Hive Cancun by G Hotels

Amazing rooms and a lovely spa (Sauna, Steam Room, Cold Pool and Gym). We found the food to be fine but not great. We stayed in a room with a private rooftop pool and it was a wonderful experience. I would stay again but would like to see more food options on the menu and better food overall.

Well to start, It’s not in a great part of town and the traffic noise is constant. Then the first day they ran out of caffeinated coffee for the rooms so I had to get dressed and go to the restaurant to get coffee in the morning. Fortunately it’s next door to a 7-11. The dining area is open air so if it rains (which it did most late afternoons) you can’t use it. The pool is small and faces south (I think) so the sun never really shines around the pool. The staff is very nice but there was a struggle with some communications as their English was about as good as my Spanish. Over all I think there are better places for the money.

The staff were so friendly, anything we needed they were attentive. We also got our room upgraded for free with its own pool and a 7/11 nearby was such a convenience. The only disappointment was that they were renovating the forth floor so most amenities weren’t available.

My room was clean but had a disgusting smell to it, I had to purchase a candle to light. Bathroom walls need to be repainted, they were noticibly dirty. The wood work is beautiful and shouldn't be overlooked nor overpowered by dirty walls or a smelly room. I'm not a fan of a black swimming pool. My 8 yr old was afraid to get in because she said it didn't look clean. In all fairness you could see the calcium build up in certain areas of the pool and hot tub. The owners should really consider changing the tiles. The pool and bar area itself, is lovely and that would make it more inviting. Breakfast was continental, so I expected that but it was still good. Check in and out was fast and all of the hotel staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The manager was very customer friendly and quickly resolved a small issue I had. That within itself made the stay more pleasant. And I appreciates that the most.

The sauna door was broken (due to a storm I was told) no access to the steam room or Temazcal apparently an extra fee managed by the Spa) never seen it used once not even by spa employees. They were off at all times. The jacuzzi worked great the first night then cold after that the last night it was a warm but not hot. A plus they do allow your own drinks and snacks at the jacuzzi/ pool area. There is a bar area on the first floor near the pool but drinks and food are pricey. One night they had live entertainment for one hour on the first floor near the pool area. They advertise a bar on the 4th floor but it's closed, there is a seating area. The Continental breakfast was only a small plate of fruit, coffee and or a glass of juice. Everything else was a extra charge. There is a 7/11 in the same parking lot, and a few places to eat and a karaoke bar within walking distance. Not close to the city so plan your transportation wisely.

The property is good, but most of the amenities (gym, spa, bar) are currently not in use, I guess its because of low patronage, the staff are moderately friendly, food is fair, some part of the building is still in construction.

It nice for a quick business trip. However the website states there is relaxing services like a spa, sauna and come to find out they actually domt offer any of that.

This property is not in the hotel zone/tourist areas of Cancun excellent for travelers seeking a true local experience. Excellent grocery stores nearby including Walmart, Aki, and Soriana - my favorite and open 24hrs. Airport is 10-20min. Free parking and taxis avsil. On site and next door offer shops, bars and restaurants. Suburban feel with urban amenities. All suite hotel with two floors: main level includes comfy bed, bathroom, very spacious closet, large smart TV, dining table/chairs, perfect sofa/coffee table with a fabulous balcony, bistro chairs/table. A wrap around stairwell leads to upper deck with ultra clean, spacious, plunge pool including two high-end sun loungers plus two VERY comfortable chairs with fluffy cushions. Plants and special lighting perfectly complement the space. Relaxing with a glass of wine, smooth jazz, while enjoying the city view and sounds was blissful. Property offers a restaurant/bar serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks with outdoor seating and inviting lounge with large-screen TV. The infinity pool, hot tub, and gym are amazing. Modern, recently constructed and well-maintained. Staff are friendly and take pride in serving guests. As a solo female traveler, i gelt very safe and rnjoyed my stay. My only request: FULLY stock the kitchenette with necessities incl coasters, mini spices. Espresso machine is nice but pod/coffee pot would be more appreciated by guests. Bar graciously provided ice while ice machine was under repair.

Expedia and this hotels website said they have an airport shuttle. I messaged the hotel inquiring about an airport shuttle one day before our arrival I received an automatic response that someone will be available to assist me soon. After no response in eight hours, A messaged again, same response. Then when we landed at the airport, I messaged them and tried to call them and only received an automatic message. We had to pay for an expensive cab. When we got to the hotel, they did not have a key for us because their software was down so only one of us could leave the room or we had to ask to be let back in. Warning the coffee pods are an additional three dollar charge per pod!!!! They only give you two one decaf one regular. Room was OK. The staff just seemed to be unable to do their job, maybe because of management… Huge water leak in the lobby. Also, it’s not that cheap so, why would anybody stay here?

Hive hotel is well located between airport and hotel area Rooms are very spacious, clean and quiet Easy access if you are driving Hotel was remodeling their main restaurant and were offering service in an improvised area by the pool serving food either in lower coffee tables and or under the sun Besides this issue with the restaurant, everything else was great!

The room was dirty, and we did not have face towels and shower gel. We requested an extra towel and were denied. The shower was filthy and converted to a lagoon, which was uncomfortable. The staff was not serviced and the gentleman at the reception was not very kind. We consider high probability not return and not recommend. The only positive thing was the juice and the continental breakfast was nice.

Very very dirty bathroom, floor and room in general. Even after room service came to clean it was still disgusting. I was traveling with my medical service animal and they still charged me a fee so they are not service animal friendly. Overpriced for the quality in my opinion.

Very sad this is a property that has the potential to be a luxury hotel. The design its amazing yet we needed to ask for a change of rooms since our bed sheets weren’t changed and the shower had balls of hair from previous guests The second room had clean sheets yet the floors were disgusting and bathroom dirty. Only one towel and bathrobe. My husband and I wore flip flops even to shower. Their response? “We are sorry and we will make sure next time you come (as if..) you have the cleanest must luxurious room” instead of just cleaning properly The head of cleaning came to the room and saw the state of both rooms. Very sad Make sure you TURN ON all lights on. Its pretty dark (no wonder) And their food service its terrible too This hotel is in need of a NEW knowledgeable manager. Clearly their current one doesn’t know how to run a clean good hotel Not worth the money

For a far cheaper alternative to staying on the hotel strip, Hive isn't bad. The rooms are very large and housekeeping is consistent. But, we were expecting a little more. The Hive website makes it out to be this lux spa hotel...but in reality we didn't see any yoga classes, and I believe the steam room & sauna cost extra and have to be booked in advance. We got minimal info/communication from the staff - for example, no grettings when we came and went from the hotel. We wandered around looking for breakfast without anyone asking us if we needed help. The breakfast included was a big factor for us, but turns out the breakfast was just toast, black coffee, fruit, and a mini croissant. The hotel is off of a busy main road so you do get quite a bit of street noise. The area is pretty industrial/suburban so limited things to do, but there are somw restaurants nearby. Ubers to the beach cost $15-20 USD and take ahout 25min. Overall, it was a fine experience without any issues.

We stayed for one night after we made a last minute change before our stay in Playa Del Carmen. It was just “ok” the room definitely was not clean as it should’ve been. There was hair on the sink as if someone shaved that wasn’t cleaned up. Dead bugs on the floor, the shower floor looked like it had water mildew and the shower head was not spraying well at all. The room smelled of mildew and there were no hand or wash cloths, only large towels. The service was great when we checked in. When we checked out they accused us of eating some chocolate from the minibar, which we did not. Just a weird exchange.

The roomkey system through an App is a hassle and doesn’t work well if internet connection is slow or irregular

There wifi doesn’t work in the rooms. It only works in the common areas. We complained about it and they said they are trying to make it work but nothing changed. Also the “continental breakfast” they offer has fruits and bread. That’s it. The property is really nice and fancy but there are certain shortcoming.

Overall, the stay at the Hive was good! We stayed in a luxury Suite with our own plunge pool. The room did not have a microwave. Also, the room could use a air vent in the bathroom, along with a pen and tablet by the telephone. If you are looking to do tours they will not pick you up at this Hotel as it is in a residential area. Uber is safe to use while getting around and a lot cheaper than taxis and Hotel shuttle.There are no local restaurants to walk to and eat (only Sushi place next door). I used uber eats, which was fast and convenient. There is a 7-11 on the corner that is open 24hrs.If I return back to Cancun I would definitely stay at this Hotel again!

Everything was okay but room took a long time to cool off. They definitely need to keep the ac on before you arrive

Great and safe location. Although very busy street room has its own door that keeps noise out. has kitchenette yet no microwave and fridge is for drinks only would have expected that due to kitchenette. Did not have room ready when arriving. When leaving they were attempting to charge me for additional items such as wine and food.

The property was nice, room was spacious, with a nice terrace. The bad is that the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from outside the busy traffic, the next door neighbors. Breakfast included is white toast, little fruit, coffee and juice. Barely meets continental. They also force you to download an app to access room and elevators.

Fatal la atención llegamos en la noche y la perosn del check in, la peor atención que me han dado. Pone VIP de expida y no saben en la recepción qué es eso.

El hotel está muy bien. Pero el servicio es muy malo. Ya que hay muy poco personal. No responden nunca. No había café nunca….

Upon arriving at the hotel, I was ignored at the front desk for about 15–20 minutes. It was a baffling experience—they showed no concern that I was waiting. I had to repeatedly approach them before they finally assisted me. The customer service was terrible. As an Expedia VIP, I was supposed to receive a food and beverage credit as well as a room upgrade. However, when I inquired about the credit, the staff had no idea what it was, and I never received it. Aside from the poor customer service, I only stayed for one night, and the hotel itself appeared to be in good condition with well-maintained rooms. Unfortunately, the negative customer service experience left a lasting impression.

Typical Cancún fashion. the check-in person tried to hustle me and my sister, 2 separate reservation, 15 us each , saying it was a mandatory Tax. When I showed him to pls show on the reservation where it stated that, he couldn't find it. Then he proceeded to want to show me on his own paperwork and failed. He then told me HE WOULD NOT accept my reservation. I asked for a manager and after 10 mins acting like he was on the phone and flipping thru his own paperwork work, he kept apologizing stating that before it was written on the contract. Beware! This is wrong and illegal!! Take care of this problem!

was shocked by what happened during my stay. The hotel gave another guest a key card to my room, and she actually entered while we were sleeping. It was frightening and completely unacceptable. When I went to the front desk, the staff member kept repeating “okay, okay” with no real concern. He only apologized once he realized I was holding him accountable for his mistake. This is a serious safety issue. Guests should never have to worry about strangers being given access to their room. I ultimately left and chose a hotel that prioritizes hospitality and safety, where security was taken seriously. The manager promised a partial refund but never followed through, which only confirmed how little accountability this hotel takes.

Everything, clean room, staff above and beyond. The greeting in the morning afternoon and at night. Would come back and stay here again.

The hotel room and facilities were fabulous and very reasonable, but an inconvenient location with limited transportation. However, Uber was reasonable enough to get downtown to public transportation or to the airport and tren maya.

Great location with lots of great restaurants and bars. A quick uber ride away.

Excellent but location too far from downtown

This is a really beautiful hotel, but it is far from most things in Cancun and if you are taking a tour, this might be out of the pickup range. If you have a car, I think it would be great. There is not much around but UberEats delivers, there is a 7-11 and a restaurant in the building. I honestly think just a tiny bit more effort during check out or a map of the space to let me know where things were...they mentioned a spa with good facilities but I never really knew where it was or when it was open. Breakfast was not great. The gem of this is really the private pool, for the price it's a beautiful space and you really can't beat it.

This place is very close to the airport and has shops nearby. However, it’s nowhere near the beach or any night life. If you have a car or don’t mind paying for taxis to take you pretty far… this place is great. By far the cleanest and most comfy place we have stayed in Cancun. We even stayed at a resort by the beach that was way more pricey and it wasn’t as comfy and clean as this place. And it helped to have the 7-11 right downstairs and plenty of free parking. The building is also pretty secure. I would stay here again. The biggest con is the check in staff. Kind of rude and took their time. It’s not a quick process to enter or leave. So plan accordingly.

Hotel needs work... broken doors, etc. The breakfast included was a joke.... a few pieces of fruit, horrible pastries and coffee, but no milk.

Realmente no es un hotel con VIP de Expedía, no hubo ningún tipo de amenidad especial, el desayuno continental que ofrecen es terrible… el café frío, el jugo de naranja dicen que es natural y realmente no es, las opciones de pan muy malas. Realmente prometen mucho y no cumplen.

Experiencia aceptable, podrian mejorar, son muy complicados con el desayuno, aunque en la pagina de Hoteles.com dice que esta incluido, pues no lo es, te dan unas rebanadas de pan, la fruta tienes que comer aunque no te guste. No es un desayuno, mejor quitarlo de la propuesta.

Bonne expérience au Hive Cancun. Chambre moderne et propre. Personnel sympathique. Le seul bémol est le petit déjeuner qui est très léger.

Quite nice, would stay again. Friendly staff and great AC. Mini fridge in room and balcony. Continental breakfast is very basic though, good quality but just fruit and bread, no protein unless you pay for a full breakfast on the menu. Beautiful pool area and hot tub

Es triste como este hotel está siendo arruinado por su pésimo servicio y atención al cliente. El recepcionista Alejandro nos arruinó la llegada con su sarcasmo y prepotencia. Te cobran 2000 pesos de depósito sin que esté estipulado. Las habitaciones con lámparas dañadas, con uso evidente no límpias. El check in largo y Complicado y el desayuno es un poco de fruta y pan Bimbo. Pésima atención en general. No lo recomiendo.
