The Somerset House was a lovely hotel. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom was very nice. Good hot shower and the room was serviced. The food for breakfast was really good. We had family join us for breakfast and they were very impressed. The only negatives were the very limited parking on the streets nearby and the fact that the room had a small wardrobe but no luggage rack or anything else so we had bags suitcase and shoes just laying around the room. More storage would have been nice. Overall though excellent and very quiet. We will stay again we we are next visiting Southsea.

The hotel was very clean large room very nice stay. only negative was charged 3 50 for bottle of water which could have been out of tap not a sealed top. And was a bit far out from main town

Lovely 2 night stay at Somerset House. Excellent Breakfast across the road in Florence House, this did not cause us a problem. Plenty of Restaurants about a 8 min walk for our evening meal. Hotel was clean and staff friendly.

I was disappointed at the lack of "extras", which I had expected for the price I paid. This was booked as a surprise for my husband, and was expecting more of a " wow", which was embarrassing. The room was pleasant, but not worth the high price, I\'m sorry to say. The pillows were hard and lumpy, and the beverage selection quite poor, with only sachets of coffee and milk. This doesn\'t make me happy to leave negative comments, but as this was supposed to be a special trip, I feel I need to have my say.

A really well run hotel with character in a pleasant part of Southsea. Whilst the structure of the buildings poses some constraints the staff and management overcome this with a great work ethic and service standard. I would look forward to staying again when visiting Portsmouth. :-)
