This was the least expensive hotel I could find that had vacancies. I was so surprised with how clean it was how friendly the staff was and when I came back to my room, the next day I had had made service. I was not expecting that I would stay here again. It’s very basic but has a great indoor pool and sauna that I didn’t get to use. I was able to put all my food in the refrigerator and pack my lunches. I recommend this hotel if you’re not looking for luxury, but want something inexpensive and clean.

Good basic older updated motel, clean room, comfortable, microwave and refrigerator. Very busy night of stay so parking was tight but available, just not in front of room. Overall, good quality for the price. No breakfast, but that is typical for most Salida motels.

Laundry, towels, wash cloths were all old and well worn. Room was clean. Pool was clean and in good condition, for an older pool. Check-in was easy and quick. The stay was fine with no issues.

Great hotel right off of Hwy 50 in Salida. Room was spacious for the price. Beds were offset, so you felt almost as if you were in a suite. Nice large bathroom. TV, fridge, and microwave as well. Pool area was nice. Large pool and sauna. No hot tub, but the heated pool made up for that. FYI, no breakfast available, but that is noted all around property. Walking distance to many restaurants.

We got a suite at the end of the 2nd floor and the traffic noise woke my family up several times thoughout the night. I realize that was not entirely the motels fault. Unfortunately the room was not very clean The tub could us a good cleaning. There was ring left in the tub from the previous guests, soap scum on the wall and hair on the floor. Housekeeping had also left a dirty towel in the top of the closet.

You get what you pay for. Quality lodging is pretty expensive on the weekends in this mountain town. Unfortunately I have to come here 1-2 times a year for a state volunteer meeting of an organization I belong to. It’s atypical old, highway fronted motel with stained sinks & bathtubs (jetted). The towels were stained & thin. One bright spot was the floors were new. Carpet in one room & vinyl tile in the other. The AC worked pretty well & the indoor pool was very warm, but stained & old. Our key cards didn’t work each morning so we had to constantly have them reprogrammed.

Loud popping noises, couldn’t figure out where they were coming from. Squeaky floors, paper thin walls so the neighbor coughing sounded like it was in the room. Advertised HBO on the marquee, but there was limited stations and no HBO.

Does the job for some MTB bros from out of town needing a place to crash for a night. Only place last minute that had three beds (King & Two queens) i.e. a family suite. Older place, on the outside, old furniture on the inside. Beds were very firm, pillows very firm. Lots of towels were already provided. Motel style is great for bringing bikes into the room. Lots of road noise. Has a pool and sauna we didn’t use. But, hey, you get what you paid for.

Owners very attentive gave great recommendations for dinner, happy to help with any questions. Could not have been better. Could not find my Will stay again next time go through town!! medication called walmart 15 minutes Pryer to closing. In morning found medication they told me to cancel it no problem so I was t\\here when they opened, no problem!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The pool was a bonus, warm and relaxing, not cold like most hotel pools. It’s a not in the downtown area. I chose this hotel because it is a short walk to a coffee shop, a brewery, and the Hot Springs Aqua Center.

I am a senior lady traveling alone and felt very safe. The area was well lighted at night. The room (king) was quaint and more than satisfactory. The best part was the bed (and even the pillows). Not sure the brand ( I tried to find out :>). I slept so well - I have back issues and this was the best I've slept in months. I walked into downtown (Salida) every morning... 1.7 miles (downhill :>) I would definitely stay here again. It is right on Rainbow (the hwy) but it is a 'motor hotel' - Wonderful Mexican Restaurant right across the street, and the other way was fabulous Brewery/Pub.

Only a mile or so from Downtown Salida, I think it’s less than 1.5 miles. It’s a no frills budget option but clean and safe. We did a last minute trip to Mt Princeton Hot Springs and the price was great so we booked it. Buena Vista is closer but the prices reflect that convenience.

We don't need much for a one or two night stay and we like the old "Mom and Pop" Motor Hotels. Great Western Colorado Lodge was just right. It's not new so some updates were done in a way that works if not the most modern. We liked it, especially for the great rate.

The property was old and dark and had an outside entrance. Seemed clean but it was so dark it was hard to tell. Bathroom was bright and seemed clean and shower had good pressure. There were no amenities. I guess it did offer wi-fi although I didn't use it. No breakfast, etc. We had been traveling thru Colorado for a week and it was the most expensive place we stayed and offered the least for the money. The guy who seemed to be running it was friendly. I guess the old saying 'location, location" holds true.
