaxing. Also did not see that advertised.

Charming inn on the north side of Monterey. Whoever chose the mattress/ linen/ pillows need a raise! It’s the most comfortable sleep I had on my 10 day trip. Heated pool, jacuzzi on premises. I will be back!
