Older property in need of a spruce up but still comfortable and a good stay

Very old property in need of some serious renovation. There was dust all around my room, got sick from it upon my return home. Do not stay here!!

Great front desk personel. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms and fun pool.

Check in was smooth and quick. Staff was friendly, pool was nice, and breakfast was awesome. I'll be back.

The facility was great. However, the real star of the show was Gerald, the gentleman who checked us in. He was very professional, and seems like a professional comedian. Gerald, if you don’t have a social media and YouTube presence, start one!

Property is under renovation, but the new look is very nice. Staff is extremely warm. Rooms are spacious and look out over Louisiana Downs race track.

If you want to stay in this area near the raceway and casino do not stay here. You will be much happier at the Comfort Inn next door if you care about cleanliness and hospitality. My family of 8 arrived to the Holiday Inn to find out our rooms had been downgraded due to a flooding issue. I simply wanted the difference in pricing to be refunded. I was told to talk to Expedia about this. Expedia told me they couldn’t issue a refund without approval from the hotel. The general manager Kelli declined my request with Expedia. I then contacted Kelly to discuss her denial. After pointing out her rudeness in the way she was speaking and acknowledging one could also be rude she hung up on the call. We decided to pack up end our stay to get the remainder of our nights refunded. I have never ended a hotel stay early due to bad management. The only reason I gave this hotel any stars on service was because a very kind gentleman Jay working the front desk was very supportive in hearing our concerns and did what he had authority to do to help us out. This property needs a new hospitality manager because Kelli definitely did not make us feel that.

When we arrived the shower had not been cleaned. Contacted the front desk about it and the lack of linens. He informed us that he was the only one here and could not refund us because we booked through hotels.com nor could we switch rooms because they are full. We traveled in from Texas so trying to find another hotel on a Friday night with two kids was out of the question. My wife went to the front desk to pickup the extra linens then we went to the store for cleaning supplies for the shower. The hotel is under construction also, heavy smell of paint on the 3rd floor. Never again! Sometimes you have to make do under the circumstances that you’re dealt but I’ll never set foot in another Holiday Inn!

Eva at the front desk was amazing!! Not alot of parking because of full bookings and she helped me get a spot.

The property was under construction but honestly it did not affect our stay! The staff more than made up for any slight inconvenience of construction with excellent hospitality and kindness!

The place seemed extremely safe and clean. The AC was awesome. Cooled the room down well on 96 degree day.

Filthy, poorly maintained, unappealing breakfast.

I reserved a room to accommodate 5 people. The pull out couch had a hole in it. All kinds of stains on the mattress. Plus no sheets or pillow cases. We had to put the pull out bed back and just sleep on the couch itself. Very uncomfortable.

This room suffered from wear.

Great staff! Hotel shower is a bit dated and the diverter didn't work so well but otherwise all was good.

conveniently close to the racetrack and an excellent restaurant next door so you never have to even get out on the road. They even let us check in super early so we would't miss the horse races.

I liked everything except the breakfast. Saturday mornings breakfast was cold. The foold eas not warm, even though it was in the warming trays. They also served link and pattie dausage. There was not bacon. We felt that was strange. I have stayed at othe holiday inn express and their breakfast was much better.

The staff was very nice & polite. There wasn't hot water for shower. The cleaners came in our room even though requested not too. Front office was very nice & apologetic. The breakfast was not good, but the staff did what they could with equipment they had

We stayed for my grandsons baseball games. Most of the teams were there. The breakfast was perfect for everyone. She did a great job of keeping everyting clean and stocked. Everyone was so helpful.

Not worth it. Problems with bedding, keys, TV did not work, sink backed up, no hot breakfast left at 9:00 AM, no hot coffee, way overpriced, terrible experience.
