Although clearly still finishing up the work, the newly renovated Hampton was lovely and comfortable. When the lobby and bar are complete, it should be an even better place to stay. The rooms are modern and the walk-in shower was great feature.

The hotel is being renovated. I was there for only 1 night; they gave me a room by the elevator and the ice dispenser machine; it was very noisy. I had hard time to sleep due to foot traffic and the noise coming from the elevator and the ice dispenser. The bed was comfortable but 3 of the 4 bath towels they left in the bathroom had stains on them.The hotel manager advised me to report my situation to Expedia since I booked my reservation through a 3rd party. Parking can be an issue because the parking space is shared by two hotels.

There was a popcorn machine in the lobby, but it was completely out of popcorn and kernels. The employees never refilled it but rather removed it for the rest of our stay. The room itself was average. We spotted cockroaches in the bathroom, however. The breakfast was good. Sausages were above average and the waffles were really good. Nice that they have whipped cream, oreo crumbs, sprinkles, and other toppings.

Hampton Inn usually has a higher quality of cleanliness, but this one did not have the same quality level. Also, it was obvious that someone was in our room while we were away even though we had the do not disturb sign on the door. The breakfast was minimal with old fruit and the food looked cheap and not fresh.

The hotel was clean and the staff extremely friendly/accommodating. The TV in our room however was internet based (apparently different from other rooms) and either didn't work at all or was so difficult to navigate it wasn't worth spending time on it. Also, the water in the shower was lukewarm at best and chilly most of the time. In addition, it seemed very loud as though there was no sound insulation between floors; we could hear people in the bathroom above :/. But again, the staff was delightful and everything was extremely clean!

The room was recently renovated but the mattress was not replaced and was quite uncomfortable. To lock the door, I had to slam it shut. The front desk receptionist explained that the gasket in the door frame was incorrect and needed replacement. This was a security concern. Otherwise, it is a very nice hotel in a convenient location.

We had a good stay. Room and bathroom were nice. Staff was pleasant to talk with. For a newer hotel found it a little noisy. Maybe because of some of the rude people slamming doors and running hallway. The toilet flushing or people coughing, talking of the room next to us, well thats a design flaw.

Nice comfy bed. Heater would not work properly kept blowing cold air. Also the water temp in the shower was set very liw luke warm with max on. Only there for a short time so didnt bother management.

Hotel was under construction. They were working very late and very early. Very very noisy. It sounded like they were hammering in our room. The boy working at the front desk was very rude. Went to the desk for help and he was outside smoking. Twice! I had a reservation for three nights. After the first night I tried to cancel because of this bad experience but they would not let me. Not a happy guest

We have stayed in Hampton Inn & Suites in different locations with excellent experiences. So our expectations were high. However, our expectations were not met. The rooms are only cleaned every other day so our trash was overflowing and we were out of coffee supplies. In addition, the swimming pool was supposed to be opened by 9 am. When we asked about it a few minutes before 9 we were told it would only be opened at exactly 9. We waited till 9:30 and it still was not opened. When we asked again the person at the desk said she was the only one working and was not free to open it at that time. That is not acceptable. Part of the fee we pay is for the facilities and if the facilities are not available then we should be reimbursed for not getting access to all facilities.

When we checked in, although the lady at the front was pleasant, she asked for my last name, handed me the room key and didn’t say anything else. Also when we got to the room, the cable wasn’t working properly. I called down to see if someone could come fix it and she stated no one was there to help but she would see and then never called me back. Not major but could have handled it a little better. I also asked for a receipt to be emailed and never got it. I liked that breakfast was included and it was very clean.

They would not let me check in without my physical ID, even though I had my work ID, a picture of my drivers license and an email from DMV showing that I requested a new one (misplaced my old one). I have stayed here a bunch of times in the past since work in the neighborhood but live 1.5 hrs away. I won’t be staying again.

Checked in for a 5 day stay. Found out late evening on our 2nd night that we would have no water for most of the next day when we returned to hotel and saw a note in the elevator. Note was then modified the next day to include an additional day. We could not get a straight answer on why we weren\'t notified upon check-in so we could explore options and modify our schedules. Front staff was courteous but kept deferring to "upper management" when any questions were asked. When front desk finally contacted "upper management", I was told that a room adjustment ($, not points) for the two days was "above their pay grade". I asked front desk and left detailed note on two consecutive days to have someone contact me to discuss a discounted room for the inconvenience. Crickets.

Terrible check in. Even if systems were down and we couldn’t be checked in officially, calling the room at 1:30 in the morning, multiple times, to insist that I come down with a credit card (the system was now up) was unbelievable.

The Hampton Inn Glenside is our go-to hotel when visiting relatives in Richmond. Rooms are clean, plenty of parking. It's also close to freeways. The Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is just up the street, it's fabulous. The staff at the Hampton are all friendly and helpful. We'll stay there again.

I can’t say it wasn’t clean or comfortable. What I can say is my breakfast consisted of toast both days (wasn’t informed of the “renovations” limiting breakfast) and they booked my 7 year old and I, who were on a long trip and were exhausted in a room on top of someone’s sweet 16 going on downstairs, and the bass made our room shake like it was getting beat with hammers. Be sure to check that they don’t book you in that room on top of the teen club and make sure they didn’t take out the hot breakfast for some reason I’m not sure of (it didn’t look like they were renovating the breakfast area, just the front desk), and I guess you’re fine. We received no word on any of this in advance. Really unexpected from Hampton Inn.

Disappointed that the hotel was under renovation and we were not informed. I understand this must be done, but honesty means I am an informed customer, and without it, why should I trust your brand? This includes only advertising the reduced breakfast menu! We paid for the full menu, hot food options, and were VERY disappointed. Again, why should I trust you in the future when you didn't trust me enough to let me know about the reduction in service?
